Recognizing Drivers

I am trying to learn how to use SignalExpress 2.5.1 and one of the problems I have encountered is communication with the test equipment.  Following the various webcast videos the one key thing that is missing is where/how to install the proper instrument driver or to be more exact how to get SignalExpress to recognize it.  I have installed the drivers using LabVIEW’s Find Instrument Drivers and Install.  LabVIEW itself will see my test equipment and allow me to control it using the driver’s examples.
Now I just need SignalExpress to give me the right chose of driver when I create a new IVI session.  I chose the proper Resource Descriptor “GPIB0::7::INST” but all I get is the NIDMM or the NiScope driver choices for the DMM and oscilloscope respectively.
Can someone point me to the proper webcast or can help with my situation.  Thanks.
JoeD

I have figured out how to find the drivers for SignalExpress (SE) on the web and I have downloaded and installed them with no problems.  Now SE shows the drivers for my equipment the new problem is a question of driver and hardware compatibility.
The first problem is with our oscilloscope, a Agilent 54622D.  The driver I downloaded and installed in NI’s ag5462x (Ver 2.210.18).  When I try to communicate with the oscilloscope I get the following error:
ivi_IviScope Configure Acquisition Record.vi<ERR>
Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFA0010) Invalid value for parameter or property.
Primary Error: (Hex 0xBFFA0010) Invalid value for parameter or property.
Secondary Error: (Hex 0xBFFC0002) Parameter 2 out of range, or error occurred while setting Parameter 2.
Elaboration: Time Per Record
The oscilloscope’s screen keeps flashing a QUERY Undetermined.
The second error is with the function generator, a Hewlett Packard 33120A.  The driver I downloaded and installed in NI’s hp33120a (Ver 5.0.11).  When I try to communicate with the oscilloscope I get the following error:
ivi_IviFgen Initialize With Options.vi<ERR>
Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFA0001) Primary Error: (Hex 0xBFFA0001) Instrument error detected.  Call the PREFIX_error_query function and examine the error  code and error message parameters for additional information regarding the error.
I can see and use the equipment with LabVIEW with no problems and SE also sees my Agilent power supply E3631A and Agilent DMM 34401A with no problems.  So once the issues with the oscilloscope and function generator are settled all will be happy.

  • T60 system not recognizing drivers.

I have a T60 laptop, model 2613-HKU. Recently I just reinstalled Windows XP. After the OS installation, I installed every drivers listed on Lenovo's website:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-62928.html
Still, under "Device Manager", I saw a list of uninstalled devices:
    -Biometric Coprocessor
    -Ethernet Controller
    -Network Controller
    -PCI Device
    -SM BUS Controller
    -Unknown Device
    -Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
So I think in this case my issue would be likely to caused by the system not recognizing the drivers? Any help or suggestion would be really appreciated. I have posted a similar post before since I thought I only have an issue with the wireless system, so I apologize if anyone consider this somewhat a duplicate post.

Just checkin: Lenovo driver installs have two steps: 1. Extract 2. Install. Did you do step 2?
When you run the downloaded file it extracts, usually to a directory under C:/DRIVERS, then you go to that directory, and run the installer (usually setup.exe, but not always - check the installation instructions).
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

  • USB Ports on 3 month old Satellite C655-S5049 do not work-even after Recovery to "Out-of-Box" state

Hello - Hoping someone can help with another suggestion- it doesn't look good.
Both USB ports on my wife's 3 month old Satellite C655-S5049 are non-functional with any USB device. Flash drives, wireless mouse, and external hard drive (powered) that all work on all of my other computers, do not work in either of this laptop's USB ports.
This problem seems to have developed gradually, and became noticeable previously as non-responsiveness in the wireless mouse, which gradually became a concern, with the computer appearing to freeze or lock-up - probably because of the number of times the mouse was clicked on shortcuts and executables before something happened.
The ports are now completely "dead"- no recognition of anything inserted once the computer is up and running.
There appears to be a thermal component involved, since I was able to get the devices recognized and working for up to a minute when booting the computer with the devices in the ports after it had been off for several hours after I did the default state recovery. The flash drive and mouse were recognized, drivers loaded message, but they then went to "unplugged" before I could get the cursor moving. I was able to access the flash drive, since I did it as soon as the driver loaded, but then it disappeared ("un-plugged" itself in the driver loaded message box). I can also get them recognized from this COLD boot state when I immediately plug them in once Windows 7 (64) loads, but they quickly disappear. If I wait a few minutes before re-booting, they flash during the Windows boot, but drop-out before it completes. If I wait 3-4 hours to re-boot, they flash (are recognized) for about a minute (Windows completely loads), but then they drop out.
I tried all of the suggestions on this board (and others) before doing a Recovery to Factory Default state. I have tried it with the original version 1.20 Bios, and with the version 1.50 Bios update. All driver updates have been downloaded and installed. The laptop does occasionally lock-up at the Toshiba screen during boot, and is verrrry slow in some operations (2 hours to do the recovery discs). The only other noticeable problem (at this time) is an occasional drop-out of wireless (Atheros AR9285) connectivity, which I have been blaming on the router since it is sporadic and infrequent (not consistent with the thermal argument). These problems are all after the Factory Default State recovery operation, so my assumption is that they are hardware based.
Any suggestions for a solution? This is a standard spec Satellite C655-S5049 that I was considering adding another 2GB memory to, but now I am unsure of its' future. A laptop cooler that runs from a USB port seems counter-productive.
I am technically capable, so you can be much briefer in your response than I have been in trying to fully detail the problems. This isn't the NVidia chip, but it does bring back memories of laptops past.
    Thanks for any help,
    G

