Rebuilding Site with Modal Windows in Muse

My portfolio site uses JavaScript to create a modal window with a width based on the size of the visitor's browser window. I'd like to recreate the site with Muse, but I'm not sure how to recreate this function. How do I incorporate the current JavaScript into a Muse website? Is there a Muse widget that replicates the function? Thanks.

For a separate window in browser you can use composition widgets within Muse , in case you want to use your own code you can use Insert >HTML option in Muse pages.

JRE 1.5.0_13 problem with Modal Window

We have stand alone browser based application built on HTML, Javascript, and Java (non-GUI applet). We were running the Sun JRE 1.4.2_06, but have recently upgarded to 1.5.0_13. As soon as we upgraded to 1.5, started experiencing the below problem -
The HTML screen displays a modal windows which makes a Java call to the MQClient software through Applet (via OBJECT Tag) to communicate with mainframe. The MQClient Java code seems to be blocked until the user clicks on any other area of the screen to shift the focus from our modal dialog to any other window (either clicking on the task bar, clicking on another window in the background, or hitting Alt/F10 key).
The same code runs fine with JRE 1.4.2_06.
Based on a further analysis+ it seems like there is an issue, when a modal html window makes a java call for creating a socket connection (other then localhost). In this scenario, socket is never created unless you drag a modal window or move a focus away from a modal window.
Above problem seems to be resolved with JRE 1.6.0_10.

.. All the Java class files are bundled in a zip file under different packages and Zip file path is provided at run time when Application starts. We are putting all paths in a single variable (APP_CLASS_PATH) and using that variable as a parameter value in Object Id tag for creating an Applet. Below is the code snnipet for Object Id tag -Sun has championed a script to use for applet versioning and writing the applet element. I suggest you use it instead, it is known as 'deployJava.js' - see top hit at Google for details.

Darken CF8 and MODAL Window??

Hi,
Is there anyway to change the overlay of a the background
when I create a cfwindow? Right now when I set modal:true in the
config it works fine, but I would like the background to be more
dimmed/darkened to make the cfwindow/popup stand out a bit more. I
frequently see sites with modal functionality and personally I
think it looks better when the background of the page is a bit
darker.
Any idea on how can I do this if at all?

WestSide, I think what you're trying to do is create a
lightbox effect. Look at www.dcbar.org/lightbox.cfm. There are
several parts that make the effect work on that page.
1. The embedded style sheet in the <HEAD> of the
document.
2. The link which triggers the lightbox to open:

3. The division on the page which contains lightbox content.
One thing I like about this solution is that it accepts anything as

Yes i had restart Muse and my mac. I have no more message than a red hexagon with an exclamation point and the message : "erreur inconnue" no number nothing more.

Please! can anyone tell me if after I create a site with adobe muse, is there anyway for my client to edit and update text and to a lesser extent images on the website?
I don't care if the client text/image editing and updating doesn't update in my Adobe Muse, as long as my client can update the text online.
Please help me answer this question, I have used adobe for decades (2) and am a print designer. I want to use Muse for websites but if my clients can't update text and images, I don't see how I can make it work.
If I have to use Business Catalist too; I don't care. I just want to be able to use this great software.
Sorry if I soud desperate but I'm holding on starting a website for a new client and need to get this answered first.

At the moment you can't using Muse's widgets, though you can insert html! So, you could have photo galleries linked to flickr that the client can update to, for example. I'm sure there are other options for slicker slideshows that can be updated client side!

Secure Zone login feature will only work if you host your website with Business catalyst.

Hello, I am writing as I am experiencing some issues with my favorite web browser after updating to Windows 8.1. Here are some details. I updated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and ever since Firefox has run somewhat strangely. In particular when on sites with a lot of images like Facebook. It is like there is some kind of Flikr effect between the desktop and the images and between the images and the browser (almost like old 16 bit video games flikering). It is not too bad but it is an issue. I have tried resetting firefox and restarting the computer. I haven't tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall yet.

Problems with the windows update site in 32-bit Vista Business

Hi Everyone,
I am experiencing problems with the windows update site. As far as I know it shold make a link to the Windows Update module on-board and show the available updates after scanning. However, I get to the page that says "Checking if your computer has the latest version of Windows updating software for use with this website" and the next page I get is "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view". The error number is 0x80070002. I go to the knowledge base and delete the content of the Data Store folder as advised, but to no use at all. Active X controls are enabled Java is working fine. I've cleaned the register and everything, did a complete scan with Onecare as advised by Microsoft, which did not find anything but again the same error message. I am using KIS 2009 and I am sure I have no viruses or any other malware. I even tried to go to the update site with the KIS switched off but to no avail too. On the other hand I don't have problems with the automtic updates and when I run a manual update from the Update module everything is OK. Do you have any suggestion as to what might be the issue with the website updates?
P.S. I am using 32-bit Windows Vista Business on a Lenovo W500.

You can use their BC login details and use them , which on publish the site will be under their account.
Please change the BC login from Edit > Preferences > Publish > Switch Accounts , for Mac it would Adobe Muse > Preferences

Trouble hosting muse site with Business Catalyst

I built a site with muse and am hosting with BC(creative cloud subscription). The original site is kittlesoncreekpress.businesscatalyst.com, trying to publish to www.kittlesoncreekpress.com but I get a 404 error when I try to publish. The namesservers are set correctly with domain registrar.

When I tried to access kittlesoncreekpress.com, the URL that came up is http://www.kittlesoncreekpress.com/www.kittlesoncreek.com
Notice the www.kittlesoncreek.com after the domain name.
I have checked all the settings on the business catalyst end for the site kittlesoncreekpress.businesscatalyst.com, and they seem fine. The domain has been added correctly, the nameservers are fine as well. Please check if there is some fowarding etc. applied to the domain from the registrar's end.

Can I replace a published muse site with one I have been working on?

I have published a muse site as a holding page on a webasics plan, and while that has been live I have started a new muse file an built a website which I intended
to replace the holding page with.
I am having trouble figuring out how to replace a already published site with a new muse file?

Hello,
You simply need to select the same site from the list of sites in the dropdown, while publishing it from Muse. This will replace the existing site with the one you have built in Muse now.

Modal window can't show window with viewset???

Hi all,
I use the following code to create a popup modal window. When i embed only one view, it works fine, but when i embed a viewset, and put multiple views into the viewset, it can only pop up a tiny little area with nothing in it.
is there a reason for this? what do i do to pop up a window with viewset?
