Hello Everyone,
I need to add the F4 functionality on input field and check condition in custom infotype. where should I look to find the any existing F4 functionality in any other infotypes in the system. and where should I put the code in for check condition.
Is there any one who can put some light on it ?

You have 2 options.
1.Table Level
create a search element and you can attch it in table.
2.Screen Level.
In the Flow logic, create a module like " FIELD P9332-fieldname MODULE f4_values" under PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.you can do the coding in the module for populating.

About to use HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to create customer infotype issue:

this infotype is customer infotype.
the first scenario is:
i'm be sure no data about one employee in this infotype(9004).
to call with data upload function and put data into internal table IT_PA9004.
and the table data as follow:

Module pool F4-Help problem for a field in custom Infotype(HR).

Dear Gurus,
I have created a custom Infotype and fields are like
P9015-NAM01.
P9015-NAM02.
P9015-NAM03.
all are fields for name.
I want F4 help for these fields with values same as Family Members-First name given in 21 Infotype .
for all 3 fields same f4 help values.
But when i see in the screen for first field the values are populating as selected but for second field the selected value is not picking..

Write the FM inside,
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam1>.
It seems that you are calling the funtion module for only first field. Repeat it for other two fields also-
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam2>
call FM.
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam3>
call FM.

Creating / Updating Custom Infotype Records

Hello everbody,
We implement alot of custom HR infotypes in our system, both PA & HRP.
For the past several we have been using BDC (Batch-Input) recorded functions in order to update / create the records in our infotypes.
We're currently facing an upcoming ECC upgrade , and I would like to lead a change that will eventually lead to us using generic SAP supplied functions.
I've researched a few functions that might do the trick:
RH_INSERT_INFTY:
This one is giving me an SY-SUBRC 2 error code - Insert error, I tried to select a current record and insert it as different objid but this doesnt work.
HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION:
I've read of several people that recommended using this function, but it is not released by SAP and I couldnt get it to work as well.
BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT:
This one seems to work for sap infotypes but I dont think it suits custom infotypes.
What is the "official" way of doing such operations?

How to add fields in custom infotype and update its screens

I want to enhance a custom infotype ( Add some new fields, and add special function on its screen). This custom infotype is created in previous release. is there any way to add fields in infotype? and let system automatcailly modify corresponding screens to add new fields

Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the u2018Employee Infotypeu2019 radio button.
4) Select the u2018PS Structure Infotypeu2019.
5) Click on Createu2026 A separate table maintenance window appearsu2026
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on u2018Allu2019 push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on u2018Technical Characteristicsu2019. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on u2018Changeu2019(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on u2018Detailu2019 (magnifying glass) button
13) Give u2018T591Au2019 as subtype table
14) Give u2018T591Su2019 as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen

24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirementu2026

HR ABAP : Custom Infotype updations through FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION

          Actually, I want to update the custom infotype 3 fields as per my user inputs. I am fetching the data from the PA table acoording to sy-datum falling in the begda, enda limitations. now I am changing the field with new values in the work area. And pass with the following data to the FM.
          But I am getting the error 'No data stored for 9008 in the selected period', eventhough it is already having a data in the database table. I had seen prvious therads, but could not get how they solved the issue.
Please provide the inpus for the following code.
          ( I had also passed the validity start and end from the database entry. at this moment it gets dumped at the statement

Adding a text field in a custom infotype

Hi,
I have a custom infotype which deals with sickness data of the employee
My requirement is that the user will enter an explaianation for his sickness...etc. Thus I need to incorporate a text field in my infotype.
What I am planning is to give a button on the screen of infotype, so when user clicks it a text editor will open and and he can insert or update his sickness text data.
Please tell me how do i do that and also if there is any alternate better approach.

you need to make a custom container on which you have to put editor
use class cl_gui_custom_container, cl_gui_text_editor, first define instances in top include then create objects. if you want this to be done when you click on any button then put this coding in the function code of that button.

         Technically TEMSE files are read by calling the following 3 function modules in sequence,
              1) RSTS_OPEN_RLC or RP_TS_OPEN: open the temse object
              2) RSTS_READ : read the object
              3) RSTS_CLOSE: close the object

Error executing Custom Infotype..

An Invalid table name PA9001 is mentioned in the open SQL Statement.
Runtime Error:SAPSQL_INVALID_TABLENAME
Exception:CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SEMANTICS occoured in procedure READ_DATABASE but neither
handled locally nor declared in the RAISING clause of its signature.
Termination occoured in ABAP Program SAPFP50P- in "READ_DATABASE".
The main Program was "MP900100".
I did not do any modifications in the programming part.Even then I am getting the errors..

I had faced these issues before while creation of custom infotype. But I found later that its the incorrect authorizations which is not allowing the system to create the structures.
When you create an infotype, sap follows few steps to create various strcutures and table enties.
But due to insufficient authorizations, many of them are skipped. e.g. A functional person does not have authorization to create tables/ structures through SE11. I think this is the reason why the table PA9xxx is not created in your case.
Fix your authorizations, and recreate the custom infortype.

Customer Infotype modifiction problem

Hi all,
I have created a Customer Infotype using TCode PM01. It works fine.I am able to enter data using transaction PA30 and choosing my customer infotype and clicking create. Everything is fine till here.
Now I modified its structure and added some fields, and put those fields in the screen, and declared them in my module pool of the infotype as well. I activated the infotype. its fine.
Now when I try to make some entries in my customer infotype using PA30, the fields which were present before are ok - I am abl;e to enter data in them.But the fields I added later in my infotype are all GREYED and I am not able to put data in those fields. Please suggest what to do.

I have problem on search help (F4) on field PLANS,

I use this for 'F4 Help' in the selection screens of my report programs. But, to have it at the table level, you need to create a Search help and attach it to the particular field of the Custom Infotype table.

Disable buffering on custom infotypes

Is there a standard way to bypass the buffering concept on custom infotypes? Possibly by using a field on T582A or T777D that would allow you to flag this part of code to be skipped at your request?

We normally advise the customer to call function module 'HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE' before the call of 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA' in order to clean the buffer data. Or else passing `X` to Bypass_buffer parameter should solve your issue too.

Not to Update custom infotype

Hi Expert,
I have one custom FM which is used to update the custom infotype but my requirement is when it get fail it should not update
the infotype but it is updating.Befor this FM we are performing operation i. e MASSN 07,08, .
This requirement is based on contract renewal when contract is not renewed it should not update custom infotype bue it is
updating when contract is not renewed through the above FM.
please give me some idea so that custom infotype should not get updated when contract is not renewed.But it is
updating the infotype what should i put to not update the infotype when contract is not renewal.
