Re: WO E-Signature Approval

Hi all,
I had setup an approval Work flow for both Work order release approval & work order completion in EAM.
As far as WO Completion approval is concerned it requires an e-signature approval also via ERES.
But while trying to complete the WO, there is no notification of E-signature Approval Required to the Approver.
Pls tell me how to sort out this.
Thanks
Dinesh

I have just gone through e-signature set-up for an OPM transaction. Check the two Metalink articles as starting point:
1) 954429.1: Review the troubleshooting section and the requirements as far as workflow listener and background engine.
2) 297134.1: White Paper A Guide to set up ERES
Particularly making sure the a) AME approval group is set-up with approver, b) business event for WO completion is enabled AND subscripted, c) Workflow Background engine is run.
good luck

    Congrats!!

Several weeks ago I had received a pre-approval offer via snail mail and was also presented with a similar offer by phone when chatting with a CSR (I didn't take the phone offer at the time since I was in the middle of a few things).  So, I pondered about it for a week and decided to take the mail-in/online offer.  Lo' and behold, the application got stuck in limbo for a several weeks.  Since I was traveling, I just figured a possible decline or the application getting lost in la-la-land.  The UW called me a couple times and we played phone tag for two weeks (and then I forgot about it).  Then, just recently (7/1), I received an email approval confirmation and was able to link my account online a couple days go.  I was a bit surprised (yet pleased) on the SL (given WF is usually not too generous on initial SLs).  Worse case scenario, I'll test drive it for a while and see if it's a keeper (benefits-wise), or I can roll it over to my other WF CC

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me to understand the concept of digital signature application in SAP.  Can we use it for any Module centric functionality? For example .. I have a SD- customer Invoice , can I have a digital signature approval before the Invoice can be released?

  • Move workflow status column from one library to another in Sharepoint 2010

    Good morning,
I have two libraries in the same site, LibraryA and LibraryB.
On LibraryA, users upload documents upon which they start a collect signatures workflow. The view on LibraryA contains a column with the signatures workflow name showing status: ‘Compete’, ‘In progress’.
Now on LibraryA I have created a workflow to move any document one month after creation to LibraryB (using retention schedule) irrespective of signature workflow status.
Now what I would like is to have the signature workflow status shown in LibraryB as well. From what I understand you can add the workflow status column only on the library with which the workflow is associated. I also tried, on LibraryB, to create a new
column which Lookups in {Signature Approval History – Outcome} but this did not do the trick either.
     Any workarounds?
     Many Thanks

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to move the workflow status column to another library in SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to use another column to get the value of the workflow status column and then move this column to another library.
We can use workflow to update the column with the value of workflow status column.
However, the workflow status column stores the value with numbers which represent different status, so we need to update the column with corresponding status based on the numbers in the workflow.

  • Acrobat Pro X stamps, comments do not display at certain zoom level

A user found a bug in Adobe Pro 10.1.6.
We have both Adobe Reader and Pro installed on Server 2008.
A document stamped with dynamic signature: "APPROVED" do not show in Adobe Pro when opening.
If the zoom level is being change then the stamp do show.
Same document show the dynamic stamps in Adobe Reader.
I reported the bug through this form https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
Is there a workaround until a fix is comitted ?

    > Well, "Default" is what's in the maker.ini file as it exists "out of the box".
That's to be expected, as up until the program is run for the first time, there's no opportunity at all for it to discover the screen size. I suppose Adobe could ask during the install, but not only is that annoying (and would complicate blind installs), the answer might be impossible to know (running FM in a VM window rather than on a real display, or historically, in an X-window on Unix).
Even after FM is running, and even if using EDID API calls, I doubt FM is making such calls. When FM was first written, it was impossible for an ap to discover screen size. Up until VESA DDC2 in 1996, monitors were rarely capable of reporting anything to the attached computer. Had FM implemented DDC calls, it would have needed to add DDC/CI, then E-DDC, then several generations of EDID calls. And APIs for any of these would have been different for Unix, Mac and Windows, plus normal Windows churn.
Most users don't care. Those that do have traditionally made inquiries and discovered the maker.ini entry for this.
I might add that FM apparently can detect the aspect ratio of the screen (4:3, 16:9, 16:10), because it must know the raster extents in order to paint the windows and place the dialogs (it just doesn't know what inches or mm that corresponds to). This, I presume, is why it doesn't need to encode the A/R in maker.ini.