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MODEL. I GOT THE SERVICE
MANUAL AND I'M THINKING TO OPEN IT AND SEE IF THERE'S SOME PHYSICAL BAD CONNECTION
INSIDE. BUT LIKE YOU SAID.  IT'S ONLY THREE MONTHS OLD.!!! I DON'T WANT TO RUIN THE WARRANTEE.
BUT THIS IS VERY FRUSTATING. I WANDER IF TOSHIBA DOES THIS ON PURPUSE.!!! KEEP IN TOUCH AND
IF YOU NEED THE SERVICE MANUAL CONTACT ME AT [email protected]

  • No sound on my Sony Bluetooth Headset because Windows 7 can't find Bluetooth peripheral device driver

SO, I am dealing this problem for the second day in a row and no working solution still. I own the latest iMac 2014 (though the model is exactly as 2013) 2,7 Ghz with Bluetooth 4.0, I've installed through Bootcamp Windows 7 x64. My bluetooth headset Sony DR-BTN200 http://store.sony.com/bluetooth-headphones-zid27-DRBTN200//cat-27-catid-All-Home -Theater-Headphones (which is on Bluetooth 3.0 and of 2013 year model) is working fine with Mavericks and Yosemite on my MBP, but not working as it should on iMac with Windows 7..
THE PROBLEM: I find the headset, connect it, but afterwards Windows writes that no drivers for Bluetooth peripheral device were found (3 or 4 encriptions like this, so, 3-4 drivers needed). The headset itself guarrantees fine working with Windows 8, the producer doesn't give any drivers to install, you won't find them on Sony's website - it should work as plug-n-play, they say those drivers are preinstalled on Windows 8.
WHAT I'VE TRIED: So, the problem, as I've read from many-many-many sources is common for everybody running Windows on Mac devices. In cases with notebooks it is easy to solve (if you know it) - download the Bluetooth software from Broadcom (the producer of Bluetooth adapters/receivers of  Macs) http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php - install, it finds the devices and istalls correct driver. This worked with my MacBook Pro 2010, on iMac it stucks on recognizing devices - nothing happens next, like it doesn't recognize any bluetooth device. Downloading many other drivers packages didn't help either, nor Toshiba Bluetooth helpers could detect Bluetooth headset to properly download the correct drivers (though it was already recognized by Windows, just couldn't connect properly), nor different other programs like Bluesoleil, Blue manager and so on.
On other notebooks and computers many try to install manually the drivers, usualy Microsoft Windows mobile-based device support. I've tried to install many drivers, all of the Broadcom drivers I've found (including the Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 USB driver that makes the headset work on MBP), and I must say that Windows recognizes (doesnt show the yellow triangle next to the icon of the driver) only for the Microsoft Windows mobile-based device support driver. Though it's like that, the sound still is not playing out of my headset. On MBP after the drivers were installed, I chose the device in Printers and devices and there was an option of Control (maybe I remember the name wrong), it went first in the right-click menu, and aftewards there was a page were I could connect my headset through ticks/checks on different options. Nothing like this appears if I install any of the drivers on iMac (nor Broadcom, nor Win mobile-based). I must also mention, that some kind of package that I've downloaded from Toshiba or Acer's Broadcom Bluetooth kit, I don't remember, installed some bluetooth drivers (Bluetooth Audio, "receiver" if I recall it correctly and 2 more), that were recognized as right drivers for peripheral device when I connected my headset, but even then - no sound came out of the headset.
HELP ME: What shoud I do? I've tried all of the methods that are on the net. Sony store won't help me out, because the problem is not in the device - it's in the software/hardware of "your iMac". The headset works with Mac OS, should work fine with fully-Windows PCs, it just doesn't with iMacs on Bootcamp Windows. The interesting thing is that updating windows to Windows 8 might also not help, since Sony guarrantees only work on pre-shipped with Win 8 devices, not with the upgraded devices. I do think the problem is with drivers, that Mac's Bootcamp utility doesn't come with pre-installed Bluetooth drivers for connecting Bluetooth headsets, only for the Apple mouse and keyboard. I must also mention that I've tried to install manually many of the Broadcom drivers, all of which were for Bluetooth 3.0 or 4.0, they didn't help.
It's awfull that I've got the latest iMac, so the latest hardware and face such problems. I only think that a cheap 5-7$ bluetooth-usb adapter could help, maybe it could recognize the headset and therefor install its own drivers for its manufacturer. But I don't imagine how would it work and connect since iMac has a peinstalled Bluetooth receiver. Is there a software sollution? An app or driver?

