Reconciliation Account question

Friends,
I know that we can have multiple reconciliation accounts(for AR and AP) or we can have one per each subledgers. But my question is,  what typically happens in a real project? do you have to create multiple accounts or just one Reconciliation account per subledger is fine?
Thanks.

Zack,

You have to create reconciliation account at least one for each account type.
You have to create number of sub ledgers for one reconciliation account based on the requirement.

  • One question about " reconciliation account in company code "

In t-code AO90,I select chart of account->account determ->balance sheet accounts, and input G/L Acct 4101 in the field of "Acquisition :Acquis. and production costs".But the sap give an error "Account 4101 not yet defined as reconciliation account in company code ".And I use the t-code FS00 to maintain the Account 4101 but can not find the field about "reconciliation".So need some reference or advice. Thanks so much.

    hi melody,
FS00 > Control data > open item management (must be checked for recon accounts)
but if you have already posted with this account is not possible to make it as recon account, if is the case, you must delete it and create a new account (open item management checked) and report the postings from the first to new account.
    hope this helps

  • Change Customer Reconciliation Account

I need some assistance in verifying the steps for changing Recon account for a group of customers.
Scenario.  We have a group of customers (about 60) who have postings to them.  Some of the posting are open and some are cleared.  We need to change the reconciliation account on these customers.  We are running under ECC 6.0
I know how to change the reconciliation account on the customer.  That is not a problem.  The problem comes with handling the open and cleared items already posted to these customers.
I believe that at some point in time I need to run trans F101.  In order to run this transaction I need to define an adjustment account using transaction OBBW.  One of my questions here is do I define this as an adjustment account for both the old and the new reconciliation account or for just the old reconciliation account.
Now most of my questions relate to:
    1.     What are the steps required in order to run F101(FAGLF101 for 6.0)?
    2.     Is there something that I will need to do each month or will this be a one time situation only for me?
    3.     Will/are there any special steps required for clearing the open items once the reconciliation accounts have been changed?
    4.     Is there anything else (any gotcha’s) that I should be aware of?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Greg Brown
    FI/CO Consultant

the thread you sent me answers part of my questions (namely the fact that I need multiple recon adjustment accounts and the basic steps for executing F101 (FAGLF101).
However, with regards to my other questions, here is what I am interpreting from the thread.
      1.  Is there something that I will need to do each month or will this be a one time situation only for me?
<b>Assumed answer:</b>  I will need to run this every month until the balance of the old recon account for the customers in question is zero.
      2. Will/are there any special steps required for clearing the open items once the reconciliation accounts have been changed?
<b>Assumed answer:</b>  Apparently not.  I will clear the old items (posted but not cleared at the time I changed the recon account) from the old recon account; clear new items (posted and cleared after I change the recon account) for the customer for the new recon account.
    Am I correct on this?
Any additional help that you can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

  • Post Directly To Customer Reconciliation Account

    Dear Experts,
We are facing the following problem in one of our Clients system.
They have uploaded the opening balance in a Customer Reconciliation GL Account ( Its an alternate reconciliation account ), here onwards reffered to as XYZ.
Now after 6 months of Go-Live they realized that the opening balance was uploaded incorrectly.
Their original entry was like this:
    Dr. XYZ                      100
    Cr. Data Migration GL 100
When the try to reverse the above entry they get the following error: "Account XYZ in company code ABCD cannot be directly posted to" Message No: F5354
Now i have two questions ( Disclaimer: These questions might sound very silly, but trust me I am seriously lost here. )
    1. How was this entry posted in the first place? I have checked the change logs for GL XYZ, no data exists that shows that the reconciliation indicator has been changed. The reconciliation Indicator is customer from beginning.
    2. How to reverse the above entry?
Any usefull suggestions will be generously rewarded.
    Regards,
    Priyank.

    Dear All,
I am sorry for replying so late to this Thread.
We found the root cause of the problem. Some one has changed the Table Entries (SKB1-MITKZ) for  the GL Master of Customer Reconciliation Account. This was the reason that the GL account was showing as Customer Reconciliation Account.
Now when we tried to reverse these changes the system didnt allow us as it needed some entry in that field and keeoing it blank was not an option. Even the input help didnt show any blank field.
So in order to overcome the above shortcoming, we wrote an ABAP program to change the field value to Blank.
So learning is that you should never use Table Edit without having proper knowledge of how Tables behave.
    Thanks all for your Support.
    Am Closing the thred.
    Good Bye.

