RE:Decode and Encode Password in DataBase

Hi all how can i decode and encode password in Database through java.
thanks in Advance

The encryption and decryption will have to be done in your code, that is you accept a password, encrypt it and compare it with the stored password. Otherwise you can decrypt the password in the database and compare it with the user input password.

  • How to decoding and encoding PNG and GIF images?

    I could decode and encode JPEG images using following create functions which are in com.sun.image.codec.jpeg package.
    JPEGImageDecoder decoder = JPEGCodec          .createJPEGDecoder(inputStream);
    JPEGImageEncoder encoder = JPEGCodec                    .createJPEGEncoder(outputStream);
    But I dont know required package and functions to decode and encode PNG and GIF images. Please help me.

    Is the API that hard to follow?
    ImageIO.read( file/stream/url)
    ImageIO.write( image, format (e.g. PNG, GIF(1), JPEG), file/stream what have you)
    1) Not sure if Java supports GIF saving, it might if you install JAI, or Java 6.

  • Decode and encode wen retriveing from DB

    i have some data stored in the DB. for eg- what is ur name .
    when i am trying to retrieve it comes like
    whats%20is%20my%20last%20name
    i trie to decode it by
    <% String getSecretQ = null;
    String insertquestion = (String) pageContext.findAttribute("question");
    getSecretQ = URLDecoder.decode(insertquestion ,"UTF-8");
    pageContext.setAttribute("GetQuestion",getSecretQ); %>
    i placed the above code in my jsp..
    even after doing tis i am still getin my question as
    whats%20is%20my%20last%20name
    how can i remove those %

    String insertquestion =
    request.getParameter("securityQues");
    getSecretQ = URLDecoder.decode(insertquestion

  • Photoshop CS5 can only decode fax encoded images up to 32767 pixels wide and tall

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    Can you please help me? I am scanning large drawings using an Xerox 6204 Large printer/scanner. The resolution is set at 600 and saved as .tif. Photoshop CS3 can open files with no problems, but CS5 gives me the following message:
    "Photoshop can only decode fax encoded images up to 32767 pixels wide and tall"
    I can also view with infarview and open with applications such as corel draw. Am I missing a plug-in or patch update? The same file can be opened in both Photoshop versions if I scan at resolution 300.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    All the best
    Paulo

    Hi Mylenium,
    Many thanks for the prompt reply.
    I agree with you... it's a little odd to save on fax tiff format... to be honest, it's not like we have an option on the matter... the XEROX 6204 Large Format Printer/Scanner either give us .Tif or .PDF options... Anyway's no problem with CS3 or other software like mentioned above... so even knowing it's a bit strange to use such format, still does not explain why on CS5 I get this error message. Furthermore if I open on CS3 and save as (same file name and same format .tif) I can then open on CS5!!!!
    To my surprise, I did not know it was saving as a fax tif... all I get is tif. Even so if all other software including an older version of Photoshop can open it why CS5 can not? What is missing? As mentioned if scanned at 300 dpi it opens... Confused. Very confused!!
    All the best

  • Changing default database and application passwords

    Hi,
    We have default passwords for our newly configured Oracle ERP (R12).
    I have a concern regarding the changing of default password. Does changing the default passwords will have any effect on normal working of ERP and database.
    I know that we shouldn't change default APPLSYSPUB password. What about the following default passwords?
    a) Default accounts having default password in database (DBA_USERS):
    CTX SYS
    OLAPSYS
    DBSNMP
    DMSYS
    GL (oracle users .e.g AP, GL, AR)
    APPLSYSPUB
    OUTLN
    PERFSTAT
    SYS
    b) Default accounts present in Oracle Application (FND_USERS) :
    IBE_GUEST
    OP_CUST_CARE_ADMIN
    ASGADM
    MOBILEADM
    APPSMGR
    IBEGUEST
    OP_SYSADMIN
    AUTOINSTALL
    WIZARD
    IEXADMIN
    ASGUEST
    IBE_ADMIN
    ERP version : 12.1.2
    Database Version: 11.2.0.1
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
    Yes as stated by Srini, It's highly recommended that you change tyhe default password in order to safeguard your instance by outside threats.
    But please be cautious as you cant change these accounts as "alter user <username> identified by <new password>", but rather use FNDCPASS utility. I advice you to check on the TEST system before implementing on the PROD instance if you dont have prior experience using FNDCPSAS.

  • Starting up a database when I forgot the sys and system password

    Hi,
    I want to startup up a database from Oracle Entreprise Manager. I forgot the sys and system password.
    If I give the command:
    orapwd file=orapwSDB01 password=test entries=100
    can I give the password "test" to sys and then to connect with sys with password test as sysdba, and then to startup the database? Are any problems with this command?
    Thank you,
    Mihaela

    Hi,
    I have not done this myself, but YES, according to the documentation, thats correct.
    ORAPWD FILE=mypwdfile PASSWORD=syspass ENTRIES=10
    will set the password of SYS to syspass. And you can use the same further.
    But here, you should be in oracle user or the user which owns the Oracle installation.
    Also, OS authentication is always supperior than any other authentication.

