Realized gain/loss posting

Hi,
Which T-code to be used for posting realized gain/loss ? I read in earlier posts that TPM18 can be used, however, am unable to understand that t-code as it is under derived flows. Kindly help

Hi,
Treasury itself is managed at the subledger level only.  So there is no specific need to integrate with customer and all.
For your point for posting derived business transaction you need to assign update type for derived business transaction for your position management procedure under general settings - accounting -- derived business transactions -- update types
After that it is similar to your other posting update types you need to specify the posting specification.
In TPM18, you need to give the Value date for realizing the gains on that date.

Ravi

  • Realized Gain/Loss and FC balance in Account Balance

    Hi Experts,
I am still waiting to get answers on the following problem and looking forward for a good suggestion on how to adjust the entry for 2005 A & B versions:
    1) We have customers and suppliers setup as MC and deal with FC transactions (example FC=SEK, and SEK is also our SC).
    2) But these customers and suppliers will always pay up with LC (SGD) and bank-in the paid amount to an bank account setup with LC(SGD) only.
    Problem:
If we select the the payment mean with the LC amount, we will face:
    a) the FC amount was not deducted from the account balance and finally show up a lot of FC balance, and most tedious when we face partial payment...difficult to trace...and worst is bank recon only show LC amount...why not both???
    b) the realized exchange gain/loss is not automatically calculated, even though the payment is in full by LC amount.
    I have questions:
    i) Why can't there should be a way that the payment entry (pay FC in LC) whereby on the BP (control a/c) line, the settled invoice amount (of each FC) shall be posted (acceptable with one line having FC amount and the bank line have no FC amount) ?
ii) Why can't the system generate the gain/loss at each payment time?
It is a more reasonable way.
    Thank you and regards,
    Joan Lim.

    Hi Kerstin,
I realized B1 2005 can't even fulfill basic finance requirements in that case.
In any MNC, for CFO, FC balances, realized gain/loss is most important factor for the company to look into cash flow.
Anyway, I have tried out many ways to explain to our CFO, finance department ...but all get disappointed with B1 2005.
I understand that B1 2007 already have the function, but as the huge $$ dump in on our add-on development in year 2007, it is not so easy to upgrade B1 2007 at all.
I am still looking forward for  patches in 2005 for these functions.
    Thank you and regards,
    Joan.

  • Forex Gain/loss posting from prior interest Accruals in capitaliization scenario !!

    Gurus,
    This is a decent question.
In SAP MM instruments, how do we post
Forex Gain/loss arisng from prior interest Accruals in capitaliization scenario !!
    1. Is it REALIZED OR UNREALIZED gain/loss?
    2. Should it even be considered Gain / Loss, in which case Accounting Entry will be like
    DR/CR Interest Accrued
    Cr/DR Interest Accrued Discount
    Please advise.
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
Can you explain what do you mean by prior interest acrruals in capitalization scenario.
If you have a MM product which you are capitalizing the interest , then for previous month the accrual interest posted which is already posted will remain.
I am not clear about the scenario. Care to explain it pls

  • TD gain loss posting in receiving location : Config

    HI All
any one of you able to tell me where is the place I can perform a config to post the gain loss at the receving storage location for STO related TD shipment.
    rgds

To be able to load a TD shipment you need a in-transit storage location per plant. This is customized in trans: O5AY. But it doesnu2019t have to be fixed. Please look at trans: O5A4 In this table, an intransit storage location can be maintained and allowed strategies. To be able to post gain/loss to the resaving storage location you have to load to that storage location in transaction O4G1 - Create/Change load.
If you customize transit location to be u201CAllow different intransit storage locationsu201D you can select any storage location in transaction O4G1 GOTO --> Transit loc/batch.

  • Gain/loss posting in Group Curr when local cur and doc cur is the same

When posting payment via F-28 we are getting currency gain/lost in group currency. The transaction and local currency are CLP. We are selling and receiving payment in CLP. Our group currency is USD. We are wanting to not see a currency gain/lost in USD when receiving payment. We would like the system to use the CLP:USD exchange rate in place at the time of the sale when we post the payment. Does any one have any advice on how to have the system to not calculate a currency gain/lost in group currency when document currency and local currency are the same AS the currency used for the sales and cash payment?

