Reading Package Dependency File Information

Hi All,
I want to scan for depency file for a package before installtion and list those file information. How to achive this using java Code?
Thanks in advance
Sethu

Try this code,
import java.io.*;
class ListFiles {
     public static void main(String a[]) {
          ListFiles lf = new ListFiles();
          File dir = new File("D:/"); //Input the mapped CD-ROM drive here. For me it is D:/
          File[] files = dir.listFiles();
          for(int count=0;count<files.length;count++) {
               File file = files[count];
               if(file.isDirectory()) lf.displayFiles(file);
               if(file.isFile()) lf.checkAndDisplay(file);
     private void displayFiles(File dir) {
          File[] files = dir.listFiles();
          for(int count=0;count<files.length;count++) {
               File file = files[count];
               if(file.isDirectory()) displayFiles(file);
               if(file.isFile()) checkAndDisplay(file);
     private void checkAndDisplay(File file) {
          String name=file.getName();
          if(name.endsWith(".txt")) {
               System.out.println("Name of the file : "+name);

  • Reading an XML file from package .....

    I m trying to read an xml file from a package. The XML file is located on desktop (not on unix system). if i mention the path of the file in a package, is it sufficient ???. OR do i need to CREATE DIRECTORY in oracle and mention the file path in this directory ???
    If not any suggestion or advice is great ???

    Depends upon the version of Oracle being used. Going from memory, I think it started with 10g that you had to CREATE DIRECTORY and then use that object in references to disk. It could have been 9i as I skipped that version. If you look at the documentation for whatever provided procedure you are calling it will tell you what it expects.
    As the code runs on the server the DB resides on, the data file will need to be network accessible from there in order for your code to read the file.

  • Read from Measurement File Express VI - Time information

    I need some assistance with a small problem with building reports of collected data. I don't see it very relevant, but I'm collecting data from several modules on a 9074 cRIO. I'm not using the cRIO the way it is intended, but it is perfect for my needs. Anyway, I'm collecting the different types of data in RT, then using the express VI "Write to Measurement File" with TDMS option selected and one time column only selected. Also one header, etc. Nothing fancy.
    In another VI I want to use this collection of .tdms files to create an Excel report. Everything is working good however I need a time column for reporting my data. When I view the .tdms file using Excel Importer, the time column is there and perfect, with the next column a relative time (or iteration) and then columns with the signal names at top and all the data below. Perfect.
    I'm similarly using the "Read from Measurement File" Express VI to get the data back the same way it went in. I have everything in it's correct place on building the Excel Report, but I haven't been able to find any way to include the first time column in my import. I can use "Get Attributes" Express VI to get the signal names from the read, but that's not going to help with the time data. How is it possible that Labview allows to put the time data there, but not retrieve it? I'm aware of the warnings that Timestamps aren't supported by TDMS file format vs LVM, but there MUST be a way to retrieve that time information if "Excel Importer" can do it.
    If that time column in the TDMS file is somehow computed using the start timestamp and dt, can someone explain how to compute that for my report?
    Unfortunately, I can't use the LVM format because I need to allow the users of these VI's the backup of using Excel Importer to see this data if my report generation VI is not functional.
    I'll attach one of the TDMS files for illustration. The first column of the second worksheet is exactly the data I need for my report.

    DylanC,
    Your solution works as needed. Thank You.
    I think I found a better solution though. Apparently if you convert a signal from the Express VI "Read from Measurement File" into a waveform the time data required is included, then you can convert to a string with a for loop and insert it as a row header into a table. The result gives me what I need. I attached a screenshot if someone is interested.

  • How to make SSIS packages automatically read the input file from a path?

