=================================================
Purpose
RAS(Remote Acess Service)
Explanation
4. SQL*NET
시작->프로그램->Oracle for Windows95->Sql*net Easy Configuration을
그리고 developer/2000이나 sql*plus 등을 user/passwd@alias

Pls Help: SQL Oracle; Win Unix!!
I'm looking to move SRM from SQL on Windows to Oracle on Solaris 10. Has anyone any experience in this and how difficult this may be? We are basing the Solaris SRM install on the Win SRM install - ie. same config, same version. We have 2 challenges:
- converting embedded SQL to Oracle - will Oracle SQL Developmer Migration handle my needs here?
- Win to Unix - Would the Java Machine install take away any need to convert existing java / javascript / perl scripts?
Hints and top tops greatly appreciated.
ThanksHi, did you ever get a solution to this because I am having exact same problem - I cannot see the scripts if I upload them nor can I type them in from scratch as the area for seeing/editting the script doesn't seem to be accessible.

I have a problem with JDBC Realm in Tomcat/Oracle/Win XP
I have a problem with JDBC Realm in Tomcat.
I have attached my server.xml file located in the
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\conf\server.xml
The Problem is that when I login I get the user name and password prompt but it does not resolve.
When I enter in the tomcat-users.xml password with memory realm uncommented it works fine.
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\conf\tomcat-users.xml
Is there a cache or something I need to reset for the JDBC Realm to work?
I have attached my tables and contents as well...
Did I miss something????
Thanks
Phil

Oracle win 11gr2 install in Windows 7 environment
I installed oracle 11gr2, the installation went very well. I could login to sql plus created tables and query the database.
Only one thing i see is different than past installations is that oracle files are installed in c:\app\userid\ admin... and other files in that path.
My experience in the past is to define oracle hone and files are found there.
is it going to be a problem when I use third party tools like erwin, toad etc.
how do i fix the problem. I tried to connect to the database thru erwin and had problem.
Thank you

You cannot put Developer 6.0 and Personal Oracle 8 together on
the same home directory as there are conflicts between their
dlls. Either put them apart (different homes) or use a certified
version of Personal Oracle with Developer 6.0.

Hetrogeneous connection oracle(win NT4.0) to Sybase( Linux )
hai....
* I have two databases which is located on winNT4.0(Oracle) and Linux(Sybase).
* How to extract the Data (SQl Commond) from Sybase..
* Is it Possible or not if so let me know...
* Is there any seetings init.ora file...
reg-Omkar Rao.BYou can use the Transparent Gateway for Sybase to access the data from Sybase. The gateway makes the Sybase database look like a remote Oracle database.
The gateway can be accessed from Oracle clients only.
Please refer to the gateways manual for more information on this product (http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/gateways/content2.html). Also refer to the Heterogeneous Connectivity Guide for the basic concepts about gateway technology (http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/server.920/a96544/toc.htm). -
Rotate backup OFFLINE oracle / Win
Class,
I do not have much knowledge with Oracle, and I'm wanting to do a HSC and need to create an offline backup.
Does anyone have any documentation on how to do an offline backup in Oracle and WINDOWS.
thanks guys!Hi,
With the help of BRTools, the backup of DB's for SAP can be taken very easily
Login to the Server at the OS level as <SID>ADM user.
Execute BRTools
4 - Backup and database copy
1 = Database backup
2 - Backup device type (device) (specify disk/tape) If ur option is disk then u need to have enough space in <drive>:oracle\<SID>\sapbackup
6 - Backup type (type) ............... [offline_force]
c - cont
1 - Confirmation mode (confirm) ....... [yes]
c - cont
As u r going to take offline backup u need to have the DB shutdown and thus u need a downtime.

Upgrade Oracle from 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4
Hi,
My SAP ecc 6.0 is currently running on Oracle Win (64bit) Enterprise 10.2.0.2. I was advised to upgrade it to 10.2.0.4.
But I'm not able to find the upgrade patches in the SAP software downloads.
Please kindly show me the path to the patches. Is it under Software Downloads -> Database Patches... ?
TIA !>

In the same location you will find .bin files which you need to concatenate to get a single patch dump.
In that dump you will find the OUI and you willl also find a readme.xml file which will help you to proceed.

