Reading soap http request packets

im writing a class to obtain the soap http request from client on the server side. im not sure if i should be using the java.net class or the httpurlconnection or any other similar class. anyone have suggestions?
any tutorials on that? thanks

You can also use JAX-WS which can be found at http://jax-ws.dev.java.net.

• SOAP/HTTP request

Hi,
I need to build a BPEL process that will receive a SOAP/HTTP request.
can any one explain the work arround.
1. Do I need the schema for incoming SOAP message?.
2. Do i need to change the wsdl?.
3. Will BPEL support SOAP attachments if so is there any work arround?.
I am currently using Oracle BPEL 10.1.2.0.2.
Your help would be appreciated..
Thanks,
Mamatha

The WSDLs in 10.1.3.1 will take SOAP requests - not sure about what you would have to do for 10.1.2.x
Knowing the XSD of the SOAP request, and being able to import it as a schema will make things a lot easier - use the SOAP XSD to replace the payload variable element for request and response message types.
Not sure about attachments...

• About the read from http request, I think it is a bug in weblogic

Hi guys,
sorry for the previous post, I press the wrong button, I didn't finished yet.
I have experienced a problem when I try to read from http request in a web application.
the following is my code:
InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(new URL("www.myhost.com").openStream(),"8859_1");
BufferedReader bfr = new BufferedReader(isr);
String request = "";
while((request = bfr.readLine()) != null)
stringGotFromServer += request;
the problem is it always hang in there when BufferdReader reach the end.
but in java specification, BufferedReader should reture null if reaching the
end.
Does anyone have any good idea for that?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I think if you follow the instructions as given in the example you will not have any problems.
here are the instructions below
"This example code demonstrates one technique of handling test failures.
If this step fails, a dialog will be displayed giving options to Break, Terminate, or Retry.
The On Fail Post Action calls the HandleTestFailure sequence which is
another sequence in this sequence file.
The sequence file has the SequenceFilePreStep Callback overridden where
the initial statue of Runstate.SequenceFailed is stored in a local variable. Create a local variable in your sequence called SequenceAlreadyFailed which is a boolen.
To use this in your sequence file:
1. Copy the HandleTestFailure sequence to your sequence file.
2. For a step to use this, you
must set the On Fail Post Action to call the
HandleTestFailure sequence.
3. Override the PreStepCallback.
4. Copy the step from this example's PreStepCallback to yours.
5. Copy the TestFailureDialog.* files to the same directory as your sequence file.

• Read of HTTP Request POST parameters failed:Read timed out

Hi !
Any one seen this exception . any ideas of the cause?

Thanks,

Assuming there is nothing wrong with
org.apache.catalina.connector.HttpRequestBase.parseParameters
I can only think of 2 things:
1. The timeout is set for an extremely short time in the Apache settings (server.xml의)
2. The client application is sending the POST verry slow or incorrect. For example the
client says that the POST is 500 long than sends 200 and leaves the connection open.
You can try and post the following:
request.txt:
POST /somePath/somefile.js HTTP/1.1

• Weblogic 6.0 : Server hangs while reading a https request

Hi,
I'm running WLS6.0 on Win2000. The server hangs for some requests sent over https,
unless it times out. It seems that the server is not able to read the complete request
from the socket. It somehow thinks that there is more data available and keeps on
waiting. Is this a bug?
Also, it works fine if i change the url from a https to a http one. So, is this
related to SSL implementation of weblogic?
Has any of faced a similar problem? Thanks in advance for any ideas/thoughts on this
problem,
Thakur.

Hi,
I'm running WLS6.0 on Win2000.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/thoughts on this
problem,
Thakur.

• Append email to http request

Hello,
One of the features that RIM allowed us to use was the ability to attach the user's blackberry email and device id to every http request that came through the BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server). Now that we are exploring the iPhone as an option, I was wondering if anyone knew of an equivalent feature within the iPhone enterprise features.
Thanks, Kyle

Thanks LenH, and I agree, my wording is a bit vague.
Here's basically what happens. User's blackberry is setup to use our BES. As such, browser requests from his blackberry go to Verizon/Sprint/Wherever towers and then to our BES server. At this point, if the request is to an internal website, the BES appends the user's email and blackberry id (rim-device-email and rim-device-id) to the HTTP request packet. The BES then sends the request onto the internal webserver. The web app picks up the request and sees that the request has these additional variables and can do certain activities (like authentication) with it.
Does this help?

• SOAP HTTP header in SOAP request

Hi,
How to add the soap HTTP additional header in the SOAP request?
I want to add the headers not through coding. I want to add it manually.
I can able to add the HTTP headers through SOAPUI. But i need to add the same inside the request.
Could someone please help me?