    Currently I am using a SSIS package to read data from a .dat file and load it into SQL Server tables.
    I am placing the input .dat file on the desktop. In the connection manager -> Browse option, I am pointing this file to create connection.
    The file naming convention is like - aSNAP_Data_20140926_P-2014-09-26_07.02.36
    However, I need the SSIS package to automatically read the input file from a folder which is located in a remote server. This folder has lots of files where input files are added on a daily basis with the date value in the file name as mentioned above.
    I want to schedule the SSIS package to run daily and take the latest file in the folder based on the date.
    Please let me know how to do it. Any help would be highly appreciated.....
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi SQL_SSIS_Dev,
    According to your description, you want to get the latest file from a path to a SQL Server table. After testing the issue in my environment, we can refer to the following steps to achieve your requirement:
    Create two variables, VarFolderPath stores the folder path in which our files exist, VarFileName hold the value of most recent File Name.
    Drag a Script Task from SSIS Toolbox to Control Flow Pane, then select “User::VarFolderPath” as ReadOnlyVariables, select “User::VarFileName” as ReadWriteVariables.
    Then Edit Script with the C# code below:
    Add “using System.IO;” into namespace.
    Add the code below under Main function:
    var directory= new DirectoryInfo(Dts.Variables["User::VarFolderPath"].Value.ToString());
                FileInfo[] files = directory.GetFiles();
                DateTime lastModified = DateTime.MinValue;
                foreach (FileInfo file in files)
                    if (file.LastWriteTime > lastModified)
                        lastModified = file.LastWriteTime;
                        Dts.Variables["User::VarFileName"].Value = file.ToString();
    Drag a Data Flow Task to Control Flow Pane and connect to Script Task.
    In the Data Flow Task, drag a Flat File Source with a file in the source folder as all the files have same structure as the File name.
    Add the property below the Flat File Connection Manger expression:
    Property: ConnectionString      Expression: @[User::VarFolderPath] +"\\"+ @[User::VarFileName]
    Drag an OLE DB Destination that connect to the Flat File Source, then configure a table to store the data.
    The following screenshot is for your reference:
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Problems with File Information and installing Adobe Reader

    Dear Forum,
    monthes ago I updated 10.3 to 10.4 now I have 10.4.6. Since the update I have been unable to access file Information (ie, as from key short cut: apple+I). Now I am trying to install Acrobat Reader and I cannot succeed.
    Any of you can suggest me what is wrong and what should I do? Possibly without having to reinstall MacOS again?
    Thank for help!
    Marco

    Your suggestion of creating a new account was useful for installing acrobat Reader.
    If I understand correctly, you were able to install Acrobat Reader while logged into the new account. If so, then the problem's within the old account. Preferential Treatment is at http://homepage.mac.com/jonn8/as/html/pt.html.
    my access to the update COMBO is problematic
    If you can connect to the internet, get the COMBO update from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1046comboforppc.html; it has nothing to do with the installation disk.

  • Problem of setting version entry in depend file of package

    I am working on creating a package pkg1 that depend on pkg2, so I added a depend config file in the prototype.
    From the man page of depend, I should add the following entries in the depend file:
    type pkg name
    (arch)version
    (arch)version
    So I added the following entries in the depend
    P pkg2 my_pkg2
         I386 1.0
    My question is: if I want my pkg1 depends on the pkg2 that version >= 1.0, how could I write it in the depend? Any comments are appreciated, thank you very much.
    The methods I known:
    1.     Add all the possible versions in the depend, like the following:
    P pkg2 my_pkg2
         i386 1.0
         i386 2.0
         i386 3.0

    2.     Ignore the version entry in the depend, like the following:
    P pkg2 my_pkg2

    Sorry, this is not a good place to ask question on package management tools; this forum is about Sun Studio, which is a collection of compilers and tools for software developers.

    Hi ,
    I have exported a site http://teamsite in share point 2007 set up and try to import in 2010 site
    http://mysite using stsadm.The command details is given below.
    stsadm -o export -url http://teamsite -filename c:\backup\team.cab -includeusersecurity  . it has created  277 cab file . then i have copy these file to 2010 sytem and given the import
    command.
    stsadm-import -url http://mysite -filename d:\backup\team.cab
    and found the above code error. Please send the reply to my email  [email protected]

    Hi,
    Glad to receive your reply.
    Based on my research,
     out of space on a drive will result in this error. Please check if there is enough space on the drive.
    Furthermore, change the user TEMP and TMP to another drive with space, then test again.
    Thanks,

  • Contact Form: How do i create a link from an XML file to another domain to read a PHP File

    So i purchased a template from Template Monster and im having a little trouble with the contact form. The server that im uploading it to is a privite server that the company owns. It supports ASP and not PHP. I cant seem to get the ASP form to work so all i want to do it create a link to another one of there servers that supports PHP and have the contact form link to there and read the PHP file (that i will upload to that server) and send the email from there.

