Real-Time Chroma-Key Motion

So I have an idea brewing in my head and am seeing if it has any possibility of working.
I was wondering if it would be possible to be take in video and have a motion element (a pre-built, constant element) move around the AE composition in relation to an object moving around the real world camera composition of the video - using a chroma key method of say a green screened body part or paper airplane waving around.
Far fetched maybe?

I have gone and looked up Matchmoving, but that is not quite what I was looking for. On the Bonjour site (2d3 company) I did find another product, "TacitView" that seems more like what I need. It tracks movement in video.
Hopefully I can better explain myself this time around :)
I want to set up an unmoving camera, have the movement in the video be tracked, and have a graphic map itself to that movement.
A scenario example: A camera is at the end of a hallway. It is recording and I walk into its view. Software detects my movement. A graphic I created then moves side to side as I do.
My ultimate goal was to have that graphic then be projected/displayed back out so It creates a mirror effect. Except instead of your reflection you would see a graphic element moving along with you.
I'm pretty sure after effects wouldn't even be the software here, and it will probably be multiple software's routed together, but it's the only one I know that might even touch this idea.

Chroma keying - Motion 5 vs Adobe: which is better?

Has anyone compared chroma keying with Motion 5 vs Adobe Premiere Pro cs5.5 or even Afer Effects cs5.5? Are the advanced features in M5 just as good as ultra keyer in Premiere Pro or Key light in AFter Effects?
I am looking to do vids with lots of green screen shoots. I am undecided if I should purchase FCPX +Motion 5 or the Adobe Production Premium (including Premiere Pro adn After Effects).

Haven't tried it personally yet, but Alex Lindsay, who's company makes the super high-end keyer Conduit, says that Motion 5's keyer is amazing and they are having to rethink their product because of it.
So, it sounds like it's at least worth a $50 experiment to test it out. You can use it with FCPX or Premier.

Chroma keying / motion key

Hi guys.
I am working on another music video for a freind. I have filmed her singing the track via mini dv with the camera on a sturdy and non moving tripod.
I would like to add some 'ghost' type effects - ie have the singer dancing around with herself.
I know I can do this just by overlaying the shots in FCE and adjusting the transparency -
but - a freind of mine who has used FC for years was telling me that their is a way to extract 'just the motion' from a clip leaving the moving dancer dancing, but cancelling out the background image. Unfortunatly my freind is somewhere in Germany, and I am in New Zealand - so I was wondering if anyone here knows what I am talking about and could offer me any suggestions.
Plus any tips of how to make 'spooky' ghost images would be appreciated too!
I have a clip which just shows the background scene (in this case a tree), and also three takes with the singer singing along to her song.I thought their might be a way to cancel out the image of the tree - like I could if I put up a green screen - but without having a green screen - kinda like those sound cancelling headphones which play sound of an oposite phase which cancels out background sound......

I know it's a simple question, but i had ¡Movie '08 and I bought the latest version, and it's really different, so I don't know, if i have like 150 photos (it's an stop-motion) how can I put the same duration? And do the chroma key effect? And I don't know why, all the images have the Ken Burns effect and I don't know how to quit it. Thanks for the help!

I solved the same time problem, but now the problem is that when i use the chroma key it automatic uses the blue screen effect, not the gren (wich I want). Please help! Thanks!

Is it possible to chroma key a moving laptop/phone screen in Motion 5?

Hi, I recently downloaded Motion 5, and I've been experimenting with it. What I'd like to know is if it's possible to chroma key the screen of a phone (the screen will be green.) I've managed to chroma key out the green, and it works perfectly, except I don't know how to make the "screen" follow the phone or stay on the phone if the camera moves. Also, is it possible to make the "screen" dynamically grow/shrink as the camera zooms in/out. Is such a thing even possible with Motion?

Using Non cumulative key figure in Real time cube

Hi gurus,
I have used non cumulative key figure in a real time cube and when i tried to enter some data using RSINPUT ,it is giving an error and the data is not getting saved.
Can anyone please tell me how to use the Non cumulative key figure in the Real time cube .

Hi Ravi,
Please make sure that when you use a non cumulative key figure iun your real time info cube, then choose a time reference characteristic for that key figure.
Then, this time reference characteristic applies for all the non-cumulative values of the InfoCube and must be the u201Csmallestu201D of the time characteristics present in the InfoCube.

