Problems ActiveX-Internet Explorer
Please Help-I am pulling my hair out and not getting anywhere
fast !!
I am developing a website and have created a swf flash movie
and have embedded on my home page, I would like it to play
automatically on page load.. It plays just fine in Firefox, but
does not play automatically on page load in Internet Explorer 6 and
7 (have to allow ActiveX content first). I have scoured the
internet and tried lots of javascript fixes for this issue, inc.
the fixes on the Adobe site-none of them have worked for me.
I have pasted my HTML for the home page-with the movie file
already embedded (Dreamweaver) and would be most grateful if anyone
out there can advise me where to put the javascript code etc so
that the movie plays when the page is opened.
Many thanks.

</html>Question: Are you previewing your site from your local
machine? If so, the IE issue happens to me as well, and it's just a
security issue with allowing certain content off of local files.
However, if you upload your site and files to a server, you
shouldn't receive that message for allowing ActiveX content. I had
the same happen to my site when I previewed the site from my local
machine before uploading it to the server.
Hope it helps!

LabVIEW - Activex Internet Explorer Communication - Question
Hi
I have a code which can generate a URL(https:\\.....) to talk to a
server. The server in turn sends my code a response. I've used ActiveX
to enable the communication over a secure network.When I make a change
in the URL I send to the server, I expect a different response. However
there is a delay in reading that response. If I use the same URL in the
web browser I get the correct message. Looks like ActiveX is caching
the data. Has anyone faced this problem before and what might be a
potential solution ? Thanks for your help.
Thanks
Kudos always welcome for helpful postsAttached is a snapshot of my program. I think activex might be
cacheing. but i am not sure which component. probably the one which
tries to navigate the IE - that's my best guess. Let me know if you
have suggestions.
Thanks

Cannot install flash player due to internet explorer
I am running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 10. I have disabled activeX filtering, made sure scripting was enabled, and temporarily shut off my antivirus software as instructed by Adobe website. None of these things have fixed my problem. I try to download the flash player and in the middle of downloading it says to close internet explorer. I close all open windows of IE and push continue. It keeps telling me to shut down internet explorer even though it is not open. Please help. Thanks!

Also it won't preview on my computer anymore! Please help.

Why does it still think internet explorer is still open when it isnt?
Every time I get to 50% downloaded for the flash player, then it pops up with a screen saying to close internet explorer, so i do, yet it doesn absolutey nothing and insists that it is still running. Therefore it will never go past 50% downloaded.
Easiest way to do this:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save it to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run it yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, locate and run the installer. -
Installation stops at 50% - says close Internet Explore to continue

What do I do?Download the following file by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.

If I close out Internet Explorer, how do I access Flash Player?
Whenever I try to install FP, I am instructed to close out all programs, including I E. If I do this, how do I access FP?
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer to replace yoru Flash Player Plugin for IE.
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls. -
This just started to happening a week ago.
Internet explorer load the video in a instant.
I reinstall the flash player like 5 times but it seems like it didnt fix the problem.
I have a 50/25MBPS connection so I don't know why it doesn't load.
I can use site like twitch tv with no problem, Its just youtube
Clear the cache and cookies didn't help.
Any idea what is wrong?IE has its own Plugin (ActiveX) independent of FF and Chrome.
Chrome has ITS OWN plugin as well, independent of the other two.
Firefox uses the (non-ActiveX, non-PepperFlash) plugin.
This is a bunch of stuff, but it's pretty quick to do:
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as" or "Save Link as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download BOTH files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to dwonload the FULL ActiveX installer.
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls. -
Internet Explorer begins blocking out-of-date ActiveX controls
On Wednesday 6th August 2014, we announced that as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a more secure browser, starting September 9th Internet Explorer will block out-of-date ActiveX controls. (Note: The original post stated that the ActiveX blocking
would begin on August 12th. Please refer to the addendum for further details).
Please take a look at this important update via the
blog post as well as the FAQ contained therein and commence testing within your domain.
Thanks and Regards

