Recipient determination characteristic not in control query RDRD 525

I am trying to create a Broadcast Setting in BEX Analyzer based on a workbook using Broadcast by E-Mail (bursting).  I want to use a control query to determine the recipients of the broadcast.  When I select the query that I want to use I get the following error:
Recipient determination: Characteristic 0VENDOR is not in control query X_Z7_ZPUR_M03_Q0002_PRESEL
The message number is RSRD 525.
The characteristic that I am using for recipient determination is 0VENDOR and it DOES exist in my query.  I can get the broadcast to work if I manually enter a list of vendors that I want to receive the broadcast but that is not practical.  The recipient determination is based on whether the vendor has open items which causes them to be in the output of the preselection query.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thank you for your help

Hi, everybody.
I already solved this problem. Thanks a lot.
For this I selected the controls in a exit variable that should be selected in from table time-dependent  from infoobject. This solution ran just for BWD and BWQ, because there was a lot of data in BWP.
Then I made a first query that has selected the controls. After that, in the original query I defined the substitution path relating with the first query.
Thanks again,
Elisabeth

    Hi VK_DBA,
According to your error message, about which query statement may fail with error message 8623, as other post, you can use trace flag 4102 & 4118 for overcoming this error. Another way is looking for queries with very long IN lists, a large number of
UNIONs, or a large number of nested sub-queries. These are the most common causes of this particular error message.
The error 8623 occurs when attempting to select records through a query with a large number of entries in the "IN" clause (> 10,000). For avoiding this error, I suggest that you could apply the latest Cumulative Updates media for SQL Server 2012 Service
Pack 1, then simplify the query. You may try divide and conquer approach to get part of the query working (as temp table) and then add extra joins / conditions. Or You could try to run the query using the hint option (force order), option (hash join), option
(merge join) with a plan guide.
For more information about error 8623, you can review the following article.

How to retrieve dynamic filter value submitted from control query to broadcast query.....
I'm trying to change the hierarchy version determined by a userexit variable in the broadcast query.
The Hierarchy Version should be dependent on the input filter delivered by the bursting query.
But how do I catch the dynamic filter value which has been submitted by the bursting query,
with other words:  where does the bursting query store it's out put while sequentially starting the broadcast query value by value?
BTW: the filter value from the bursting query appears under "dynamic filter values" in the information of the broadcast query...
    Any thoughts are welcome!

  • Control Query for broadcaster

    Hi al,
I need to send a report by mail in PDF format to a user which is a filtered report of a general report.
Meaning: I have a general report of sales (A) and I need to send by e-mail report A filtered by sales group and by current month (B).
In order to do this I have created a control query which filters the sales group and the month, and when broadcasting the report I choose the control query.
When I execute the broadcaster I get 2 PDF files: one is filtered as my request and the other is filtered only by the sales group but not by the month so I get a report with all months since the begining of the year.
The second report is unnecessary - How can I get rid of it?
    Thanks,
    Hagit

1st : no wanswer by now.
2nd : don't filter in the Broadcastsetting, filter in the Broadcastquery to avoid a broadcast for every filter value.

  • Navigational Attributes are not shown in query

    Dear all,
I have a problem in a query. I need to present values using by using Navigational attribute in the query, the thing is that it does not recognize my navigational attribute. I have checked the characteristic in the Multiprovider and Infocube as navigational. And in the Multiprovider I have identified the navigational attribute from the right source.
What I think is strange is that I can see the navigational attribute when I see the data in infocube but not in the query. Does anyone knows what I might be doing wrong?
    Best Regards and many thanks,
    Mazzz

    Hi
plese try to find out the data for this fields through LISTCUBE,if you gets data here for that navigation attr then it has to appear in your query designer also.
and also once again check your idetification for the navigation attr in multi provider  whether its taken from write souce or not.and plese chk through your cube also for the navigatin.
in cube navigational attr has to mark then in the same way in the multi provider also

    Hello,
Please run this control query on the portal and then save variant you require. If you want this variant to be available

  • Hierarchy node not available in Query Designer

    Hello Gurus,
I can find the hierarchy node variable in BW but it is not available in query designer. Does anyone know what might be the problem and a solution?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
You said you "find the hierarchy node variable in BW but it is not available in query designer".
How did you find the hierarchy node variable in BW? From backend SAPGUI, you will only be able to see the variable in some internal tables like RSZGLOBV. Did you mean this?
For "it is not available in query designer", do you means that when you want to create a hierarchy node variable for this characteristic in Query Designer, you don't find this certain hierarchy node variable in the hierarchy node variable list?
Important thing to notice is that, flat value variables and hierarchy node variables are listed separately. Did you make sure that you have chose to list hierarchy node variables in Query Designer?

    Hi,
Are there other char before this char in the repot.
Try to put only this char in the rows of the report and then see the result.
I dont think values like this can create any issue.