Divide key figures in real time cube by using planning function

Dear all,
I have a real time cube which contains one key figure which is defined by 10 characteristics.
For one country, the users types the values fpr the key figure in a wrong format, so I have to divide those values by 1000.
I have tried to do this with a planning function "Revaluating" and a filter (on this spec. country). I have combined this two element in a planning sequence. When I run this I just get the error message "planning function ended with errors" without any further information.
Is there an other way to devide values within the cube? the BI release is 7.0.
Any help would be great.

What you are doing is absolutely right.. However, I want to ask a few question..
1. Are the characterestic values included in the filter ? ie. If you want to change for Country: UK, is UK present in filter?
2. Are there any other characteristics that you have not included in the function and are getting changed by chance ? Like you might need to include 0fiscyer in To Change if you are assigning 0Fiscper.
3. Write a small FOX function with hardcoded values to check if the system is accepting the values or not..
It should work.. Please write back in case you need more help..

Hi,
You can restrict the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse by selecting one of more characteristics. The key figures that are restricted by one or more characteristic selections can be basic key figures, calculated key figures or key figures that are already restricted. Which means you can define and use them globally in reporting for a particular infoprovider.
Example:
You have to show the sales for different product typessay 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, for a company code.
now you can define a RKF with company code and sales keyfigure.
In the report, in columns, you use this RKF in new selection and restrict it with product type in 6 diff columns.
New Selection.
Restrict it with RKF
Restrict it with product type 1.
similarly for others..

Green Screen keying real-time.

Hello, my boss is starting to do some green screen work. Besides little low-budget comedy skits, I don't know a professional work flow for this.
What tools (hardware/software) do I need to preview the green screen key while we are shooting. If I didn't word that correctly... While I'm shooting somebody in front of the green screen, how can I get a real-time preview of my background while shooting in real-time so I know the subject is in the right place and lit correctly.
We'll purchase moderately prices solutions or rent pricey solutions.

Process speed necessary for real time livetype & Motion

Does anybody remember the minimum processor speed necessary to
run LIVETYPE and MOTION from WITHIN FCP5...not as seperate apps?
The online spec sheets indicate the speeds necessary for running as seperate apps,
but not for real time from withing FCP5...at least, not the ones I can find.

Where did you encounter the promise of real time in FCP?
Can't be done AFAIK.
Even if possible, you'd only get a few misleading preview frames.
We've got our new biga$$ Macs arriving in a few weeks. I'll let ya know if anything happens real time in FCP.

I accidentally recorded video on my iPhone 5s in slow motion, and now I want to import it into iPhoto and play it in real-time. How can I do that?

Thank you for taking the time to contribute. Unfortunately, you are referring to the dekstop version of iMovie - my question specifies iMovie for iPhone (and I asked in the iMovie for iOS forum).
I would find it hard to believe that Apple included a way to record slow-motion but not be able to get that footage into iMove (iOS App version).

Chroma key after fixing movement in motion

I created baseballs flying around in fcp with a sky background. The moves were jerky so I sent to motion and smoothed the movement. I brought it back to FCP applied the chroma keyer to remove the green screen. When I do that the green goes away but the background goes black. Why does the sky layer below disappear when I turn on the chroma keyer?
Also why doesnt motion have croma keyer. Color keyer does not work as well as chroma key.

You created them? You mean you edited together some video clips of baseballs? Or you mean you animated a graphic of a baseball? Big difference. Big difference in how we will advise you to move along.

You should only process the original media. I cannot tell from this statement if you know how stabilization actually works. If you are chromakeying the stabilized video clip, you may want to perform additional work on it. For instance, is the shutter speed high enough to reduce image blur? Is the footage interlaced?
-No stabilization used. The movements is FCP were Jerky between keyframes. FCP motion is hard to control. Thats why we use Motion...to smooth the movement..correct?

Ah. So your original statement about creation in FCP was misleading or incompletely descriptive. Is this a still image of a baseball against green? Or are these video clips of off screen hands tossing baseballs across the screen? If they're video, don't stabilize them, reshoot it with the camera on a tripod.

Then you're not using the keyer properly. You may be looking at the matte or the processed key and not the output or final image.

The blue/green keyer in Motion is fabulous. Why are you using the color keyer?
-From what I see in tutorials, people suggest to use Primatte RT. In FCP Color keyer has more control over how it affects highlights and shadows, Hue range.-
Motion has 5 keying options. FCP has about 10. I just like the was Chroma keyer works for my purposes.

