I've had a problem with my braodband dropping for 3 months. changed everything.
How do I escalate this to somebody in the UK who won't just keep telling me I need to change the filter, "it's a little white thing"?
I've worked in IT for nigh on 40 years, I think I know what I talking about.
This is my last resort, next step is to go to BBC Watchdog. It's evident from these boards that I'm not alone.

    I like to know who can overclock FSB to higher than 450MHz if you are with v1.5 or v1.6 BIOS.
    I could do over 500MHz FSB with v1.4. Unfortunaetly, it has vCore bug, so I couldn't adjust core voltage.
    according to my personal experience, there was overclocking wall around 425MHz with v1.5 and v1.6.
    I, actually, was expecting v1.6. But that problem was still there.
    I guess MSI blocked overclocking feature on purpose due to reduce damage of there board.
    That's why they have perfomance BIOS on there beta BIOS site.
    I like to know anyone have same problem as me or all this thing happened to me only.

  • Line rate is higher than attainable rate!

    I've been on Infinity for 3 or 4 months now and have had consistently a BT profile of 72.3 to 72.86Mbps, the changes occuring after modem resets or power cycles. Attainable rate (via the standard modem hack) has been 75272 to 76184kbps. Line rate has been 500 to 900 kbps below the attainable rate.
    A few days ago we had a major power cut in the local area including here, lasting for several hours and afterwards, everything worked as normal. Just now I decided to check my BT profile and modem stats, just out of interest, as you do. The results are interesting - my profile has gone up to 75.73/20.00 and the modem stats are what I thought was impossible - line rate is much higher than the attainable rate! Stats are below.
    Line is stable and needless to say I am delighted - I am now getting speedtest d/l results 3Mbps higher than ever before (74Mbps), but can anyone explain how line rate can be above attainable rate?

    You must have a good line and probably have the cabinet in your front room!
    Who knows! I wouldn't say it would be impossible to hit pass your attainable rate, i would only take these as estimates as much as everything else.
    It was like when i was on copper, thinking my line could only sync at 4MB, but constantly synced at around 6.5-7MB which was good for me! lol!

    hi i have an ipod touch 2nd generation i dont update it to often cause i have very very slow iternet and it can take up to 4 hours and i dont have the time to update it but the bottom list of apps i dont know what its called but i think its the app bar is way higher than normal i dont know why the only app i really use is pandora i dont know if that helps

    Try a Reset of your Device... You will not lose any data 
    Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

    Only the carrier to whom the device is locked can unlock it.
    If you do not meet their requirements or they do not offer unlocking there is no official way to unlock the device.

  • Rome Total War won't let me play at resolutions higher than 1024x768

    Laptop is a GE70 2PE Apache Pro
    Every other game lets me play up to 1920x1080 but for some strange reason RTW won't go higher than 1024x768. And yes I forced the the game to use the Nvidia GPU in the Nvidia Controll panel. And yes I'm in "High Performance Mode." And yes I'm on AC power. And yes it's the Steam version. I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail. Please help.:(:(

    I received my new Verizon Edge bill in the mail and it is $80 higher than my old plan.  I have been so unhappy with this change over.  Went through hell getting our second phone activated because of a weird computer glitch and when we asked if we would receive any consideration for the time, travel, and money we put into getting the phones the way they were supposed to be, we were told to wait until the bill came and then they could make adjustments.  Now I have the bill and have no idea "who" the we would be that could make adjustments.  To top it off, the only way I know my account will get any attention is to post this in chat.  I am so disappointed and will be counting the months until our phones are paid off and we can change companies.

  • Case temp higher than cpu?

    I'm on my second board now.  I sent my first one back because I couldn't get USB working.
    I initially had problems with my replacement board.  My onboard LAN wouldn't work with win2k even after all the patches and driver updates.  I fixed it by installing winXP.  Now everything is finally working as it should except for my temps.
    For some reason my system temps are always higher than my CPU temps.  Is this right?  
    On speed fan I have the following:
    CPU temps @ 27-35c
    Case temps @ 38-47c
    I even checked my temps on my motherboard bios and they say the same thing. My first board had the same problem.  Did I plug something in wrong or am I going crazy?
    My CPU has a retail Intel HSF and I used Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound
    My case has the following:
    2 80mm intake fans on my front panel,
    1 80mm intake fan on my side panel (right on top of the HSF)
    1 80mm exhaust fan at the top (blowhole)
    1 120mm exhaust fan at the rear.

    from idle, which temps increase the fastest when running something like prime95? whichever one it is, would be the cpu temp.. you can do this test to see which is the cpu reading and which is the mobo/system reading.. better yet, take the side panel off so that you know the system reading will not change so quickly.
    thats how i configured speedfan when i first got this board. but now there is a good guide here for setting it up with the right thermal probes etc etc.
    my temps... well the rig is continuously setiing (well, while its on anyways, the highest ive seen it go is roughly 46degrees - cpu and 32 degrees - system).
    ive got 1 120mm @ 7v as a front intake,
    and errm thats basically it! haha theres 3 fans on the psu and yeah, not a hell of a lot more. the cables are neatly tucked away as muhc as possible to not hinder the airflow. im thinking of putting in 1 side intake - but probbaly not yet. wait till uni is over..

    What is the problem with iCloud? iCloud has nothing to do with iTunes syncing.