So, finally I found what worked for me: Re: Full Bluetooth functionality in Bootcamp (audio, A2DP, FTP, OBEX) third variant, none of first 2 worked.. The only trouble was to find the correct link since on Acer site there is no download link. I've googled for "Bluetooth_Atheros_7.4.0.96_W7x64_A.zip" since this is the archive the guy is actually talking about. The 4th link on google was http://www.laptop-software.com/Acerdriversdownload.php?GDFiles/Driver/Bluetooth/ Bluetooth_Atheros_7.4.0.96_W7x64_A.zip?acerid=634556349384706773&Step1=Notebook& Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%204830Z&OS=721&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_6 and I chose to downlad from the first download link. Then the steps are:
    1) unzip the folder
    2) don't look for x64 or x32, there is only a one installer called "Bluetooth_Suite_win7"
    3) install Bluetooth_Suite_win7
    4) after it installs Windows starts downloading and recognizing drivers, I don't know how it actually works, but it also downloaded and recognized the unrecognized before drivers for my Bluetooth headset.
    5) Restart Windows
    6) Turn on headphones - they connect automatically, everything works and works great, the quality of sound is exactly the same as it was on Mac OS, nothing that would bother me.
****, it took me 2 full days... finally...

  • Windows 7 install on Mac

    Hi,
So I recently installed Windows 7 on my Mac without using bootcamp. I cleaned my HDD and installed freshly.
Unfortunately for me, the NetworkController and EthernetController are not recognized drivers. I have talked to multiple people with good computer knowledge (Custom Builds, Motherboard information. Driver Installations. etc) and none of which could find a solution to my problem. I looked around the apple support forums and a mass majority of the help for Windows 7 errors refers back to updating bootcamp. I did not install windows via bootcamp, my previous operating system was Ubuntu 12.10, and the networking mumbo jumbo worked perfectly fine.
I'm curios to know if anyone knows of any supported network drivers for my specs?
I'll attach a text document generated by cpu-z with all my computer information in it. Please note my previous operating system was not OS X, it was Ubuntu 12.10.

re-post in the Boot Camp forum where all the users that are very familiar with that software are.  Good luck.  https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

  • IPhone 5 restore Error (1)

    To Whom It May Conern,
I recieved an iPhone from a friend recently (iPhone 5) with a shattered screen. It does not work anymore, and the home button is damaged beyond use as well.
The phone is still recognized by iTunes and the PC's I've use it with however.
I also disessembled it to confirm water damage or not. All stickers white, no water damage.
I was told by the person whom gave it to me, I would need to replace the screen but could still restore it and get it ready as it was currently.
I first hooked it up to a Windows 8 pc, and after some driver/software updating, the phone was  recognized/drivers installed/etc., and iTunes had it as able to view Music, Photos, Apps, etc.
I went to factory restore it, updated iTunes/Windows, and now it is getting an error message (1) every time I do this.
I have attempted this a total of about 20 times now, on multiple computers, as well as a Mac. The last attempt was on a Mac, and I saved the error details, as written here:

