RE: Problem of lack of resources ?

We are also having problems similar to what you have described. I have
not reported this to tech. support because it happens
infrequently. Most of our problems happen when we are trying to update,
integrate, and compile. Debug seems to be working fine.
The strange thing to me is that my PC has 64 meg and I am allocating 54
meg to Forte. I thing there are some internal problems with
3.0 working on 95. I never had this problems on NT. Hopefully the next
release will solve the problem.

Subject: Problem of lack of resources ?
Hi all,
we are developing using Forte' 3.0.E on Windows 95 and Windows NT client,
with 32 MB RAM. We are experiencing some strange behaviours. When we
update, integrate, compile or debug from the client Forte', the client pc
slows down terribly and frequently blocks at all. We can overcome the
problem for update, integrate and compile if we use FSCRIPT, but we have no
solution for the debugger.
It has happened that we clicked on the debugger button and after 20 minutes
it hadn't started yet ! (obviously we gave up). In this case specific, the
application was built in Express and it WASN'T very big !
If we try doing the same operations from a NT server with 128 MB RAM we
have no problems.
Is it a problem of resource lack ? What's the recommended platform /
configuration ? Perhaps NT client with 64 MB RAM ?
TIA

Cristina,
What did you specify as memory flags when starting your Forte
development workbench.
We generally provide Forte with an object space of 16 to 24 MBytes.
The command syntax looks something like this :
ftexec -fi ct:%forte_root%\userapp\forte\cl0\forte -fm "(n:16000
x:24000)" ...
If you want to monitor how much of your object space is used and how
often has the garbage collection mechanism to start reclaiming space,
try this: trc:os:1:1.
Hope this helps, Bernard.

There is a known bug with 3E0 Forte using PC resources on Win '95. I was told
it would be fixed in the F release, coming in Dec. possibly. The bug fix
number is 32472 if you want to contact Forte about it.

  • Problem restoring my iPod - "Resource was not found"

My iPod hardrive is a little bit dodgy (to say the least.) When I try to connect it to my computer, it comes up with an error message that says "ITunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod."
So I restore it, but then another message pops up that says "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod “iPod.” The requested resource was not found." and then iTunes stops recognizing my iPod.
    Any suggestions?

i was also having the same problem. i seem to have fixed the problem but time will tell.
    here is what i did.
    1. you have to get rid of itunes 7. i did a lot of reading on the internet looking into error 1418 and 1429 and this is happening to a lot of people after they do the software update. trash everything except the itunes music folder, (where all of your mp3's a stored. don't empty the trash until you have your old songs back on your new old version of itunes 6, just to be safe.
    2. find a download for itunes 6. not the easiest thing in the world but you should be able to find it on a bit torrent or ask a friend that might still be running on that to send you a copy.
    3. you can try and restore your ipod with the old ipod updater that comes with itunes 6, (2006-01-10). it might not work the first time, it might not work after several. but at least give it a go. mine would update sometimes but then when i tried to play songs on it later it would just tear through songs and not play anything.
    4. open up your disk utility program. i ran a repair permissions and repair disk first, both times i got a message saying there was a bad btree situation going on. if you don't get this message, i suggest trying to restore it again before you go to step five.
    5. you are going to have to completely erase the **** thing. choose erase and pick the default option that comes up (mac os extended (journaled))
    6. your ipod is going to be in disk mode now, don't trip out.
    7. run the ipod updater again. once again, mine wouldn't allow me to eject the ipod once it was done so i just restarted it.
after all this, it opened up itunes and asked me to name my ipod. everything has been cool now since this morning. good luck!

Hi - We have executed the re-transport which resolved the situation described above.
However we have not been able to fully close the topic and understand the root cause.
Our current understanding is as follows:
At the time of a transport activation, a cache notification is created and the information is transmitted from the Integration Directory to the different caches using user XIDIRUSER. After the successful notification, the cache update is triggered. This is initiated by the IE ABAP Runtime via user XIISUSER. This user is calling the Integration Directory which than takes user XIDIRUSER to retrieve the required objects, e.g. message mappings, from the Integration Repository. If at this stage, the user XIDIRUSER does not receive an available Work-Process, the action is not completed. This means also the cache notification stays green, as the negative feedback cannot be transmitted either, since the user XIDIRUSER 'died out'.
This was confirmed to happen in an overload situation for our system.
Please comment if you have any further experiences or different explanation.

    hi,
I think you have been using a work center in place of resouce.
    Actually
Resource catagory = 0008 is assign to Application C (Recipe) & only use in Recipe Creation.
Work Center catagory = 0005 is assign to Application N & R( Routine & Refernce operation set) & only use in Routine Creation.

