R12 SQL*Plus Access - Application Manager

Hi Guys,
Finally managed to get my R12 up and running on Linux Redhat 4. I'm trying to get client SQL*Plus access to the database but i'm having a few problems.
If i remember correctly on 11.5.10.2 as sysadmin you need to log on as Application Manager and change a security setting to allow client based SQL access.
Is this the same for R12 and where has the application manager dashboard gone?

Oracle Applications Dashboard is access via System Administrator responsibility, same as 11.5.10.2 with ATG.H RUP 4.
There is no tcp.validated_node restriction in R12 Vision, if you have the tnsnames.ora information, you should be able to connect directly from sqlplus. I can connect from multiple hosts to the R12 Vision via sqlplus without any additional setups. Copy your tnsnames.ora entry for the database to the sqlplus oracle home you are trying to connect from.

Segmentation Fault when connecting to SQL*Plus from Applications tier

Hi Everyone -
I am currently in the process of upgrading a client from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 (eventually 12.1.3) on a OEL x86-64 server. I have laid down the software stack and followed all of the requirements as per the Installation manuals and 761566.1. I also have an open SR right now on this issue - but I wanted to see if any of you have ever run into the issue that I am encountering.
When I try to run adadmin/adpatch - I get to the prompt of providing the system user password and the utility simply exits. No errors in adpatch.log or adadmin.log (both are 0 bytes in size).
When I try to connect using SQL*Plus from the applications tier using either:
sqlplus apps/****@SID
sqlplus system/****@SID
I get a Segmentation Fault error. There are also no errors in my alert log file on the database tier. I found this error while attempting to apply the upgrade merge patch.
Has anyone ever seen s Segmentation Fault error? I have search MOS, found a couple of potential solutions - but nothing has solved the issue so far.

No, my database tier is 11.2.0.3 (the database version displayed above was the client version running on the Application Tier.
Who is the owner of the application tier files? If it is applmgr user, please make sure you login as that user and source the application env file before running sqlplus -- Please issue "echo $ORACLE_HOME" and "which sqlplus" and post the output here.
My owner of the application tier is oracle. I have sourced the environment using $APPL_TOP/APPSR12Dev1_******.env

SQL Plus access Errors

Hi All;
First off if this is a misplaced post, sorry about that and please let me know where it should be posted.
I have an Oracle 11.g server that WAS functioning fine up to as of late. For some reason users cannot use SQL Developer (on the server) anymore and are now getting the ever so common error when trying to connect:
ORA-12514 TNS:Listener does not current know of the service.
Nothing has changed with regards to the user ID and passwords, nor have the service names changed or any other config to the Listener.
ALSO:
If I try to come in via a CLI with sqlplus commands, no dice here either. I'll try this path:
@prompt: sqlplus /nolog
@prompt: SQL*PLUS: Release 11.1.0.6.0 Product...etc. etc.
@prompt: connect /as sysdba
@prompt: ERROR:
ORA-12560 TNS: protocol adapter error
Yes I have did some "google" searches, but they just seem to hint about new installs and configurations. Not said error issues with prior functioning systems.

If on windows, did you change the name of you machine?
It will fail your DB from starting up.
Often
Nothing has changedis our perspective, but something has in fact changed, else there is no reason for it not to work.

SQL*Plus,Worksheet & Server Manager Can't Recognize Commands

Whenever I (or a script)use SQL*Plus commands (such as PROMPT, ACCEPT, or HELP) I get "ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement".
What is wrong with my installation? Or what might I be doing wrong? Everything else works fine (such as connectivity & normal SQL).
I'm running Server 7.3.4 on NT.

But i have also downgraded java from 1.6.0_07 to 1.5.0_16. With java 1.6.0_07 i get the
failure every minutes. It's not possible to change exit an restart sql developer every 2
minutes.

TO NOKIA SUPPORT: Application Manager Memory issue...