    Hi
I have an query. Normally we will use the group currency for reporting at the Company level. So the gain/ loss for USD should have impact at CCo level. And practically fromt eh business point of view, it seems to be correct to valuate your payments or receipts when you actually book them. Doesn't it?
    Thanks

  • How to post gain/loss on exchange rate from Money Market

    Dear Sap Expert,
I need your kindly help about posting gain/loss in Treasury with money market type.
My scenario use the product type 55A  - Interest rate instrument  and transaciton type = 200 borrowing in Foreign currency transaction as the transaction as belows,
Date                   Flow Type     Name                       Amouunt      currency     Exchange rate         Amt.Local currency
    19.10.2011         1105             Borrowing               10,000            USD               30.00                       300,000
    30.10.2011         1120             Final repayment       10,000            USD               30.00                      300,000
For the normally the system generate current exchange rate from the configuration .After that I try to change the Exchange rate manually in Flow type 1120 from 30.00 to be 31.00  then  the Amt.in Local currency changed to be 310,000 and the flow type gain/loss from exchange rate does not generate ( In Loan Management I can do it)
        On 19.10.2011 I use t-code TBB1 to post the borrowing transaction (1105)
On 30.10.2011 I use T-code TBB1 to post the Payment transaction but the gain/loss account does not happen.
For my question Can the system post  document for flow tpe 1120 (on 30.10.2011) with exchange rate realized gain/Loss automatically? or how should I do to make it correctly.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.

    Hi,
your customizing for Derived Business Transactions requires DBT_B flows in your PMP in order to post realized gains/losses.

  • Loading Ex Gain/loss on material with CKMLCP

    Hi Gurus,
I am facing one issue with material ledger and seeking you suggestion.
There are 2 accounts 514000 (for ex gain) and 514001( for ex loss). Whenever there is gain/loss posting to these accounts wrt import MIRO, such gain/loss would get loaded on material through CKMLCP - costing cockpit  execution. And it would generate opposit posting to these accounts.
(note: other gain/loss posting also go to these 2 accounts)
Per requirement, to have separate account for posting only import MIRO exchange gain/loss , I defined a substitution. So whenever there ex gain/loss system posts it to account 520001.
I ran one import cycle(PO, MIGO and MIRO), As per exchange rate in MIRO, there is ex gain posting to account 520001 as expected.
But when I run CKMLCP, this gain is not getting loaded on material. In CKM3, ex gain amount is shown in Ex Rt diff. column. And same amount is displaying in Differences column.
Could you pl suggest why its not getting loaded on material.
Price control in material master is S(std price) and price determination is 3 (Single-/Multilevel)
    Thank you in advance
    Regards
    Anand

Were you able to find an answer for this - we are having the same issue; Please let me know at the earliest?

  • Foreign currenvy gain/loss when partial payments are done at F-53

    Dear Experts,
       Hello.
User requests to create foreign currency gain/loss line items when execuitng partial payments at transaction F-53.
I have no idea about the requests.
Can someone tell me how to do it?
    Satoshi Matsumoto

    Hi,
Check the postings when instead of using "Partial Payment", the "Residual Items". In this case the foreign Exchange Rate differences arre getting calculated.
The reason being that in Partial Payment the original Item is not cleared and both the original item and partial payment is open, and hence no actual realized gain/ loss in technically. The exchange rate difference will get calculated in these lines, when doing the month end revaluation.
However in "Residual Item" option, the original item gets cleared and the exchange rate difference becomes realized. And the new item for the remaining balance gets created at new exchange rate.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

  • TD Shipment: Gain loss vs material on board

In a TD Shipment, if the entire loaded quantity is not delivered, is there always a gain/loss posted on closing the shipment? Can we have the remaining(load - discharge) quantity on board (on the vehicle), so that it can be used for delivering under different shipment?
Is there some customizing/ BADI to maintain (activate) these features?

In Delivery confirmation, you can use the 'Left On Vehicle' feature to retain the left over quantity in the Transport Unit's compartment. This avoids the load minus discharge difference posting and this quantity remains in the intransit storage location, from IM point of view. In a subsequent shipment where the same Transport Unit is in use, the left over quantity can be counted on as part of the load (using 'Prior To Load' feature) for which no transfer posting happens b'cos the material is already on-board (provided the dynamically determined storage location is same). It is also possible to rebrand this left over material segment if it differs from the current material segment being dispatched in which case a transfer posting happens.

