On the front panel, you must have
1. error out cluster
2. Test Data cluster
These clusters must have labels and they are case sensitive, error out and
Test Data
They MUST be connected to the connector pane on the front panel.
However, you usually get an error message saying that the VI Server couldn't
find the Test Data cluster or error out cluster. Did you see these
messages?
Make sure you are using LV 5.1 or LV 5.0.1 for TestStand. No other versions
of LV 5.0.x will work.

I have a VI that all I want to do is have test stand execute it.
I Add Step->Action (using the LV adapter). Specify the module.
I run the sequence and I get the error:
An error occurred in the 'My Test' step of the 'MainSequence' sequence
in 'test.seq'.

Labview Crashes when adding case and sequence structures

I am running into a problem that I have never experienced before - when I am adding case and sequence structures to a version of code I am writing, Labview 6i crashes (i.e CPU allocation jumps to 95% on the task manager and hangs there) requiring an "end task". I am writing the code within XP Pro running on a 1.7 Ghz Pentium 4 machine with 512 MB.
The code is used to control valves and temperature controllers on a Noble gas analysis line and is fairly simple. There are multiple nested sequence (30 steps long) and case structures within a while loop. The code itself is around 1.9 MB, so given the speed and on-board memory of my machine I doubt that I am reaching and physical limit in terms of the memory or proce
ssing power required.
Has anyone ever seen something like this? Could the code have been corrupted by an email transfer? If so are there ways to recover? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. At least to 6.0.2. Also, you might be able to fix the problem by doing a mass recompile of the directory that the vi resides in, this fixed a similar problem I had about a year ago. Just start Labview, but don't open any of the VIs in that program, then select Tools->Advanced->Mass Compile. I am not sure why it worked for me, but it did, I think it cleans up the code a bit.

Audio dissapears when adding clips to sequence

When I move a clip from the viewer to the canvas or timeline the audio dissapears....meaning only a silent video clip is added to the sequence. Any ideas? thanks

Lets see if the following could be the problem:
On the left hand side of the timeline right next each audio tracks there are two buttons whit the speaker icon on them, one to mute the audio (turns yellow) the other to make the sound audible (turns dark gray together with the respective audio track).
Now, in the bottom left corner of the timeline there's a tiny button with a speaker on it click on it If you can't see the first button I previously mentioned.
Is the first speaker button appearing yellow? Is the second one grayed out? (If so the silent audio track appears grayish?)
In one of these cases you would not hear any sound from the audio track because you clicked either on one or the other button of the audio track.

When adding mp3 to sequence I get no sound on playback.

I imported a video file and an mp3. The video file has an audio track in it. Laying the video on the sequence it goes into V1 and A1 respectively. Adding an mp3 file to A2, i get no sound from it at all during playback. Help?

If I open the mp3 in trimmer it plays, but when dragged to the timeline it does not. When I select the options for the source window it does show 2 different sources for the same file, one of them is blank. It seems for some reason no matter what I drag, only the source that is blank shows up.

IDVD shuts down when adding a video sequence... Why???

When I try to add a 2.3 GB. video sequence the program just disappears... No error message or anything, it just closed! Why does it do that, and how can I fix it?

It is in .avi.
AVI comes in many flavors, not all of which are Mac friendly.
How do I change it to DV format?
You can try something like MPEG Streamclip or VisualHub.

Adding Transitions to Sequences

I am still trying to learn this program. I wanted to make sequences for each scene. I then figure out to make a movie I make a sequence for the complete movie and add all my scene sequences in order (nested sequences). Is this the correct way of doing this?
If it is I want to add transitions to my sequences, but when I do I get an error that say there is "insufficient Content for Edit". The scene sequences seem long enough. I can add a transition to in the scene sequence, but this does not thing to the nested sequences. How do I add transitions to my nested Sequences?

Encore adding gaps between sequences in timeline

I have a project with 11 dynamically linked PPro sequences in the Encore timeline. When I reopen the project, Encore has placed 3-frame gaps between some of the sequences. Here's my workflow:
1. I created an Encore project with the DL sequences, created a menu, and built a DVD image file.
2. Burned the DVD in Toast, watched it, made notes.
3. Edited audio in several reels in Audition, updated the Premiere sequences with the new audio.
4. Opened the Encore project -- it asked if I wished to re-import the DL sequences that had changed on the DL server -- Yes.
5. Now Encore seems to have trimmed the tail of the unchanged sequences by 3 frames, but only the video.
Even though Encore gives be a bi-directional trim icon at the tail, indicating that I should be able to trim it in either direction, it won't add those frames back, at least not on all the sequences -- some of the sequences do let me add the frames back.
When I do trim the previous sequence, it snaps to the nearest I-frame. Apparently, it's trimming the previous sequence to the last I-frame it transcoded instead of leaving it trimmed to the last frame in the sequence.
How can I get around this?

