Ready for Input Variables for Multiple Queries in I_T_VAR_RANGE

Hi
I created Web template which contains multiple views/queries. Two views/queries contain Ready for Input Variables. I have custeomer exit code for this Web template. I wrote code by using Ready for input variable which pass to customer exit code. But the variables which contain in two views/queries not appearing in I_T_VAR_RANGE. The two variables belongs to different views and I required those variables. please find below code:
    WHEN 'ZVBCUST'.
      LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO w_var_range WHERE vnam = 'ZVAR1'.
        g_soldto = w_var_range-low.
      ENDLOOP.
      LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO w_var_range WHERE vnam = 'ZVAR2'
        g_zvbsshto = w_var_range-vnam.
        g_shipto = w_var_range-low.
      ENDLOOP.
The above 'ZVAR1' is ready for input variable which belongs to one Query and below 'ZVAR2' is other ready for input variable which belongs to second query. I required these two at a time when customer exit variable 'ZVBCUST' executes.
But in I_T_VAR_RANGE only one variable appears when I execute Web Template . Kindly help me in this regard
Thanks
luci

Hi,
First thing is to how you have defined your variable such as
Customer exit or
Replacement path or
Manual input etc..
If you want your variable filled through the exit select Customer Exit, then you have to look at the variable options such as Single value or range. According to your definition you have code as you defined such as wa_range-opt = 'BT' or 'EQ'.
Next..
In CMOD -> your project -> EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 -> include 'ZXRSRU01' ->
ISTEP = 1 -> before the variable pop up will be filled by the exit
when 'your variable'
your code
ISTEP = 2 -> after the variable pop up i.e after running your selections, calculates the values for your variables after selection screen execution.
when 'your varaible'
your code
ISTEP = 3 -> Validation purpose and message handling purpose
when 'your variable'
your code

  • Single input for multiple queries

how can we have single input form for multiple queries in visual composer?

    Hi Amol,
    check this Wiki page:
    [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/connectingmultipleinputportstoonesingleform&|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/connectingmultipleinputportstoonesingleform&]
For connecting a form with multiple queries you can create several transitions from your form to the input ports of the queries. You need a button in your form with the submit event. Select each transition from your form to the queries and rename the event to *submit. You need the asterisk for sending the data to all queries.

  • Description input variable dependent by queries

    Hi gurus,
I have a input variable in more queries bex (bi 7.0).
I do to change description for only one query without to create an other custom variable and replace it where I need.
I test in cmod with the support the second customer exit variable but when  I launch the query I don't intercept the description variable (insert in table RSZELTTXT) in step 1.
    Any suggest..

    Hi
In the restriction of AS1 you restrict on current quarter (SAP Variable -> Current quarter  0CQUART if not found see Business content -> Query element -> variables)
Then you do a right mouse click an set the variable offset on -3
    The same for AS2 with -2; AS3 with -1
on AS4 you don't do an offset.
Next to the description of the restricted key figure there is a button for Text variables (Current quarter (T) 0CQUARTT ).

  • Front End Variable to Multiple Queries

I need to create a front end variable selection on plant that will then pass the plant as a parameter to run a Bex query that is based on plant.  I cannot seem to accomplish this in BEX Query designer am I new to WAD.  I don't want to publish 20+ queries to the portal and instead want to publish one query with a variable input that runs the "sub-query" based on the input variable parameter.
Example user inputs plant.  The query is for sales of slow moving items that is plant specific.  Each query has restrictions based on material number for 500 materials.  There is not currently a way to identify these materials by plant for master data...
    Any guidance is greatly appreciated
    Warm Regards
    Lee Lewis

    Dear,
Why dont you go for Restriction with Manula Entry Variable on Material Variable, by doing this you can have one query instead of 20 queries,
Variable selection Screen will be like the below,
    Plant -
    MAnual Entry (Single Mandatery)
Material------ Manual Entry (Multiple Entry / Range )

  • Use of Input Variables in SQL-Queries Sometimes Not Possible

Only in simple SELECT-statements the use of input variables ([%0], [%1], etc.) work without problems.
In more complex queries the use of these variables is not possible (e.g. SELECT-statements with sub-queries, sometimes when UNION is used - but I couldn't find any general rule when the problems will arise; sometimes two different queries with the same query-structure behave in different ways when these variables are used).
In these cases the query is not executed - not even the input-window to enter values into the input variables is displayed. The query stops with some strange error-messages in the status line. These error-messages doesn't have any relation to the actual query - sometimes it refers to field-names never used in the query or refers to syntax error which do not exist.
If the input variables are replaced by constant values there are no problems so there can't be any syntax errors - the only difference is the presence or absence of input variables.
    Example:
provided that the queries have a certain complexity
      SELECT ...
      FROM   ... OINV Tx ...
      WHERE  ... Tx.DocDate >= [%0] ...
      does not work,
      SELECT ...
      FROM   ... OINV Tx ...
      WHERE  ... Tx.DocDate >= '1.1.2007' ...
      works!
Does anybody have run into the same problem and now if it is a bug of SAP-BO or an error on behalf of the user? Does anybody know a way to correct the problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Frank
By the way: Are there any rules where exactly input variables can be used in a query?
Only in SELECT-statements? Where there exactly?
    In statements outside of SELECT?

