Receive warning on Concurrent request

Hi All,
I am running the preliminary payment register while creating a payment batch but receive a warning message.
APP-FND-00500: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried to spawn the print process
Cause: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from the OSD routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried to spawn the print process.
Please give me any suggestions to how to fix this.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
What is the application release?
Do you get this warning with all concurrent requests or just with this specific one?
Please go through the following documents and see if it helps in resolving the issue.

  • XML Output from Concurrent Request DBMS_XMLGEN

    I am trying to create xml output for a concurrent request, using the DBMS_XMLGEN package to generate my XML?
    I have gotten so far as to be able to run my procedure and see the output in TOAD using dbms_output.put_line, but I can't seem to quite get the right link to convert this to Oracle Apps output.
    I have a concurrent request setup to output XML.
    This calls my procedure to return to the output file.
    So far, when I run from APPS, all that shows in the Output file is 'XML document must have a top level element.'
    Here is the relevant code...
    ctx DBMS_XMLGEN.ctxHandle; -- vars to convert SQL output to xml
    xml clob;
    xmlc varchar2(4000);
    off integer := 1;
    len integer := 4000;
    i number := 0;
    rc_data sys_refcursor;
    begin
    -- this calls simple open cursor for sql statement, returns rows
    rc_data := fa10022_data(P_BOOK_TYPE_CODE
    , P_STATE
    , v_BEG_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , v_END_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , P_BEG_ASSET_ACCT
    , P_END_ASSET_ACCT
    , v_depr_per_ctr);
    ctx := dbms_xmlgen.newContext(rc_data);
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowsetTag(ctx, 'XXFA10022');
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowTag(ctx, 'G_DATA');
    xml := dbms_xmlgen.getXml(Ctx);
    i := dbms_xmlgen.getNumRowsProcessed(ctx);
    dbms_xmlgen.closeContext(Ctx);
    apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.output, xml);
    I was also following this link...
    http://www.appsassociates.com/products/Generation_XML_PLSQL.pdf
    any suggestions?
    Thanks!!
    Janel

    That was painful, but it helped!
    Most of it is workflow code...POXMLGEN contains the pertinent coding.
    I think my problem now lies with some of my data. Depending on what is returned, I sometimes receive a warning with no output. I know there are special characters in the data (ex eacute), but I can't tell if that is what is causing the issue. I do have the statement dbms_xmlgen.setConvertSpecialChars(ctx, TRUE); in my code, so not sure what else to do.
    This is what is being returned in OPP log...
    Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

  • Is it possible to bypass stages defined in Concurrent Request Set

    Hi,
    I have a concurrent request stages where there are multiple stages defined(corresponds same concurrent program with different parameter values) and this request is called from backend.
    The way the stages are presently defined is on success,error & warning it will go to the next stage (e.g stage1 -> stage 2 -> stage3).
    Now I have a requirement where based upon some condition, I would receive parameter values for stages. E.g I would received parameter for stage 1 to run and stage 3 to run and no parameter for stage2. In this case what I want is in the request set, stage 1 program will run and then stage 3 program will run bypassing the stage2 program as no parameter value received for stage 2 program.
    Will there be any change required in the way the the link stages are defined or if there is any other way to accomplish the same.
    Ultimate aim is that all the required stages(1,2,3......and so on w) will be defined but based upon the parameter value availability, corresponding stages will run like 1 then 3 then 5 and request set should complete.
    I am assuming that its possible so I a trying for some workaround within PLSQL itself. Appreciate if any one can throw some light on this if clearing only the link stages could be a solution.

    What version of the DB are you running?
    Here is a PL/SQL example: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/xml-over-http.php
    You could also do it in Java: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/dbcalloutws-howto-084195.html

  • Concurrent requests failing due to Linux CUPS service

    Dear all,
    We have a customer running their production instance on e-business suite -11.5.10.1 with Rdbms - 10.2.0.3. It is a single-node, single-tier installation running on Redhat Linux 3 (Update-8)
    Whenever, concurrent programs are submitted with Print option, the concurrent requests keep hanging and never complete. At this time, the CUPS service uses 25% of the CPU time. If we restart the CUPS service, all requests complete with warning -
    lpr: unable to print file: server-error-service-unavailable
    APP-FND-00500: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried
    to spawn the print process
    Cause: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from the OSD routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried to spawn the
    print process.
    The only workaround, is to run the concurrent request, without print option. But, this is not an option.
    Please suggest a fix for this CUPS issue.

  • How To Schedule a Concurrent Request on completion of a Spawned Request

    As soon as the concurrent request submitted through Oracle Form(Consolidation Transfer)is completed we need to schedule another Concurrent Request which had to be kicked off automatically on completion of the First concurrent request. Since, the First concurrent request of Consolidation Transfer is a Spawned Program, the request set could not be created, to kick off the second concurrent program.
    I would Appreciate if anyone can advise any solution to achieve this objective.