    Hello everyone,
After dealing with this issue for a few days I was able to fix my issue.
The errors that I was getting were 1 and -1 on an iPhone4 upgrading to IOS 7
I read and tried every fix under the sun it seemed.
The fix for me was the DNS cache (even though I tried it on a different computer)
    Here is the whole story...
I had a working iPhone4 on iOS6 when I started trying to upgrade to the latest version.
I plugged it in to iTunes and hit restore, after an extremely long DL (slow on my end) it failed.
I decided at that time that I would actually start trying and I unplugged all my other USB and used a real apply usb cable as opposed to my long one.
I also updated iTunes to the latest version and hit the restore button in iTunes again.
After another extemely long DL (because turns out my old verison of iTunes downloaded 6.1.3) I tried again.
Error 1 or -1 depending on which time I tried.
I then checked my hosts file and it was good so I tried disconnecting the battery and hitting the power buton a bunch to drain the power and it still failed with error 1.
After maunally downloading the firmware from ipsw downloader i tried again but no results so I downloaded the alternate version of the software for GSM phones which was the incorrect version so didn't even start before it failed.
Frustrated at this point so I get a netbook and throw a fresh copy of windows 7 onto it.
Update all the drivers and various runtimes then installed latest verison of iTunes.
checked the hosts just to be stupid sure it would work and it was good.
    Error 1
So at this point I have waisted two days and I have alreadly replaced the clients phone as "I (meaning apple)" broke it.
So back on my main PC I start from square one and realise that I never actually cleared my DNS cache as it says in many instructions.
So I try that and 10 minutes later I got a brand new phone.
TLDR: Clear your DNS cache in Windows and Mac
Steps I used to fix it
    Apple brand charger
    back/motherboard usb port
    hosts file empty
    dns cache cleared
    dfu mode
Shift click restore button for custom ipsw file / latest version
To clear DNS cache in Windows hit the windows key or button in the bottom right (windows 7) and type CMD
Right click and run cmd as administrator
    type
    ipconfig /flushdns
I fixed mine after giving up so don't give up and don't feed the "unplug it" and "hit buttons at a certain point trolls".
    Good Luck.

  • Trying to get old printer (not on list) running on new computer

New computer = Satellite L755-S5349, running on Windows 7, 64-bit.
Printer = HP Color LaseJet 3600n (which doesn't appear on the computer's list of recognized drivers).
HP Download web-site says their Vista version driver for the 3600 should work on this computer.
    I have downloaded that driver.
    When I plug in the USB connector, the computer seems to recognize the printer's existence, but puts it into the category of "Other Devices", not "Printers and Faxes";
and, when I try to print a document, the computer seems to be trying to send it to a Fax (I don't have a Fax).
In any case, it doesn't print and the document doesn't show up in the printing-monitor area.
I'm thinking I may have done something wrong in designation which "port" I wanted it to go through; I don't recall seeing USB as an optio. As noted, I'm connecting the computer to printer via a USB cable - which has worked fine with 2 previous computers.
As you may tell, I'm a real Newbie at this - pretty non-technical - so: 1) if it's something really "obvious" (to you), please don't flame me too bad; and 2), if you've got a solution, be prepared to walk me through everything in baby steps, with as little jargon as possible (assume no pre-knowledge about the innards/workings of a computer).
    Thanks

Reading through this thread may help:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Software/Windows-7-and-HP-Color-LaserJet-3600N/td-p/...
    This bit in particular:
The file I downloaded from HP is called "HP Color Laserjet 3600 host based driver" version 61.082.61.41 dated 26 November 2008. It's 14.2 MB in size. Unzip it to the folder of your choice (e.g., C:\HP CLJ3600 Driver) then add the printer through Win 7's Devices and Printers. Point Windows to that folder (instead of a CD) and it should do the job.
HP's printer group seems fond of stranding it's users, I've had to struggle to get a few older LaserJets to work in a few different installations. :-(

  • LV820 VarMgr Error 7 on close (no RT info)

Looking for suggestions regarding trouble with LV820 Variable Manager (VM) while viewing PXI RT system hosting single deployed Network Shared Variables (NSV) library.
Standard LV 'Error 7 occurred at New File' (file not found) dialog appears when close VM. Might this be a file access/protection issue? Does VM use separate ports that the psp protocol does not? Is this an actual file error (appears so) or just error 7 from variable server passed out?
No trouble accessing the variables in LV host/RT dev code or executable but cannot view the deployed lvlib on RT system. Can view in VM same library 'copied' then deployed to localhost. Use of Select Variable ... context menu item on Shared Variable node works and shows lvlib contents properly.
source: WinXP/SP2 on PXI-8105 in PXI-1052 chassis, 'Symantec Endpoint Protection' AV/firewall in use.
target: PharLap on PXI-8105 in PXI-1052 chassis
RT software: LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2, Network Variable Engine 1.2.0, Variable Client Support 1.2.0

