Reassign target schema to another run-time repository

I like to assign a target schema to another runtime repository (of course in the same database).
In the target schema contains already deployed objects, so drop an recreating of the target schema is not really a good option.
thanks,
Guido Hemeleers

Hi
For sure, you absolutely not need to do drop and recreate your target schema.
What you need to do is register your location in 'another runtime repository' to your 'current target schema'. If the modules for 'another runtime repository' already register to anything else, you need to UNregister first and Re_register.
OWB is very flexible to switch repository, locatin here there. If this reply is not enough for you, please give more detail information.

    Hi,
I am getting this error when i component work bench.view BT26H_APPT/ApptDetails is not defined in the run time repository that was loaded. can i manually load in run time repository or how can i approach this issue.
    rose.

    Hi Rose,
While enhancing any component using an enhancement set you can give any name for bsp application under customer namespace ( like z, y) but usually when we create a new application we just put the z or y infront of the component name and create it  for example if you want to enhance bp_head_search then usually people create a new bsp appl with name zbp_head_search because it will help in finding it in se80 to figure out the component anyway you can give any name if you want.
For each component you need to create a new bsp appl.
You should use one enhancement set per client, you can use sm30 and view BSPWDV_EHSET_ASG  to define your enhancement set for each client.
So to enhance all the component in same client you should use same enhancement set for that client.
I think that would be useful, let me know if you have any other doubts.
    Thanks,
    Shobhit

  • One schema for OWB Design repository, runtime repository and target schema

Currently we have contents of OWB Design schema, runtime schema and target schema all combined into one schema of the same database in OWB 9.0.2 as well as OWB3i. We like to move to OWB10g in very near future. Can we keep the same structure for convenience of migration in OWB10g? Is it mandatory that OWB design repository (and components) must be separate from OWB run time repository (and components) and target schema? In other words is it possible and workable to use only one schema to contain OWB design repository, OWB run time repository and target schema in OWB10g environment with repositories to be situated on Oracle v9.2.0.1.0? Also what special considerations should be taken to create the database v9.2.0.1.0 and installation of OWB10g. What are the problems/side-effects to have all in one schema?
Also please let me know how to install Oracle Workflow server to be used along with OWB. Will OWB10g work with repository on Oracle database v9.2.0.1.0?
Your prompt advice will be very well appreciated.
    Sankar

The design repo is a metadata repo that stores all the design-time objects and so forth.
It is an architectural decision that you or your team need to decide on. There are many flexible ways to architect an OWB infrastructure.
Also, your repository users will be using the design repository on the the other DB instance to do their design work...potentially less people always hitting the target database all the time.

  • Target Schema Registered to Multiple Repository

    Hello Everybody,
We have OWB 10G2 installed on a linux server and some target schemas are associated to the OWB repository. Now We want to create another OWB repository on Windows server but would like to use the same target schema which the other OWB repository is using.
I was going through the OWb istallation guide and it says "One target schema associated with multiple repositories, however, is not permitted".
Is there any other way out to do this...and incase we need to register other schema as target schema to the new repository..Is it compulsory to have that target schema on the same database on which the repository is installed.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
a target schema is always assiciated to one repository. That repository is the runtime environment for your mappings.
You may have two repositories for development on different machines and deploy the the same target, but I would not recommend it.
But it is common the other way round: you have one repository on machine A where you do the development of your mappings, then you deploy to a target on machine B (for testing) and to a target on machine C (production).
See the manual for different architecture scenarios.
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • Run time license

I am planning for a system that may be distributed to multiple locations.
I want to know if the system is developed in Labview, do I need to install a RUN time system in each computer, and usually, do we need to buy a license for each of the run time system installed?
I know that for LV 2009, it seems that it requires a RUN TIME ENGINE for any Labview system, I remember for LV 7, it does not need that. Is that correct?
I may also need to use the Vision module, it does have another RUN TIME system, and do we need to purchase a license for each installation?
How about the image acquisition and the camera driver, again, if that part of the function is used, do we need to be purchase a license for each installation?
How about system implemented in Lab windows?  Is there a Run time license needed and do we need to purchase for each of them?
    Thanks

    Yes
do we need to pay for each of the run time system installed?
No (I'm talking about the LabVIEW RunTime).
I know that for LV 2009, it seems that it requires a RUN TIME ENGINE for any Labview system, I remember for LV 7, it does not need that. Is that correct?
No. All versions of LabVIEW have required the RunTime Engine for built applications. With old versions this was pre-"attached" into the application. But it was still there.
I may also need to use the Vision module, it does have another RUN TIME system, do we need to purchase a license for each installation ?
    Yes
How about the image acquisition and the camera driver, again, if that part of the function is used, do we need to be purchase a license for each installation ?
    See here.
How about system implemented in Labwindows? Is there a Run time license needed and do we need to purchase for each of them?
Yes. But like the LabVIEW one, it's free.
NOTE: All of the answers above could have been found from a simple search on the NI site for "run-time license".