I am sending the SOAP request through SoapUI.
Here is the sample request which i have used.

<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:req="http://requisition.api.newscale.com">
<soapenv:Header>
<req:AuthenticationToken>
<req:Username>***</req:Username>
<req:Password>***</req:Password>
</req:AuthenticationToken>
</soapenv:Header>
<soapenv:Body>
<req:getRequisitionStatus>
<req:loginUserName>***</req:loginUserName>
<req:requisitionId>123456</req:requisitionId>
</req:getRequisitionStatus>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
Here i have to add the additional HTTP header with this request.

• Application that receive SOAP and normal http request

Hi Guys,
I've been working onto web service right now using Spring. Been using this for receiving SOAP requests... Right now its working smoothly. But I want my application to cater both SOAP request and normal http request. Is that possible? If yes, can you guide me how?

Sorry for the formatting above. I interspersed lines between the questions, but they seem to have mostly disappeared.

• SOAP Adapter Sender PI7.1: 400 Bad HTTP request

Hello,
I have a problem with a SOAP adapter sender communication channel.
I'm trying to migrate a scenario from XI 3.0 to PI7.1 SP6 (PI_BASIS 2006_1_710 SAPKIPYN06).
I can send messages successfully to the old system using the URL
http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BC_Name:CC_SOAP_Sender
On PI7.1 I get
400 Bad HTTP request
Error: -21
Version: 7010
Component: HTTP_PLG
Module: http_plgrt_mt.c
Line: 5226
Error Tag:
Detail: illegal request version
I have created a Sender Agreement, generated the wsdl from that and tried the URL in there.
Surprisingly it has the old format, namely
http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=&senderService=BC_Name&receiverParty=&receiverService=&interface=myInterface&interfaceNamespace=urn:my.Interface:ns
although the 7.1 documentation describes the ?channel=party:service:channel style only.
Anyway, the result remains the same.
I tried some other approaches like escaping the colons in the URL without success.
The user has the role SAP_XI_DEVELOPER_J2EE assigned.
Any idea what's wrong here?
Thanks in advance
Rainer

>>In RWB the channel appears as "started but inactive".
Yeah,it will be like that because you are posting messages directly to Integration server."Propose URL" does that.You are bypassing the adapter engine when you use the URL generated by "Propose URL" button.
/people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/09/21/using-the-soap-inbound-channel-of-the-integration-engine
The above blog gives the reason for this,if you want to bypass the adapter engine,then generate the URL as given in the above blog
/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/03/01/testing-xi-exposed-web-services
This blog explains how to post message to adapter engine,here you need to change the URL,don't click on "Propose URL" button.You can monitor SOAP adapter in RWB only if you generate the URL as given in second blog
The URL which is working for you in XI 3.0 is posting messages to adapter engine,so generate the URL in PI 7.1 in the same way,by following the second blog i have mentioned.
Thanks
Aamir

• Only HTTPS requests are working for SOAP Sender and HTTP not working

wHi Experts,
We have enabled our HTTPS port ( SSL ) in NWA -- >> Security -- >> SSL and Key stores. So understanding is HTTPS port is now enabled on top of HTTP. So PI should be able to cater requests at both ports.
Now, we have developed a synchronous SOAP to RFC scenario and downloaded WSDL file. This file has both links -
a. http:<host>:<port>
b. https:<host>:<port>
We intend to make a PI system where both ports can work. Now questions.
1. When we test web service exposed from PI using SOAPUI tool, only HTTPS works fine and gets the response back. If we try HTTP URL, an error is encountered - HTTTPS scheme is required.
2. Is this whole understanding that both ports ( HTTP, HTTPS ) should be able to operate simultaneously correct ? Or this is not at all possible ?
3. In SOAP Sender, we tried selecting all 3 options - 1. HTTP 2. HTTPS without client authentication 3. HTTPS with client authentication.
None of the options have any effect on testing, Each time, only HTTPS request works and HTTP doesn't.
Can anyone please provide some hints for troubleshooting ?
Thanks..
regards,
Rajagopal.

The error "HTTPS scheme is required" is normally returned when the HTTP Security Level on the SOAP adapter is not set to "HTTP". I can see you have mentioned you have tried all these, maybe a cache refresh has gone wrong? Could try recreating the channel with just HTTP specified as security level and this should allow HTTP or HTTPS
I assume you are using a different port number for your HTTP and HTTPS requests from SOAP UI. Normally the HTTPS port is the same as the HTTP port number but the final zero changed to a 1 i.e. https://<host>:50001 instead of http://<host>:50000.
You should be able to confirm both HTTP and HTTPS work OK by loading some of the system webpages in a browser over HTTP and over HTTPS i.e. http://<host>:<port>/nwa and https://<host>:<port>/nwa

• Apex_web_service.make_request throws ORA-29273: HTTP request failed. How to get the soap fault XML?