  • The problem of connect and resource role

    Hi,
As we know, that while crating a new user, we can assign connect and resource so that the user can access the system tablespace.
The problem that i got is instead of assigning the connect and resource role, i have assigned each and every privilege individually from this role. But, surprisingly, my user has not got the privilege o accessing the system tablespace.
I was working in oracle 9i database. Can anyone help me in this regard and tell me what is the reason behind this?

  • Problem loading JNDI custom resources after migration from WS6.1 to WS 7.0

We have a web application that uses a handful of custom resources that works fine on Sun Web Server 6.1, but after we migrate to 7.0, it fails. The error is that it cannot find the Factory class that we use to create the custom resources. If we put a .jar file in the server's classpath so it can find the Factory class, we get a perplexing error that the custom resources don't match in the config files, when they're identical.
    Here are the details:
The error we get when we just do the migration without any changes is:
    *WEB7021: Class [edu.umn.cidrap.admin.repository.RepositoryFactory] not found*
After we add the .jar to the server classpath, that goes away, but we get:
    *WEB7018: res-type mismatch for resource [bean/UrlRepository]. res-type in server.xml [<package>.UrlRepository] does not match res-type in web.xml [<package>.UrlRepository]*
    The <package> matches identically.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
    Dave

    Yes, it's odd.
I ran across a similar problem upgrading an application in Tomcat, from version 5 to 6. The gist of the problem there seemed to be that the class loaded into JNDI was loaded by the server's classloader while the class using it was loaded by a different classloader (one for the web app) and that, in Java, the same class loaded by different class loaders is different. Or something like that.
The solution that worked there was to make sure that Tomcat could not find the class, which I think caused it to be loaded by the web app class loader. But I'm out of my league on that and my memory is not what it should be.
I don't know if that's the case here, but the error message -- two identical classes generating a message that they're not the same -- brings up that bad memory.
    Nonetheless, I'm still stumped.

  • PRE7 critical lack of resources crash

I am running Pre7 on a Dell machine to the following spec. Intel Dual Core 2.4GHz, 4Gig Ram, 300gig Sata array plus two external USB2 hard drives. GForce 9600GT Vid card. I have been trying to edit AVCHD vid from a sony camcorder. I have had some success with short films and performance has been improved by setting up different scratch discs for capture and saves. I have been capturing to the SATA array but saving the project to one of the external drives. I have been burning projects to DVD and BluRay using an LG internal BD burner. In most case if I can create a project I have been able to render it and burn with few problems.
My challenge is to handle larger projects EG 2 hours of AVCHD from a recent vacation. All is well for a while but then I get an error message about shortage of system resources followed by a crash. I have been monitoring system performance in task manager which tells me I have half of my RAM available. Processors run up to max at times but there is nothing unusual about that and I just wait for things to settle down before moviing on. I don't understand what resource I have run out of. This is driving me nuts so any suggestions would be welcome. I am prepared to buy a new higher spec system if it will fix the problem but will it  ???
    Help!!!!!

