Reading and Inserting Value in Long Raw

Hi guys !!
I have a table with 15 columns out of which RESUME column has data type long Raw. I want to copy this table to another table with selectd columns and validation. I want to check whether RESUME column is NULL. How to achieve it ?
Similarly, using VB how to insert and retrieve values in such column ?

do one thing ,
Create a summary item for detail amount column, say m_tot_amt
Set its fol. properties
Calculation Mode : Summary
Summary : Sum
Summ.Blk : Your detail blk
Summ. Item : Your detail amount item
Also, Set Query all records of your detail block as Yes
Then In PRE-INSERT/ PRE_UPDATE of detail block, write
:COP_ORDER_HEADER.DISCOUNT_AMOUNT := nvl(:m_tot_amt,0) ;

If your initial database is non-unicode and your target in unicode, your length 1998 cannot insert into varchar2(2000). If I well remember, there is a ratio for size from non-unicode to unicode : x3. That's why Oracle cannot insert 1998 from non-unicode to varchar2(2000) into unicode.

Maint. Status in Dictionary: Maintain View- setting read and insert only.

I am creating a maint. view for a custom table I have created. Say the view was accessed via sm30, the user should be able to view existing records and insert new records, but not delete or change existing records.
When in the Dictionary:Maintain View (from se11), I am on the Maint. Status tab and I see several options for access:
-read only
-read, change, insert, delete
-read and change
-read and change (time specific)
The problem is, there is no option for READ and INSERT. Does anyone know how to limit the access to this?

A workaround is to allow everything in DDIC and modify the function's PAI (se30 generation) to disallow whatever you want.

You can achieve the use case you describe with partial page rendering (PPR), a feature of the ADF Faces framework. Here are a few posts that achieve an interactive behavior using PPR. Off the top of my head I do not know of an exact example, but this should be a good starting point:

How to receive parameters from a form and insert values in db using servlet

This is the basic code structure and I'm trying to figure out this special case with handling the multiple parameters:
1. I dont' want to use String []a=request.getParameterValues("studentname"); as hard code. The reason being the number of rows will be diyamic and I would like to get the column name and then then use an array of string to take values. But how can I connect these to form a query so that the rows goes on inserted one after other.

I'm something close to it but this segment of code throws a NullPointerException Error. I counted number of rows and columns using the methods getColumnCount() and getColumnName(i).

Insert image to long raw column Oracle 9i PL/SQL

I am trying to insert a .jpg image into an Oracle 9i table datatype long raw. I am coding in PL/SQL. I have researched inserting images and all I get back is the cool dbms_lob utility info. I cant change the column type to a blob - the database is a people soft delivered table and I am not allowed to change it.
Has anyone done this?
Does anyone have sample code?

How to insert records with LONG RAW columns from one table to another

Does anybody know how to use subquery to insert records with columns of LONG RAW datatype from one table to another? Can I add a WHERE clause in the subquery statement? Thanks.

Insert into ... Select statements are not supported for long or long raw. You will have to either use PL/SQL or convert your long raw to blobs.

I'm pulling my hair out--thank you for any help you can give

I have a form that a person fills out that has a field that

many visitors including you" and I'd like them to type in a

on submit of the form, have that value -2 multiplied by 20

into a "total cost" column.

To pass the details to a thank you page, you would need to
store the
information in $_SESSION variables. You could amend the
earlier script

How to parse XML Column and insert values into a table

I am working on a simple project to demonstrate how to load and extract XML using SQL, I have already made a table that contains a column of XMLTYPE and loaded an XML file into it (code below)

I now however need to get the XML data back out of that and loaded into a new table. Troubleshooting guides I have read online seem to only be dealing with parsing an external XML document and loading it into a table, and not what I need to do which is parse a column of XML data and load that into a table. The project trivial with simple tables containing only 3 columns.
The table that needs to be loaded is as follows:

