Reading Survey data in Layouts

Hi All,
I have an urgent requirement to read data saved in Surveys (SMOXMLVAL) table in Layouts.
Is this possible? If yes, how do we do that?

How to read XML data stored in CLOB in Concurrent prog Output

I'm trying to Generate the XML Data as concurrent Program output. I have a PL/SQL package which generated the XML data by using SQL/XML functions. I'm storing the generated XML data in a CLOB variable. But when i try to read the data using fnd_file.put_line(fnd_file.OUTPUT,XML_Data) it doesn't display data more than 32767 bytes.
Please help me out to understand what could be done to read the data in chunks. I have tried many logic's to print chunks of data but the output tags are either chopped off and errors out saying Tag not found.
My logic is as below:

THe above logic is for character by character which is a performance burden? Please let me know if there is any other work around for this

Thanks for Replying. I have refered http://blog.oraclecontractors.com/?p=69 and then i added that piece of code. Basically, i'm trying to generate a report using XML publisher. To generate the XML data i'm writing a pl/sql package with SQl/XML functions. DBMS_XMLGEN would help me convert the XML Data as is. When the concurrent program runs this XML data will merge with RTF layout and generate required report. I'm able to generate the Report for data less then 32767 bytes. More than the limit i need to pass chunks of XML data to read as output. That's the reason i'm using fnd_file.output. But it reads only 32767 size at a time.
WHen i use the given logic, it works perfectly fine, but it loops for each character, for example if you have 30,000 characters it loops the same, which is peformance burden.
So i tried to write the logic of chunks but still i get the error that XML tag is not found or missing. I'm hoping this is very common issue, but after all my trails, i didn't find the right solution.
the other logic i tried was :

Changing Administrative data in Layout set (SE71)

Hi All,
I have copied another system layout set extract & uploaded into my system by changing user name in the extract.
But i got few fields wrongly updated in Adminitstrative data. I have already made some changes to layout set. so i can't upload again.
Now i want to change fields: Created On, By, Release: & Changed on, By, Release:
fields in the Administrative data tab in header data of layout set(SE71).
Can anybody tell me how can i change this data!

Hi,
If you have authorizations to open the layout in Change mode then you can change the fields names as well as Values By knowing the correct field names.

Job Pricing - Match SAP fields to survey data

I am in the process if importing my survey data and matching the fields and pay categories. Are we able to use a SAP field name more than once for the columns within the survey data? Example I have three sections listing the number of incumbents contributing to base pay, total compensation and bonus. So for these three fields I select Number of Incumbents Contributing to Survey Data. I am getting errors stating I have the SAP Number of Incumbents Contributing to Survey Data listed more than once. Any thoughts or ideas?

It appears that an SAP field can't be mapped twice. Split up the survey file into multiple files.

How read pdf data in C#?

Hi,
Is there any way to read pdf data in C#. The application i am working on demands to preserve the layout, formatting from the source and just change the content if required. Is there any open source or commercial API which i can use.

The Acrobat SDK is designed to allow developers to do two things:
Write plugins for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader using C++
Control Acrobat from external applications (via IAC)
It will not do anything without Acrobat and/or Reader installed, so as a standalone way to read or modify PDF files it's of no use.
The Adobe PDF LIbrary is a standalone set of tools to work with PDF files (so Acrobat is not required) and it can be operated from a server, unlike Acrobat.
If you have questions relating to the SDKs, please posts them in the Acrobat SDK forum rather than here.
Having said that, the PDF file format is an open standard based on COS objects - depending on what precisely you are trying to do, it may be just as easy to parse the files yourself. Rendering PDFs to screen is a very complex task but creating/editing them isn't - things only tend to become difficult when you involve encryption.

Data Entry Layouts - Rows not ready for inputs - Multiple records

Hi,
I have created a simple layout using a predefined simple structure for rows (FS Items) and a data driven one for columns (for the period value in LC).
Some cells show some data in them and are not available for input because there are multiple transaction records behind the numbers.
The transaction records share the same breakdowns except for the Currency Translation Indicator (it is empty for original records and shows '1' for records created during currency translation) and the currency key for transaction currency (sometimes it is empty).
It would be much appreciated if you let me know a way to introduce new data with layouts for FS Items (accounts) which already have transaction records.

Data may not be ready for input because of different reasons. The most I met were - you didn't expand the rows structure until the leaves (not nodes) or you marked the column as display only.

Read Surveys in CRM

Hi Experts,
I need to display a survey information on a smartform.
I'm trying to extract the data using the function module CRM_ORDER_READ.
In the export parameter ET_SURVEY of this function module, the same is present, but in the HEX XML format.
Any idea how I can extract the text from this.
Or alternatively if you can suggest the db tables where it can be read from, it will be of great help.