Edited by: Ocak Karadeniz on Feb 22, 2010 1:16 PMHello Ocak
There are 3 known reasons for that issue:
a) the full version of the SAP Java Crypto Toolkit was not
found: Check the tool's CLASSPATH - it must contain iaik_jce.jar
file. The file's default location is
/usr/sap/<SID>/<SNUM>/SYS/global/security/lib/tools(or the
default share
//sapmnt/<SID>/<SNUM>/SYS/global/security/lib/tools).If there is
no iaik_jce.jar file, but iaik_jce_export.jar file only, the full
version of the SAP Java Crypto Toolkit is missing
b) the Jurisdiction Policy files: by default JDK comes with the
limited version of these policy files, which does not allow the
usage of higher grade encryption algorithms. The required
unlimited version must be downloaded and installed manually.
c) the JDK itself: Having installed multiple JCE security providers
into the used JDK, or multiple different JDK versions included in
CLASSPATH, PATH or LIB_PATH environment variables can disrupt the
normal IAIK security provider classloading and/or jar file
verification.
Solution
a) See the online documentation how to download and install the
full version. If there are both iaik jce jar files, check that
iaik_jce_export.jar file is NOT included into the CLASSPATH.
b) See SAP Note No. 739043.
c) Use only one JDK version (or remove the other installed versions
from the used environment variables).
Please deployi SAP Java Crypto Toolkit
Thanks

on axis page i see that the WS are active and correctly updated. Anyone may help me? ThanksYou need to get some better log output (from the web service being hosted on axis2) to see what the problem is.
Check out the reply that I wrote on this thread:
Re: com.sunopsis.wsinvocation.SnpsWSInvocationException: Error While Creating J
It shows how to get the generated java web service to log the error to a file.
The error that you've pasted is a standard stack trace from the ODI WebService Invocation tool. It swallows the real problem ... which is a nuisance.

WebTemplate execution blocks portal (BW7/EP7)
We are running an EP7 with BI Integration along with a BW 7. EP and BW are on different servers. We have one particular BW query which runs about 3 minutes. When I invoke the corresponding WebTemplate (containing that query) the EP is almost irresponsive for the time the BW query runs.
The discussion is not about why this query runs so long. The scary thing is, how can I avoid that the usage of WebTemplates has such dramatic impact on the EP's overall performance? Does anybody else have the same issue? Of course I could set up a second server node only for the BW rendering, however, when this template is being invoked by several users in parallel what happens then?
Even with normal queries (e.g. running about 10 seconds), what happens if 5 users in parallel work on this.
Did we miss something during setup phase?
Remark:
- BW 7 on Oracle / Win 2003 Server
- EP 7 on SP11 on MaxDB, Win 2003 64
- EP7 / BW7 on different servers
- Hardware properly equipped: 2 Processors, enough RAM etc...As of SAP fixed with SP13

Application Server Error (dependencies)...
Hi everyone,
we have a problem everytime when we restart the Oracle Application Server (OAS).
It looks like the OAS components didn't start and we get the next error:
Check the exception thrown by the Repository API for resolution information.
Some common causes of this problem are as follows:
OID is not running or unavailable
the ias.properties file is misconfigured with incorrect OID connection information
OID permissions are incorrectly defined
Base Exception:
oracle.ias.repository.schema.SchemaException
Unable to establish connection to the Oracle Internet Directory Server ldap://servername:389/. Base Exception : javax.naming.CommunicationException: servername:389 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]. Unable to establish connection to the Oracle Internet Directory Server ldap://servername:389/. Base Exception : javax.naming.CommunicationException: servername:389 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
Our system configuration is:
MS Windows server 2003 R2 enterprise edition with Service pack 2.
Oracle application server 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2).
When we have problem than the restart takes a 24 minutes. When we have not than the server restarts in 4 minutes.
When the problem ocur in the windows services all oracle services are started.
When I try to connect to the OAS farm then I get the error which I already describe in the top of the tread with the bold text.
If I connect only on the OAS infrastructure and I see that all the OAS components except the Management are down.
Than I stop all oracle services in the Windows services and start them in the right way again. In the OAS infrastructure I start the all the OAS components.
After that it let me to connect to the OAS farm ( of course because the OID is up ) and after that I start the OAS middletier components.
At the end I realize that the problem is probably in the windows services and/or OAS components starting dependencies.
It seems that the services don't have the right starting order of the oracle win services and that is the reason why he needs 24 minutes for restart. But the result is that the OAS components are not started.
When I restart services all by myself in the right order than everything is working fine.
My question is:
Where or how can I define the starting order of the win services and/or OAS components so that wouldn't happen again?
If someone had a similar problem...
regards,
MzzHi Sander,
thanks for your hint...I read Admin Guide and found the instructions on how to configure service dependencies.
Everything is ok now.

