Radio Button Focus

I've had this on the GUI forum all day but have not had any help. (sorry)
I have a form that loads empty. I then grab data from the DB and populate the form. I have 3 radio buttons that are part of the radio group. I set one of these after gathering data by calling setSelected(true).
The focus (rectangular dotted line) does not move to the element that is selected. I have tried requestFocus() but it does not change. The focus moves when I press tab. It seems like the focus is set to the first focusable element.
What do I need to do to solve this? Should I try changing the order of focusable elements to have my selected item as the first element?
BTW - I have also tried the following to correct this.
doClick()
grabFocus()
I have made sure that I am requesting focus after show() is called. I've also tried it before show is called. The form is in a dialog window. I have tried it as modal and non modal.

Radio button loose focus on action='true'

Hi guys
I have a dynamic list based on which i create a table , This table holds a search result.
against each employee id in the table i have a radio button to select, i have made the action='true' for the radio button, so that based on the selection i can further calculate other attributes of the employee.
but when i select the radio button the user form is refreshed, the daynmic list and table are recalculated, the radio button slection is lost, all together a fresh result is displayed.
how can i solve this

Changed to requestFocusInWindow().
And added:

Also, the correct panels are focusable, visible and displayable..

Moving a field to the left side in a region closer to a radio button...

I'm frustrated not being able to place a field on a form closer to a radio group. I have a radio group of 3 options in which I would like to place a field to the right side of the radio button so that the user can type in an ID and then search a table by way of a search button on the screen. I can't place the field any closer to the radio button on the left side of the page...as it appears to the right side.
A drag and drop format would be nice.....
Is there a way to place the field in the exact location of where I want it?
2nd problem is that depending on which radio button the user selects, can I change cursor focus to a particular field on the screen?

How do I make each Radio button appear in the tab order?

When users tab through the form, the tab only highlights the first radio button of a group before moving to the next field or group of fields.
Example: the user is asked for the following information: LastName, Gender (M/F radio buttons), and BirthDate.
When tabbing through the form, users are taken from from the LastName field to the Male radio button, to the Birthdate Field. Never does the tab allow them to select Female unless they click it with the mouse.
It seems like this should be a simple fix, but I can't find it anywhere!

That's the way they work. Think of a radio button group as a dropdown or list box. When any of these types of fields receives the focus, you can use the arrow keys to move through the options and the tab key moves to the next field.
If you set up the group using check boxes instead, giving each in the group the same name but different export value, they will behave as you want. A group of checkboxes will behave a bit different than a group of radio buttons, but it's close.

How to go to a particular field of the same page by clicking the radio button.

           I am working on a form which is designed by some one else . There is a Page - 8 . And there is a question at the first which is in another subform.
           At the end there are several radio buttons . If some one is clicked as yes then the focus should be on Question which is present at the beginning of the form.
My code goes like this .

Fn+F5 wifi switch not working. X301: win 7 pro 64: Radio button highlit no action when pressed.

Can't turn wifi radio on. Hardware slider switch OK, Fn+F5 shows radio button, illuminates when focus on button, does not operate when button pressed. So no wifi available. X301 Intel 5300 AGN: driver version 13.1.1.1. /1-13-10 Device working properly : do not allow PC to turn off device: media state enabled. Windows network diagnostics - 'There might be a problem with the wifi driver' Lenovo toolbox - diagnostics :- available and capable to send and receive data. (obviously not true!) PCI express status test passed, no other tests can run because no network can be seen. Other laptops adjacent to X301 can see the wifi network signal. Tried, disable and uninstall drivers and device. Latest updates from Microsoft, Lenovo and Intel. Rolling back and restore have become corrupted and trying these fails. Has anyone any other ides to try please? Thanks

Radio buttons and PHP

I am having a problem getting radio button data into php and I can not seem to find any answers. My project is simple I have a group of radio buttons, when one is selected and a submit button is pressed I want the data from the radio button to populate the subject line of an email and send it. It sounds simple but I am having a lot of problems figuring it out and would appreciate any help I can get. I am good (not great) with flash, ok with PHP but for some reason this is taking a long time to fugure out. I can make a form work with input fields but not with radio button data.

Use variables, not the text field var option from the Properties panel... not a reliable resource. Give the textfield an instance name and use its text property to assign the value to a variable.
I haven't dealt with AS2 to PHP much, but are you using the LoadVars class to manage getting the data to the PHP file? I think the send() or sendAndLoad() methods are what you want to use.
If you search Google using "AS2 LoadVars" you are likely to find a number of helpful tutorials, including those that focus on PHP being in the picture.

