Read Log Corrupt :(

Hi,
I have the following scenario
database (10g r2) is on achieve log mode on linux server. and i have multiplex my redolog files on 3 disks.
My redolog file are corrupt due to disk failure, how to recover them from other disks on with i have multiplexed them.
- Nimish Garg

You don't recover redo log files. If you have a corrupted redo log file and is giving error to you, you should remove that redo log's information with alter database command. As you mentioned that the disk is corrupt, so the next step would be correct the error, create another member over the mount point and use it.

  • RMAN-05501: RMAN-11003 ORA-00353: log corruption near block 2048 change

    Hi Gurus,
I've posted few days ago an issue I got while recreating my Dataguard.
The Main issue was while duplicating target from active database I got this errors during the recovery process.
The Restore Process Went fine, RMAN Copied the Datafiles very well, but stop when at the moment to start the recovery process from the auxiliary db
Yesterday I took one last try,
I follow same procedure, the one described in all Oracle Docs, Google and so on ... it's not a secret I guess.
The I got the same issue, same errors.
I read soemthing about archivelogs, and the Block corruption and so on, I've tried so many things (register the log... etc etc ), and than I read something about "catalog the logfile)
    and that's waht I did.
But I was just connect to the target db.

I think this problem on your disk.

    Hi Tracy,
I don't suspect Malware yet, Id guess Disk corruption or failing Hard Drive with Files not found.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • Error reading log

    Hi guys,
I’m having some troubles with the Log Viewer tool.
I’m monitoring my XI development through three files: defaultTrace.trc, applications.log and xi.log, I’m reading these files using the Visual Administrator Tool -> Cluster -> Server -> Services -> LogViewer. Everything was working fine, but suddenly when I tried to reopen a file, the tool was not being able to display any file at all. The error message thrown is:
LogDataSourceException(./log/defaultTrace.trc) Error reading log caused by Error reading log: Error during browsing buffer data (./log/defaultTrace.0.trc)!

I tried to solve this problem by restarting the LogViewer service but it didn’t work. Then, I restarted the J2EE Server with the transaction SMICM, open again the Visual Administrator and check the logs with the LogViewer and was working again, but after some time I was getting the same error again.
Any idea of how to solve this?
    Cheers,
    Mauricio

    Hi All,
I had same issue trying to edit sat.trc file, I fixed this problem by manual editing sat.trc file and modified the following line:
    <!FORMATTER[com.sap.tc.logging.perf.PerfFormatter]/>
    change to:
    <!FORMATTER[com.sap.tc.logging.ListFormatter]/>
after changes you will able to open file with Visaul Admin Log Viewer or standalone logviewer.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards

    Hi Colin,
Thanks for your help, You are right I have change the permission of /opt/netpoint/webgate/access/oblix/lib/libxmlengine.so.
Now I am able to access the logon page of the access manager.
But the problem as I mention in (https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2549716) my ObSSOCookie value is still loggedcontinue.
My Authentication return (ExecutionStatus.SUCCESS) Successful from the Java Code , and I am unable to login in the application. The thing is I can't manipulate ObSSOCookie from Java code.
I have apply Patch 12363955 to resolve this issue. But this patch is now to resolve this issue.
Have you any idea how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

    Hello @larrycarol99,
I understand that after upgrading your computer when you plug in an ethernet cord you get a hardware malfunction error. I am providing you with a Microsoft Support document: Hardware Malfunction Results in System Error Message that explains what causes that error and provides steps on fixing it. I am also including a link to the Compaq Presario 5300US Desktop PC Drivers page, which unfortunately does not have any drivers for your computer running Windows Vista.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Where are adobe reader log files?

Where are the log files for Adobe Reader?
When one of our clients opens a form off our liquid office server we receive an error.  If possible I would like to find a log file that might give some sort of clue as to why this is happening.  Thanks

I'll make an inquiry about that and if we have to contact liquid office at some point my guess is they may request that we do that if there is likely to be any useful information there.  It is likely going to be pretty difficult as we have lots of clients opening forms constantly throughout the day.
I did find adobearm log file and also adobereaerbroker log file in the temp files on my own.  So it does seem like reader logs some of it's activities.  I haven't examined them completely yet but a quick comparison between a working machine opening our problem form and the one the computer that doesn't open it properly seems to show no obvious differences.  They both seem to show problems with access denied and registry entries.  However one works and the other doesn't even with the same issues in the log.