There is a STRANGE memory issue with Application Manager and Nokia N80 device. It's present in both N80 and N80IE and tried with Firmware versions from v3.x to lastest v4.x one.
When you have installed many programs, tested with more than 150 counting SIS plus JAVA, Application Manager gets unusuable reporting continuosly "Memory Full - Please close apps..." and you can't do anything with it...
This issue happens even after starting device without any resident app loaded and 14 Mbytes of free RAM so I think this is a limited memory issue available for Application Manager
A curious thing is that you can Run and Enter Application Manager and installed App list is showed but not complete, it list all the SIS files installed (I think it start to list that type) and then the JAVA ones is cutted and dont appear the full list of installed apps of this type.
Another curious thing is that if you uninstall a SIS app and Run again Application Manager the list is filled with one more app of JAVA type so this sound like a MEMORY ISSUE or deliberating restricting number of app listed?
Perhaps app listing could be stored in a temp file and partially loaded in pages so memory don't get overheaded... :-?
Today with 1 or 2 GB memory cards, this is a SERIOUS ISSUE.
Please, could you confirm this and point me where to report this issue so it can be solved in future firmware updates?

How to access Oracle Application Manager

Dear All,
I have installed EBS R12.0 in Oracle Enterprise Linux Release 4 environment. Through browser I am able to login using sysadmin username and password however I am unable to find Oracle Application Manager or AutoConfig option any where. Can any of you please tell me how I can enable or access OAM.
Kindly mention the step by step procedure.

Is there a direct way of accessing OAM in R12 without loggin in to the EBS system and first going to the Systems Administrator first
In 11i i below logging on to the url for instance http://url:port would lead you to OAM page
Any clarifications in this regard would be greatly appreciated

Limitation in using sql *plus as a database for applications

dear experts;
I would like to know all, what are some of the major limitations in using sql*plus as your database in designing application besides the fact the user-interface is not friendly enough..and google is not producing relevant answers to my questions by the way unfortunately

You want to use sqlplus as well? Go ahead, it's the same database, just a different client app.

In the document 294932.1 Section 4 there are no pre-installation patches or update for OS RedHat LinuxAS4.
When I type echo $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL it doesn't display any value so do I need to set the LD_Assume_Kernal value manually.
If yes, please let me know the path and command to set the kernel value.

Access database issue in SQL Plus

Hi Friends,
I download a oracle 10g to install sql Plus without create database. (I download client and does not find SQL Plus)
I can ping database server from client PC and also set up a TNS.
However I got a error ORA 12504 --TNS:listener was not start.
I can access database by sql plua from server side. I do not think we need to put a listener file in client PC under admin path.
my database set as RAC module and system as window 2003
how to fix this issue?

OK, just to be clear, you have a single client machine where you have installed something with the 10g label. Are you saying that you installed the Oracle database bits, but did not create a database? Rather than doing a client-only install? Is there a single Oracle home on the client machine?
And then you have a RAC database running on multiple Windows 2003 servers, right? Is there a listener running for this RAC database? Can you connect to it from other client machines?
Are you certain that the service name you specified in the client machine's tnsnames.ora file matches the service the listener is listening for?

Technical Support “Tshering” Changed my Adobe Account/ID, and Permanently Deactivated Creative Cloud, and told me to contact Adobe Forums if any problems uninstalling/reinstalling CS5 Design Premium (perpetual subscription) continued.
I am contacting Adobe Forums because I am still having problems uninstalling and reinstalling CS5/6(updated) software. Please help.

Finally, Technical Support tells me to uninstall/reinstall all CS5/6 applications but the applications don’t respond and I get these messages:
• Item "Uninstall Dreamweaver CC 2014" is used by OS X and can't be opened.
• Item "Uninstall Adobe Extension Manager CC" is used by OS X and can't be opened
• Item “The alias Uninstall Adobe InDesign CS5 can’t be opened because the original item
    can’t be found” Applies to all CS6 Applications.

Issues trying to Access SQL Plus after downloading 8i Trial Version

After successfully downloading Oracle 8i Personal Edition, I am trying to access SQL Plus, it requires to enter a User Name, Password and Host String. I enter my OTN Password ID and I am refused access. Does anyone have any ideas why?

i am assuming you are using 6.0.8.8 of reports6i, which is base-release. there have been problems withthe OCA in this version. by using the latest patch you should solve this problem. for further details, please contact oracle support services.

Enterprise manager configuration failed but i*SQL Plus runs fine

While Installing Oracle database 10g rel 2 on windows XP professional Service Pack 2 The Enterprise manager configuration failed.
However I*SQL plus and
Datbase configuration assistant and other tools run fine.
I got the following error message

worth running emca -deconfig dbcontrol db and then running emca -configure dbcontrol db to let it have another try.
