Re: retrieve monthly data

Hi,
I have 5 years of monthly data. how can I retrieve all the monthly data where the month is less than current month?
Thanks.
Gian

select *
from your_table
where date_column < add_months(sysdate, -1)
This will give you all the data from a month ago today, so this will give you all of the data after Jan 19 2007.

  • Retrieve the data from Oracle (Superior difficult)

    Dear all,
    I want to retrieve the data from the table (TABLE A), in TABLE A there are a field call RANGEFROM, However, the data type of it is "VARCHAR2". But in this field, it can contain numeric and date. Now, I want to select this field in it by a SQL statement. I want the SQL statement like this:
    "SELECT * FROM TABLE_A WHERE (to_date(RANGEFROM, 'mm-dd-yyyy')) <= 'Now()';"
    However, the result of the SQL only display in VARCHAR2 mode. That mean it can't compare the result. so What can I do?
    Thanks
    null

    As long as the input literal for formatting the date is in always like 'mm/dd/yyyy' then you may explicitly select the RANGEFROM field in your select list as to_date(RANGEFROM,'mm/dd/yyyy');
    eg:
    SQL> select to_date('01122000','mm/dd/yyyy') RANGEFROM from dual;
    RANGEFROM
    12-JAN-00
    Also this is now good for comparison:
    SQL> select SYSDATE - to_date('01122000','mm/dd/yyyy') from dual;
    SYSDATE-TO_DATE('01122000','MM/DD/YYYY')
    339.67455
    Also the same technique could be applied in your where condition as well.
    Good luck :
    (12 month wait for a response is not good)

  • Retrieve BPC data into BW 3.5 : any alternative to UD connect ?

    Hello,
    SAP BPC 7.0 (Microsoft SQL version not Netweaver) has been deployed a few month ago.
    Now the data from this tool will need to be brought into our BW 3.5 landscape for reporting, and it has been suggested by our developers that the interface is implemented using UD Connect.
    As the SAP basis guy, I did some researchs on how to connect UD connect.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/95/10fb40af87ee6fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm
    Apparently, UDconenct use the SAP BW J2EE stack, the problem is that in our case the J2EE stack has been inactivated two years ago.
    The reason for that is that BW 3.5 was initially deployed as double stack server (Abap+Java), and we encountered at that time many performances issues and stability problems (unicode, etc ...).
    We had no other choice than stopping the J2EE stack.
    (Now SAP strongly recommends to install separated systems : BI abap and BI java , in order to avoid that kid of issues)
    I'm not really keen on the idea of restarting the BW J2EE stacks...
    So, based on your BPC expercience is there any other way to retrieve BPC data into BW ?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best Regards.

    One way out can be to export SQL data as CSV file and then load data from that CSV file into BW. This can be automated if you desire so.

    I would recommend using Time Series Functions, specifically the Ago function in the RPD. This is precisely what they have been designed for and is a very powerful feature of OBIEE. This removes the need for complex formulae embedded within result columns (which you will have to replicate each time you create a new analysis).
    The syntax of the Ago function is as simple as:-
    AGO(Measure, Time Dimension Level, Number of Periods Ago) e.g.
    AGO(Core."Fact - Project Cost".Cost, Core."Date - Fiscal Calendar"."Fiscal Period", 1)
    Please mark if helpful/answered.

  • My iphone got wet, can i retrieve my data???

    Yesterday, I was at a pool party with my friends and i brought my iphone 5s that was in a water-proofed bag(its like a ziplock bag but more secure) to the pool (for you know selfies and ****) and i put the bag with my iphone in my pocket then went in to the pool. Of course, I was very unsure with this idea but my friend said it'll be okay so i just left it in my pocket for just about 1 min or 30 sec in the pool because i got worried and checked it. WELL WHAT DID I KNOW, WATER WAS IN THE BAG BUT LITERALLY MY IPHONE GOT WATER DAMAGED BY A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER IN THE BAG. And yes, i checked if the bag would be secure many times before i went in the water. So after i realized that my phone got water damaged, i immediately wiped it with a towel and blow dried it for 10 min or so but nothing occurred, screen was still black. I was trying to find a bag of rice but of course, it was a pool party, noone has a bag of rice1?!?? So i just put my iphone to sit and didnt touch it until i got home. Then after i got home, I put my iphone in a bag of rice overnight. Today, it still doesnt show any signs of resurrection so im going to take it to apple this week.
    Well, life isn't naive so i just accepted it plus im in apple care so whenever my phone gets damaged, it'll be repaired by apple but one thing i'm worried is about the data because it has been a month since i last backed up my phone.
    Can apple retrieve my data (especially my photos, photos are so important)? What should i do to retrieve it in any way possible???
    Any suggestions or advices are appreciated, thanks. But please dont suggest the rice method because as said above, ive already tried that and it doesnt work.

