Really Verizon.... No IPhone for current customers!!!!

I am far from happy with Verizon. I have never had an issue. I loved Verizon, however I will be leaving Verizon as soon as my contract is up and going to AT&T. I love the service... but customer service is something that can be approved upon. 1 year ago, our contract was up yet again. My husband told me that we should not renew and that we should go to AT&T so we could get an I Phone. I told him that we should stay with Verizon, because we have had it for so long, blah blah blah. So we did. We stayed with Verizon. Lo and behold, Verizon comes out with the I Phone. We have 11 months until we are eligible for an upgrade. I am sure that I am not the only one, so I called several times and spoke with several different people and I was told that if we wanted the phones, we would have to pay almost $700 per phone! I find it astonishing that Verizon is going to offer new phones and better deals to someone that has never had service as opposed to a customer who has been loyal for all of these years. We were willing to upgrade the plans, resign for 2 more years and pay the $200 per phone. I think that this is fair. This also guarantees that we will be customers for another 2 years. Nope. They won't let you do it! I will not EVER sign the 2 years with this company again, nor will I recommend Verizon to ANYBODY...... I will be more than happy to pay $ 50.00 less per month, and get the phone that I want with AT&T for more minutes and more data than I am getting now. It would be one thing if the IPhone just came out, but it has not. It is new to Verizon, not new to the market.
It sucks to know that companies like this do not care about customers that have been loyal. I am sure that it sucks to know that they will be losing other potential and loyal customers due to the same issue.
Thanks for the terrible customer service and recovery.

You also agreed to do that 11 months ago when you got your current phones and signed your current contract. Who's to say you won't dip out again once something better comes along? If you do this and upgrade whenever you please, Verizon has the right to cut off your phone service whenever they please, or charge you extra whenever they want. It's a breach of contract. I'll tell you what. When you decide to give Verizon an extra $500 just for being a loyal phone company to you, you can get your beloved iPhones. You can't possibly think you're better than everyone else who saved their upgrade for the iPhone, and expect to "cut in line" so to speak. That's ridiculous. As another poster said, use the search on these forums and you'll find THOUSANDS of posts of people complaining about the same thing. The sense of entitlement these days is ridiculous.

  • Is there an option for current customers?

is there an option for current customers to keep their current plan when upgrading device after june 28? currently i have a family share plan with no data. when i upgrade, can i keep my current plan and add the $30 data or will i be forced into the hideous shared plan?
someone from another post said this:
You're not required to move to Share Everything but if you do, unlimited data will not be retained on your line. As a Verizon Wireless customer you have choices when you upgrade at discounted pricing. You can choose from a standalone data package starting at $30 for 2GB or a Share Everything Plan. If keeping unlimited is important to you, you can choose to upgrade and pay full retail price for the phone
can anyone confirm? the catch is i don't have data in my current plan. wonder if verizon will force to the new craptastic tiered data plan?

I have spoken to VZW 3x today, and the final answer is you are either required to move to one of these plans when you "upgrade" your phone, or leave it as is and pay FULL PRICE for your next phone.  That $200 iphone you have had your eye on will now cost you $650 if you want to keep your unlimited data.  I currently pay $64/month for 450 minutes, 200 text messages, and unlimited data.  I called and I was SOOOOOOOO MAD, but I was nice on the phone, and after 4 hours, I had an answer.  If I move to the new plan (yup, losing my unlimited data, and will be relegated to the 1GB/month), I will be charged $90/month, but that does not take into consideration my employee discount I currently receive.  With that discount, my cost goes to $66+tax.  So while in dollars and sense it sounds good, that is only if/when I stay under 1 GB data.  The second I go over, I pay $10 for the next GB.
I requested an early upgrade (I am due 8/15/12), otherwise I am gone.  I am sure the answer will be no, but that is OK.  10 years with them is not enough to keep me, especially if they won't bend.

  • Verizon process for iphones for existing customers......are you kidding me?????????