  • Can We Change Realized gain and loss account in system option Receivables

    Hi All,
As part of our month end processes we are posting a manual journal each month to clear this GL account down to a nil balance.
Looking at the activity they all look to be automated AR postings on foreign currency transactions.
Is there any way we could get these to automatically post into account 01.2201.4901 instead of 01.9000.9757? This would save us having to do the manual journal and avoid the situation of missing any which we did last month.
    Regards,
    Raju.

    Hi Raju,
    option 1
You can change the Realized Gain and Loss Account from the System options form in Receivables, but this will be effective only for all new transactions that are going to get created and not for the existing one ...
    Option 2
If you do not want to modify the system options, you can override the values at the accounting time frame by configuring an Accounting Derivation Rule for the Realized Gain and Loss Journal Line Type. Again this would take effect on new transactions only
    Option 3
You can disable 01.2201.4901 and state its replacement is 01.9000.9757 in General Ledger module, so whenever system would use the replacement account for automatic processing ....
You have to keep running the Accounting analysis report in General ledger for the account string 01.9000.9757 every month to cross check whether you have passed all Manual Journal Vouchers to make the balance NIL ... i am not sure whether there is any other way of performing a cross checking and minimizing the time that is being consumed at present ....

  • A/R and A/P invoices and credit memo realized currency gain/loss report

    Hi,
We need some help in getting a report from SBO.
We would like to analyze their realized currency gain and loss account. We are lookiing into a report that shows the individual invoice/ credit memo foreign and local currency amount against the incoming / outgoing payment foreign and local currency amount.
Sometimes we  would do direct offset invoices in the incoming / outgoing payment, and sometimes it would be thru internal reconciliation. We have look thru the tables for the past 2 days but could not find any link between the invoices and payments especially so when reconciliation is performed.
Can this report be done either in XL Reporter or in SQL? If yes, which tables are these information store?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Whay Peng

    Hi Jimmy,
There is no need to run the exchange rate differences, when invoices that was offset during the incoming and outgoing payment. The realized currency gain/ loss account will be generated when the incoming and outgoing payment is made.
During reconcilation, yes we did run the exhange rate differences to get the realized currency gain / loss.
Could it be the two tables that you mentioned are storing information on the unrealised currency rate differences? We did not run exchange rates differences to provide for any unrealized gain/loss for the period, therefore the tables on our end is empty.
    Regards,
    Whay Peng

  • Exchange rate gain /loss is not posted in the contract

    Hi Sap People,
Exchange rate gain /loss is not posted in the contract(cashflows). This is w.r.t  SAP Banking Module.
The open items are posted with a certain exchange rate in the contract at the time of disburesment, while clearing thru FF68(incoming payment) with a new exchange rate the items
are cleared with the same exchange rate and the Exchange gain/loss is posted as zero.
    Regards
    Ravi

    Hi,
Check the exchange rate type for the disbursement.  It is M for FF68.  Check in configuration the exchange rate type.  Also check the exchange rates maintained in OB08 for this exchange rate type and confirm if there is any difference.
    Is it Loans module?

  • Gain Loss realized

    Hi Guys,
Anyone can explain to me this SAP behaviour :
    Company code currency = IDR
Invoice currency = USD with rate A
Payment phase 1 -> I'm using currency USD with rate B. There's a different rate between invoice and payment phase 1, but there's no gain/loss occured.
Payment phase 2 -> I'm using currency USD with rate C. There's gain/loss amount appeared.
Question : Why SAP only calculate gain/loss for full payment ? logically, when I pay the 1st phase, the rate is already different.
    Regards,
    -M-

    Hi,
As I understand from your mail.. your question is that when you make partial payment and there is a rate difference why is the Exchange Gain or loss not posted..If this is the question, please follow the following:-
While making Partial Payments also you can post forex gain/Loss but for that a little configuration is required. The IMG path is :-
Financial Accounting Global Settings (New)>Global parameters for Company code>Currencies>Indicate Currency Differences for partial payments.
Here against the document type, which you are using for making partial payments you have to tick that doc type and then the Forex gain/Loss gets posted even on partial payments.