    Antony,
I'm speaking from experience - an experience just like yours'. I was running PE7 on a dual-core processor with 4GB of memory, and was trying to process 2 hours worth of AVCHD video. Simply put, that much AVCHD video is more than your computer and memory can handle.   Remember, even if you trim back a single clip by a couple of seconds, PE and your computer must completely reorganize the entire timeline and all the data in it.  Here's a good analogy:  'Let's say that you want to take one or two 6' stripes out of a highway that goes all the way from San Fran to Miami. Then, after you take those two stripes out of the highway, you want to reorganize all the rest of the remaining stripes in the highway, for the total distance, so that every remaining stripe is an equal distance apart.'    Essentially, when you do anything, anywhere in an entire video, then the entire video has to be reorganized and re-compiled after you make your change.    Adding to the complexity of all this is the latest (and now common) video format called AVCHD.  AVCHD was developed so that small cameras could record and compile huge amounts of High Def data and compress all that data into very small packages.  Until this past year, there wasn't even any video editing software that could handle AVCHD files. Now, there are a number of software that will edit AVCHD. However, please understand that ALL of them face the same daunting task of uncompressing HUGE amounts of data and then reorganizing it to suit your desires.   Likewise, it is not uncommon for any dual-core, 4GB computer to crash at even the thought of such a task.
I have also found that many people don't realize that "just buying an HD camera and taking HD pictures" WON'T necessarily give you an end result of H.D. pictures/video.   Yes, you must have an HD camera, and it must be set to record H.D. Next, you MUST have a very capable computer, in order to process all the data you are giving to it. Next, if you want to be able to view your pictures/video in HD., you must have a Blu-ray burner, a Blu-ray player, and, of course, an HDTV.  If you don't have all of those things, then DO NOT record your video in HD to begin with. Rather, set your camera to record in DV / Widescreen.    Your pictures will still be excellent. But, you won't be asking your computer to process data that would otherwise go to waste anyway.
Reading over all this forum, it becomes quite clear that a "capable computer" is one which has a Quad-core Processor, at least 8GB of memory, a high-quality Graphics Card.   I personally also prefer Windows Vista because it has more firmware built into it to process video with.  Many people on this forum have asked if Vista 64-bit will work, and, as Steve Gresetti has explained, the answer is YES!  Simply put, if Vista-64 is running a 32 bit program, then it automatically shifts into the 32 bit mode and runs exactly as Vista 32 would.   Given that, I would strongly recommend that you get and use Vista-64 in that you'll have what you need as more and more software (including software from Adobe) becomes available in 64-bit.
Last, but not least, you asked about the difference between Premier Elements 7, and Premier Pro. Quoting directly from the engineers at Adobe, I can tell you that there is NO difference in the actual 'engines' in each software.   They both process video in the same way. Where there is a difference though is in 'features' such as Titleing tools, Effects, Audio Mixing capabilties, and much more.   So, if you are looking for more features, go for Premier Pro. But, if you are looking for more and better processing, go no further than PE7.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
Thank you for your answer. However I don't think it's a codec issue because Phone and GW are on the same Region.
Moreover with the same phone, same destinationation number, same voice channel, sometimes calls are fine, sometimes, the problem happens

  • Lacking System Resources

I have installed LabView 8.0 on a new Dell GX520 2.8 GHz computer with 768 mb of memory with Windows XP Professional installed at the factor.  We just bought the developer suite, so I installed Labwindows and Signal Express and the 8.0.1 update. We have 64 gig of disk space available.
The file system keeps getting corrupted and serveral services are not running.  Services like file sharing and the tcp/ip stack and the firewall, and Norton Antivirus are producing error messages saying that there are not enough system resources.
Labview seems to work fine.  If I turn off any service that looks like it was written by National Instruments, then the other networking services seem to work.
    The recommended memory is 256.
I have not installed any of the hardware we bought for our lab.   Is the operatiing system spending all its cycles looking for the hardware?  Do we need more memory?

Since you are apparenty using Labwindows and don't mention LabVIEW, you should post this over in the Labwindows forum.
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=180
Anyway, it seems something is terribly wrong with your system. Maybe there is a driver conflict or even a hardware problem. If the file system is getting corrupted, maybe the HD is faulty! Most HD manufacturers offer diagnostic programs that boot from the CD for free download. Worth a try. Good luck! Also see if all the case fans are running. It could also be that the HD is running excessively hot, again causing corruption.
Is this a brand new system, still under warranty? Is it a system that has been used elsewehere in the company? In the latter case, I would wipe it clean and start from scratch.

Translated into English: It was not possible to find the mail account "test_account" in the metadata directory.
    The process uses the PL <partnerLink name="mailServicePL" partnerLinkType="mail:MailService" partnerRole="MailServiceProvider" myRole="MailServiceRequester"/>
    in bpel.xml there is:

In the D:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\orabpel\domains\default\metadata there is the MailService directory containing test_account.xml
Similar problem I had with JMSService

So I don't understand what the matter is.
If you have any ideas please HELP.