Attached is the code, there seems to be an issue with referencing the other table, Inventory.Inv, I checked and that table and the Inv column are showing up in the database so I am not sure why it is having issues locating them, take a look at the code I wrote as well as the output (*I included the real version number for you this time :)

Read and write Values from Configuration File in BizTalk

There is a requirement where Biz talk orchestration read the value dynamically from Config Store.After some process updating the value in config store.
I though to use SQL Server and create one table with single column.Biztalk will call the Storeproc to get the value and similary for update system will call another SP.
Instead of using SQL Server DB is there option to implement this requirement like app.config,BTSsvcxxexe.config ,SSO Config store etc.
If multi-users access the value from Config store and try to update ,how to handle lock mechanism.

Refrain from using BTSConfig file or any custom config file if you have a requirement to update the data. Modifying a
configuration file at runtime can cause some nasty, unexpected behavior inside your application if it's not managed properly.
I would suggest you to use Custom DB or SSO Database in this case.
Both have their Pros and Cons.
SSO Database:
You get out of the box encryption
It is a central store which will service all BizTalk servers within your group
SSO implements a caching mechanism internally for the data
Custom DB:
By storing the configuration in the database you don’t have to worry about consistency of data across servers like you would with a config file.
Cache needs to be implemented by program to avoid delays in reading from physical file.
In your case I recommend to go with SSO DB as in terms of storing custom configuration data in SSO for End Point/Application
specific information and credentials and potentially configuration information which you also need to write and update at runtime from your code or via an administrator.
You can use Richard Seroter's tool to store values as "Config Store" in SSO database and then write a .net helper
utility to retrieve it using SSOConfigStore class. It has method GetConfigInfo and you need to pass application name with other parameters. It returns ConfigurationPropertyBag from where you can read property name and values.

Read and sort values present in .ini file

Hi all,
I have a .ini file in which a set of modules with there order of execution is mentioned.I want to get all these values sorted as an array so that I can proceed with the execution of each in the order mentioned.The module list in the .ini file looks like this:
Here, digits represent the order of execution of module.
I should get output as an array with following values:
1 MNO
2 DEF
3 STU
4 PQR
5 GHI
6 VWZ
7 ABC
8 JKL
I know about config data and read key vis but since the module list is huge I dont know how to write an efficient code for this.All suggestions are welcome.

Sorry but it didnt work. I am getting error 'Another Order is running please exit' and client could not get inserted in client_log table when client_count !=0 BUT when I give say Client_count>5 then it will insert client in table but then again one problem suppose i have checked 2,5,9,10 clients it will be inserted in table in 2,10,9,5 sequence. Can we make it in same sequence in which I have checked in form.

BareCode reader and insert String into actual selected JTextField

Hi everyone,
I can't invent anything appropriate about my concept. I would like to write a program for BareCode reading. I have working code witch gets a text string from reader which is connected over RS232. But I have to send this String to actual selected JTextField in other java program. I think to use clipboard to overcome this problem but I'm not sure if it's a good solution. Copy this String to clipboard and auto Paste... Any ideas ?

Hmm... I missed that bit about having to poke it into
another Java program. In that case I would
look into modifying the other Java program instead of
trying to write a separate program to deal with it.
Otherwise you run into management issues like making
sure the other program is running, and not minimized,
and located at the right place on the screen, and has
the JTextField in question in focus, and so on.In most cases, I would agree. But if his java program is header-less and just responds to the serial events and calls Robot.keyPress() and Robot.keyRelease() he will just be imitating the keyboard, which is exactly what most barcode readers can already do. And this would work in any program that can get keyboard input, no matter what the language was written in.
We are currently doing this with a web-based application. The web page just has a text field and when they scan the barcode it submits the page. Of course the barcode reader we are using just imitates the keyboard, no mucking around converting serial data into keyboard events.
I bet if the OP looks around he could find software that will already convert the barcode RS232 data into keyboard events.

Well....i did that....but what is ImageIO?....
I declared a ImageIcon imageIO, but this give me the following:
rec_ima3.java:49: cannot resolve symbol