    Are you kidding me Verizon???
I did everything you told me in order to get my iphone right away.  I got up at 3 am on the 6th and your website was down more than it was up...by the time I was able to place my order you tell me you are no longer accepting pre-orders.  Try again on the 9th.
I stop in a store and they tell me they won't get any in the stores, I have to order on line or I will not be able to get my phone.
I get up on the 9th @ 3 am and place my order and they tell me I won't get the phone until the 18th.  I am in bed watching the news and they show a lady walking out of a store front with a new iphone.  Are you kidding me??? Was she an existing customer or not.  Who knows or cares.  I don't get mine until after the 18th.
So I go to a store front this morning and they have them in stock so I get my phone?  No because Verizon shipped the phone to me at 5 am this morning and they can't cancel the order.  They shipped it next day air with UPS but they didn't note for Saturday delivery so I won't get it until Monday....but there is another twist...the weather is bad and may delay the shipment...UPS can't tell me one way or the other so I may or may not get my phone on Monday and I have to stay home all day because they asked for a signature upon delivery.
Are you kidding me???  How is this customer service.  Verizon you asked for an email so you could anticipate how many iphones to order.  If you didn't get enough to service existing customers in a timely manner why didn't you tell us?  If you have the phones in the stores why didn't you send me an email saying that I could pick up my phone in the store and save you the cost of an expedited delivery from UPS?
So here I sit without an iphone. I've been a Verizon customer since they began.  I didn't switch to ATT when the iphone first came out.  I waited until they announced that they were coming to Verizon.  I did everything you asked me to and I still don't have my phone and am being put out to take off work on Monday or not get my phone until ???????????
If I ran my business this way I wouldn't have a business!
**bleep** in Columbus!   Are you kidding me????

Same thing happened to me.  Very frustrating.  My son and I were told four different things by four different reps and also from in store reps. We missed the pre-order, but my son went on-line at 3 AM on the 9th and ordered it.  Our I-phone was supposed to ship on the 18th so we cancelled the order and picked one up at the store yesterday 10 minutes after a rep told me I could cancel as long as it wasn't shipped out yet. Earlier another rep had told my son earlier we could bring the order number into the store and pick it up while another told him no you can't do that. After picking up the phone in store, I go online to cancel and can't find it anywhere.  I call and that rep tells me its just waiting for a tracking number to ship.  So within a half hour I have a second I-phone coming.  I called this morning and the order is now canceled, but I still have to deal with returning the other.  Had they told me it would ship today, I would have waited because my son didn't need it that bad, but what a frustrating experience.  Shame on you Verizon.

  • Why can't Verizon fix ordering for current Verizon customers?

It should be EASY to buy a Verizon offered phone off the Verizon website as a VERIZON CUSTOMER!
I'm autopay prepaid.  All I want is to purchase the Samsung G4 refurb off the site for the free deliver and activation.  However, the system says I have to add $45 service.  I'M A CUSTOMER WITH SERVICE!
Chat with a rep tells me I can call Customer Service later and have that fee used on my account.  DUH!  At that point I'm not on autopay and will lose my other 500mb!!
I'M A VERIZON CUSTOMER BUYING A VERIZON PHONE OFF THE VERIZON WEBSITE!  Why isn't it in my hands without losing 1/2 my data being charged $90 for my $45 service???

  • Global Roaming, when will Verizon step up for their customers!!!!

Is there any one that works at Verizon that knows anything at all about the Galaxy S3? Customers have been asking to enjoy the same benefits as other users of the Galaxy S3 on other carriers. When will Verizon get with the program? Someone from Verizon come forward and give us some straight answers on this device such as why they chose to lock the bootloader down, why not make it a Global Ready device from the start. Unfortunately for them it will not be soon enough to keep me as a customer. I am glad that our Company gives us the choice to decide our carrier and I will make the correct choice in October. Thank you Verizon for the memories (painful!). Knowing Verizon the answers will come to these questions as quickly as their updates roll out! Good luck to all that stay with Verizon.

Google your request. VZW has stated many times why the boot loader is locked down

  • Is my Apple-Issued Replacement for a Verizon-Issued iPhone 5 Unlocked?

Due to a water accident I went to Apple and they sold me a replacement for my Verizon-Issued iPhone 5.  If I understand correctly, Verizon's iPhone 5 was shipped to customers unlocked.  Is the phone that I got from Apple as a replacement (and I was told that I was getting exactly what I already had) unlocked?  I really need to know as I am about to go overseas.
    Thanks

Yes, the GSM side of your replacement phone is unlocked.

  • My iPhone 6 order was canceled without my permission and without reason or explanation. I have had a verizon cell phone for 13 years and have gotten your cable/internet/phone when i moved out on my own because i had been so happy with the experience i had

I have had a verizon cell phone for 13 years and have gotten your cable/internet/phone when i moved out on my own because i had been so happy with the experience i had with the cell phone service. i ordered my new iPhone 6 on October 6th along with my husband. i was told by the sales associate at the vierzon store where i placed the order that it would ship a week before halloween. instead of a shipping confirmation, i received an email a week before halloween letting me know that my order had been placed on 10/24/14. i thought this was weird, but figured i could weight another week or two, no big deal. my husband got his phone in the mail yesterday. still no sign of mine. then this morning i got an email letting me know that my order was cancelled and if id like to place another order for a phone, then i can go back to the store and do so. why would i want to go through another month of this??? verzon lost my order. i never canceled it and i am beyond annoyed. i am looking to switch my entire house to another provider. this is ridiculous.

i did not get any reasons or explanations. the email just stated that my order was canceled and that it won't be posted to my credit card (i have more than enough to cover the cost, so that is not the issue). also my husbands phone was paid for from the same card moments before me. my balance is always paid automatically and on time. so that couldn't be the reason either. that's what so frustrating is because they didn't explain what happened. this is what the email read exactly:
"This email is to confirm that your order has been cancelled; you have not been billed for this merchandise.
If you would like to place a new order, you may do so by visiting your local retail store or going online to www.verizonwireless.com.
Business customers should refer back to their local Verizon Wireless Sales Representative if you have any questions or would like to place a new order.
Thank you, and we look forward to your business in the future.
    Verizon Wireless"
it almost feels like its saying that i canceled it and that this was to confirm that i did. but i didn't cancel anything.

