Reconciliation with resource and delegation

Hi All,
I have developed a java class that is working fine for the delegation purpose means as per the inputs, it sets the delegatee for that user for a particular interval.
Now my requirement is that when I reconcile OIM against a resource, suppose AD, then the value set as delegatee in AD should also be reconciled properly and also if there is any change in delegatee it should be reflected in OIM also. I think this is possible, if at the time of reconciliation I can call the java class developed for delegation. But I am not getting how it can be done on the event of changing a particular attribute? If there is any other way for doing the same, then please suggest.
Besides this, in OIM form we have location and department fields. is it possible to modify it so that the location field is a drop down list and on the basis of the value selected in location, department is populated.
Please put your points over here. It will be really helpful to me.
Thanks
Gaurav

Adding resources to tasks may not adjust duration if the task is not effort driven or if the task is fixed duration.
When you initially assign the resource at a lower assignment unit, Project calculates the work for the resource based upon Assignment Units * Task Duration.
If after you have assigned the resource (your second scenario), you drop the assignment units, Project will, by default, not recalculate the work.  It will assume you wish the resource to work fewer hours per day (lower assignment unit) on the same
amount of work.  So, duration is adjusted (increased) if you drop assignment units.
See: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project-help/change-the-task-type-project-uses-to-calculate-task-duration-HP010092039.aspx
It applies even though the article is for 2007.
For additional information see:

And certainly, feel free to post back with additional questions.

    Hi,
    I am doing bdc for tcode pv10,i want to update the resource type and resource,i tried with it,i do not get idea,pls give me u r suggestions.
    cheers,

    Hi,
    You need to click on the 'Resource Selection' button on the top left hand corner of the create event screen.
    If you do not see any resources there, it means you have not added resources to your event type. Go to PP01, and create relationship A022 (requires resource type).
    For rooms and materials, this is fine. For instructors, you need to create relationship A026 (is held by) also.

  • Working with Resources, and JARs

    I am writing a program that opens images, displays them, moves them, ect.
    I need to know how to get access to a Image from a resource that will still work in a JAR.
    Right now to open Images I do this:
    File file = new File(szPath);
    return (Image)ImageIO.read(file);
    This approach works great until I go to a JAR file.
    How do I fix this issue?

    Suppose the jar file looked like this:
        manifest --(with Main-Class: mypackage.Foo)--\\    mypackage\\        Foo.class\\    res\\        image.pngThen the Foo class can access the image with:
    Image im = imageIO.read(getClass().getResource("/res/image.png"));The first / in the string argument to getResource() means "ignore where the Foo class is and just locate this image from the 'top' of the classpath". This (with a leading /) is the easiest to understand initially.
    (One gotcha on Windows is that iMaGe.png and image.png will function interchangeably as Files but not as jar archive entries. So check the file names before you create the jar.)
    If you still have problems, post a SSCCE.

    Doesn't matter what the main class is (or whether there is one.)

  • AD- OIM Reconciliation with Manager as Approver of Resources

    Hi, I'm trying to setup the following scenario:
    AD->OIM Reconciliation with user's manager information. Setup the manager as the user's approver for every resource available in OIM.
    When a user gets added to the AD, he is reconciled into OIM and I have made 2 user defined fields, one to store his managers distinguished name and another to store the users - "usr_udf_man_dn" and "usr_udf_dn". This is working fine, both columns get populated on reconciliation.
    What I would like to do is assign the manager as the approver for all the resources that are requested by the user. I am thinking of populating the usr_manager_key through an sql query, by matching "usr_udf_man_dn" with "usr_udf_dn" and getting the managers "usr_key", then storing it in usr_manager_key of the user. The query is not my real problem.
    As I'm new to OIM, I don't yet know how to build the 'logic' of this process. How and where to I make the query? I'm assuming these fields can only be populated after the user has been reconciled (because there won't be any fields to do an sql query on before that). Do I use an adapter? How do I setup the approval process?
    Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

    This is very simple and infact there are 2 ways to do it:
    # 1) Create a User Process Trigger that adds on Change Event of your Manager UDF Field. This will kick in as soon as a value is put into the Manager UDF field (doesn't matter - via Recon or by hand). Then create an adapter that looks up a User in AD with the DN (your manager) and returns back a SamAccountName. Based on this returned SamAccountName, get the update the user with manager key. Attach this adapter to your process task event in Xellerate User Process Definition.
    # 2) Create an Entity adapter that does the same operation as written in #1. Attach this entity adapter to Xellerate User Update event. This is simpler. Drawback of this is that anytime you update the user (for anything - like last name change , org change etc.) - it will repeat this process of updating the user with its manager key. so any change on employee will trigger the manager update. #1 is more efficient.
    As far as the approval processes are concerned, there are 2 ways to achieve that also:
    # 1) Attach approval in the standard task and assign it to User's Manager for approval. Limitation is that you can not get rid of this in future once you go production with such a setup. You can but you might not want to.
    # 2) Individually on each approval process of each resource object, attach the approval task and assign it to User's Manager. That should do it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Resource Bundle with JRun4 and JDK 1.6

