I figured it out. Just needed to keep playing with the wl-proxy
entries and finally it worked.
Bye for now.

  • NSAPI - directing to multiple weblogic instances

    Hi,
    I am trying to redirect 2 different URLs (www.test.com/server1 and www.test.com/server2)
    to distinct weblogic instances which run on ports 7001 and 8001. The NSAPI instructions
    say to do the following in the obj.conf file -- see below. This works great if
    I open a new browser window for each one. However, the problem occurs in a single
    browser instance when switching between the 2 URLs. Both URL requests will only
    be directed to one of the WebLogic instances -- the other WL instance is ignored
    no matter what URL you enter.
    Any ideas????
    # Here we configure the NSAPI module to pass requests for
    # "/weblogic" to a WebLogic Server listening at port 7001 on
    # the host myweblogic.server.com.
    <Object name="weblogic" ppath="*/weblogic/*">
    Service fn=wl_proxy WebLogicHost=myweblogic.server.com\
    WebLogicPort=7001 PathTrim="/weblogic"
    </Object>

    # plug-in/WebLogic.
    <Object name="si" ppath="*/servletimages/*">
    Service fn=wl_proxy WebLogicHost=192.192.1.4 WebLogicPort=7001
    </Object>

    I am not sure I understand what you want to do.. From your example, what you
    are doing is directing anything that has "weblogic" in the URL to a single
    weblogic instance. In your case: myweblogic.server.com.
    You are also directing anything with "servletimages" in the URL to :
    192.192.1.4.
    Both these servers are listening on port 7001. There is no mention of 8001.
    Let's say you want to have all requests that have "server1" in the URL go to
    one weblogic instance and all that have "server2" in the url goto the other
    weblogic instance(port 8001), then you need to configure two object tags.
    One that has a ppath="*/server1/*" and that will point to weblogic instance
    1(port 7001) and another weblogic object that has a ppath="*/server2/*" and
    points to weblogic instance 2(port 8001).
    Hope this helps.

  • Multiple weblogic instances using IIS to proxy the requests

    I have a need to run multiple weblogic instances using IIS as the web
    server.
    Does anyone know if this is possible. I am aware and have been able to run
    multiple weblogic servers as an nt service,
    but in those cases weblogic was being called and IIS was being bypassed.
    Now the user base wishes to use IIS to proxy the requests.
    I have been able to set IIS to forward using the .jhtml and .jsp file
    extensions to the iisproxy.dll, but have not been able to forward these
    requests to multiple weblogic instances. When the request is made it is
    only looking in the first instance of weblogic for the request.
    Is it possible to use weblogic and IIS with two or more weblogic instances,
    without weblogic acting as a webserver.
    I dont believe this is possible but I need to find out if this really is the
    case.
    Thanks for any help you can provide.
    Ed

    You need run each IIS web server instance in its own memory space. This can
    be set through the Management Console for IIS.

    We tried to do this & Weblogic doesn't support this config. We opened upa
    support call with them regarding this, but there is a problem with the way
    that IIS & NT proxies .JSP pages to the weblogic servers. It's very
    unstable this way & I wouldn't recommend this config.
    We switched to Apache with virtual hosts to do this & it works fine. It's
    probably not the answer you want to hear, but it works very well.

    I will give it a try on monday.

    We tried to do the same thing.
    We copied iisproxy.dll and iisproxy.ini to server1 and let IIS use this.dll
    instance for proxying .jsp etc.
    We copied the iisproxy.dll and iisproxy.ini to server 2, renamed
    iisproxy.dll to iisproxy2.dll (to make sure another instance was used)
    and
    let the second iis site use iisproxy2.dll, but that didn't worked. (It
    doesn't read the iisproxy.ini file located in the same directory as the.dll
    file, altough in the manual it says it checks this first.) Now, I thinkit's
    possosible to use several iisproxy.dll's as long as you rename it so
    each
    get it's own instance, the only problem is that each .dll doesn't readthe
    correct iisproxy.ini file. (BEA, is this for SP7?)

