Re implimentation of new profit center & profit center group

Dear all
our client want to implement new profit center & profit center group but here already implemented profit center and profit center group .in this scenario what are the things we need to consider before implementing profit center

Hi,
Certainly, not. It's not a major development, but a standard data maintenance. Even for reporting, standard ones, the creation of a new group does not mean additional development, as it will be automatically reflexed in the reports.

I am in ECC 6 and the New GL report gives Profi center report . But I ca get the comfort like 8A ledger with drill down.
My doubt is will the new GL report takes care of all CO related transactions w/o GL?

Derivation segment (new GL) from profit center in CO-PA

Hi experts,
i have problem with derivation segment (new GL) from profit center in CO-PA. I tried Table lookup in KEDR to CEPC table, but SAP want date - DATBI (Valid To Date). I don´t know which Field name with origin CO-PA should choose? How solve this problem with derivation segment from profit center in CO-PA? I think, i will have to use Enhancement - userexit...

Hi Ajay,
i know about this field, i tried it. But when i try test in KEDR, the segment doesn´t derived. Tha SAP write No value found. USERTEMP1 have initial value is allowed (i tried constant 31.12.9999 too), the segment in CEPC is corect - exist: PC: MVV140000, CO area MVV, valid to 31.12.9999, segment: 0. Where should be problem?

Hello.
I wonder if it's possible to substitute cost center, profit center, BA in maintenance order Addit.data Tab
according to the WBS element
I think, in maintenance order Addit data Tab (IW31),
cost center and profit center is coming from work center.
and business area is coming from equipment or functional location master which I input
But the thing is WBS has that informaiotn(cost center, profit center, BA ) as well.
and since we need to use the same information(cost center, profit center, BA )
so Users need to change cost center, profit center, BA after checking WBS element information(CJ13)
so, is there any way to substitute(or change) cost center, profit center, BA automatically
in maintenance order Addit.data TAB, when I input WBS element and press enter key?
any help would be appreciated.

Change Cost center, profit center, BA

Hi all
I wonder if there is any way to change Cost center, profit center, BA
in maintenance order Addit.data Tab according to the WBS element
,using user exits IWO10005, IWO10009 and IWO10010.
The data like business area/ responsible CCtr, Profit Center in
additional tab are default from the reference object.
But we need to change these data according to WBS's
(since WBS has information -Cost center, profit center, BA)
any help would be appreciated

How to restrict the users specific cost center/profit center in FBCJ transaction.

We have created multiple profit centers across india. So I would like to restrict area wise profit center to use the users.
ex ; I have created for MUMBAI M001 to M009 range and for Hyderbad I have created H001 to H009.
So my requirement is Only Mumbai user should able to post the entries in FBCJ transaction and should not able to post other area's which are hynderbad and so on.
In T code FBCJ, Users are able to post to any cost center/profit center even it is not in the range of B001 to B991. I have maintained these values in object K_PCA and org levels as well
Kindly provide your valuable solutions’.

I have already restricted the filed RESPAREA of K_PCA. Please find the below details.

However still the user is able to post the entries in other area's (hydarbad n delhi..). Can you please let us know other solution.

Document change/display - Profit Center / Cost center name

Hi,
We have a requirement where client wants to display the profit center and cost center names (short or long) when displaying or changing a parked or a posted document. As we all know SAP shows only the profit center and cost center code and not the description during the document display. After all the deliberations, this seems to be an important piece of information while posting a parked document or even viewing it as a posted document.
What are our options?
Any help is much appreciated.

Profit center / cost center naming is following a different convention and we are in a roll out phase, therefore we can't think of first item.
About match code, the requirement is not so much during the posting but primarily while releasing the parked document or viewing the parked / posted document - they want to see the description along side profit / cost center.
I was looking for clues on any utilities / enhancements / BTE that I may use to bring extra fields during document display.

Cost centers represent areas of responsibility where costs are incurred or where responsibility for costs may be assigned. They represent the smallest unit of responsibility within the organizational structure of an enterprise.
A cost center can be pictured as a cost bucket such as a department, product line, production stage or geographical area.
An unlimited number of cost centers may be created.
All cost centers within on controlling area have to be assigned to a cost center hierarchy (standard hierarchy).
Costs originally posted to one cost center may be distributed and assessed to one or more other cost centers using allocations.
How are costs assigned/posted to a cost center?
External financial accounting documents created in FI, AM or MM that post to a G/L expense account can be configured to require a cost center assignment be entered at the time of transaction entry. The system automatically creates a parallel CO document that posts to the indicated cost center.
Cost elements master records can be configured to be posted to a certain cost center (automatic account assignment).
In addition, other non-financial activity (i.e., direct labor hours) may be posted directly to cost centers from within CO or via other modules such as PP or HR

Hello,
It is not necessary you should have 1:1 relation before profit center and cost center.
You can group costs of some cost centers to a profit center. Accordingly you can have 1:N relation between profit center and cost center. There are no cons as such. It is all based on your reporting requirement.

Cost element It tells you on what item u r incurring cost Ex salary,rent .
Cost Center It defines a location of cost.It tells you where u r incurring cost.Ex canteen dept, paint shop, maintenance dept.
Cost center A/Cing Cost center a/cing makes it possible to analyze cost accordibg to where they were occurred in organization
Profit center It is an organizational sub-unit that bears responsibility for revenues as well as cost.
Profit center A/Cing it is used to know
product wise profitability
Location wise profitability(Factory, sales,Branch)
Function wise profitability(R&D function, sales function)
Difference
Major difference is cost center collects only cost profit center collects cost as well as revenue and give u the profit.
Intergration data flow form FI to CO through G/L account which are treated as cost elements in CO

since we assign the profit center in the cost center master data, go by the cost center.
use table CSKS for cost center > profit center link, then sort on profit center.

Partner profit center/Profit center billing (VBAP-PCTRF) missing in sales order during intercompany sales process.

Hello All,
I am facing a issue where in the partner profit center/profit center billing (VBAP-PCTRF) filed at item level in sales order is not getting filled during inter-company sales process.
I have maintained profit center in material master for both selling and supplying company code.
In addition to this when I generate a invoice "F2" system posts to the delivering company code's profit center.
Note: profit center 9999 assigned to both company codes.

As per my analysis:
1. The profit center field (VBAP-PRCTR) is filled in with the data maintained in material master for delivering/supplying company code and when inter-company invoice IV is created, system is posting to this profit center, which is correct as per my understanding.
2. If I maintain some substitution rule using 0KEM, and if the requirements are fulfilled system fills in the partner profit center (VBAP-PCTRF).
3. If i create a order (non-inter company) in delivering company code then correct profit center (VBAP-PRCTR) is flowing from material master.
Please help me in understanding why the data in partner profit center (VBAP-PCTRF) is not flowing in during inter-company sales.