    rei-nxx wrote:
    so if i put my iphone back in the rice, would it work again???
    There's no guarantee, especially as you turned it on while it was still wet. Put it in the rice for a week and hope. If you can get silica gel that's better than rice.

    Hi,
    You need to change the format of that date inorder to retrive the data.
    data: date type string,
          month type string,
          year type string.
    data:  date1 type dataelement. " Here data element is data element related to your field anme.
    date = s_date-low+0(2).
            month = s_date-low+3(2).
            year = s_date-low+6(4).
            concatenate year month date into date1.
            workarea-fieldname = date1.
    Then you can use this workarea in your where condition.
    I think it useful for you.

  • After a Lion clean install, how do I retrieve my data from external back-up? Following Apple advice for use of Migration Assistant did not work creating similar issues leading to clean install.

    After a Lion clean install, how do I retrieve my data from external hard drive?
    Following Apple advice I used Migration Assistant which crashed new system twice which is why I had to clean install Lion in the first place.
    Is there a sure way of doing it?
    I have only a few programs that I will have to install myself and that should not be a problem.
    I just want my data, music and photos back where I can use them.

    Time machine backups. I went to migration assistant a few hours ago and limited my selection to "users", no need for applications, settings and other files.  Stuff started moving over at a fast pace but has now seemed to stall.
    I will let it run overnight as there are lots of songs and photos as well as a few movies.
    If that does not work, then I will go into TM and try restore. I have restored some things in the past such a mail files and it has worked well.
    The Apple fellow at the store told me to go right into TM, he may have had a point. I'll get it eventually.

    ls_sel-option = 'EQ'.
    ls_sel-low = 'PL110.
    APPEND ls_sel TO lt_sel.
    so in this case data is coming , but it is not coming for property.
    So Please can you help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Hi Rishi,
    There are 2 steps you need to do,.
    1. read all the master data with the property you required into a internal table.  in your case use ACCTYPE' = EXP
    2. read transaction data with the masterdata you just selected.
    Then you will get all your results.

  • Pb retrieving sorted data from Table in SQL.

    Hi,
    I get problem to retrieve data in the right order from table in database SQL.
    See code attached: code.png
    I want to sort data according to ID number And then to retrieve those data and fill out a ring control in the right order "descending" .
    But i got always ID 2 instead of 1. See attached  picture : control.png
    it seems that the select statement (see under) is not woking properly. But it is working well in a query in Access DataBase .
    //Select statement
       hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName));
       if (hstmt<= DB_SUCCESS) {ShowError(); goto Error;}
    Some idea ??
    Lionel.

    Hello Lionel,
    According to the document Robert linked, the prototype of DBActivateSQL() is:
    int statementHandle = DBActivateSQL (int connectionHandle, char SQLStatement[]);
    For the 2nd parameter(SQLStatement), you're sending:
    ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName)
    Probably your intention is to substitute %s with szTableName, but that's not what it happens.
    By using comma operator, ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName) is evaluated to szTableName, so you call is equivalent to:
    hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, szTableName);
    In order to substitute %s with szTableName you need to first build the string you're passing as the 2nd parameter:
    char query[512];
    sprintf(query, "SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName);
    hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, query);

    Too much code. It's also not well intented nor formatted. I don't see a question either or it got lost in that heap of unformatted code.
    I will only answer the question in the thread's subject:
    How to retrieve multiple data from table and represent it in jsp pageTo retrieve, make use of HttpServletRequest#getParameterValues() and/or #getParameter().
    To display, make use of JSTL's c:forEach.

       ORDER BY 2 DESC;I have written the query to get the latest 12 months data from a table and split that into 4 quarter to show in the Cognos Report. But when the table having 13th or the past months data, the select statement is showing Empty values in the first two columns and fetching the 13 month data too.
    Can anyone help me in this to avoid the problem.
    Thanks