  • Reading a text file from a URL

    I am having problems trying to read a text file from a URL.
    This is the code i have been using:
    package Java;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Main_1 {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
         URL myAddress = new URL("http://www.geocities.com/simonrobinson1/java/farrago.txt");
         BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
                        new InputStreamReader(
                        myAddress.openStream()));
         String inputLine;
         while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
         System.out.println(inputLine);
         in.close();
    but it returns an error saying:
    java.net.NoRouteToHostException: Operation timed out: no further information
    at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method) .....etc etc.
    Is this just a problem due to my network or is there something wrong with my code ????

    Altho you can access the file by typing the URL in a browser, geocities being a free web-hosting service don't like you to access the materials without seeing their ads. You have to find a way to trick it into thinking that you are indeed coming in from a web browser even tho you aren't.

  • Application to read 2 log files from internet

    Hi,
    Anybody could tell me how to develop this project. I'm lack of time. thanks
    You have been asked into a company called Broken Arrow Software as a Senior Software Engineer and Management consultant. You are being paid very handsomely and have been asked to write an application program in Java for parsing a log file.
     The program will have a standard menu using the AWT only.
     ALL LAYOUTS MUST USE ONLY THE BORDER-LAYOUT OR GRID-LAYOUT OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH (Any other layouts score zero).
    This application reads two Log files from the internet. The first file contains USA state names and the abbreviation used for that state. This information will be used in displaying totals from another network file and should be stored in an array (or two arrays, or a two dimensional array) in the program. The second file should extract the Reversed subdomain section from a Log file (a section is shown later) and store this in an array in the application. This should be processed and only those domains beginning with us. should be processed. Each us. Has an abbreviated USA state after it (tx is an abbreviation for Texas). The abbreviations are sorted and all states are on consecutive lines and each displays a number of accesses for that state. The accesses should be totalled and displayed in the current Frame for each state in the form of Java List components (these do not need to be synchronised so that they all scroll in unison).
    The application will be a Java application with the following menus and MenuItems:
     Splash screen (10%)
     Application (20%)
    o Open USA abbreviation file
    o Clear screen

    A basic pass for the application will be for a basic implementation of an application with help options and some basic implementations of a Splash screen and some basic file and application options. Very high marks will be awarded for processing network files, saving and opening files, very good HCI, application design and error handling, excellent OO design for classes, gorgeous layout and commenting of code and excellent graphing capabilities.
    Error handling dialogs and overall application design (10%)
    Every class must be in a separate file.
    Inheritance should be used for WindowListeners of Frames and Dialogs.
    Up to 10% can also be lost by unprofessional code layout and lack of professional standards. Always adhere to standards taught throughout the module and your time at the University of Northumbria.
    Examples of non-professionalism would include bad indentation, no comments, meaningless variable names, politically incorrect graphics, commented out code, empty .java files, .java files which are not part of the project etc. Remember your application is your livelihood and your company depends on your application standards.
    The splash screen must be a Frame with a Canvas as part of it showing your own logo. Your logo should be individual to you but does not need to win the computing equivalent of the Turner prize. The application should be displayed behind the Splash screen and both should be visible. The application must not be able to be brought to the front and used without the Splash screen being disposed of.
    The application should only enable the Open USA abbreviation file, Open locally saved report file, Help options and Exit Menus and MenuItems, when the application starts. On opening a valid USA abbreviation file, then the other Menus and MenuItems should be enabled.
    The abbreviations should be read into an array. These should be used in displaying the totals for the reversed subdomain totals for each USA state. A total for all USA states should be displayed at the bottom of the current Frame, with a suitable Label (this design is your own). This current Frame should display a series of Lists starting with a List of USA state number (1 to n). A List of USA state abbreviation should be next followed by a List of the actual USA state name, followed by a List of the total accesses for that state.
    The report file should be an ASCII file that can be printed out from an ASCII text editor such as DOS edit or Microsoft NotePad.
    The Open network files should display a Dialog asking for the http:// address of the file, with OK and Cancel options. It is helpful if the user can hit return instead of clicking on OK and Escape instead of cancel. Error Dialogs should be used to indicate any errors that may occur and the state of the application should be reset to that of before displaying the Dialog.
    When Save as report file is chosen a FileDialog box should be used for the user to choose both directory and filename. The file should be able to be saved as a .rpt file.
    Open report file should display the report in a Frame; the design of which is your own.
    Plotting the graph should pass a two dimensional array to a Frame with a Canvas. The Canvas should have a Paint method that draws the axis for the graph and any suitable Headings etc. The graph should draw a histogram of totals per USA states. The graph design is your own but you may wish to use Microsoft Excel as a good example of drawing a histogram.
    The Clear screen option should clear any data off the current screen.
    The Exit option should quit the application but it may be helpful to ask the user if they really want to exit the application.
    Help must be Java code and not linking into HTML. It should display help in a well designed screen. The most basic implementation might use a scrollable TextArea for a basic mark.
    See other software for a good About screen. The most basic should display your name, date, version and company.
     Help should display your help on using the application. As a senior software engineer, the design is your own, based on experience of using applications, as is the opening splash screen. You may use other applications for inspiration only, as these will make up your experience.
     Your good knowledge gained from HCI units studied should prove invaluable in the interface design and the usability of the application.
     The design (Screens and classes) and quality and documentation of code throughout the application will be marked. The experience gained from programming 1 and 2 and Object Oriented Programming should prove invaluable throughout the application, as should any GUI units studied.
    The log file can be accessed at:
    http://computing.unn.ac.uk/staff/cgpb2/public_html/log.html