  • Signing and saving docs

I am creating a fillable form with Digital signature approval.  I want to have the approval sign the document and it automatically saves as a unique name so it can then be emailed to the next approver.  Help - I am not a programmer!

We have written a plugin. We do not wish to interfere with the Signing process. All we want is that the original document should be saved with the signature instead of displaying the Save As dialog.
In Acrobat 7.0, there were 2 buttons on the Sig Dialog viz. "Sign And Save" and "Sign And Save As". Sign And Save would save the signature in the same document. However in Acrobat 8, there is only one button "Sign" and this button displays the Save As dialog. The behavior is similar to Sign And Save As in Acrobat 7.

  • I want to buy Adobe Acrobat XI Pro full version... Limited access vs. full access?

I want to buy Adobe Acrobat XI Pro full version, but I don't know what the difference is between limited access to online services offered by the full version and the full access that's offered by the month-to-month version. In other words, what would I losing by acquiring the full version, rather than just paying the $19.99 per month and get full access to online services? Can someone help clear this up for me? Thanks!

    Hi dmoynihan0421,
The retail version of Acrobat costs around US449$ and the monthly subscription is available for a very nominal fee of 19.99$ per month.
The software is the same and there's no difference between the functionality of Acrobat except that in the retail version you have a serial number to permanently activate the software whereas in subscription Acrobat validates the license very month to check if the subscription is active or not.
The main difference between the two however is the Adobe Online services.
When you buy Acrobat XI Pro as a one-time purchase, you get only Acrobat software. No online services are included.
When you subscribe to Acrobat Pro in select countries, you pay a low monthly fee to get:
Acrobat XI Pro desktop software, including any upgrades
The FormsCentral Plus online service for creating and distributing web forms
The Adobe PDF Pack online service that makes it easy to create, convert, and combine PDFs in your browser
Acrobat.com for storing and sharing files in the cloud
The details of these services are as follows:
Adobe online services extend your Acrobat XI working environment to help you streamline and simplify your projects:
Adobe FormsCentral makes it fast and easy to create, distribute, and analyze forms. A desktop version of the online service is included in Acrobat XI Pro. Using the FormsCentral desktop app, you can create unlimited PDF forms for free from scratch or by using professional templates. If you subscribe to Acrobat Pro† or open a free or paid account with the FormsCentral online service, you can also use the desktop app to build web forms and manage form distribution and analysis.
Adobe EchoSign makes it easy to get rid of paper signatures forever. If you open a free or paid account with the service, you can use the Sign pane in Acrobat XI to send documents to others for signature approval and track results online. Recipients can sign electronically without installing software or creating an EchoSign account.
Acrobat.com lets you store and access your files online from within Acrobat or Reader on any device when you sign up for a free account or subscribe† to Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard.
Adobe PDF Pack lets you create, combine, and export PDFs from any browser or mobile device. PDF Pack is included when you subscribe† to Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard — or you can open a paid account.
Adobe Send is an Adobe online service that lets you send and track large files — including audio and video — without the headaches of email size restrictions. Paid subscriptions are available.

  • Adobe EchoSign - January 2015 release

With 2015 well underway, we’re delighted to announce our new January release of Adobe EchoSign. We focused this release on addressing some of the top customer feature requests that you’ve been asking for, as well as some terrific new innovations. Here’s my POV around some of the top new capabilities. Enjoy!
Microsoft Office 365 Integration:  Documents can be sent for signatures directly from Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. The integration app will be published to the Office App store and will be available for install as soon as it is approved.
Digital Signatures – this releases delivers a technical beta of capabilities that are often required in Europe, South America, and key verticals such as bio-pharma, financial services, and more.
New e-sign experience extended to all workflows: The new, re-designed, modern e-sign experience is available for all signature/approval workflows.
Save and resume during signing: This is a top request that we’ve delivered on! Any data that the signers enter during the signing process gets automatically saved. Signers can pick up where they left off and complete signing the document.
Expanded REST APIs: We continue to make it easier for our customers and partners to build richer integrations with EchoSign through SOAP and REST APIs. This release includes several enhancements to our APIs, most notable among them is the ability to embed the entire EchoSign sending experience into external applications and provide the full EchoSign feature set into external applications.
Auto delegate signing request: Yet another feature that customers absolutely love. Signature requests can be automatically delegated to another individual within the organization when the original signer is out of the office, like when on vacation. We call this the “vacation feature.”
There also several dozen bugs and customer issues that have been fixed in this release. Additionally an update to the Android App improving support for phones has been published and available for download from the Google Play App store.  Enjoy!