Mark Feetham Senior Supportability Program Manager, Internet Explorer.Hello,
There seems to be an entry missing in the
versionlist.xml file.
There is an entry missing for wsdetect.dll (isInstalled Class ActiveX Control) from Java 1.7, I believe (there is an entry for 1.6, 1.5, 1.4 but 1.7 is missing).
Here is the relevant portion of the XML file:
<blocklistentry key="{5852f5ed-8bf4-11d4-a245-0080c6f74284}" entrytype="2">
<versionentries numberofelements="4">
<versionentry groupname="Java(TM) 1.6.0_81" filename="wsdetect.dll" productversion="6.0.810.0-6.65535.65535.65535" fileversion="6.0.810.0-6.65535.65535.65535" />
<versionentry groupname="Java(TM) 1.5.0_71" filename="JavaWebStart.dll" productversion="5.0.710.0-5.65535.65535.65535" fileversion="5.0.710.0-5.65535.65535.65535" />
<versionentry groupname="Java(TM) 1.4.2_43" filename="JavaWebStart.dll" productversion="1.4.2.430-1.4.65535.65535.65535" fileversion="1.4.2.430-1.4.65535.65535.65535" />
<versionentry groupname="Java(TM)" filename="*" productversion="*" fileversion="*" />
</versionentries>
This causes the alert prompt to appear when using Java 1.7 update 67 even though it's allowed by XML.
To reproduce, please go to a site that uses wsdetect.dll like Wikipedia (like here
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Example.ogg) and check if the prompt appears for you. -
ActiveX controls not downloaded when using Internet Explorer 10
We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organization is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using ActiveX controls are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
We looked for the various workarounds but we did not find any.
Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
<div id="x_x_imcontent"> <div style="font-size: 9pt; direction: ltr;">"ActiveX
control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features. Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."</div>
</div>
We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.Hi,
Please post your ActiveX feature testing scripts to the IE Web Developer forum.
(f12>Debug tab, search for ActiveX.... you should be able to find code blocks where you are feature testing for your ActiveX controls eg var ourcontrol=new ActiveX('foobar');
these code blocks will be the origin of the error messages that are injected into the page. (you can also search for where the "ActiveX control failed to load" string is in your code.)
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=iewebdevelopment
IE10 has ActiveX filtering.... a blue circle with a line through it appears in the Address bar if any ActiveX content is blocked by Tools>ActiveX filtering.
IE10 has Enhanced protected Mode turned on by default in the Internet and Restricted Zones. I assume that you are mapping your test domain to the Intranet zone (where EPM is turned off by default and x32 bit controls are used.... if not you should see information
bars asking for permission to run the 32bit activeX controls)
Ensure you are using the Default IE security settings, (and also that you have applied the new admx files to your GPO and GPEdit control panels....)
Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Ensure your test environment maps to the Intranet Zone (File>Properties) and that Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off for that zone (Security tab of Internet Options)
Ensure that your ActiveX controls are enabled (Tools>Manage Addons>Show all Addons) and that they have the correct permissions..... find them in the Addons manager and then click the item in the list to display their properties and permissions... at
the bottom of the Addons Properties there is a textarea with "You have approved this addon to run in the follow websites"... you testing and production domains should be listed.
For the best solutions/answers you should probably open a support ticket at support.microsoft.com so a support engineer can access your testing environment and do some tests.
Regards.

I have enabled Flash Player in add-ons for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1. I also disabled ActiveX Filtering as instructed while trouble shooting... Yet, videos still will not play on webpages shown in Internet Explorer. How can I fix this, since I have already followed instructions from Adobe completely? Flash Player is supposedly already be installed in Internet Explorer 11, but it is NOT working.
Long story short, the video site is probably going to need to change their content before it works in IE11+. I'd need some links to affected pages to tell you for sure (and even then, the complexity of websites these days makes debugging pretty painful).
In the meantime, you might just want to use Chrome for the sites that otherwise don't work.