WINHTTP context of NETSHell command on remote computer
Hi, scripting guru!
I want to get system proxy settings from all my domain computers using winhttp context of netsh command in PowerShell.
And when I type command on my local computer netsh ? I get
The following sub-contexts are available:
advfirewall branchcache bridge dhcp dhcpclient dnsclient firewall http interface ipsec ipsecdosprotection lan namespace
nap netio nps ras routing rpc trace wfp winhttp wins winsock
But when I am on a remote computer with command netsh -r RemoteComputer I get
[RemoteComputer] netsh>?
The following sub-contexts are available:
advfirewall bridge dhcp dhcpclient dnsclient interface namespace netio ras routing wins winsock
There is no WINHTTP sub-context available.
Is thers any ways to get system proxy settings on a bunch of remote computers?
Thanks!is WinHTTP.dll present in your remote machine?
Look, I tested all on my local machine. First I run netsh directly with command
netsh. Then I run command netsh -r MyComputerName and get
[MyComputerName] netsh> prompt. And when I run ? command, I get much less sub-contexsts.
So, problem not it any paticular system. I think that winhttp sub-context unavailable for remote machine. But I couldn't find any info about that on microsoft web site. -
RMAN is not installed error although it's been already installed
Hi everyone,
My OS: Win 2008 x64 R2 Enterprise
Oracle; 11.2.0.2.0 64bit Enterprise
When I try to backup through Symantec Backup Exec , it returns the following error;

Recovery Manager complete.
But I have already installed the recovery catalog by the following procedure and every command in the procedure altered successfully;
SQL>CREATE TABLESPACE RMAN
DATAFILE 'E:\oracle\KP0\sapdata1\rman\RMAN01.DATA1'
SIZE 200M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO;

RMAN>REGISTER DATABASE;
RMAN>SQL "ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT";
RMAN>RESYNC CATALOG;
RMAN>CROSSCHECK COPY OF ARCHIVELOG ALL;
By the way, this database has been opened with RESETLOGS option in Feb 2012 and the incarnation list is like below;
RMAN> list incarnation;

I've already shut the database down and open it again after installing the recovery catalog , also related oracle services as well...
Could it be a bug with the version 11.2.0.2.0 which I currently use ?
Or what could be the solution ?
Thanks in advance...Hi,

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have a stupid question. Ths might not even be the correct forum.
My environment is Tomcat 4.1, Oracle, Win/Solaris.
I am coding a MVC application in JSP/Servlets. No standard framework is used.
I have a need in one of my beans to read in some information from an xml file. Since this object is created when a search is run, it seems inefficient to read this xml document every time an instance of the object is created.
I would like to declare this info static so that it could be used by all the instances of this object, however, I would also like this info to be updated/refreshed if I drop in a new instance of the xml file. How
could I implement this refresh of the info?
The info in this file is strictly read only so I would think that I would not have to have this info synchronized. (one instance would not change the information while the other was accessing)
Any suggestions? Can you point me to a resource for more information?
Thanks
MWell this was a stupid question. After reading more about the meaning of static I found the answer. As they say RTFM
Thanks
M