  • How to use encoded password in ODI SDK

    Dear Experts,
    I found one problem in case of ODI SDK while implementing it in eclipse. As everybody knows we are hardcoding the database credentials, DBA is not interested to share the password easily.If we could implement this in such a way like we are using encoded password for configuring agent then it may be much better for everyone.
    yes of course we can create one file that can contains the credentials but at the end someone can print it in console by reading line by line. Is it possible to develop one algorithm that can ensure to use the password safely (like encoded one).
    Need your valuable suggestion on the same.
    Thanks

    Hi-
    Yes it is possible by the way of KM custamization, You need to modify LKM call sqlldr via jython step to pass the user info and password as variable instead of ODI method. Try this command in your KM step:
    userid=#GLOBAL.user/#GLOBAL.psw
    Hope this will work for you.
    Thanks,
    Saravanan Rajavel

  • Please help about encode password idm !!!!

    Hello All,
    I'm a newbie in IDM and in my work I have to encode password with CBC Algorithm before insert password in database (SQL server 2005).
    So I have already coding CBC Algorithm but I don't know where I put my CBC encoding Algorithm for when users change password on IDM.
    Please help me.
    Thank you for advance.
    waltt

    I'm assuming you're not talking about storing the password that way in the IDM repository but rather a separate database resource.
    I had a similar requirement with a different encryption algorithm and an Oracle database. I made my life a lot easier by having the database resource do the encryption. IDM will insert the password into the resource as plain text and, in my case, a trigger will catch it, call a stored procedure to change it from plain text to encrypted and then insert it. Since IDM never reads passwords from resources anyway the password was fully encrypted as stored in the resource and IDM never knows any better.
    Technically speaking you could have created a rule or custom form to do the password encryption before IDM sends it over the wire but if you've got an encrypted channel to the database then you might take my approach and skip having IDM do it altogether.

  • How to recover password from Database link in Oracle 10G

    Hi guys,
    How can I get a user password from DBLink in Oracle 10G?
    From sys.link$ the column "PASSWORD" is empty and the crypted data comming from the new column "PASSWORDX" does not work by using "... identified by values..."
    Any idea?
    Thanks...

    Why do you need to know the password? If you need to re-create the link in another database you can use dbms_metadata to generate the DDL for the database link and for a fixed database link the DDL will include an encrypted password that will match the remote database password.
    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('DB_LINK','Link_name','Owner') from sys.dual
    On version 9.2 it extracts the actual visible plan text password. On 10g+ encrypted representation in values clause

  • Error Photoshop can only decode FAX encoded images

    I've been using an OCE flatbed scanner to digitise large documents. The software scans and saves the files as .tiffs with an LZW compression.
    Using Photoshop CS3, I was able to open the files and correct the pixel ration. But, after trying to open the files with Photoshop CS5, I get an error message reading 'Photoshop can only decode FAX encoded images up to 32767 pixels wide or tall'. Seeing that CS3 opened them with no problem, is there any way to get CS5 to open them? They aren't CCITT compressed, so I'm not exactly sure why the FAX encoded error comes up...

    They vary in size from around 150 KB to 2 MBs.
    One file, for example, is 196 KB with dimensions 37795 x 22746 pixels.

  • Apply patch to 11gR2 through OEM - ERROR: Invalid username and/or password

    I am trying to apply a patch to an 11gR2 database (11.2.0.1.0) running on AIX 6.1. Using Oracle Enterprise Manager, I click on 'Software & Support' on Database tab, click on 'Patch Advisor' and click on 'Stage Patch' link. I use 'Search by number', locate the patch, click Next etc etc - select target, enter Oracle Home credentials etc. Finally I submit the patch job, and, after a minute or so I am getting 'Step: prereqCheckOnHome Initialization Error'. When looking at details of the step, I can see only:
    Error Log
    ERROR: Invalid username and/or password
    I am at fault to understand which username/password is being referred to. I have checked Oracle Home credentials by running an OS command job with these credentials - job completed fine.
    Obviously, patches can be applied the 'old' way - using OPatch from command line and then runing necessary SQL scripts, but I wanted to try new 'civilized' approach.
    Anyone had this issue and know how to tackle it?
    Alex

    Thank you for advice. I made checks for nmo/nmb binaries permissions and made sure filesystems are mounted without nosuid option. Also, I re-entered preferred credentials (and tested them, wheneve rpossible). Enabled authentification tracing as per document, got following in emagent.trc when performing patch procedure:

    Apparentry error happens in the Perl procedure and it is not being recorded in the log file. Any further advice?