    You would really gain ever so much more from this exercise if you would write a couple of classes, then come back with some specific questions. If you're completely lost, try starting with the GUI first. It's not the best practice, always, but it is easy to visualize.
    On a side note, I wish I'd had assignments even half this intersting when I was in my Java classes...

  • How to login to a remote (FTP??) server and read an XML file?

    Hello all,
    I would like some information on how to login to a remote server using a Java program.
    The server might be a ftp server, because the client will ftp a xml file to this server, and the java program needs to login to this server and read the xml file, then convert it into a general report with headings and data from the xml file.
    How can I quickly find the API information to login to a server and read an xml file?
    If anyone knows the packages off the top of their heads, that would save me some time surfing.
    If anyone can provide me some links, code examples, or information I'd greatly be thankful.
    sharla

    You can also just use plain java.net. It supports FTP. Example:URL u = new URL("ftp://user:passwd@server/path/to/file.xml");
    InputStream in = u.openStream();
    // do what you want ...

  • "Read From Binary File" function Help ambiguity

    I must be getting tired, but for some reason a doubt crept in my mind as I was designing a new piece of code this morning:
    "is the "Read From Binary File" using the last file position or is it starting from the beginning of the file?"
    "That's a stupid question", I told myself.
    "I used this function a million times and have always assumed it is reusing the last file position. Moreover, there is no file offset input to that function, so WTH am I afraid of?"
    So, for kicks, I fired up the Help window and read the following description (*):
    Reads binary data from a file and returns it in data. How the data is read depends on the format of the specified file. This function does not work for files inside an LLB.
    (*) BTW, has anybody ever complained that you can't select and copy anything from the floating Help Window?
    Not much there. I particularly admire the phrasing of the second sentence... What about: "This function can do a lot of things, but it would much to complex to describe this is extensive details, so if you are asking, you probably can't afford using it"?
    Anyhow, I clicked on the "Detailed Help" and got this (among other things):
    Use the Set File Position function if you need to perform random access.
    WHAT? I am pretty darn sure I DO NOT USE the Set File Position when I read a file in successive and contiguous chunks. I just pass the file refnum into a shift register and back to the function and that's it.
    Now, the description of the "Refnum Out" ouput says: If file is a refnum or if you wire refnum out to another function, LabVIEW assumes that the file is still in use until you close it. Translated in plain English, is that supposed to mean that if the file is not closed it is open, or is that implying that it contains more info that just "the file is open and can be found here"?
    I started searching around and finally ended up with the entry for "refnums, file I/O". Down the bottom of the (long) article, I found this under the heading "References to Objects or Applications" (but nothing specific to files, BTW):
    ...LabVIEW creates a refnum associated with that file, device, or network connection...
    [...]  LabVIEW remembers information associated with each refnum, such as the current location for reading from or writing to the object and the degree of user access, so you can perform concurrent but independent operations on a single object. If a VI opens an object multiple times, each open operation returns a different refnum. LabVIEW automatically closes refnums for you when a VI finishes running, but it is a good programming practice to close refnums as soon as you are finished with them to most efficiently use memory and other resources.
    So it seems that my recollection was correct. I do not know what the "degree of user access" for a file is, but that's not the topic of today's post.
    So, my point is: the Help File for this function is incomplete or ambiguous at best. Please correct it. And provide a link to the "refnum, file I/O" Help entry in its detailed Help. It would H E L P...
    Thanks for reading.