    Hi Harish,
    Doesn't matter what you need to do all you need is the hook!
    a) Nice. Force the request to print and use print driver to call CONCSUB to submit your new "child" request
    -- Since the Consolidation Trasnfer concurrent request could only be submitted through Consolidation Trasnfer Form only, I am not sure how we can do Force Print for this request.
    GR: Set printer and style on concurrent program definition. Set profile option "Concurrent:Report Copies" to 1 (even by Forms Personalization if you want to). Sorted. Still think this is the best option.
    c) Abstraction. Replace the C executable with a shell script that takes arguments and calls the C program and then submits new "child" request via CONCSUB
    -- Appreciate, if you can elaborate this option. I think we can try this, with the help of your detailed input.
    GR: Change the executable on the concurrent program to a host shell script under your mods application. Initially just get the shell script to capture program call and arguments. Run the program to get arguments. Next iteration, change shell script to call the C program from your shell script with correct arguments. Verify okay. Next iteration do the same plus call CONCSUB to submit request / set.
    d) Nasty. Trigger on fnd_concurrent_requests to call new "child" request via fnd_request.submit_request - NB: very unsupported! Make sure trigger doesn't raise an exception.
    -- On completion of the Consolidation Transfer concurrent request, we tried to submit the request set using the Trigger on Consolidation History table and/or fnd_concurrent_requests table. But it is entering into infinite loop.
    GR: Need to use trigger condition to capture update of status_code to C (Completed) and other codes e.g. Warning. Personally I'd avoid this option because you have others! Although once I did use this method when I wanted absolute transparency :-)
    Update: Changed "Print: Copies" to "Concurrent:Report Copies"

    Gareth

    There are several notes on metalink for "RVTBM-007: Subroutine rvtbm_batch_mngr() returned error".
    Take a look at those.
    Also if you are using dual uoms, make sure that setup and conversion is setup correctly.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to increase the column width when viewing a spreadsheet created by a concurrent request

    I have created a BI Publisher template to display the output from scheduled discoverer reports. It contains sixty three columns and the heading for each one is a variable but, in order to fit these on the page, each column is about a half a centimeter wide.
    When I use the Preview Template option from the RTF file and select Excel the columns are automatically sized to accommodate the data (which is what is required). However, when I upload the template and run a concurrent request and view the output, each column is shown as half a centimetre in width so the user can see very little of the data without resizing all columns. We do not think that this will be acceptable to our users.
    We are using Excel 2010 in both cases.
    I have looked at this forum and tried a few things without success so any help will be gratefully received.

    for ebs 12.1.3 you can create excel template by bip desktop 11

  • Reprints output from concurrent requests

    Hi, I copied the above Concurrent Program to a custom one and added 'XML Report Publisher' in the list of incompatible programs, because my custom program (Custom Reprints output from concurrent requests) should run only after XML Report Publisher completes. But the custom program ends in 'Inactive' Phase and 'NO Manager' Status. We tried bouncing the CM, but no luck. Any help is highly appreciated.
    P.S: When I add XML Report Publisher to the list of incompatible programs for the seeded program - Reprints output from concurrent requests, everything works fine.
    Thanks, Naveen Gagadam.

    Hi Hussein, we are on: Oracle Applications : 11.5.10.2, Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi on LINUX.
    I am submitting my Custom Reprints output from concurrent requests, XML Report Publisher from FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST. I cannot print the XML report without adding it to the list of incompatible programs because even though I submit the Custom Reprints output from concurrent requests after XML Report Publisher, it starts off before the XML Report Publisher completes and eventually it ends up in a warning. Please see below 1/2 of the log file (Will post the Other half immediately) from $FND_TOP/log. The name of the file is five_0908.mgr, 'five' being the name of the instance
    Thanks, Naveen Gagadam.

  • Taking in many concurrent requests via a single servlet

    Hi,
    My objective for this topic is to find a way to make my tomcat app able to handle as many as possible concurrent requests.
    My app spec is
    -servlet running on Tomcat 5.0
    My app is a mobile text messaging app that receives requests via a single servlet, called InboundRequest. This servlet will,
    1. Read the HTTP params in the request
    2. Decide to which other servlet classes it should forward to (RequestDispatcher)
    3. The recipient servlet will read the HTTP param, process it and outputs the data via OutboundResponse java class.
    So, my issue is,
    1. What factor decides the number of concurrent requests my InboundRequest servlet can handle? Is it my code or Tomcat itself or the server hardware
    2. Since I'm using Request Dispatcher forwarding, if say i have a request that takes 5 seconds to complete the its task (to output the result via OutboundResponse), will in inhibits/stops any other requests that comes in during that 5 seconds?
    I appreciate all expertise i can get.
    Regards,
    Mel.

    There is nothing to worry about that concurrent request handling as container will create one instance of your servlet and then for each client request it will spwan a single thread which will handel the client request.If u r implementing SingleThreadModel then onle one thread will be spwan and it will handle the requests one by one .So it will be slower .