If an order is already saved, I can use the class CL_CRM_SVY_SURVEY_TEXTS.
But in my case, the smart form is being created before the service order is save dto the database.
Are there any function modules or classes that I could use to fetch the survey data?
Or are there any funciton modules to convert the HEX XML format of the text received in ET_SURVEY table to normal text?
Any pointers/suggestions in this regard would be of great help.

The problem is in the delimiters in your text file. By default, Read From Spreadsheet File.vi expects a tab delimited file. You can specify a delimiter (like a space), but Read From Spreadsheet File.vi has a problem with repeated delimiters: if you specify a single space as a delimiter and Read From Spreadsheet File.vi finds two spaces back-to-back, it stops reading that line. Your file (as I got it from your earlier post) is delimited by 4 spaces.
Here are some of your choices to fix your problem.
1. Change the source file to a tab delimited file. Your VI will then run as is.
2. Change the source file to be delimited by a single space (rather than 4), then wire a string constant containing one space to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi.
3. Wire a string constant containing 4 spaces to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi. Then your text file will run as is.
Depending on where your text file comes from (see more comments below), I'd vote for choice 1: a tab delimited text file. It's the most common text output of spreadsheet programs.
Comments for choices 1 and 2: Where does the text file come from? Is it automatically generated or manually generated? Will it be generated multiple times or just once? If it's manually generated or generated just once, you can use any text editor to change 4 spaces to a tab or to a single space. Note: if you want to change it to a tab delimited file, you can't enter a tab directly into a box in the search & replace dialog of many programs like notepad, but you can do a cut and paste. Before you start your search and replace (just in the text window of the editor), press tab. A tab character will be entered. Press Shift-LeftArrow (not Backspace) to highlight the tab character. Press Ctrl-X to cut the tab character. Start your search and replace (Ctrl-H in notepad in Windows 2000). Click into the Find What box. Enter four spaces. Click into the Replace With box. Press Ctrl-V to paste the tab character. And another thing: older versions of notepad don't have search and replace. Use any editor or word processor that does.

PI 7.3 - AEX "unable to read configuration data" and login problems

after installation of AEX, i'm facing some problems.
1.I'm not able to login with any user, i created during installation wizard. So i cannot check any user in NWA -> User Administration.
2.Once more, while opening http://<host>:<port>/rep or http://<host>:<port>/dir, i get the following error message.
Can somebody help me?
I think, there is a problem with the users, which have been created during installation. How can i check this? Is there any chance?
Second, if i'm able to login, i have to import the exchange profile again. This should solve the problem. Or is this wrong?

FCP error message: Unable to read the data on your source tape!

So I have been editing on the MacPro now for over a year and I have never seen this message before...the message reads:
_*"Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape. This could be due to a problem with the tape."*_
Has anyone got this message and could help me out please? I need to edit these tapes A.S.A.P.

why would it start a month later giving me problems instead of when it was updated?
That is a good point. Anything change since the time it worked to when it didn't? How about trying another firewire cable. Those can go south without notice, might cause this.

Reporting Services is used for rendering the report with data retrieved from datasource. In Reporting Services, we can retrieve data from the datasource then design a report, after the report processed, data is fixed on the report. So it’s not supported
to have the end users selection and do summary. For your requirement, it’s can’t be achieved currently.

Problem in Read Master Data rule type in Transformation

Hi,
I have 'Tax Classification' & 'Sales Territory' as attributes for 0customer (Master data). I loaded master data for 0customer & data have come up for this 2 fields. I want this 2 fields in my DSO with data filled. As this 2 fields are not in Transaction datasource of my DSO, i added this 2 fields in the Target side in Transformation of the DSO. In Transformation, I gave the rule type as 'Read Master Data' from attribute of '0customer' & mapped KUNAG (Sold-to) to this 2 fields. Activated the Transformation & executed the DTP.
When i check the data, i could see that the Infoobject 'Sales Territory' column alone is filled but 'Tax Classification' column is blank. Tax classification has data in 0customer master data for the displayed customer values but still data is not coming in DSO.
How does this happen when both the fields have same mapping & rule type and still data not getting populated for one field alone. Am i missing anything?

the green request in MD does not means that the data in MD is activated, you need to activate it after loading everytime so that it reflects in where used list as well.

I would recommend you to have a look at the VI attached. It makes use of a VI named 'Read from Spreadsheet' to read the row and column data from the tab delimited excel file. The read data is then searched for the Alphabet specified and finally returns you the corresponding string. The test file used to validate the operation of the VI is also attached.