    Hi Gorge,
    The "Ref count error..." usually occurs in case of Meta Data objects not being properly cleared.  And yes, you have got the error in the right place, generally while creating tables / fields / UDOs.  For this, you just need to clear the Meta Data object (At times even DI objects like Record Set) once they are used.
    Eg: Release these objects in the below way in a Finally Block.
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oRecordSet);

    Your OS can not run iTunes higher than the version that you have now, thus no 10.6.3.

  • "Manually manage music and videos" takes up more space than syncing?

    Hello all,
    I fear that I am just stupid and unseeing an obvious answer to this query, but ask I shall, because it is frustrating me to no end.
    I recently downloaded a few audiobooks from my local library to listen to on my iPod Touch; the app in question requires that you "manually manage music and videos" rather than syncing. Fine.
    I switch over to iTunes, check the box, and now my music--without changing anything, mind--is now taking up an additional 1.8 (or more) gigs on my iPod. I toggle the option to "manually manage" on and off, and with it "on", my music takes up more space than with it "off", even though it's the same music, same podcasts.
    Can someone please explain to me why syncing manually takes up more space than syncing automatically and where the extra gigs are coming from? There's not that much audio on my iPod--1.52 gb of music, 1.97 gb of podcasts and .69 gb of apps--which only adds up to 4.18 gb, and on an 8g touch, should leave me with about 4 gb of "wiggle room", so to speak, rather than .27 gb.

    iTunes will normally put just one copy of each file on the iPod and link it to multiple playlists. If your iPod's database has been corrupted at some point however, there may be unattached copies of your meadia from earlier sync attempts, taking up space on the drive, but not visible in the library. How much space does iTunes report for Other? Excluding files placed manually & intentionally on the iPod, "other" is typically an overhead of 1%-2% of the size of the media and represents the iPod database, artwork, games etc. If you have significantly larger amounts of "other" then you will need to restore your iPod in order to reclaim the space.

  • Tv@nywhere Master - Cant capture higher than 352X288

    I have a Tv@nywhere Master and i cant capture any higher that 352x288 resolution.
    I tryed VirtualDub and Adobe Premier . They both say : Unsuported Video Format when i try to select 640x480 or 720x576 . (PAL mode)
    The original software (MSIPVS) lets me choose the format and resolution but i dont want to use it because it offers poor quality.
    I am capturing from VHS at maximum quality possible and storing it in AVI uncompressed and then use TMPEGenc to SVCD.
    Can anyone comment on this ?
    Doesnt this board capture higher than 352x288 ???

    I use it in 768x576 without any problems
    you just have to look for a   Use Smart Tee Filter  setting because the card can`t both capture and preview over 288 so you`ll need to split the data on the Capture pin in order to provide preview over 288 lines.

  • WSUS throwing 13002, "Client computers are installing updates with a higher than 25 percent failure rate. This is not normal."

    Hello,
    Within the past two months our WSUS Server started throwing error 13002, "Client computers are installing updates with a higher than 25 percent failure rate.  This is not normal."  We currently have 252 computers with errors in WSUS,
    and 33 updates with errors.  We have never had issues up until two months ago.  If you keep rebooting the machine, and keep running updates, they eventually all install.  I believe I will see the machines with errors go away as the weekly scheduled
    WSUS install runs over and over, and the machines reboot.
    - We run IE8 in our environment and sometimes IE9.
    - We have 300 clients, all running Windows 7 SP1 x64.
    - Our WSUS server is running on Server 2008 R2.  The WSUS build number is 3.2.7600.262.
    - We created an alternate WSUS 4.0 server on Server 2012, and redownloaded all updates.  We put one client on it and it is showing errors on 3 updates, KB890830, KB931125, and KB2917500.
    - Clients are throwing errors 800F0902, 80242016, and 80070005.
    - I've noticed something with the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder on the clients.  When an update runs and fails, there is a "Install" folder created inside this folder.  If you try to open it after the failure you get
    "Access Denied"  If you reboot the machine, the install folder goes away.  (I assume this is a temp folder created to run updates).  I've checked the permissions on this folder on various machines and all seems normal.  I think
    this is the root of the problem, and why we need to keep rebooting to get all of the updates to run.  
    - I tried deleting the Software Distribution folder on a client after stopping the update service, then restarting the update service.  The folder redownloads but the client still throws errors.
    - I've gone through our Group Policies looking for anything that can cause this and found nothing.  We've created a test OU blocking inheritance, and only applying a WSUS policy in it to make it get the updates internally.  I then rebuilt multiple
    machines using Dell KACE, and still had failures.
    - We run SEP 11 and 12 on our clients.  I've tried removing the AV, making sure the firewall was off, etc.  It still throws errors.
    - I've spoken with our network team, and installed wireshark on a few clients looking for network errors and found nothing.
    - I've tried various Dell KACE scripted installs on test machines (erasing and rebuilding the machines from scratch), after which I run Windows Updates from WSUS.  They have thrown errors.
    - I've rebuilt a machine using Dell KACE, undomained it, then ran updates externally from WSUS going to Microsoft's site, and I'm still getting errors.
    - I've tried removing all software from the Dell KACE build to where it is just installing the OS and I'm still getting errors.
    - I tried taking a plain Windows 7 x64 DVD and installing that on a test machine, then without domaining it and without installing any other software, running updates from Microsofts update site.  This seems to work, althrough it does throw some errors
    but I believe those are related to having to reboot your machine in order to complete the updates (I can't remember that error code at the moment).
    Has anyone else been experiencing this?  Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