I am trying to call a web service using apex_web_service.make_request function.
It works fine when all the parameters are correct. However, when something is wrong in the request XML, it throws an exception instead of returning the soap:fault message:
ORA-29273: HTTP request failed
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1369
ORA-29269: HTTP server error 500 - Internal Server Error
ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEBSERVICES_API", line 130
ORA-06512: at line 37
I need to get back the soap:fault and parse it to display a proper error message to the users (e.g. what was wrong with the input), yet the call throws an exception instead of returning it.
I am trying the exact same request from soapUI and it returns me the soap:fault below:
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
<soap:Body>
<soap:Fault>
<soap:Code>
<soap:Value>soap:Receiver</soap:Value>
</soap:Code>
<soap:Reason>
<soap:Text xml:lang="en">Fault occurred while processing.</soap:Text>
</soap:Reason>
<soap:Detail>
<ns1:RegisterFault xmlns:ns1="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1">

The security token has expired.

<errorCode xsi:type="ns2:RegisterErrorCode" xmlns:ns2="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">E_TokenExpired</errorCode>
</ns1:RegisterFault>
</soap:Detail>
</soap:Fault>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
How do I get this back from APEX?
Thanks!

Hi,
I've just run into this.
If the webservice returns a fault, such as:
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode><faultstring>INVALID_REQUESTER_INFO</faultstring></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
then the user gets presented with an unfriendly error message and there's no chance to output a more friendly one.
The response above is seen when testing the webservice, when run from the Form/Report page, we get something like:
soap:ServerINVALID_REQUESTER_INFO
Contact your application administrator.
OK
When OK button is clicked everything is rolled back and we don't even get the fault XML.
It would be good if Apex could be optionally set to not give the unfriendly messages, so that we could code such a message ourselves.
Unless anybody has a workaround for this, I guess that I'll have to see if I can code this in PLSQL.

Chris

• Soap UI HTTP Request Parameter

Hi,
I am working on HTTP two way port in BizTalk.
My input schema is as below.
<ns0:Order xmlns:ns0="http://BizTalk.HTTPAdapterDemoApp.Message_XML">
<ItemNumber>01</ItemNumber>
<Quantity>499</Quantity>
<Status />
</ns0:Order>
BizTalk Logic:
if Qty<500 then Status= 'Approved' else Status= 'Denied'.
I am sending this input message to BizTalk from console application and I am able to receive the response from BizTalk.
Now I want to send this message to BizTalk from Soap UI.
Can any one help me, How many parameter do I need to create in Soap UI to work it properly?
Thanks UK

Here it goes.
I can able to send the HTTP request of input schema and getting the response by using console application.
While using Soap UI, I am getting below errors.
In Biztalk console, I am getting below error,
The BizTalk HTTP receive adapter failed to initialize itself. Possible reasons:
1) Receive location URL is not created/configured correctly.
2) Receive location is not enabled.
3) HTTP receive adapter is not running under a user that has access to management and message databases.
4) Isolated host instance is not created for HTTP Receive adapter.
In Soap UI, I am getting the below error.
<data contentType="text/html; charset=utf-8" contentLength="6094">

• HOW TO FIND THE PATH TRAVELLED BY THE CLIENT'S REQUEST PACKET

Hi,
I want to know is there any way by which we can know the entire path or the hops travelled by the client request packet to reach the web-server.Say suppose the client machine is part of a large network in a corparate where there is a a personlaized WAN. I want to know whther i can achive this using the servlets.
and i even want to know some information about the client's NIC Card Physical Address.If at all i use the HttpServletRequest.inetAddress() gives the public IP of the Client which is shared in the network.
Please suggest me a way by which i can do this.

• Error Reading Soap Response

Hi,
We are having a problem reading Soap Response:
Scenario: From XI/PI we are calling a webservice with Synchronous
message with WS-Security including Authentication, Signature, TimeStamp
and Encryption using SOAP Receiver Adapter. We are able to send the
request successfully and also the webServer is able to understand the
request and sending the response back. The problem is the PI is unable
to read the response and giving a below error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: expecting end tag:
Transform, but found
InclusiveNamespaces at state 1
We tested successfully end-end with NON-Secured sites with out WS-
Security.
Please let me know if you have seen this error or any thoughts.
Thanks,
Laxman
This is the actual Request Message:

<string>XYZ123</string>
</ns0:getUser>
Also we extracted raw traffic using TCPMon:
Below is the raw-traffic of SOAP adapter (used TCPGateway to capture the traffic)