    Hi Everyone
    I have been using ResourceBundle with JDK 1.4 since quite a long. Following is the code snippet to show the way it was being used.
    ResourceBundle.getBundle("com.app.resources.sql\\entry_sql" + Locale.US);This code runs on JRun4 (updater 7). We recently migrated the code to JDK 1.6 with no change in above code. After this, the above code started throwing MissingResourceException.
    If I modify the code like below, it works fine.
    ResourceBundle.getBundle("com.app.resources.sql/entry_sql" + Locale.US);Interestingly, "\\" works well in a stand alone application and fails only when JRun is started as a service or from a command prompt using jrun -start.
    Can someone help me find out the cause? Is this somehow related to new caching technique introduced in JDK 1.6's ResourceBundle or this has to do with JRun4 and updater 7?
    Regards

    This is not related to line.separator. The resource itself does not get loaded if the file.separator used is "\\".
    Moreover, this issue (throwing missing resource exception) pops up only when I upgrade the application to JDK 1.6.
    If application compiled on JDK1.4 is used with JRun4 using JDK1.4, it works fine.

    To use servlets u have indeed to update your web.xml...Well I'm not sure this is relevant to your case anyway.
    You have to add a <servlet> element to this file.
    Something like this:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>blabla</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>blablapackage.Blablaclass</servlet-class>
    <init-param>...</init-param>
    </servlet>
    Now this may not solve your problem. Make sure you refer to your servlets using their full qualified names.btw, just to be sure, what is your definition of "servlet"? (i mean: any java class or only javax.servlet.Servlet)

  • Alternative resources and alternative modes with CTM

    Hi everybody,
    we are trying to figure out, whether CTM supports alternative resources and alternative modes.
    Does anyone know if it is possible or has even implmented the functionality?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards
    Mitch

    Hi Mitch,
    It depends on what CTM profile you are using. 1) Bucket based or 2) Time continuous.
    1) Bucket based : You will have to use SNP PDS and SNP PDS do not support alternative modes.
    Alternative resources are not supported at all in SNP.
    As an alternative, You can use the BAdi /SAPAPO/CURTO_SNP with CIF_IMPORT parameter to create multiple PDSes in case there is alternative resource in routing/recipe.
    2) TIme continuous: You will use CTM PDS.
    PPDS PDS supports alternative resources. I am entirely not sure about CTM PDS.
    I will check out, if I can find out.
    Which CTM profile you are using?

  • Reconciliation with custom workflow

    Hello,
    I have a resource with Proxy Admin for reconciliation.
    The Proxy Admin's UserForm is my custom UserForm that has a
    <Field name='viewOptions.Process'> element with my custom WorkFlow.
    When I login as Proxy Admin and try create a User in "Examine Account Index" applet, it execute my WorkFlow and everything is fine.
    But when I want "Full Reconciliation" it execute my UserForm with some other WorkFlow, not my WorkFlow.
    I try to debug it with NetBeans and I see that the custom UserForm is processed, but my WorkFlow isnt executed.
    I use IDM 8.1 with last patch.
    Is it IDM or my fault?
    Can i execute custom reconciliation workflow other way (like ActiveSync "run-this-workflow-instead-of-everything" field)?
    ActiveSync is not supported my connector.
    Thanks
    Wbse

    Hello again,
    I try reconciliation on IDM 8.0 and 7.1 versions with same result (I try it with database-table and xml-file connectors).
    My Proxy_admin can create the accounts fine with CustomForm and CustomWorkFlow if I do it manual on WebUI.
    I don't understand if the Reconciliation process using my Form, why don't execute my Workflow defined in <Field name='viewOptions.Process'>.
    Does Reconciliation require some other Field? Or Reconciliation ignores all custom WorkFlow?
    I try it to resolve with Per-Account-WorkFlow, but I think it is not the good result.
    Thanks
    Wbse

  • How do I set miminum # of connections for pool with Oracle and Tomcat?

