Rebel T5i. Batt. Good, wil not power on. Never dropped, never wet. I'm lost without it. What to do?

Rebel T5i

There are two micro-switches on the camera.  One is in the door frame of the battery compartment.  One is in the door frame of the memory card compartment.  The doors must be closed and fit correctly or the camera will not power on.   Also, are you using any 3rd party accessories on this camera (in particular, are you using a "battery grip"?)

  • I have PE11, new camera Canon Rebel t5i, in raw format, "not supported by installed version of raw".

I am using Photoshop Elements 11, using WIndows 7 Operating System. I have a new camera Canon Rebel T5i, and having problem viewing images in raw format (cr2).
Message in PE11, states, "Camera model not supported by installed version of Camera raw."
    Canon software views images.
Suspect my minimum camera raw plug in version does not support this new camera....
I am unable to locate in the software any menu item that allows me to view the camera raw plug  in version.
Appreciate any support from our Adobe forum.

Ice Storm of 2013 has hit hard, plenty of downed tree limbs and all terrain is shiny !!

At least one person was able to get ACR 8.3 to install into PSE11 using the direct-download link for ACR 8.3 CC  on Adobe’s blog, so you might try that:

After downloading, if on Wndows, unzip the setup.zip to somewhere, like your Desktop, and then run the AdobePatchInstaller.  I expect there’s a similar process for Macs, but I don’t have one so cannot advise, specifically.

My CS5 program does not support CR2 photo taken with Canon Rebel T5i camera.  Why?

If you take a look at the following charts, you will find that both the S110 and the T5i are not supported in CS5, both cameras require photoshop CS6 with a camera raw point upgrade, Photoshop CC or Lightroom 4.3(s110) 4.4(T5).

  • Canon Rebel T5i automatically stops recording after about 6 seconds. How can I disable or fix this?

I just got a Canon Rebel T5i and I was testing out the video and several times it will automatically stop recording after about 6 seconds. How can I fix or disable this?

And while buying said faster card... buy a REPUTABLE brand from a reputable vendor.  I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of fly-by-nights making cards that are not as fast as they claim to be.
Reputable vendors are companies like Sandisk and Lexar.  But as an SD card is just a plastic card with a sticker on it, and stickers are pretty easy to fake, buy the card from a vendor you can trust is not selling fakes.
This is one item where it is probably not a good idea to try to save money by finding the cheapest deal you can find on the Internet.

  • IPhone will not power on after update

    Dear Apple,
I currently have your iPhone 3GS which I received approximately 18 months ago. However, after updating the OS Software the device has decided to not power on. After speaking to your Apple Support Centre, they booked me an appointment at Apple Bentall Centre, Kingston, London, UK.
My device was looked at by a representative named Vanessa Baldwin who claimed that the device would not power on and that seeing as it is out of warranty, the only option I had was to replace it costing £139. I then asked to speak to the Store Manager Leigh Baigent, who reiterated Vanessa Baldwin's suggestion. He also added that the device would not power on due to a fault on the motherboard and had nothing to do with the battery. I proceeded to explain to your staff that I would expect a £400 iPhone to last longer than 18 months and that under The Sale of Goods Act 1979, a retailer is responsible for the items they sell for up to six years in England and Wales regardless of warranty. Your staff expressed a blank look towards me as if I spoke a foreign language and dismissed my claims.
I am therefore making formal contact with Apple directly to sort the matter.
Any help would be appreciated, please do not give me a story about warranty / insurance guidelines
I look forward to your response.

I would probably advise you to e-mail, or make contact by phone, rather than making a complaint on the Support communities page.
I hope your lucky in succesfully getting a new iPhone however

2nd Gen Time Capsule - will not power up - just stopped working all of a sudden - I have tried other power outlets - I have tried pressing the reset button - no light

The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
    The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.

