if you go physical layer.. and try to create New Physical table..
Select Table type as Select and try to call your package function here...

Unable to run Oracle Form Builder from Designer 10g

I am using Windows XP with Oracle Designer 9.0.4.5. From Design Editor, I select Run -> Oracle Forms, nothing happen. I am able to open Form Builder manually (C:\ORACLE\904\bin\ifbld90.exe). After I generated a module (form) from Designer, I have to open the FMB manually from Form Builder. In Designer 9i, I am able to open Form Builder from Designer. Is this a bug for Designer 10g?

I believe this is an installation/configuration issue.
I installed Oracle Developer Suite 9.0.4, which includes Form Builder, Report Builder, and Designer. System Path contains the ORACLE_HOME (c:\oracle\904\bin). I am able to start Form Builder from DOS command (ifbld90.exe). I am also able to start Report Builder (rwbuilder.exe) and Designer (des2k61.exe) from DOS. I am able to Run Oracle Report Builder from Designer, but just not Form Builder. I also checked the Windows registry settings and they seem alright to me.

Run Oracle Form Application from a JSP File.

I have a complete customized application made on Oracle Forms (10g) and I have .fmb and .fmx files, now problem which I am facing is I have to open the Oracle Form Application from my JSP page (which is used to login the user). My JSP page is just a simple page which I have placed it in path [C:\DevSuiteHome2\forms\j2ee\formsapp\formsweb] and I run it from browser as [http://localhost:port/forms/index.jsp].
How can I start my application from this JSP page? Please your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Inside your JSP page put <OBJECT> tag with all parameters and tags to open Jinitiator or java applet..

Run Script Logic/Package from a different Application

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario here that I need to run a package from a different application. For example, I'm in Finance application and I need to run a package which is in the LegalApp application, is it possible to call that package or perhaps run the logic it was calling without having switch back to LegalApp.

To run a package that runs logic on another application, you could copy a package such as "Default Formulas" and put the name of the target application in the new package's name. Then go to Modify Package --> Advanced. Edit the package to set the application as below. The LegalApp (for example) is set on the third Task command. Default logic is called on fifth.

Is there a way to run one of the canned Oracle Projects reports from Portal? Are these Oracle Projects reports URL addressable? If so please tell me where I can find some documentation on how to do this?

Running Oracle seeded API from Custom Schema

I have a custom schema and I need to call a Oracle standard API from this schema. When I try to initialize the session using fnd_global.apps_initialize I get the following error:

Hi,
I understand that this is an issue with GRANTS. However I have granted the EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE and SELECT on all the underlying tables of this oracle package.The error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" indicates that the custom schema owner cannot select from the underlying tables. Please review the packages code again and make sure that your custom user has select privileges (or check if any public synonym needs to be created).

I checked the filename so it must be the XML format it's complaining about.

I tried running the package using just my c drive without partition, C:\Nbr_Rolls.dtsx, but still getting the same
error. I do not see any option on this site to post my package. I know it's not the path that's the issue. Our support desk already fixed that because I was getting a different message before.

Problem with running a DTS package from CF Code

i am using a CFQUERY Tag with EXEC dbo.storedprocname to
execute a stored procedure on our sql server which runs a DTS
package. the cf template allows them to upload a text file to the
server for import to a sql table via this DTS package. the problem
is that if the DTS package fails - it does nto notify the user
runnign the CF template. is there any way to notify the user when
the DTS package fails?

well the size of the data file being import varies widely.
the import is to be run daily but some days it might contain 10
records and some days it might contain 10,000. the dts package
itself generally takes a few seconds to process and the CF template
takes around 5-10 seconds to complete.
so if i were to add a dts task to the end of my work flow to
update a table with a status message, that might work, but how
would i capture the status of the dts import task?
as for the asynchronous gateway, i don't think that would
work for me, the user would want more immediate feedback, they
would not wait for an email confirmation (the target users have
trouble figuring out how to use email as it is - they are not the
most computer savvy). so likely if i could get the dts package to
write a status message to a table, then i would just add a cfquery
to my cf template after the one that runs the dts package, and
check for the status message and output it to the screen.
but the key is how do i add a dts task to grab the status of
the dts import task and drop it in a table.

Error while running the SSIS package from SQL DB to excel file - export option

hi all,
I have 4.6 million records in my sql db and i want to copy this into a excel file. for this i went to the db and rt click and export to command and started the ssis package running. but after
few minutes, it throws me an error that "error in transferring data into excel file."
Can anyone help me why this happened and the resolution ?

For example if you have a ROW_NUMBER column you can use for instance a
Conditional Split for something like:
ROW_NUMBER % 5 == 0 for Case 1 (excel 1)

ROW_NUMBER % 5 == 2 for Case 3 (excel 3)
ROW_NUMBER % 5 == 3 for Case 4 (excel 4)

Need information on running Oracle stored procedures from VB using ODP

Hi. I'm trying to run some complex queries on a list of Oracle databases from a VB application using ODP.
I've been able to execute simple queries formatted as strings on all 150 databases with no problems. Now, however the queries are more than 100 lines, and it's not practical to handle them as strings.
Can anyone point me to reference material or some samples that would show how to to this?
I've gone through this forum, but I haven't found anything starting from the very basics, which is what I need.

It might be easier just to break down the queries into smaller peices and execute them in sequence, then put the results together later.

Error while running OWB mapping package from sql prompt

i have deployed my owb mapping in oracle. Now i want to execute this from the sql prompt. the foolowing error is giving when i try to run.

I'm on BPC75 NW SP09, and Iu2019m trying to run the standard u201CCopyu201D package through BPF but it gives me following error message: IMMEDIATE RUN: Error occurred while trying to run the package on the server Data not found in table (UJD_PACKAGES2). It works fine when I run manually/directly in Data Manager.
Here my BPF settings: Interface: Data Manager; Task: RUN SPECIFIC PACKAGE; PACKAGE: Copy; FILE: /CPMB/COPY; TEAM: Company; GROUP: Data Management
I have searched other related threads to validate my configuration and I have also checked the table UJD_PACKAGES2 but it seems to be okay. The only thing that I noticed is that it does not have the TEAM populated in this table.
Any idea on how to resolve this issue? Your comments/suggestions are very much appreciated.

Run Procedure/Package From APEX

I want to be able to run a procedure/package from within APEX. The procedure is referenced from multiple sources, so I don't want to place it in APEX, it needs to stay in the package. There is no returning data. I have APEX 3.0 and 10g. It goes without saying that I'm very new to APEX, since I'm sure this is not a difficult process to perform. Thanks.

Finally got it to work. I created a Button that would trigger the Process. In addition to creating the Process, I had to create a Branch.
So thanks to your direction, it is working.