Why not autoskip for radio buttons? and the update_allowed FALSE issue

I would so dearly love there to be autoskip for radio buttons. (forms 11.1.1.4 jre 6...24) There is no autoskip property for the radio group nor for the individual buttons.
I don't find an easy way to emulate it either. Or am I missing something?
Anyone else solve this problem already? When the user selects a radio choice I want the focus to move
to the next enabled item on the form. You can do this with text items but not with radio groups. (In some cases the radio group has a when-radio-changed trigger
that enables/disables following items). This would all be a lot easier if radio groups just had autoskip. I wonder why they don't?
BTW the following has cost me a huge amount of time. In 6i it was the case in my experience that if you
disabled an item like this:

Well right now 11.1.1.4 for autoskip for radio buttons this seems to be working ok. Crossing my fingers!
a block level when-radio-changed trigger with after scope (where item level when-radio-changed triggers
have before scope) with a simple next_item in there.
Where I was having problems before was next_item-ing onto disabled items. There was some kind of issue
with lov's. I'm having less trouble raising the lov programmatically. but also I had the problem that
items were getting set non-update_allowed without my realization.

Hello,
If you are using UWL, it is easy to achieve this through the customization of the xml file.
Declare the type in the display attribute of a view as type radiobutton, this requires the actionRef.
The actionRef then specifies the action that the display attribute is linked to. Selection mode SINGLESELECT gives you a radio button so user can move the focus to one work item at a time - this is defined in the view section of the xml file.
Here you can see some sample code on how to achieve this through the Universal Worklist:

Doubt on Radio buttons and Tab

Hi all,
I am learning VC and exploring things that can be do'able in Visual Composer.
While designing UI, I found very little elements, that I can put on to the IView layout.
Like, I did not find radio button that i can put in the layout design.
I am just curious that can I design the Iview with radiobutton / Tabstrips.
Please help me in this regard.

COz, I heard that, currently we have Patch1 and Patch2 for Visual composer for VC server and Patch3 is yet to be released.
Please correct me if iam wrong and in case, if Patch3 is already in place, please provide link if any?
And I would like to clarify one more thing, like do we have any "SET FOCUS" facility in VC UI Design.
Basically, I want to trigger an event if the cursor is placed in some input field. I am ready to use EPCM object to perform eventing, but i am not sure, whether we have "set focus".

Radio Buttons only work after selecting another field

In my Access 2010 database, I have an option group consisting of 3 radio buttons. If I select the first button I Access will allow me, but if I then want to change my selection to the third button I can only do so if I select another field
before I can make the button change. Now, if I want to change my selection again from the third button to the second button, I must select another field then select the second button.
I just can't figure out what is going on here. Does anyone have any clue or explanation that will help me??? Thank you!

I will add that originally this option group of radio buttons was working perfectly fine. This issue surfaced when I included a tab control to the form and moved all the fields onto the first tab.
It seems that having to select another field before changing a radio selection is limited when using the mouse; however, if I use any of the up/down or left/right arrow keys on the keyboard it will change radio button selections without selecting another field
(as one would expect it to).

Probably it has something to do with the focus of the form (first tab) with the radio buttons. Someway that form looses focus when clicking a radio button. By selecting another field the form receives focus again, so you can use the radio buttons again.
You can check it happens in this way.

Navigating Through Groups of Radio Buttons

Hi,
I am having a problem navigating through groups of radio buttons.
I have several groups of radio buttons, I tab to the first radio button and then press the down arrow to move to the next radio button in the list.
When I press the down arrow the focus does not go to the next radio button in the list. The radio buttons appear to be selected in a random order.
I have made sure that the buttons are listed in the same order in the hierarchy. I have also arranged the buttons so they appear in alphabetic order. This doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any ideas???

I was trying to use the script in this example to solve a similar problem I'm having with a radio button group that started acting strange when I added a script to it. However, the checkboxes are not acting like radio buttons. Meaning I can click multiple values and I only want 1 of the 4 options clicked. So, when I check the 2nd box I want the 1st to go away and it doesn't.
Here is my code, I've got 4 checkboxes (used to be radio buttons) and a text field at the end that appears if the last option is checked. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong?

How to navigate to specific radio button of a single radio group.

i have a radio group named rdo_grp, in that radio group i had 3 radio buttons named rdo_a, rdo_b and rdo_c.
Now, when forms executes and user navigates from any text item to above mentioned radio grp, the cursor implicitly goes to first radio button ( i.e.rdo_a).
But i want to navigate the cursor to second radio button (i.e. rdo_b) when cursor navigates from any text to radio grp.
please help.

The focus is given to the radio button that represents the value of the radio group - i.e. the cursor goes to the selected radio button, not necessarily the first button in the group. To force navigation to a particular button, I think you will have to change the value of the radio group. I don't know if that's desirable, but it could be done with a WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE trigger on the radio group:
:rdo_grp := <value of rdo_b>;

How to handle radio buttons

Problem getting check boxes and radio button to click with applescript

This is my script, it runs through without error, i can see the check box lightly flash like its being focused in on, but it wont actually check mark the box. it does this with all my check boxes and radio buttons.