Only SAP Partners Can access service.sap.com/notes, but I think it is possible to search in them from the customer portal as well.

The following query is an example for how to define variables in long
queries rather than using "Fixed Declares".
You need to use exactly the same template as follows, do not delete
    "comments" from this query.
The only changes you need to do :
    1. In the first and in the fifth rows you need to select the table to which you would like to relate the variable e.g. in this example, the variable is related to the table VPM1 - 'Payments to Vendors - Rows'.
    2. In the fourth and in the eighth rows you need to select the field to which you would like to define the variables e.g. in this example, the variable is the field 'DueDate'.
    /SELECT FROM [dbo].[VPM1] T0/
    declare  @fromdate as datetime
    /* WHERE */
    set @fromdate = /* T0.DueDate */ '[%0]'
    /SELECT FROM [dbo].[VPM1] T1/

In such cases you need to put in an SQL remark statement a reference field in the DB for the Survey Variable (any field).
For Example: (to make the above query work)
    Declare @Num as numeric(2)
    Set @Num = /* T0.DocNum */ [%0]
    Select T0.DocNum
    From ORDR T0
    Where docnum = @Num

  • Group by Left Report for Multiple Queries

    Afternoon folks,
I have been pretty much writing my queries in Oracle Reports by having one long query (which includes multiple sub-queries) and then displaying the results (Mainly Counts and MEDIAN values).
This has resulted in one very long query (difficult to manage and understand), not to mention slower performance. I would like to change that my making smaller queries and use data links to join the groups.
Here is my Report request in hand. I need to build a Report that will be grouped by a Reporting Year and stratified by Age Groups and then Report various Counts of Students that are
coming from various data sources (Tables). As of now, I have the Counts coming from at least 3 different data sources. So as you can imagine, my 3 sub queries have added to one
very long query. Anymore requirements to the Report and it can lead to a big mess.
Column '# of Students Enrolled' is coming from ENROLLMENT_TB table
Columns '# of Students who took Math' and 'Marks > 60' are coming from COURSE_MATH table.
Birth Date information is in the STUDENT_TB table (Since the Report needs to be stratified by Age Groups)
    Report Layout

                      1990+                                999                           999              999            999                  Currently, I have 3 sub-queries
Sub Query #1: # of Students Enrolled from ENROLLMENT_TB.
Sub Query #2: # of the Enrolled Students who took Math from COURSE_MATH_TB
Sub Query #3: # of the Enrolled Students who took Math from COURSE_MATH_TB and got Marks > 60. Median Score of this sampling.
My thought would be to have them into Groups and then create a Report a s a Group Left to achieve the results. Any help or suggestions would be more than welcome.
I have begun working on this Report but it is still taking quite long (Like 4 minutes) when the individual Queries (Q_COURSE_MATH and Q_COURSE_MATCH_60) are only taking 20 seconds each.
My guess is the Grouping based on the age group is resulting in slower performance but I could be wrong.
Also, the Query runs between pages and takes a long time to run. So, when I actually ran the Report, only the first page was formatted and then subsequent pages follow.
Looking at the data model, is there something conceptually wrong?
I have also not included the Query for Enrollment Counts to keep the Report simple.

    Hi Arsalan,
"Group by" is not a valid calculation option for calculated fields in the database object, nor is it for the calculation fields in your report.
I believe that what you are trying to achieve is to have a SUM of all the sales done, grouped by Brand. This is typically something you configure while building your report(in Active Studio).
If you for example would only want to show 2 out of 5 Brands in your report I suggest you use a filter(which is configured while building your report as well).
For all calculation and operation options in calculated fields you can go to the Help section of BAM and search for "Calculation Operators and Expressions".
I hope I helped you solve your problem.
    Kind regards,
    Martijn van der Kamp

  • VB for multiple queries

    Hello,
Can we run multiple reports in SAP BW at a single request?
How would data be extracted from a single cube for these multiple reports? If this is possible, the output should either go to the printer or in a .pdf file.Suggest.
    Regards,
    K&M

    Hi,
You may use a workbook with several requests embedded.
Or you may have multiple WBs and one WB that has links to separate WBs each one with a single report.
If I'm not mistaken, Adobe Distiller allows you to bring Excel sheets content into pdf format. Setting up Excel WB properties (portrait/landscape, number of rows/columns repeated on each page, numbering etc.) will allow you to get in pdf a file with multiple reports formatted as you want and ready to print.
    Best regards,

