RE: Object registering in Name Service

Hi,
You can always try to bind to a named object to know if it has been
registered with the name service. If it is not, you will get an
exception.
If you donot know the name of the registered object, then it is possible
to issue a command (NsLs) on the Name service agent. This command will
let you browse the contents of the name space directory. I have tried
this from the EConsole and it works, but with one hitch. It outputs its
results onto the Launch Window!!
Hope this helps.

When an anchored object is removed from the Name Service, the
remoteAccesEvent is posted on this object.
So it is easy to detect that an object has disappeared from the Name

But , how can I detect at run-time that an object has appeared in the
name Service (so the opposite from the RemoteAccessEvent) ?

  • Name Service in unknown port

    Hi!
    I'm new to CORBA and I'm trying to access to a name service which is registered in a remote server, whose I know its ip address, but not the port where is it.
    Is there any way to "ping" the different ports to know where the name service is... or something like that?
    Any idea will be usefull!
    Thanks in advance
    Excuse me for my english, trying to improve!

    I got it! I could see the processes started in the server and I saw the name service and the port where it was started.
    The problem now is I don't know exactly the name of the object I have to look for. Is there any way to know the objects registered in the name service?
    thanks!
    Excuse me for my english, trying to improve!

  • Problem in passing/returning objects over dynamic web service call

    Hi Friends,
    I am beginner in java web service.
    Here is the problem I am facing when I pass/return user defined objects to remote web service method using dynamic we service call.
    The client can call the remote web service method in 2 ways.
    1. By generating client stubs using WSDL file
    - In this case, I am able to pass/return the user defined objects to remote method without any issue only when the server side web services are deployed in any server(jboss)
    - But in java 1.6 & above, the web services can be deployed without server using endpoint. In this case, I am not able to pass/return objects over web service calls.
    2. Without generating client stubs (dynamic web service call)
    - This will establish a connection at run time using the given WSDL file (I have attached the document). I have to form an XML(This will contain API name, arguments) string as input at run time
    - In this case, it allows only string as argument while passing & returning.
    Please let me know if you can help me on this.
    Regards,
    pani

    I see that OpenLDAP is not configured. Is this a problem?
    If I try with Embedded Java Container, Will I resolve my problem??

    hi, this is a late reply.
    I encountered the same problems as yours. I then read the releasenotes(for windows) of EPM and found this:
    Could not start the Shared Services from Windows services.
    solution: update Windows registry
    1. locate the following item of windows registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion
    Solutions\FoundationServices0\HyS9FoundationServices
    2. Under HyS9FoundationServices, add 1 to JVMOptionCount, and add a new JVMoption, whose value is set to be -DEPMRegistryUpdate=true。
    3. restart the Shared Services server from Windows services.
    It does work (for me). Hope this helps.
    Best regards.

  • Will Nodeapps register the listener service of RAC database?

    Hi Friends,
    In 10g RAC will Nodeapps register the listener service of RAC database?
    because if i bring down nodeapps the listenener is also going down
    ora....C1.lsnr application OFFLINE OFFLINE
    ora.rac1.gsd application OFFLINE OFFLINE
    ora.rac1.ons application OFFLINE OFFLINE
    ora.rac1.vip application OFFLINE OFFLINE
    Regards,
    DB

    Hi,
    This is expected behavior. The default listener (listener_nodename) could be starte and stopped with nodeapps.
    srvctl listener is mainly for specific listeners that are other than default.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/rac.102/b14197/whatsnew.htm#sthref6
    If you create additional Listeners with non-default names, in other words, with names other than the name listener_nodename where nodename is the name of the node on which the Listener resides, then you must start and stop these Listeners with SRVCTL commands.

  • Retrieve multiple records of  Business Object in a Application Service?

    Hi,
    I am working on CE71.
    I want to know how to retrieve multiple records of a Business Object in a Application Service?
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi,
    This can be achieved by adding find method on one or multiple attributes of the business object.
    Suppose There is a customer business object with attributes (name, id , city, country ). Now you can add findByCity operation that will return all the Customer Objects which have the City = as entered by user.
    Now this find operation can then be called by your application service and this list can then be returned as output of the application service.
    Hope this helps,
    Ashutosh

    hi Gurus:
    I´m not able to register the Informatica services on DAC. The services are running and I also created a Custom Property on the Integration Services to set the server port to 4006, I created the Administrator user on the Informatica Administrator Console, but nothing has worked.
    My OBIEE Apps version is 7.9.6.3 and Informatica is 9.0.1 hotfix 2.
    Thanks

    Check these
    For Type=Informatica
    Service--> Give Integration service name
    Server Port: 6007 as per my config
    Domain-->Doamin_<hostname>
    Repository Name-> as per your config
    For Type=Repository
    Hostname-><hostname>
    Server Port : 6005 as per my config
    Domain-->Doamin_<hostname>
    Repository Name-> as per your config
    The host and port number can get from file \Informatica\9.0.1\domains.infa
    there is a possibility for work with same ports as I mentioned
    Make sure your dac and informatica servers are up and running

  • View front panel by going to a registered domain name

    Hi all,
    I have a registered domain name, say,  www.frontpanel.com
    By configuring a router, I can now view a running LabVIEW front panel within campus by going to 128.200.xxx.xxx/frontpanel.html, my questoin is, how can I view the frontpanel from outside of our campus. Say, I have a registered domain name as shown above.
    The LabVIEW is version 2012, and the system is Windows 7.
    Thanks for any help,
    -Chen

    This has nothing to do with LabVIEW but...
    You need the network to be configured to allow external requests to the PC and to set up the domain name to point to the external IP address of the computer.
    If it were a home network, you'd configure your router/modem to forward requests on the ports required (port forwarding port 80 for the frontpanel.html and any ports that Remote Front Panels needs) from the internet to the PC that is running the Remote Front Panel VI.
    For the domain name to work, you need to configure it's DNS settings to point to the external IP address as above. If it's a static IP address then that's pretty easy to just put in the IP address but if it's dynamic then you need to use a dynamic DNS service (e.g. dyndns).
    If you're on a Campus network, you'd have to go through / talk to their IT department and I'd be very surprised if they allowed that to happen.

  • Calculation Field to be mapped to different data object's column name in Oracle BAM 12c

    Hi,
    I am having a challenge to enable drill down to 2nd level report by passing calculation field as parameter.
    As an alternative, I am thinking to point calculation field to another data object’s column name and generate report so that I would be able to pass that as parameter to drilling report view.
    Is there any way to map calculation field to different Data object’s column name? Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Amik Basu

    1. Yes, you can.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá number(10));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values (10);
    1 row created.1.1 and 1.2 and 2. You can choose UTF as your default character set. It allows the user of non-English characters in VARCHAR columns in your whole database. It is not per tablespace.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá varchar2(100));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values ('âãäçìé');
    1 row created.