Does Motion 5 Chroma Key compare with Premiere Pro or After Effects?

The Problem about Monitoring Motion using PCI-7358 on LabVIEW Real Time Module

Hello everyone,
I have a problem about monitoring the position of an axis. First let me give some details about the motion controller system I’m using.
I’m using PCI-7358 as controller and MID-7654 as servo driver, and I’m controlling a Maxon DC Brushed motor. I want to check the dynamic performance of the actuator system in a real time environment so I created a LabVIEW function and implemented it on LabVIEW Real Time module.
My function loads a target position (Load Target Position.vi) and starts the motion. (Start.vi) then in a timed loop I read the instantaneous position using Read Position.vi. When I graphed the data taken from the Read Position.vi, I saw that same values are taken for 5 sequential loops. I checked the total time required by Read Position.vi to complete its task and it’s 0.1ms. I arranged the loop that acquires the data as to complete its one run in 1ms. But the data shows that 5 sequential loops read the same data?

Read Position.flx can execute much faster than 5 ms but as it reads a register that is updated every 5 ms on the board, it reads the same value multiple times.
To get around this problem there are two methods:
Buffered High-Speed-Capturing (HSC)
With buffered HSC the board stores a position value in it's onboard buffer each time a trigger occurrs on the axis' trigger input. HSC allows a trigger rate of about 2 kHz. That means, you can store a position value every 500 µs. Please refer to the HSC examples. You may have to look into the buffered breakpoint examples to learn how to use a buffer, as there doesn't seem to be a buffered HSC example available. Please note that you need an external trigger-signal (e. g. from a counter of a DAQ board). Please note that the amount of position data that you can acquire in a single shot is limited to about 16.000 values.
Buffered position measurement with additional plugin-board
If you don't have a device that allows you to generate a repetitive trigger signal as required in method 1.), you will have to use an additional board, e. g. a PCI-6601. This board provides four counter/timers. You could either use this board to generate the trigger signal or you could use it to do the position capturing itself. A PCI-6601 (or an M-Series board) provides can run a buffered position acquisition with a rate of several hundred kHz and with virtually no limitation to the amount of data to be stored. You could even route the encoder signals from your 7350 to the PCI-6601 by using an internal RTSI cable (no external wiring required).

Anyone used VisionNet system "designed to provide real-time streaming video feeds over the Internet"?

I'm a Mac user and we only have Macs at home. My son just started preschool, which offers a VisionNet system--"a state-of-the-art system of cameras, servers, and software designed to provide real-time streaming video feeds over the Internet." However, on the VisionNet FAQ page, it specifies the following:
"You need a web browser that is Java-enabled, perferably Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you're running Microsoft Internet Explorer, it needs to be version 6.x or higher. We recommend Internet Explorer 6.x as this is the latest and most up-to-date product release. Some Windows XP and Windows XP Professional users will have do download a Java runtime environment in order to use the VisionNet system if they have not done so already."
We don't have any PCs at home, so I tried to log in using my MacPro desktop, my old MacBook Pro and my new MBP. Basically, for the last 3 weeks I've managed to access the site only ONCE from my desktop and after the time-out session, I wasn't able to log on ever again (I just cannot enter any keys on the Username and Password fields at login). If I hit the Logon button from the FAQ page, I get an "Unauthorized Access" pop-up message: "This site may only be entered from an authorized web site! Please enter this site from your childcare provider's web site." When I enter "OK" I immediately get a pop-up menu "Confirm Dialog Preference. Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs" but I still can't enter any keys at login. It does nothing!
The "support guy" has NO knowledge of Macs, so I don't know where else to go. The fact that I had successfully logged on once makes me believe it's something I have to update/delete/add in my Preferences in Firefox (I've used Safari and Chrome with no success). I've also considered purchasing an inexpensive PC just for this lousy VisionNet system but I want to see if anyone has any ideas or advice.
Can anyone please help me? Thank you in advance!

It is not an outstanding production or anything too special, but it is worth noting that while some of the stills were doctored in Photoshop, the entirety of the editing and motion graphics were done in Premiere CS6.02; and the timeline playback was RealTime thanks to the MPE Hardware Acceleration and a GTX 560 2GB.