Excellent. I don't understand how Encore could ask you if you wanted to reimport changed sequences if it was not reverting to original. I now assume that Encore does not address the possibility that you might have multiple sequences on one timeline when it does this process, and does not revert all (or any?) and produced the gaps.
So, in any event, your multiple DL sequences on one timeline worked, once you reverted and adjusted. The alternative to what you did would be to answer "no" to reimporting, then revert (which would pull in the newer version). If it was not actual changes that contributed to the gaps, that might avoid them. But I suspect you would still have to adjust the sequences on the original timeline.

Adding Multiple Task Sequence Variables to Devices using C#

I am hoping someone can help me with a small program I am writing for our company. We are writing a small program in C# to import computers to a particular imaging collection and we need 2 variables set. We have been able to create a single variable

The problem is that when we write the 2nd variable, the first one is overwritten. It looks like that property is an array. I've been trying to find a way, either using the SCCM 2012 R2 SDK or just adding it via the standard System.Management
functionality.
I'm sure there is a way to do it, the Powershell CMDLets will add variables rather than overwrite. We are trying to avoid that due to some PowerShell restrictions.
Any help would be much appreciate, I'm sure the answer is not as difficult as I'm making it but I'm stuck as I am not really a programmer, but, like many of us, have to function as one at times.

How do you list all VIs used in a sequence

Is there a way of viewing all the VIs used in a sequence? Is there a script you can run and it outputs the VIs being used?

There is also a way of viewing all VIs used in a Sequence File, but not in a specific sequence of the sequence file.
Here is how to proceed:
- Create a New Workspace File and add a New Project File to the workspace, if you don't have this allready.
- In the Workspace window select the project and Add the Sequence File to the project. The sequence you added can be viewed under the project in the left pane of the workspace view window.
- Right-click the sequence file and select the 'Insert Code Module' option from the pop-up menu.
- A new folder named 'CodeModules' will be added under the sequence file and contains all the VIs and all sequence files which are called from the current sequence file.
In the specific case where in the sequence file you
have steps only in one sequence (e.g. MainSequence) this way could be helpful for you.

Premiere adding 15 frames to the end of every clip in export/sequence

Last night I exported an AVCHD 1080p Square Pixel sequence to a H.264 video file. When I checked on it this morning, the export had 15 frames added to the end of every clip in my video. I checked my project in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and noticed that those extra frames were also added to my sequence. Any clue as to what would cause this?

Can you post a screenshot of your timeline.
Also one zoomed in on a problem area.
Are you using crossdissolves in a 30 fps sequence?

Video doesn't slow when added to timeline of different frame rate

I'm having trouble understanding what's going on here. I have a video shot at 59.94 fps, and I add it to a sequence that is set at 29.97 fps. It plays back normally which makes sense if premiere is dropping frames by 1/2, but the drop frame indicator says that it isn't dropping frames. The clip also runs the same length. The interpret frame rate for the clip in the project window says 59.94 fps, so if it's added to a sequence that is set at 29.97 fps and it's NOT dropping frames, shouldn't it be slowed down?

OK cool thank you very much. So I've been doing some research to figure out the best way to edit this project. The problem is that I have some GoPro videos shot at 1080X1920 and 59.94 fps and some at 480X840 and 240 fps. But the catch is I want to make the final product work well for Youtube. This is how I feel I should go about getting the best quality for my final video.
1. Set the sequence settings to 720X1280 (which is what I will export as so that the 480X840 doesn't loose as much quality compared to having to resize up to 1080X1920 to match the other clips). I don't think there's much quality loss in down-scaling the 1080X1920 to 720X1280 (if any, or is there?), so it's kind of a happy medium for both frame sizes that I have and it's still good for Youtube.
2. Apparently Youtube really works well with 29.97 fps, so this is what I will set the sequence frame rate at.
**Another side question I have is what if my sequence frame rate is set at 29.97fps and I interpret the frame rate of a 59.94fps clip as 29.97fps and add it to the sequence. Now if I use the rate stretch tool to speed up the now slowed down clip to 200% so that it plays at normal speed. Will Premiere remove frames to speed up the clip or does it really increase the rate of the frames so that I don't loose any frames?** My guess is if I export at 29.97fps it will remove half of the frames.
Is it not possible to have an exported movie clip that contains multiple frame rates?

RoboHelp HTML v9 - Browse Sequence not appearing when generated

New project - eg not converted from previous version
Added a browse sequence as per the help documentation - I've followed the help documentation however when I get to view result of the generated WebHelp - the browse sequence is not present on the topic pages that were added to the browse sequence.
I read previous forum postings for RH8 - where reinstalling or repairing the software seemed to assist - however when I access through control panel - add/remove programs the only option in to Remove RH9.
So I thought I'd ask the question here before uninstalling.
There was also mention of a dll file that needs to be registered on the viewers pc before the browse sequence would appear and if this is the case due to the possible audience for the publish I would not be able to control that.
Any help is appriciated, thanks.

Thanks - I guess I was looking for the page icons that visualized the
sequence for the viewer.
That being said - the navigation arrows are present in my published file
however seem to hold no functionality - while on a topic that is within
the browse sequence clicking the arrows does not move through the
sequence.
I was initially looking for onscreen navigation for a series of topics -
I though browse sequence would do the trick but I think I will move to
another method.
