Validating a Package

Hi guys,
So I'm trying to migrate our Production SSIS 2012 Server into a new beefier box.  I believe I've installed all the necessary drivers and I have migrated the SSISDB to the new server.  My problem is, I want to make sure all the packages are executing
correctly, but it's production data that I would be executing.  My question is, is there a way to validate or test the packages to make sure they are utilizing all the drives correctly in the new box without actually running the package?

Yes multiple ways
1. you can validate packages using dtexec utility
You use
/Validate switch for that
see
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms162810(v=sql.105).aspx
2. Another way is using catalog sps like
catalog.validate_project and catalog.validate_package
in SSISDB
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ff878038.aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ff877995.aspx
3. Yet another way is doing it from SSMS GUI by expanding Integration Services Catalog -> Projects or package within it

  • I cant install java or itunes installation package could not be opened verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows package installler

installation package could not be opened verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows package installler  what can i do ? help me

    Hi,
Firstly make sure you save it to your hard disk, and then run setup from there.
If it doesn't help, you may also try to unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer and check if it helps. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Press Windows Key + R
    2. In the "run" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
    3. Press Windows Key + R
    4. In the "run" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
Besides that, You could try to create a new user to download and install the application.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • New version of fingerprint software coming up that it is not a valid MSI package

The new release for the fingerprint software, Fingerprint Software 5.9.4 for Windows 7 (64-bit) - ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkStation, is coming up that it is not a valid MSI package when attempting to install it.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The x64 version of the new fingerprint software available for download contains only part of the installer file so it's corrupted. Lenovo been notified so i'm sure it will be solved soon and a new file will be available that is complete. So unfortunately you have to wait until Lenovo provide the correct installer that is not corrupted.

  • The file 'C:\Users\netrgm\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64.msi' is not a valid installation package

I am currently at iTunes version 10.5.1.42. It is telling me there is an update. It downloads and trys to install version 10.5.2 but i keep getting this error message:
The file 'C:\Users\netrgm\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes.
Try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
The file is in the directory that is looking in, but it doesnt seem to think it is valid. I have tried several times over the last week or 2.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Error on validating installation packages

Hi I got my brand new BB 9900. It´s my first BB so I wanted to synchronise it with my Lotus Notes Calender. Downloaded the Desktop Manager and tried to install it. But it won´t work always terminates with the message that he could not validate installation packages. I read something about installing the missing certificates manually. I tried but it won´t work. Why is RIM not able to provide software which you can download and it works. It always did with my Nokia, IPhone and others.
Sry but after owning a BB 2 days I´m really disappointed.
    Im using:
    Win XP Sp3
    User ist Administrator
    Downloaded:
    610_b038_multilanguage.exe

Today downloaded same software package from Blackbarry.com (US Site) Installation worked out fine....everything ok....
seems to be its only a problem of the package you download at the german site.....
or it was only a problem of yesterday...