You need camera raw 8.4 for your camera, if it’s Digital Rebel T5 EOS 1200D EOS Kiss X70. It is not compatible with PSE11; so it’s a bit odd if that software was bundled with the camera except that it will work with jpegs. I suggest you download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the DNG files will editable in PSE11(keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.4
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Can't open Canon Rebel T5i raw file in elements 10

I am trying to open a raw file (CR2) in my Elements 10 program, but I keep getting error messages that it's the "wrong type of file".
I've looked around & downloaded the plug-in that was supposed to fix that, but it still isn't working.
    What am I missing??
PS - I am also using Windows 7, the camera raw plug in version is 6.7.0.339, and my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i

so I just followed this link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5316&fileID=4946
because it looked like my camera raw plug in needed updating, but I got an installation error code: U44M2P7

my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i
The Rebel T5i was first supported by Camera Raw 7.4 which is only compatible with Elements 11 and later
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
Unfortunately Elements 10 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. It's not compatible with Camera Raw 7.4 so it'll never be able to open T5i Raw files.
If you want to open T5i Raw files in Elements, you'll have to upgrade to Elements 12.
Alternatively, if you want to stick with Elements 10, you can download the free DNG converter from Adobe, convert all T5i Raw files to DNGs. Then open the DNGs in Elements 10.

Does it power on if you plug in the charger?
But to be honest I see in your description it says 'Late 2011' so there is a good chance you have warranty right, I would take it to Apple store and let them sort it out

  • My ipod is flashing black and going to the power off screen? Never dropped my ipod, and did not get liquid in it?

I always make sure to take good care of my ipod, I have no warrnety, It has not been 3 years yer, never spilled anyhting on it nor did i drop/crack it. It happened randomly. Why would this happen...I have restored it tow times and yet happens, it flashes black and constanyl taking me to power off botton..
I'm really frustrated and can't afford another one..It was ios 4 something when i bought, bought it in 2010 march

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 14" iBook G4 will not power up.

I left it on last night and when I got home this morning it looked like it was asleep so I moved the mouse, hit the space bar and nothing happened, the glowing sleep light was still on. I waited a few minutes and tried again. Being impatient I took the battery out and unplugged it. I waited 5 hours and went back, put the battery in, plugged it back in and it still does nothing. I did the ctrl, shift, option, power and got nothing and I also reset the PMU or whatever that is called. I also should mention that my power cord is showing a green light and my battery is only showing one flashing green. Can someone help me please? Thank you!

Could be the power adapter is not working properly; I say this because a
few other users with a green indicator light on their portable's power cord
and a low battery, appeared to have a bad AC power adapter. Some also
had a bad or difficult acting battery. So, maybe the AC power adapter is
no longer charging the battery; and if so, that'd be a definite no-go.
There are times when the power adapter's plug isn't firmly
pressed into the iBook's power port; or if the port is loose,
that may indicate a different repair could be needed. If
    power isn't getting to the battery, that could be a circuit;
a bad battery, [and or] a bad power adapter.
This is matter of troubleshooting hardware now; and later on, you may
need to do some maintenance to the system after it is running again.
Another item that could be at fault, may be the DC-in board; that would
be one of the three things that could be causing the power issues. The
other two, being the AC Power Adapter, and the battery. When you get
into these matters, resetting the PMU wouldn't directly change much
unless the microchip that is the power management unit, was corrupt.
Then, you'd reset it so the charging and power management systems
could try and cycle to charge the battery. But if the DC-in circuit is
the cause, that is a part near the logicboard and can be costly. One
indicator of a bad DC-In board is if the AC Adapter's plug is loose in
the computer; but it need not be loose to have an internal defect.
So, you may need to either find another known-good working AC
power adapter that'll work with your computer, and also, a working
compatible battery; then you could see if the system sees these
and responds properly. If the parts are good and they don't act
right, you may have to reset the PMU. Also, if a good battery does
not show up properly in the menubar's battery gauge, you can reset
the gauge by running the computer to zero power on battery, and after
a low-battery warning appears while using the computer, keep it on
until the machine goes to sleep. Then, plug in the AC Adapter.
Of course, this "calibrates" the battery; it would do no good if the
battery is not yours to continue using with the computer, since a
new battery should be similarly calibrated initially and later in use.
With the computer running, you can look into System Preferences>
    Energy, to see the charger (if on AC power) and the battery status;
charging cycles, milli-amphours, capacities, and other info. This can
tell you when a battery is near end-of-life, before it fails. A little late
now, but the information could be used at another time, and in another
computer if you wanted to check your battery in another computer.
A qualified Apple certified technician or service center which knows
these machines could troubleshoot the adapter, the battery & iBook.
Hopefully this helps some. Best wishes and seasons greetings.