  • How to find change in customer reconciliation account

    Hi Experts
We have an issue where total customer balance is not tallying with the balance as per Reconciliation account. We feel this could be because reconciliation account of a customer would have been changed.
Can you please let me know
    a) If there is a way to find list of customers whose reconciliation account is changed
    b) Any other reason that could cause difference between total of reconciliation account and total of customer balances.
    Thanks,
    Santosh

    Hi Santosh,
You can view the changes if you go to the master data of the GL account in question in FS03. TThen choose the tab "information Company code" (it is the last one.. type, control data etc...click in the little icon to drop down on the right.). Then choose 'Change documents' and this will display all the changes made to such account (you can swittech to 'all changes' and 'Technical names').
The differences can be caused for many different reasons- in fact there are some reports that can do some analysis for you: 1- If new GL is not active try report SAPF190 ( F.03) . 2- If New GL is active try report TFC_COMPARE_VZ in se38. If differences are reported you can send the spool to SAP for further analysis - they have a team of experts who can analyse this issue.
Unfortunately explaining all possible reasons and how to correct them would take ...  days.
    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards

  • How to change customer reconciliation account in ECC6.0 without new GL fun?

    Hi,
We have to default profit center for one customer without disturbing setup for other customer.
Hence we have decided to change reconciliation account of that customer and will assign to acount with default profit center in 3KEI.
Now my question is how to change recon ac of customer having too many line items for that customer.
Please an I get help on this?
Please can you provide steps to hange recon ac by transferring balance to other account?
How we can deal with open/clear line items of that customer.
    Thanks

    Hi
A rather simple way will be to set up a simple substitution rule for that particular customer in GGB1. You can write a simple substitution rule as under
    Prerequisite:
    BKPF-BUKRS=1000 and BSEG-KUNNR=1001112
    Substitution
    BSEG-PRCTR =101332
You should activate this rule for entire Document

  • Change Reconciliation Account

    Hello,
The user ask me to change Reconciliation accounts for some vendors and customers.
    I've done the following steps:
1/ Set the u201CReconciliation Accountu201D field in the vendor master as optional field (customizing)
2/ Define Adjustment Accounts for Changed Reconciliation Accounts (customizing)
3/ Run Balance Sheet Adjustment Program - F101(FAGLF101 in ECC6)
But, there is no posting, and nothing happened.
    My questions :
          - What FAGLF101 is supposed to do exactly ?
          - The vendor/customers can have open items before executing FAGLF101 ?
    Thanks you

    Hi Tarek
I hope you have actually changed your Recon. account
You can change the reconciliation Account in the Vendor or customer Master provided the field Status in your configuration allows changing the Reconciliation Account. Also, it is ideal that you change the reconciliation Account when the balance on the Reconciliation Account is Zero.
To clear the reconciliation Account one option is that you create a new open item managed GL Account and use Transaction FB05 to clear each open item in the vendor Account one at a Time and post on the new open item clearing Account. Then change the reconciliation Account in the master data and then again use FB05 to post the transactions back on the vendor Account one at a time.
Refer - Change the Reconciliation account

  • Vendor Payable Reconciliation Account at Profit Center Level

This is a general question about how people are tracking vendor payable reconciliation accounts at a profit center level.  We are running into scenarios where we cannot track the vendor payables at the profit center level because cross company postings are causing the document splitting to enter profit centers from different legal entities at the vendor payable GL account level.  Have other people ran into this problem?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi
Your issue is not very clear. The Document Type is defined at Header and one accounting document can contain multiple profit centers

  • Change master data setting - Vendor reconciliation account

Is it possible to change the configuration of a G/L account currently setup as a vendor reconciliation account (that has a balance) to a regular a balance sheet sheet account?
If yes, what actions do I need to do?
Are there any risks in doing this?
Can I perform a similiar change for a G/L account currently setup as a regular balance sheet account that I instead want to use as a vendor reconciliation account?
    Thank you in advance!
    Best regards Susan