Suddenly getting this goofball message in DW5.5 on Win7:
"The Server Behavior panel cannot determine whether "Command" or "Recordset (Query)" is applied to your page. Please select Edit Server Behaviors and change one of the two behaviors to ensure that each is uniquely identifiable."
Crazy thing is, it only happens on my workstation.
DW5.5 on my laptop opens the same .asp pages without this crazy message popping up.
Anybody know what the issue is?

I'd suggest that no answer means no answer yet. The person who can help may not have been on the forum the day the post was made.
That said, I'm starting to suspect that the cause must be an extension. Both boxes have the same version of DW and the same OS but both don't have the exact same extensions installed. Will play around and see what happens.

    Hello Jan,
The PW (Permission Wizard) is found on the Tools Depot> Administration Tools> Permision Wizard. If you right click on it and select properties you will be able to see the version. If you do not have the latest vesion (v. 3.0.0.7) you should start by installing it.
    Go to:
    http://ciscounitytools.com/SiteList/AllDownloads/alldownloads.html
    Under Title search for:
    Permissions Wizard 5.0(1)+
Running the Permission Wizard is required with a Domain Admin account, usually the Unity Install account has this included, to verify, go to Start> Run> dsa.msc> Click on Find> Type Unity Install> Click on Member of tab.
Additionaly this utility does not involve any downtime to your environment. At the beginning of the Wizard confirm that the proper accounts are assigned to the services, i.e: Directory Services-> UnityDirSvc, for Message Store-> UnityMsgStore. When yo reach the point to select the Mail Stores make sure that all the proper or desired mailstores are included.
At the end if it fails for 1 item, and it is permissions to delete objects this can be expected.
To fully understand this tool and see screen shots of running the tool go to:
    http://ciscounitytools.com/Applications/Unity/PermissionsWizard/Unity50/Help/PWHelp_ENU.htm
The MSCW (Message Store Configuration Wizard) is a tool used to partner and synchronize with your Exchange server and is found in Start>Control Panel> Programs> Add Remove Programs> Doble click on Message Store Configuration Wizard. Running this tool is service impacting, meaning it requires to stop Unity services.
At the end of the Wizard you are prompted for a last account, which is the Directory Service account, make sure you are using the proper one, i can't stress this enough.
It would also be good to ensure that your Unity System is able to communicate accordingly to your Domain Controllers and Global Catalog. You can check this by going to Tools Depot> Administration> DCGC Reconnect> Click on the DC tab hit Force Reconnect do the same in the GC tab (this is again NOT service impacting). After you do that go to Event viewer (eventvwr.msc)
One event will be seen with the Domain Controller:
The Cisco Unity service that monitors Active Directory (AvDSAD) completed a full
    synchronization cycle with
Another will be seen with the Global Catalog:
...event global catalog (AvDSGlobalCatalog) completed a full synchronization cycle with ...
If you do not see a complete synchronization there might be issues in your network or to the DC GC's Unity is talking to and therefore not able to retrieve the proper information of the users.
If you run DBWalker does it give you any further insight?
It would be usefull if you could clarify whether this issue is
-for all users: mayor changes on either Unity or Exchange
-a set of users:random or specific to a mailstore
-single user: are there any differences in Exchange between the working users and the non-working one; is it disabled on AD?

  • "Drilldown characteristic" not permitted for display hierarchy

    Hi Experts,
I want to display the hierarchy in my BEx Analyzer for which i tried to activate the hierarchy for the same and got the below error.
"Default values "Drilldown characteristic" not permitted for display hierarchy"
Also I have used a standard variable for this infoobject and it is used for user input in the selection screen of the report.
Eventhough we proceed further with this message, in the Report display, it is not showing the hierarchy in the display.
    Please respond ASAP.

    Hi,
I don't know why you are getting this error. But we can create hierarchy either by using herarchy name or else by creating hierarchy variable......In characteristics for which you are creating hierarchy, in display tab of properties give DISPLAY AS KEY, SORT CHARACTERISTICS -- AS IN THE QUERY  and RESULT ROWS --- ALWAYS SUPPRESS....
In HIERARCHY TAB --- Give Hierarchy name select use hierarchy setting check boxand select always show radio buttons......
Do in this way and it may work......

  • Precalculation & Control Query

    Dear experts,
in Report Agent (RSA1old) I have a precalculation for Web Template Containing Query A -  using Control Query C for the precalculation (Precalculation settings are data and web template).
Control Query is based on an InfoObject, which is also InfoProvider and just shows the hierarchie of the Business Units in the rows.
Query  A uses the Business Unit in the free characteristics - users of the Web Template have to select on the business units (out of a hierarchy, but nodes may also be selected).
The precalculation job finishes fine - but on executing the web template I have the feeling, that for some selections on the business unit numbers appear really fast (from precalculation) and for other selections on the business unit selection takes ages (and is probably calculated on execution and not from precalculation!!!)
How can I find you if report is using the precalculated values?
Do you have any advice - it is really appreciated!
    Kind regards,