  • Issue BPS manual input variable allowing  multiple entry

    Dear experts,
I would like to fulfil a requirement in BPS excel layout of manual input.
A user can input the values(multi-selection) for a characteristic and this charccteristic could be displayed in the row, as we can do in a query designer.
How should I define the variable for this characteristic and how should I define the characteristic in the Layout?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Go to your planning area and create a variable of type Characteristic and then set the properties of that variable as below:
    1. Add your characteristic in Characteristics tab in right side in that variable
    2. Select Characteristic Value in Text Replacement
    3. Select Fixed Value in Replacement Type
    4. Activate checkbox Restriction of Values required by User
    5. Specify the selection conditions for your variable. You can specify single values or range here.
Then go to your planning level on which you'll create your manual layout and then restrict the characteristic with the variable you have created under Selections tab.
Go to your planning layout and select radio-button in Lead Column for your characteristic in teh first screen of teh layout builder.
Then expand the node Additional Settings in the same screen and select radio-button All Possible Characteristic Combinations.

yes the reports are based on BICS and I moved them from prod to dev.
I already checked, the query panel does not show these variables!
I copied query and saved under new name, and i also created a new webi report upon this query, but some variables ready for input are still not displayed.

  • Authorization Variables ready for input

I have a problem whit a variable, is an authorization variable and ready for input, but when i use this variable and clean the input box this variable don't works as an authorization variable...
I hope that this variable return all the values where the user has authorization but it return ALL values and not only where the user is authorized...
How can I make that a blank variable gives me all the values the user is authorized to see?
    Hope someone can help me!
    Best regards
    Enrique

Steps that you may be missing:
    1. Make the info object authorization relevent. You make this setting in info object maintenance screen -RSA1 .
    2. Create a authorization objects in RSSM for this object.
    3. Maintain values for this object in PFCG for the role that you  assign  to the users.
    After that, run the query.

  • Hidden variable but ready for Input - BEx

    Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if it's possible to create a variable for selection screen in the BEx which is hidden but still ready for input.
I guess that if I uncheck the option "Variable is Ready for Input" in the variable properties in BEx, I will have a variable which is hidden and can be manipulated in a SAP Exit function module. I don't want to manipulate the variable there but send a value through RRI to this report (where the Variable should be hidden). If I uncheck the option "Variable is Ready for Input" I cannot set this in the RRI settings because I don't see the variable since it is not ready for input
Do you know a possible solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Carlos

    Hello Bob,
Thanks for your fast answer. I got what you said, but it is not as simple as it is, for that reason I will describe the scenario a little bit more:
    Source query has:
Variable: Key Date (Single, mandatory) -> InfoObject /APC/ACCTRADAT
Key date means "all before that date" (defined in the extractor).
    Target query has:
Variable: Transaction Date (selection Option, optional) -> InfoObject /APC/ACCTRADAT
Transaction Date means "only that date" or "from one date to other date".
If I send the date through RRI, the target query will think that the value it is getting is a single value, but it's actually a range (all before that date).
For that reason I created a new InfoObject called Key Date for Recon. (/APC/RCTKEYDAT) with a single optional variable. I don't want to show the InfoObject as a free char because it makes no sence on it. So, depending on the variable I get, the extractor will decide either if it is a range or a single value. Any ideas?

  • Ready for input in variable

    Hi friends,
Please any one tell me what is the function of ready for input in the vaiable

    Hi,
Tick mark "Ready for input" in variable definition then during execution it will ask for variable input. If you don't check it then even if you execute without entering an input it executes the report straigt away.
"Ready for input" in variable definition means that this variable will be placed on variable dialog box during query execution.
Sometimes you don't want this functionality for example for variables filled by user exit or filled by authorization.

  • Allowing customer exit interval variables to be "Ready for Input"

    Hi BI fans,
I am looking to construct a Pie Chart where the default view will show the Year-To-Date data. At present, we are utilizing a customer exit variable (from the 0FISCPER characteristic) to carry out this task.
It is also required, however, to allow the user to manually adjust the start <u><b>and</b></u> end date of this period. Is it possible to have a customer exit interval variable which will allow the user to modify the start and end date – and thus facilitate specified time periods?
I look forward to hearing from you,

    Hi
Use a BI Content variable like 0I_CFYTD - Year to Date For Current Fiscal Yearm, this variable is a interval variable and will default from fiscal period 1 to the current period.
If you edit the variable and set it to ready to input then when you run the report at the variable screen you can change the period on which you want to report.
    hope this helps

  • Data Entry Layouts - Rows not ready for inputs - Multiple records

    Hi,
I have created a simple layout using a predefined simple structure for rows (FS Items) and a data driven one for columns (for the period value in LC).
Some cells show some data in them and are not available for input because there are multiple transaction records behind the numbers.
The transaction records share the same breakdowns except for the Currency Translation Indicator (it is empty for original records and shows '1' for records created during currency translation) and the currency key for transaction currency (sometimes it is empty).
It would be much appreciated if you let me know a way to introduce new data with layouts for FS Items (accounts) which already have transaction records.

    Hi Roberto,
Data may not be ready for input because of different reasons. The most I met were - you didn't expand the rows structure until the leaves (not nodes) or you marked the column as display only.