    Hello,
    Answers to your questions:
    Question:
It is possible to change a reconciliation account into a balance sheet account but the current items in the reconciliation account should be manually moved to another account
    Answer:
If there is a single line item posted(whether the balance is zero or not), it WILL NOT allow you change the reconciliation account in the GL master record.
    Question:
-New postings will however be posted to the new reconciliation account set up in the vendor master
    Answer:
If you want to update a new reconciliation in vendor master, then create a fresh GL Account as reconciliation type for Vendor and update the vendor master with new GL Reconciliation Account. When you have done the new postings, new entries will flow to new Reconciliation Account, but the old entries will remain be there in the old reconciliation GL Account. To move the old reconciliation entries to new reconciliation entries executed F.5D (Balance Sheet Adjustment). Please read the documentation available on transaction code F.5D
    Question:
-What inconsistency in data are you referring to below? - No Inconsistency
-What reports would these differences appear in? - No differences
-Is there any risk of making a balance sheet account into a vendor reconciliation account (when baalnces exist)? - Vendor Reconciliation Account is a Balance Sheet Account only. This is a liability account in your Trail Balance.
    Hope this clarifies your doubts.

  • Changing the Reconciliation Account to Regular (Non Reconciliation) GL

    Hi there,
    We are on SAP ECC6.0.
We need to change the Master Record of a Reconciliation Account by making it a Regular (that is NON Reconciliation) Account.
The system is allowing us in doing this in certain cases and in some we are given the Error as:
Modifications to reconciliation account not permitted
    Error Message # FH110
We have already zero out the balance outstanding in all Vendors linked to this GL Account.
    Thanks
    Bob

    Hello,
It is not the question of making the balance to zero. Though you might have brought the balance to ZERO, but still they are showing as open items only in your system. Until and unless they are cleared, you cannot change.
After posting number of entries in the system, now try to change the reconciliation account to non-reconciliation account will have its own disadvantages and may affect adversely on your reporting. It suggested not to make any further changes. Make a new reconciliation and assigned the same to new customers or vendors or change the reconciliation account in the customer or vendor masters.
    Try to run F.5D
Please recheck your configuration in OBBW.

    Ravi

  • Vendor Reconciliation Account change issue

    Hi,
I need to change the vendor reconciliation account.
for that i created another reconcliation account and assigned in master records.
After that i created adjustment account.
After that i assigned this adjustment account for old and new reconcliation accounts.
When i ran the FAGLF101, job successfully ended.
But no amount was transferred from old recon account to new recon account.
Please guide me on above issue.
    Sateesh

    Kedar,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I done the changes said by you and got the entries in new adj. and old. adjust accounts.
Here i have a few questions.
    1) While doing balance sheet preparation shall i have to use the old recon. along with new recon. account?
    2) What is the actual use of adjustment account
    3) We are using ECC 6.0, after running of FAGLF101, does we need to run any transaction for balance sheet updates.
    Thanks in advance

  • Define Alternative Reconciliation Accounts

    Dear All,
What is the use of ID field, when we are assigning GL account with Alternative GL account.
IMG Path: SPRO --> Financial Accounting (New) --> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable --> Business Transactions --> Postings with Alternative Reconciliation Account --> Define Alternative Reconciliation Accounts.
i repeat my question what is the use of ID field

    Hi Ranjit:
First of all, this setting requires GL account (reconciliation account) should be ready for input. You can check that in the GL master (and if that is suppress, you can open that field in the account group definition).
Then, when you maintain the ID in the alternate reconciliation account, it is a short cut key to use for the alternate account during document entry. So at the time of document entry, instead of entering the alternate reconcilation account, you can enter this ID and system would bring the account number. And for this to work, ID should be uniquely assigned to a combination of reconcilation and alternate reconciliation account.
So , basically ID is short cut key (for alternate reconciliation account) during document entry.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Deduction amount from the bill should hit reconciliation account.

    Hello Friends,
In my current implementation scenario, The customer will deduct some amount from every invoiced amount as a retention amount. So net payable will be amount after deduction.
Here in pricing if i create condition type for deduction then it will hit the GL account but not the reconciliation account.
    How to map this scenario?
    Thank you
    Regards!
    Sadanand.