  • IIS proxying to multiple WebLogic Servers by path

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to have 1 IIS proxying to 2 or more different
    weblogic instances (no cluster) BY PATH (no virtual hosts, no proxying by extension)?.
    Maybe 2 or more iisproxy.ini (or different sections in one) depending on iisforward
    path :)
    Just like with Apache or Netscape:
    APACHE:
    MatchExpression "/pathA/*" WebLogicHost=hostA|WebLogicPort=7001|CookieName=CookieA|ErrorPage=/LogoutA.htm
    MatchExpression "/pathB/*" WebLogicHost=hostB|WebLogicPort=7003|CookieName=CookieB|ErrorPage=/LogoutB.htm
    or
    <LocationMatch "^/pathA/">
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost hostA
    WebLogicPort 7001
    CookieName CookieA
    ErrorPage /LogoutA.htm
    </LocationMatch>
    <LocationMatch "^/pathB/">
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost hostB
    WebLogicPort 7003
    CookieName CookieB
    ErrorPage /LogoutB.htm
    </LocationMatch>
    NETSCAPE:
    <Object name="object1" ppath="*/pathA/*">
    Service fn="wl-proxy" WebLogicHost="hostA" WebLogicPort="7001" CookieName="CookieA"
    ErrorPage="/LogoutA.htm"
    </Object>
    <Object name="object2" ppath="*/pathB/*">
    Service fn="wl-proxy" WebLogicHost="hostB" WebLogicPort="7003" CookieName="CookieB"
    ErrorPage="/LogoutB.htm"
    </Object>
    TIA.

    Issue:
    How can IIS 4 or IIS 5 be setup to proxy from one IIS server to
    multiple WLS servers.
    For example:
    http://iisserver/myapp --> proxy http://wls1:7001/test
    http://iisserver/myapp2 --> proxy http://wls2:7001/test
    Resolution:
    Proxying to different weblogic instances with one IIS Server can be
    accomplished by using IIS Virtual Directories.
    a) Create a Web site and two virtual directories for it.
    b) Create two directories for the two virtual directories and copy
    iisproxy.dll to each of the directories.
    c) Create iisproxy.ini files in each directory created at step b. One
    for proxying to WebLogic Server A and another for WebLogic Server B.
    d) Register each iisproxy.dll to each of the virtual directories with
    IIS by specifying the appropriate mime-type. If you want to proxy everything
    for that virtual directory, then you will specify a mime-type of *.
    Please note that specifying a mime-type of * will not work with IIS 4.
    e) Make sure you set the Application Protection to HIGH for each
    Virtual Directory.

  • R/3 connected to multiple XI instances

    Can a single R/3 instance be connected to multiple XI instances at the same time?  If so are there any limitations and is there any special considerations that should be taken into account?

    Limitation is only when you are using proxy because here you are using native XI protocol and depend on these administration settings in SXMB_ADM. In SXMB_ADM there is one selection you can choose either INTEGRATION SERVER or NON INTEGRATION SERVER. If you choose non integration you have to point to your current integration server and here you can only fill one destination.
    Assuming :
    Type XI : R/3
    RFC  N   : M
    IDOC N   : M
    Proxy (XI) 1:N
    other adapters N : M
    where
    N,M - any number
    By the way using few XI servers connected to one R/3 is a little bizzare

  • Central Monitoring of Multiple XI Instances

    Is it possible to have central monitoring (message and end-to-end) for multiple XI instances in a landscape?
    We have a landscape with one Central XI instance and multiple local XI instances.
    Is it possible for me to ...
    1. Add the local XI integration servers to the component monitoring?
    2. Monitor the messages flowing through the local XI instances in the central XI RWB (even for messages that do not flow through the central XI)?
    3. Have end-to-end monitoring even for messagesthat do not flow through the central XI?