    Reading in succesive chunks is *NOT* random access. An open file always has
    a current position, which is updated with each read or write operation.
    You only need to set the file position if you want to start elsewhere.

  • "Read from Binary File" and efficiency

    For the first time I have tried using Read from Binary File on sizable data files, and I'm seeing some real performance problems. To prevent possible data loss, I write data as I receive them from DAQ, 10 times per second. What I write is a 2-D array of double, 1000 data points x 2-4 channels. When reading in the file, I wish I could read it as a 3-D array, all at once. That doesn't seem supported, so I repeatedly do reads of 2-D array, and use a shift register with Build Array to assemble the 3-D array that I really need. But it's incredibly slow! It seems that I can only read a few hundred of these 2-D items per second.
    It also occurred to me that the Build Array being used in a shift register to keep adding on to the array, could be a quadratic-time operation depending on how it is implemented. Continually and repeatedly allocating bigger and bigger chunks of memory, and copying the growing array at every step.
    So I'm looking for suggestions on how to efficiently store, efficiently read, and efficiently reassemble my data into the 3-D array that I need. Perhaps I could simplify life if I had  "write raw data" and "read raw data" operations that write and read only the numbers and no metadata.then I could write the file and read it back in any size chunks I please -- and read it with other programs besides. But I don't see them in the menus.
    Suggestions?
    Ken
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I quote the detailed help from Read from Binary File:
    data type sets the type of data the function uses to read from
    the binary file. The function interprets the data starting at the current file
    position to be count instances of data type.
    If the type is an array, string, or cluster containing an array or string, the
    function assumes that each instance of that data type contains size information.
    If an instance does not include size information, the function misinterprets the
    data. If LabVIEW determines that the data does not match the type, it sets data
    to the default for the specified type and returns an error.
    So I see how I could write data without any array metadata by turning off "prepend array or string size information", but I don't see any way to read it back in such bare form. If I did, I'd have to tell it how long an array to read, and I don't see where to do that. If I could overcome this, I could indeed read in much larger chunks.
    I'll try the auto-indexing tunnel anyway. I didn't tell you the whole truth, the 3-D array is actually further sliced up based on metadata that I carry, and ends up as a 4-D array of "runs". But I can do that after the fact instead of trying to do it with shift registers as I'm reading.
    Thanks,
    Ken

  • [svn:fx-4.0.0] 13638: update to ensure fat-swcs contain a proper packages. dita file.

    Revision: 13638

    Date:     2010-01-19 14:51:32 -0800 (Tue, 19 Jan 2010)
    Log Message:
    update to ensure fat-swcs contain a proper packages.dita file.
    -removed all packages.dita files from all langs where it was checked in
    -at the end of asdoc task we now copy the packages.dita out to the en_US project dir being built.  This is where the fat-swc task will pick up this file and place it in the docs directory of the _rb.swc
    -had to change the order of the build process slightly - old order: ant clean main other.locales doc - new order: ant clean main doc other.locales
    - I removed other.locales from main in the root/build.xml and made it it's own task and also removed the property locales.  so to build other.locales, the doc target needs to run first (will add a depends at some point).
    -in the internal build.xml I have changed to use the new order