  • How do I create installer that checks the available Run Time Engine on the target system

    Hi,
I am looking for a soultion on custom Installer where this Installer once done with the Installation should be capable of checking the presence of Runtime Engine on the target system. I amaware of including/checking the LV RTE checkbox for such options and we are working on some other concept. The thing is we would like to give the user a pop-up or any message that shows the presence of Runtime engine on the target system after finishing the installation. In case the runtime engine is not already installed on the target system, this time the message will be for the link to get the .exe and close the installation.
Overall we would like to minimize the size of our Installer that in case will get increased if we include Run Time Engine along with the Installer.
I am also assuming that such checking can be done through Advanced Tab in the Installer properties by including any such .exe for performing those things but looking for more options if possible to get it done.
Please do let me know if someone has any idea about it.
    Thnaks in Advance,
    Vivek

    Hi teststand,
you can start another program which checks if the rte is available. It should also be possible with only a batch file.

  • How to create a variant to a report from another program at run time

    Hi experts,
when i am using FM  :  /OSP/REPORT_CREATE_VARIANT to create a report variant from a program then i am getting  an error 'For object /OSP/ERPNR , number range interval 01 does not exist ', how should i avoid it or can any one help me out to create a report variant from another program at run time with the results of the program.so that i can execute the report from here with this variant

    If i understand you,
    - You can use a FM like [RS_CREATE_VARIANT|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_all&query=rs_create_variant+&adv=false&sortby=cm_rnd_rankvalue] to create a variant and then use it in the [SUBMIT|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/fa/096d67543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm] statement USING SELECTION-SET.
    - But you may also use SUBMIT with WITH parameters which doesnt require variant creation and with much less programming efforts.
    - You can mix the two solutions also.
So what is you actual requirement, also look at some documentation like [ Scheduling a Job: Full-Control Method|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/fa/096ce5543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm]

  • How to install Vision run-time engine to a desktop PC converted to real-time target

    Hi, all
I don't know how can I install the vision run-time engine to a desktop PC which I converted to a real-time target.  The same problem applies to installing real-time run-time engine and labview run-time engine to the real-time target.  The only way to install software to real-time target is through "add/remove software" in MAX for remote system, but it is not for all types of run-time engine installation.
I am also confused about how to activate those run-time engines for the desktop PC as real-time target.

  • Need a quick answer - Inserting into a target located in another schema

    on same instance. pls reply.
    OWB msg is:
Loading of data across database link is not supported. Deploy this mapping within the same database instance as the actual target and remove the database link access specification from the physical configuration of this data target operator.
What I am doing involves placing data into a table in another schema - error tracking.
    OWB 9.2.0.8
    - Jojo

I too faced the same problem when loading target tables in different databases. I dont think this can be done.
The way out is create a table having the same structure in your target schema and load it with this mapping and then create a one to one mapping to load the actual table in the other database.

  • Repository / Target schema.

    Hi all...
    Is the following right?
The repository has the function to store owb objects. Such as pre defined owb procedures. On the database level is just a schema into a databse. Projects can use the same repository. Is this recremended?
The target schema is an other db schema where you create the new object, like new tables and where you load the data to. Each project will use his own target schema?

Projects can use the same repository. For what projects can use the same repository?
Projects is no more than set of objects (tables, mappings, etc.) in OWB design repository.
The target schema is an other db schema where you create the new object, like new tables and where you load the data to.
Each project will use his own target schema? Each project may has several target schemas (target modules).
But all target modules in one project and even all modules in all your projects can use the same LOCATION -
in this case all projects will use single target schema in database.

  • XAI Schema Editor: Run-Time Error 380

I created a new Page Maintenance object that I am planning to expose via XAI. I deployed the compiled JAR to my local development copy of CC&B. When I started Schema Editor and tried to create a new service schema, I was able to find my service in the list of available services. However, when I chose my service, I received the error "Run-time Error '380': Invalid property value". Now every time I restart Schema Editor and try to create a new service schema, I get the same error, even before I can select my service from the list.
Has anyone run into this problem before?

Do you mean when you attempt to select a Service? i.e. from Schemas->Create->Service?
If so, the recently/last selected/searched service is written to the registry in the following path:
    HKEY_CURREN_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\CISXAI\Recents
    HKEY_USERS\{Class ID}\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\CISXAI\Recents
    under key 'G3Service'.
Empty the key value or replace it with some known service name.
Note: Backup your registry before making any changes.