Yes, Adobe Reader and Adobe Reader Mobile are still free and available from Adobe.  Where? Visit adobe.com.
    Or -  http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Untick the boxes for the optional offers if you do not want them.
    Be well...

  • Oracle Quality Specification

    Dear All,
Currently i am migrating oracle quality specification data to oracle but i unable to find the status of quality specification screen because when i save any record the status show "Draft" and when i change the status by Tools--> Request e-signature Approval then its status changed into "No Approval Required" kindly advice what is the purpose of status field when it is in "Draft" status and when it is in "No Approval Required" status.

    I have found my query
    Specification Creation
The e-record and e-signature capturing process starts after a specification is created and
you select Request eSignature Approval from the Tools menu in the Specifications
window (See: Defining Specifications). The specification has a status of Draft
until you request e-signature approval. You can enter your signature online, while the
event is happening in the window or in deferred mode. Any users responsible for
additional required signatures receive workflow notifications informing them that their
e-signature must be entered before the specification is approved for use. The workflow
notification includes links to the e-record. You can view the status of the specification at
any time. The Status field in the Specifications window shows whether the specification
is draft, pending approval, approved for use, rejected, or no approval required. Select
eRecord Details from the Tools menu to view the e-record associated with the
    specification.

  • NPD - Red in / Amber in days at project template level

    Hello,
    Project template ->
    Project team TAB ->
Amber in days / red in days
May I assume it the expiration time for team leaders to maintain users per stage in projects?
    Thanks
    Daniele

The amber and red days represent how many days the system will allow the project to stay in that stage before it turns amber and/or red.
For example, if stage 2's red days is 5, then when the project enters stage 2 it will turn red in 5 days if the project is still in stage 2.
This green/amber/red date is used throughout NPD to represent if something is late or not. For example, you can see the red date on the Signatures/Approval tab. You can also see a red/amber/green indicator on the action items listing on the "Strategic Briefs and Projects" tab.

  • Digital certification

    Hi,
I have a request to grab a word document in DMS, convert it to PDF and digitaly sign it with a digital certificate from a card in a card reader.
Is there anyway to do this?
    Best regards,
    Ricardo

    Hi ,
This is possible in SAP with the usage of Digital signature approval system which should be attached to the status of the status network workflow. There is something called signature strategy where you need to define the process.
    Hope this helps.

  • Two signatures required on a document-one person applies both signatures and approves the document

Does anyone know how to disallow someone from putting two digital signatures on a document when one signature is for the employee and the other is for the supervisor's approval? We have never allowed digital signatures because someone raised this question because they were able to create a digital signature in their supervisor's name and affix it on the document in the approval space. Is there any way to tell that both signatures were created by the same person?  I only have LiveCycle Designer 9.0 and Adobe Acrobat Pro X.  It seems that there should be some code in the signature details that shows that they were both created at the same source. I've checked the certificates details on multiple names that I created and they were different every time I affixed a signature (even one for my dog) so there was no way that I could see, that we could prove that the signatures were or weren't both affixed by the same person. Until I have a way to stop this from happening, we cannot use digital signatures on our documents. There needs to be a way to trace the signature back to the source.

There are many ways to generate a digital certificate (digital ID) that can be used to sign a document.  In your post you are describing what are referred to as "self-signed" certificates.  This means that any user can create their own identity (as you have discovered) and sign a document with it.  Acrobat and many other utilities are available that can be used to generate self-signed certificates.  Using self-signed certificates can be useful in a scenario where you have established some level of trust with the signer.  Usually this involves a relationship with the signer where you have explicitly trusted their digital certificate by importing the public key portion of their digital id.  This use of signatures is not suited for non-repudiation, but it does allow you to determine if the document was modified or tampered with after it was signed.
When you need signatures to also guarantee the identity of the signer, then you must implement some type of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).  A PKI handles the creation, issuing and revocation of digital certificates (digital ids), typically a user must prove they are who they say they are for the system to generate them a digital certificate.  VeriSign and Entrust are two examples of PKI vendors.  Trust of the signer can then be implicit, you "trust" the issuer (or Certificate Authority (CA)), therefore you trust the signatures generate with certificate that came from the  Certificate Authority.  When a certificate is created by a CA, there is a "certificate chain" so you can determine who (which CA) issued the certificate.
I hope this helps clear things up a bit.
    Regards
    Steve