    Hi friend,
I'm sorry, for me retentions means taxes.
One question, is crores the unit in the Indian numbering system for large amounts?
One idea, as you tell me, a solution perhaps will be a rebate with the sign changed (in V/06). I haven't try never, because I haven't found this request never. You do the retention/provisions (when you do the invoice, so, do it in V/08) and when you do the settlement you can invoice the provision or retention with a debit memo.
For rebates you can check SAP Note 410579 - FAQ: Rebate processing.
    I hope this helps you

  • Alternative reconciliation account

    Hi,
we have a following requirement from the client:
The business process is the following:
approx.10.000 Retail beer customers in dist. channel X and Y. We would like to invoice a so-called rent fee with sundry invoicing for the equipments they use. (In the future we will create other kind of sundry invoices for them too.) Depending on the category of the equipment we will invoice 3 different amounts per equipment.
These customers will issue towards us an invoice with the same amount as a marketing contribution.
Incoming and outgoing invoices have to be settled against each other. This is not a onetime action. We must repeat this process year by year.
    Business process:
    1.     Outgoing invoices have to be created for customers about the annual rent fee
    2.             Mass creation of sales orders and invoices using LSMW.
    3.     Customer issues an incoming invoice in the same value about marketing cost contribution ( with LSMW for FB01 transaction ).
    4.     Outgoing and incoming invoices have to be settled (zero settlement)
    4.     If customer doesnu2019t issues invoice, he has to be dunned
    My questions are:
    1) our client has asked to Make settings for u201CPosting with alternative reconciliation accountu201D: allow for G/L account ABC to post with alternative reconciliation account Nr. DEF.
we can not change the recon. account to alternative recon. account here, when the customer invoices are get created from VF01, so what is the purpose of alternative recon. account here ?
    2) How to carry out Automatic Zero settlement of incoming and outgoing invoices using automatic payment program?
    Thanks,
    Vidya

    Answer 1
    =======
During document entry, you use the reconciliation account to define the G\L account in which the transaction figures are to be updated. You determine which G\L account is to be used using:
    The special G\L indicator or
The reconciliation account which is defined in the master record (default) and, if relevant, any additional alternative reconciliation accounts which you can define per reconciliation account in Customizing
Define accordingly for customers and vendors
    Answer 2
    =======
The is no automatic scheduling of Payment Run in F110
However, you can schedule the proposals in F110S. Make you use of this.
Create a variant and schedule them in background.

  • Several reconciliation accounts possible for one customer/vendor

    Dear experts,
I am starting with FI-CO module.
I have a question regarding G/L reconciliation accounts
-Are they only linked to subledgers AP-AR in the customers/vendors master data?  I mean for one customer i only have 1 reconciliation account (receivable from customers), i can' t have more than 1 reconciliation accounts (except Special G/L indicators such as down payments, or bad debt etc.)?
ex : what can i do with the following exemple?
I have customers who are my policy holders (we are an insurance company).
I can pay them sometimes commissions and sometimes a profit sharing.
    So i have 2 G/L accounts :
-Payables to policy holders -direct business
-Payables to policy holders - profit sharing
in my customers master data I can't affect these 2 accounts at the same time to my customer...So what am I supposed to do?
Affect the first one as default in the master data, and define the second one as a special G/L indicator?
I currently have quite a lof of detail in my operational Chart of a account and I don't know how to manage this?
Is there only the special G/L indicators solution?
Do you know if there are some recommandations regarding the special G/L indicators use? Can we create easily as many special G/L codes (and accounts) as we want? Or do you have a best practice?
Many thanks in advance for your helps
    best regards,
    Armelle Rolland

    Dear Armelle Rolland
    Answer your questions below:
1.Are they only linked to subledgers AP-AR in the customers/vendors master data? I mean for one customer i only have 1 reconciliation account (receivable from customers), i can' t have more than 1 reconciliation accounts (except Special G/L indicators such as down payments, or bad debt etc.)?
answer>yes.  But their is alternative reconciliation account functio that reconciliation account can be changed manually when posting.
2.ex : what can i do with the following exemple?
I have customers who are my policy holders (we are an insurance company).
I can pay them sometimes commissions and sometimes a profit sharing.

Affect the first one as default in the master data, and define the second one as a special G/L indicator?
answer-> using alternative reconciliation account functionality or special G/L Function.
3.Do you know if there are some recommandations regarding the special G/L indicators use? Can we create easily as many      special G/L codes (and accounts) as we want? Or do you have a best practice?
    you can use A--Z; 0-9. If not enough, some customers are using "=, <, (, !, $, &, -" ect.
In you case, suggest you to use alternative reconciliation account function.
Alternative reconciliation account can be maintained in Tcode:OBXY), and in FS00, tick the u201Crecon. acct ready for inputu201D flag for reconciliation account which is maintained in Tcode:FD02, then go to Tcode FB01, when you enter customer line items, the reconciliation account can be changed.
Hope above information can help you solve your issue.
