Rac resource status is unknown only vip and asm is running fine

i have just install oracle 10g clusterware and oracle software on RHEL 5
only asm and vip is working fine ..rest of the resource not working status is unknown

i reboot the system 3 times but problem is same plz help me to solve this problem...

In WebLogic server when we checked the health status through monitoring tab. Initially ,we find the Analytic provider services and Essbase Administrative services were UNKNOWN.
we tried restarting the specific services (stopped and started the "Stop Analytic Provider services(Oracle Weblogic 10)" ,"Stop Essbase Administration services (Oracle Weblogic 10)" ).it has no effect still the status remains same as "UNKNOWN". But the services are running fine and the EAS console also working fine.After that,we restarted the weblogic hosting server. Now the status changed as "SHUTDOWN". Now also the services are running fine and the EAS console also working fine. How to make the health status of both the services to be RUNNING and why it is showing like this eventhough the services are working fine.?

Code fixed:
it does compile if any of the following changes are introduced:

- if(false)
- <without the "if" statement>
- var c:Class;
So the problem here is that "var c" has no type declaration of "Class". I guess it might be just "Class" and no errors might occure with any other types.

Just found the answer to this by experimenting.
Its the iPhone Configuration Utility thats the problem. If i use iTunes then standard packing works. Not sure why the iPhone Configuration Utility has a problem with standard packing though

I had this problem as well. I found that somehow the firefox.exe file had been set to run in compatibility mode for Windows 95.
To check this on your system Browse to the firefox folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and right click on the file "firefox.exe".
Select "Properties" and then the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for" is UNCHECKED.
Then try running Firefox as normal. Worked for me.

When starting up WAS 640 on Solaris, the J2EE egine starts up fine but then dispatcher dies...
I go to jcmon and verify dispatcher has crashed.
Then I check /usr/sap......work/
and find std_dispatcher.out
The logs show the following error:
stdout/stderr redirect

I recently updated my IOS software on my IPAD with the latest version and now video from some sites does not run. I did not do the update on my other IPAD and the video runs fine. Any idea why.

How to failover SCAN VIP and SCAN Listener from one node to another?

Environment:
O.S : HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64
RDBMS: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
It is a 2 Node RAC.
Question:
How to failover the SCAN VIP and SCAN LISTENER running on node 1 to node 2?
What is the relation between standard LISTENER and SCAN LISTENER ?
Why do we need LISTENER, when we have SCAN LISTENER ?
When I tried with SRCVTL STOP LISTENER , I thought the SCAN LISTENER adn SCAN IP will failover, but it did not?
Also please clarify if I use SRVCTL RELOCATE SCAN -i 1 -n Node1
Actalluy I am trying that by moving the SCAN listeners so that when I do PSU 7 patching on 1 node, no incoming attempt to connect will spawn
a process and thereby opening files in $ORACLE_HOME (which would prevent the patch from occurring)
Please clarify my queries.

2. The Standard LISTENER is specific for particular node for which it is running. It cannot be relocated as its specific for the node its running. SCAN listeners are not replacements for the node listeners.A new set of cluster processes called scan listeners will run on three nodes in a cluster (or all nodes if there are less than 3). If you have more than three nodes, regardless of the number of nodes you have, there will be at most three scan listeners. So no relation for standard LISTENER and SCAN LISTENER.
3. Hmmm. let me put it in easy way for this question. All the RAC services like, asm, db , services, nodeapps registers with this SCAN_LISTENER. So if any of these services (asm, db , services, nodeapps) got down/not running, the SCAN_LISTENER will know the down status, and if any client requests to access the node/service which is down, the SCAN_LISTENER will redirect the client request to the least loaded node. So here all these process will happen without the knowledge of client. And As usual the standard LISTENER looks only for incoming request to connect with the database. So we need both LISTENER and SCAN LISTENER.
4. If you provide SRCVTL STOP LISTENER, it stops the default listener on the specified node_name, or the listeners represented in a given list of listener names, that are registered with Oracle Clusterware on the given node. No failover will happen under this case.
5. Yes you can relocate if you want to relocate the scan.

suddenly ACE module status is unknown “FSM_FT_STATE_STANDBY_COLD”, after reloading the FT worked fine , i need to know the root cause for this ?

do a 'shut' / 'no shut' of the ft vlan interface.
If that does not bring the interface up, check on the cat6k if FT vlan assigned to SVCLC group associated with ACE.
You should also plan an upgrade to A2(2.4) since a similar problem was fixed.

RAC 11gR2 VIP and SCAN failover behavior

I tried to failover testing on 2 node 11gR2 RAC on Linux 5 X86-64 with configure in tnsnames.ora on client side (client side TAF configuration) with the following configuration

The test scenario
1. Connect from client to RAC database , and test query with select * from dba_objects
2. Open new terminal and connect to instance in step 1 , then shutdown abort
3. I found that , the session in step 1 not failover to other node , and VIP and SCAN not failover to other node too
In my opinion session , VIP and SCAN should failover to other node.
Or is this the default behavior of VIP and SCAN on 11gR2 ??
Can anyone suggest me ?

In your case, client could still connect to the listener running on this node, the listener would know of the second instance still being up and redirect all connection attempts there.
What you could try is rebooting the whole server, then you would see IPs being relocated.

If you are having issues with your iPhone such as you describe, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

Has anyone upgraded the Ironport ESA to 8.5.6-074 and had the issues of Raid status showing unknown? After we upgraded our appliances we are having issues with our ESA appliances showing the RAID status as unknown. When we reported the issue to CISCO we were updated there were no issues reported at all. Could anyone please confirm if you have experienced the same issue.

There are times post-reboot, that you'll see and get notification of RAID sub-optimal --- meaning that the appliance is running through on a health-check of the appliance's RAID. You should be getting a notification once RAID status has returned to OPTIMAL, or as per the older OS revisions, READY:

Recon Events and Resource Status

I have GTC reconciliation set up to auto-provision accounts to AD and Lotus Notes. As a System Administrator I want a way to see the status of the inbound user from GTC and the outcome of the resource provisioning. If there is an error in one of them I then want to be able to restart the process once the error is resolved. Is there any easy way to do this or do I need to use the database and APIs directly.

For inbound, you can track recon events and the state of event. If the event is matched, then it is completed.
For resource status, if the resource does not provision properly, the status will start as "Provisioning" state. There should be OOTB reports, or you can go to Manage Resources through the Web UI and choose the user's associated option. Then set the status to provisioning to see the users whose status did not complete.
Database queries will be the quickest way though, and turning those into reports.