  • Why doesn't Verizon offer any Contacts backup solution for prepaid customers?

So I used to be on a contract plan, had my branch office close down, went out of work, and ended up having my contract lapse (this was a couple years ago). After all the monthly service charges for two lines mounted up before Verizon actually shut off the service, combined with early disconnect penalties and the like, the final bill was like $1100.
I wasn't about to pay this, so I ended up switching to a prepaid plan. I understand that prepaid services naturally will carry certain limitations and restrictions of service as compared to contract plans, but one of the most absurd and ridiculous limitations is having no way to backup contacts, whether in general, or when switching devices (particularly from Android to Apple, or vise versa).
As soon as I switched to prepaid, the Backup Assistant feature designed exclusively to backup contacts stopped working. To add, the Verizon Cloud service is not available for prepaid customers. You would think as small as a vcf namecard file is to backup, that either 1) Verizon Cloud should be accessible to prepaid customers, maybe not to the extent of backing up photos, etc., but at least to backup contacts, or 2) enable the original Backup Assistant feature for prepaid customers to backup contacts.
I'm now switching from an Android device to an Apple device, and Verizon is offering me no solutions to backup my contacts, other than a customer service rep telling me I could try taking both devices in to a store to see what they could do, but promised nothing in regards to them actually being able to do it. Android to android is simple, as you can export your contacts to an external SD card, and then import them back in via the external SD. But when switching to apple device, you can't do that. There's also no indication I could import contacts from Gmail to an apple device.
Even after getting gouged with an $1100 collection debt from Verizon due to an unfortunate loss of job, I stayed loyal to them, continue to reach in to my pocket and send them money every month for the last 2 years on prepaid, yet I can't even backup my contacts? It's completely absurd.

if you have an iPhone you'd just do it through iCloud( I ssume ) and if you have Android you'd just do it through your Google account

If I buy an iPhone from the Apple website, and then go to Verizon to activate it, will it reset my 2 year contract? Also, will Verizon charge extra for activating since the price on Verizon is higher than the Apple website's priceIt'
It's all very confusing to me, I need some answers from experienced customers.

I already checked. I purchased my iPhone 3G on the launch date back in July '08. I've paid the bill the day my bill was issued, days ahead of its due date, and for some reason, even through it's magic 8-ball wisdom, said I was not eligible for and upgrade. Not till Dec. of this year at least.
So even though my phone is now technically 'mine' and off their contract, they still won't unlock it for me? How come?

It sounds like it still has her information on it, so it might be efficient to navigate to Settings, then General, then Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. You can then set up the phone again, using your information. This way the phone will be yours, officially, and her data and information will be removed.

  • HT4061 I traded in my iPhone for samsung. The info n it has been wiped out. Don't have he serial no. Because I was not able to to receive txt mags from former imessage iPhone users verizon had me delete my iPhone and my ipad products in Apple store. Not w

Yesterday i traded my iPhone for a galaxy. All of my contacts who have iPhones can no linger text me because my phone number when chosen comes up with imessage option only. The only way they can txt me is to shut off their imessage when texting to me then have to out it back on for others - this is not the correct solution. So i then called verizon tech and also went in person to make sure my iPhone imessage was off before they wiped it clean. It still didn't work. I then went online and to the apple store and edited all my devices and removed them from the apple store and still not working. He last thing I did was went into my only other device, the ipad and went into imessage and took my phone number out of the screen and then shut off imessage there too. Somehow my phone number is still associated with iPhone. The iPhone is wiped clean. Hopefully you can help

Call AppleCare, because, according to Apple, removing the devices from your support profile should have fixed this issue. You can also try changing your Apple ID password, but given what you've done, I doubt this will help.

Why is there no Verizon Interactive Simulator for my iPhone 5s?  The Verizon page for obtaining a Verizon hotspot is available for all phones except Apple, why?

        Captfrog-
I understand the importance of interactive simulators because they are so useful when learning tips and tricks about the phones.  I apologize we don't have one listed on our page for the iPhone 5s, but here is a link so you can get more information online http://bit.ly/1bRR5ss .  Have a great rest of your day!