    Hi,
    I can't seem to find any attribute to initialize the number of connections for my connection pool. Here is my current context.xml file under my /App1 directory:
    <Context path="/App1" docBase="App1"
    debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    <Resource name="App1ConnectionPool" auth="Container"

    </Context>
    I've been googling and reading forums, but haven't found a way to establish the minimum number of connections. I've tried all sorts of parameters like InitialLimit, MinLimit, MinActive, etc, with no success.
    Here is some sample code that I am testing:

              conn.openProxySession(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME,prop);
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT username, server from v$session where username is not null");
    while (rst.next()) {

    try {
    conn.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {

    public String getMessage() {
    return message;
    I'm using a utility to repeatedly call a JSP page that uses this class and displays the message variable. This utility allows me to specify the number of concurrent web requests and an overall number of requests to try. While that is running, I look at V$SESSION in Oracle and occassionaly, I will see a brief entry for app1 or adavey depending on the timing of my query and how far along the code has processed in this example. So it seems that I am only using one connection at a time and not a true connection pool.
    Is it possible that I need to use the oci driver instead of the thin driver? I've looked at the javadoc for oci and the OCIConnectionPool has a setPoolConfig method to set initial, min and max connections. However, it appears that this can only be set via Java code and not as a parameter in my context.xml resource file. If I have to set it each time I get a database connection, it seems like it sort of defeats the purpose of having Tomcat maintain the connection pool for me and that I need to implement my own connection pool. I'm a newbie to this technology so I really don't want to go this route.
    Any advice on setting up a proper connection pool that works with Tomcat and Oracle proxy sessions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Well I did some more experiments and I am able to at least create a connection pool within my example code:
    package web;
    import oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource;
    import oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;

    import java.util.Properties;
    public class ConnectionPool {
    String message = "Not Connected";
    public void init() {
    OracleConnection conn = null;
    ResultSet rst = null;
    Statement stmt = null;
    try {
    Context initContext = new InitialContext();
    Context envContext = (Context) initContext.lookup("java:/comp/env");
    OracleDataSource ds = (OracleDataSource) envContext.lookup("App1ConnectionPool");
    message = "Here.";
         String user = ds.getUser();
    if (envContext == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No Context");
    if (ds == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No DataSource");
    if (ds != null) {
    message = "Trying to connect...";
    boolean cache_enabled = ds.getConnectionCachingEnabled();
    if (!cache_enabled){
    ds.setConnectionCachingEnabled(true);
    Properties cacheProps = new Properties();
    cacheProps.put("InitialLimit","5");
         cacheProps.put("MinLimit","5");
    cacheProps.put("MaxLimit","10");
    ds.setConnectionCacheProperties(cacheProps);
              conn = (OracleConnection) ds.getConnection();
    Properties prop = new Properties();
    prop.put("PROXY_USER_NAME", "adavey/xyz");
    if (conn != null) {
    message = "Got Connection " + conn.toString() + ", ";
              conn.openProxySession(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME,prop);
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    //rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT 'Success obtaining connection' FROM DUAL");
    rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT user, SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') from dual");
    while (rst.next()) {
    message = "DS User: " + user + "; DB User: " + rst.getString(1) + "; sys_context: " + rst.getString(2);

    These attributes seemed to have no effect:
    ConnectionCachingEnabled="1" ; also tried "true"
    MinLimit="5"
    MaxLimit="20"
    So basically if I could find some way to get these attributes set within the context.xml file instead of my code, I would be a happy developer :-)
    Oh well, it's almost Miller time here on the east coast. Maybe a few beers will help me find the solution I'm looking for.

    Have you moved Pages from its installed location? Or just dragged a copy to your current system?
    It can't find some of its resources apparently.

  • Sever issue with Xorg and Nvidia Drivers

    I run a 2.6.20 kernel with Xorg and Nvidia drivers all from arch rep on a Asus NV6200. Everything works fine, except one thing. When I exit X, the monitor shuts down imediatly. It wont start up at all, not even by manual startup. I cant understand what happens. The configuration is correct, is done with the correct settings for my video-card and monitor taken directly from the documentation. I cant use my X server at all since several days ... I checked the logs and there are no EE's. Anyway ... here is the log. Help anyone can help, I cant use X at all.

    No ... the problem is in the kernel that comes precompiled.
    I did this test.
    The first time I installed the kernel I unloaded nvidiafb since I dont like it.
    When I install nvidiafb back something strange happends. Nvidia module fails to load.
    The modprobe sais it cannot find the device nvidia.ko ... but it is there!
    So my best guess is, there is something with the kernel. Any ideas?
    Problem resolved, installed older driver