  • Errors occurred in the integration checks (read log)

    Hello Everyone ,
I am working on cross companycode- cost accounting
In the previous screen i said i am not getting cost elements box in transaction code KP06 , anyhow i am entering the itemoverview screen using one cost element which i appearing automatically and in here i am allocating funds to various activity types( here aslo its showing just one cost element as in the main screen of KP06 there was any Box asking me to enter cost element) , so i am giving all activity types with cost element plan fixed cost(entering an amount of 2000for all activity types )
&plan variable cost (entering an amount of 1000 for all activity types)  nothing in plan fixed cons & plan variable consum.....remember this is just for practice purpose i am taking these small figures.
Now when i am trying to save this its giving me error which is as follows:
Errors occurred in the integration checks (read log)
    Message no. GP542
    Diagnosis
The data entered or changed in this planning transaction should not only be updated in controlling, but also in the related applications (such as profit centers).
These applications check the data to be posted beforehand to guarantee that the update is performed without any problems.
However, errors or warnings occurred during this check.
    System Response
    Data is not updated.
    Procedure
Look to see which errors occurred using the function "Error log...",. "Plan Integration...".
Can anyone please help me with this one .
    Thanks ,
    Mohammed samiuddin

    Hi,
I am also getting the same error message when I am trying to post activity type rates using Tcode KP26.
Can you please let me know how you solved this issue?

  • Reading Logs Remotely

    Hi,
Is there a way to get a remote console.app to read logs os a OS X server machine?
    Thanks

    J R3 wrote:
    Should I follow these instructions?
"Configuring Remote Logging on a Client Computer"
I did that but nothing in my console.app is different.
You need to follow the "configuring remote logging on a client computer" steps on the system that will be sending its log files. You need to follow the "Configuring Remote Logging on a Server" steps on the computer that you want to receive the log files.
Also ServerAdmin should work. If you look at the log on the server is it empty? That could point to some other issue.
    Hope that helps!

  • Applying transaction log corrupted database?

    Hi experts,
    Symptoms:
I built a standby system this Monday and I completed a full DB restore without errors. I used log shipping to apply logs but an error occurred: SQL Server detected a logical consistency-based I/O error: incorrect pageid (expected 20:5746350; actual 0:0). It occurred during a read of page (20:5746350) in database ID 5 at offset 0x00000af5d5c000 in file 'l:\TCPDATA4\TCPDATA19.ndf'.
I run dbcc page and found page(20:5746350) did corrupt on standby system. However, I ran dbcc page on production and it is ok. I restored this full db to another standby and ran dbcc page and it is ok. Also, Checkalloc, Checkcatalog, Checktable on production are ok.
    Questions:
Does checktable detect secondary indexes corruption? I am re-compressing COSP indexes and running full checkdb on production right now to find out what's going on in our DB. How do I fix this issue? Any information will be really appreciated.

    Hi Dennis!
I understand your reasonable doubt, but think that physical corruptions are 99,999...% caused by a hardware failure e.g. a defective RAM module, or a related, low-level failure as e.g. an outdated NIC driver, etc.
Then, in this case it is clear that you have a platform problem only on your standby system, and not in the one running productively right now.
Maybe you already checked your platform, but you should take into account that in most cases just reading the logs is not enough; stress tests on all of the components are usually necessary. Most of the time, when we analyze hardware related problems, the problem is only reproduced when special tests are performed. Furthermore it is possible that more than one component is weak or broken.
My recommendation is that you check the components in this order:
       - disks (complete surface) (while SAP and SQL Server are shut down)
       - disk controller
       - Memory (stress test)
       - CPU
       - all other components
Consider that restoring a backup and running in a damaged platform would imply further problems. You would be waiting until the next problem arises and that would imply a system halt or corruptions, maybe even with data loss.
Once the hardware checked and -if necessary- fixed, you can proceed as explained in SAP notes 142731 and 1420452. Of course you can also restore in a different hardware, but remember checking the platform as it is also exposed to hardware failures.
    Cheers!!
