Reading File Path of local system from Server

Hi All,
I need a small help. I am uploading two csv files and reading them through a servlet. My application is working fine in localystem. but when the same code is uploaded it is not working. (I am using Tomcat Server).
It is giving "File not found exception". It is unable to read the local system csv file.
I dont want to save that file in server, but i want to read the file contents.
please help me how i can achieve this.
I apologize for my poor English.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Devi.

When uploading, do you send the actual file or only the file path? Only the last will work when the server and the client are located at the same machine. And that's a common mistake of beginners while implementing file upload.

Why is the Oracle database server to be used? For what purpose?
There are standard secure methods for a client to copy a file to a server. Such as sftp and scp. No complex Oracle database server layer needed in-between.
So why do you want to use the Oracle database to act as the copy mechanism for you?
It will only make sense if the local file is copied into the database (as a LOB or securefile) and managed by the database. I fail to see why Oracle should be acting as the go-between for the client file system copy process to the server file system. This introduces another moving part in the copy process. Adds more security issues. Adds more authentication issues. And what for?

  • Error while reading ID of own business system from the SLD for system D18

    Dear guru's,
I have almost completed a file2proxy scenario but I'm stuk on the following.
When sending a message the outbound adapter says:
<b>Error while reading ID of own business system from the SLD for system D18 and client 200</b>
What's the problem? I'm using a HTTP connection in the comm. channel. In this http connection a user with SAP_ALL is defined.
    Any suggestions?

      </SAP:Error>

Login to system D18 and client 200 and check the TC SLDCHECK and also as per my pervious message check the entries in the SLDAPICUST, it should point to the Server on which SLD is present usually XI server https.
Actually what happens in this error is when you are done with the configuration part in the ID, you are trying to eceute the scenario File to proxy, when it comes to identify the receiver system which is D18 clnt 200, it goes to SLD to check it and SLD is trying to ping to the machine D18 this connection is set from the TC SLDAPICUST on the machine D18.
here the problem is that either the D18 is not able to ping to the SLD and also try refreshing the SLD cache.
    Hope you problem is fixed

Its better through any tools (such as(WINFTP or WINSCP) you copy all the package structure into your local machine. For decompling all files in one go you can make use of JAD that is easily downloadable over net.

    Hi Mani,
    Solution 1:
Check if the techncal system has associated Business system. I think there is something wrong in your SLD configuration and try to correct it.
    Solution 2:
Create a Business system in the ID, and create the communication channel do the respective changes in ID ( I.e Receiver agreement, Receiver determination & Interface).

  • Problem in reading the excel file path in WINDOWs machine from UNIX environ

    Hello friends,
My requirement is to read each row of the excel sheet and sent that row to the database. I have implemented it by using jxl and apache poi framework. locally in my WINDOWS machine it is working fine..
But when i deploy the code in UNIX machine. My application runs on a Unix server , trying to read the excel file in WINDOWS environment. I am not able to retrieve the file path. for ex : C:\Documents and Settings\sabbanik\My Documents\KARUNAKAR\excel.xls
I am getting error in this line
    workbook = Workbook.getWorkbook(filepath)
Error message : input file not found.
    Thanks in advance..

You said: I am getting error in this line workbook = Workbook.getWorkbook(filepath) >
Based on this, I will assume you are trying to use OLE to access information about the Excel file. As mentioned by Andreas, your code will be executing on the server (Unix) and since Excel isn't on the server (and cannot be) an error will result. OLE can only be used in Windows environments (client or server). To access client side OLE calls and content, you need a java bean and Excel installed on the client machine. Oracle provides WebUtil as an option to writing your own Java Bean. To use this, you will need to be running Forms 10.1.2 or newer. Details can be found here along with a demo:

  • How to invoke a Batch file in a remote system from JSP

    Hi,
Please help me. Its urgent. Here is the problem.
I have Tomcat Server installed in machine A and I have .bat or a perl script file in an another system called Machine B in the same LAN. I want to invoke the .bat file or shell script in the machine B from my JSP running in Tomcat in Machine A. Help is appreciated.

The first thing to be done is that the bat / perl script file should be shared at the remote machine. Means that could be accessed by giving any url.
After that read that file in jsp by opening file input stream for that file and create/save the file by same name at the machine from where the jsp is running by creating file output stream.
Once the file gets created at the machine, execute that by Runtime.exec method. Don't forget to close the streams just after the reading/writting.

    Hi,
Did you create a file screening policy on the drive to prevent you from saving .msg or specified files? Can you save these files on other drives?
If the issue only occurred on the specified drive, please check the state of the drive and repair it if necessary.

  • File transfer to multiple clients from server socket

I have multiple clients connected to my server socket and I need to copy more than 200mb documents from server to all clients over socket. Can we design the issue considering scalability and performance factor? What I am thinking of we should use thread for transferring file from server to client. But at the same time if we have large number of clients then we can't initialize a thread for each client. I think in this case we should initialize less than 10 threads in the pool as the file size is very large. If we keep number of threads in the pool low then probably we have to read multiple times the large server file (once for each group) which might again be a performance bottleneck. Please pour in your suggestions.

File would be same for an instance only. For example say I have a "SEND File" button & File Path text box. In File Path suppose user enters the absolute path of the file and then clicks on Send File button. The responsibility of Send File button would be sending the file mentioned in the "File Path" text box to all connected client. But next time user can choose a different file.