    Try removing the "CentralMonitoringServer-XIAlerts" RFC connection from both systems (proxy and PI). Then, ensure all com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.* parameters are configured correctly on PI (restart system to apply changes on exchange profile) and try executing the scenarios again.
    Check the target CCMS system the RSALERTDISP report and see if the alerts are being received there.

  • NSAPI proxy and SSL?

    Thanks for the response.
    First of all, iPlanet is just the new name for NES 4.0 (and above versions).
    That´s because of the Netscape&Sun alliance.
    We already have a separate instance of NES running on port 443 with a
    certificate installed. And we modified its obj.conf to forward requests to
    WLCS.
    I´m going to try the debug configuration that you told me. Anyway, if you
    know about any issue that we could be missing please tell me about.
    Thanks.
    Not sure how iPlanet is different from NES, but I have this
    configuration running for a client:
    browser <--- https --> NES 3.6 / NSAPI proxy plug-in <---- http ----->
    WLS 5.1
    What I did was, as per documentation from BEA:
    * I created a separate instance of NES listening on port 443 ( HTTPS ),
    and installed the certificate for that instance.
    * I then configure the obj.conf of THAT created instance to forward any
    matching requests to WLS.
    What you can do is apply the debug parameters in obj.conf so that you
    can see what is being received and how it is being passed to WLS.

    the proxy plugin. So we disabled SSL in the WLCS and connected all with
    clear connections by modifying obj.conf in order to redirect all the
    requests arriving the Web Server to WLCS. So far so good.
    But the next step was to secure the whole application.So we´ve installeda
    certificate in the iPlanet Web Server and enabled SSL encryption there.Now
    the situation is:
    browser <---httpS--> iPlanet Web Server (4.1) <---http--> NSAPI proxyplugin

    But it´s doesn´t seem to work like that. In fact, the home page isserved
    under SSL but it tries to get back to insecure connections whenrequesting
    any other page.
    The only change we have made to the obj.conf is the lines needed to loadthe
    libproxy.so library and to redirect all the request arriving the webserver
    to the WLCS.
    Any idea about what is happening?
    The plugin architecture of WLCS 3.x (where x is 1 or 2) is such that
    it
    will always use HTTP to communicate with the WLCS server, regardless ofthe
    protocol being used to talk to the web server.
    I am not sure that I completely understand what problem you areencountering. Can you describe it more fully? Can you post youobj.conf

    ...that document doesnt say you cannot have multiple ASM instances on a node. It says "...ASM, +you only need one ASM+ instance for that computer, to manage the two database instances that use ASM."
    The fact that you only need one - and I cannot think of a good reason to have more than one - does not preclude the fact that you do seem to be able to have multiple ASM instances on a single node, each looking after its own set of disks and diskgroups.
    Again - I cannot think of a good reason to do so though!

    This can be done, but it really depends on the load balancer you use.
    There is no recommendation from BusinessObjects and you might want to consult the load balancer vendor for instructions and support.

    While we are getting new server (for development) we have to set-up a Development and Production enviroment for our project (dont have previous OAS installation) but on the same machine.
    So, is a good option to have One OAS INstallation (Ora Home) and then create multiple OC4J instances, one for each environment (Development, QA and Production)?, is it possible? How to manage deployments between OC4J instances, simulating different contexts if they are in the same server and under the same HTTP Server? Will be there conflicts?

    Hi,
    you can do this and OracleAs will manage the different instances. The deployment can be done with Enterprise Manager in which case you select the OC4J instance first before deploying. If deploying from JDeveloper, you can specify the OC4J instance when creating the named connection

    Ah, youre actually asking different things.
    In your topic title, you say youre running separate instances
    In your body text, you say you are under different user/schema
    So tell me, do you have more than one database or not? How many entries in your TNS file?
    I would say, for "multiple database instances"
    SELECT
      a.id, b.id
    FROM
      tableA a
      INNER JOIN
      tableB@OTHER_DATABASE_LINK_NAME b  <--NOTE!
      USING(id)And of course you will have to look up CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK sql..
