Anyhow, my guess is that NTRealm is correctly set up and you're all set in that
regard. There is most likely an error in your deployment descriptors. There's
an easy way to find out.
I've attached realm.war to this posting (let me know if you have trouble
grabbing it)
This is a utility war to test certain WebLogic security methods without going
through the webapp security container. Thus, you can test the methods
independently of the deployment descriptors and all that other nonsense.
Throw realm.war in to your applications directory (config/mydomain/applications)
hit
http://host/realm/RealmServlet
Pick a method at the top. I'd recommend authenticate(username, password)
Enter a u/p combination that you'd expect your NTRealm to have.
If "null" is returned, auth failed. Otherwise, you'll see the details of the
returned object. Probably something like weblogic.security.acl.NTRealmUser (I
don't remember the precise object name) If you see a returned object, auth
succeeded and the problem is certainly within your webapp deployment
descriptors.
There are a few samples of sample working deployment descriptors for webapps on
this newsgroup, if this turns out to be the case.

It did! Turns out I needed to grant the "Replace Process Level Token"
privilege. Thanks!Now I can see the NT users on the WebLogic console, but I can't authenticate
them. The unit test (weblogic.security.ntrealm.NTRealm) shows that they are
being authenticated, but when I try to connect to a web app the
authentication fails.