After some exploring, I found TagMonitor.exe in 'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\TagMonitor' which appears to be an early rendition of DSM and shows my deployed RT libraries properly. As such, the urgency to get VarMan working is diminished but I would still like to see it working again, so ...
    Answers:
    - First observed this past Monday during software troubleshooting in LV.
    - VarMan displayed SVs on RT previously without issue.
    - No NI software changes. This is an existing test console with several years use.
In MAX 4.5, clicked 'Tools::Install legacy support ...' to view dialog that would appear but only got message dialog with: 'Support files are up-to-date for all recognized drivers on the syste, No updates are required.'
Other software: not sure as system is connected to inhouse network so some pushes do occur but system remains at XP/SP2. There was some kind of Outlook 2003 patch I saw from this past weekend.
    - Software upgrade to newer version: unlikely since existing EXE software on stand still currerntly used and budgets are thin for upgrades and anyway, software updates may require hardware updates; not a good plan.
    - Show stopper: none, as I previously mentioned software still works it just that VarMan is a useful debugging tool. My work-around is a simple polling/monitor app for the SVs of my particuar project but my concern is that this issue a symtom of some underlying communication error that may bite me later.
    - Occurrence frequency: happens every time now.
    Questions:
    - NI software in Windows Add/Remove utility has Repair option but no line item for VarMan. Was this a base LabVIEW component or did it come with the RT module? Would 'Repairing' the LV 8.2 RT Module have any effect?
    - Above 'Repair' options does not exist for Real-Time Sofware Wizard in MAX. Would Uninstall/Reinstall the 'Network Variable Engine' and/or 'Variable Client Support' items help?
    - I asked before about specific TCP/UDP ports used by VarMan (psp protocol, etc.) that may be being blocked...no response.
    - In VarMan, tried to manually add RT Target but nothing happened. Is there a way to verify of VarMan is connecting with RT system?
    Additional:
    - Am including screenshot of error and list of installed NI software on host & target.
    - Since TagMonitor reliably communicates with RT, it appears this error is solely associated with VarMan.
Thanks for your help with this issue, Patrick.

  • Unable to Cancel/Download/Deploy March 2013 PRU

Howdy! I'm new to the community and to ZENworks. Please be gentle.
I inherited a ZCM 11.1a server. It is working fine, but we just acquired new Desktops (HP Elite 8300) and I can't image them through the PXE. Reading some, I figured out that I need to update the drivers. That is when I found out that the server was last updated in December 2011. YIKES! I checked for updates, and I saw the "March 2013 PRU" available. Reading the notes, I found the network card in the list of recognized drivers, so the decision was made to download and install the update.
The file was "stuck" downloading for 4 hours! I decided to cancel the download... 16 hours later, is still "cancelling".
I don't have the "Deploy PRU Now", as its status is "Cancelling".
I can't delete the file because is "Unable to delete Mar 2013 PRU. This update is in the process of being canceled. Please wait until the update cancels and then delete the update."
I can't download the file again. "Mar 2013 PRU - This update has already been downloaded and is ready to be deployed."
The screen looks something similar to (found this pic on another thread)
    http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps13aad101.jpg
Obviously something went wrong. How can I download and install the file? Help... please?

    Eomolina,
the imaging forum for ZCM 11 is http://forums.novell.com/novell-prod...zcm11-imaging/
but I will tell you that if you need to get new drivers added by Novell, you'll be advised to open a Service Request. As for the monthly imaging updates, we do then for 11.0, 11.1 and the latest version of 11.2.x, and they are generally released monthly (though there hasn't been one for a couple of months).

  • Smartwatch 2 Brik after update with Update Service

After a software update from the PC with the software  UPDATE SERVICE, the device is turned off and never turned back on.
I have tried several times to re install the software but despite the device is recognized (drivers work) returns "ERROR INSTALLATION".
The device is well charged and pressing the (unique) beyond the 15 seconds nothing happens.
It is totally blocked off ... dead

Have you tried a different Pc and also USB cable just so you can rule out hardware faults not related to your watch - If the same thing continues then I'd advise you to seek further help from an authorised Sony repair centre

  • No Sound Bluetooth Stereo Headset  - MB Pro running Win XP SP3 via Bootcamp

I have a MacBook Pro Running Windows XP SP3 via Boot camp and I recently purchased a Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headset. I am able to Pair the Headset to the MacBook Pro but I am unable to hear anything playing through them. I have checked to make sure that the volume is turned up. I think the problem might be driver related but, according to the Rocketfish support there isn't a specific driver for the headset. I'm not sure how to get the headset working. One other thing to note is that the headset works perfectly with my Iphone 4.
    I guess my questions are...
How do I find an updated driver for the built in bluetooth on the MacBook Pro?
Does anyone know how to fix the problem that I am having?

****, it took me 2 full days... finally...
