Record inflation!!!

Morning Guys,
I have created a crosstab in my report footer and for some reason when the formula calculates the records it displays those records which are filtered. i.e. those records which doesn't need to be on the report.
According to someone in another forum he suggested that I should create a manual cross tab because I have a record inflation going on in my crosstab.
I don't get it, what is this record inflation and how can I cure this problem.
Any ideas?
My report displayed (Initially)
Total - 102 jobs
Cancelled - 1
Number of Days - Number of Jobs - Percentage
0                             102                    100%
1                               54
2                               12
3                                23
Total                         102                    100%
The report counts all the records and puts it into the Day 0.
I fixed the issue by using formula to count number of records however, that didn't work out either.
Now my report displays
Total - 102 jobs
Cancelled - 1
Number of Days - Number of Jobs - Percentage
0                             1                         100%
1                               54
2                               12
3                                23
Total                         102                    100%
How can I fix the above issue? please help!!!

Thanks for the very informative answer. I'll check the note right away.
There are two different methods which I used to calculate the records,
1: I am calculating my Order number records by putting them into the Summarized section of the Crosstab and then using Distinct Count.
2: I used a manual formula like this:
If Order Status=77 then
Order Number
I inserted this into the Crosstab Summarised Field and chose Distinct Count.
In either cases, Crosstab displays total records(unfiltered) right on top of the report.

  • Usage time is greatly inflated

    I have my phone set to auto-lock with a passcode after one minute and my email checking set to "manual". After fully charging my phone overnight my Usage and Standby counters were reset to "0". I briefly checked my numbers before leaving the house and they read Usage: 2m and Standby: 3m.
    Since checking those stats this morning I have not touched my phone except to press the Home button once to look at the time. I did receive two SMS messages.
    After 12 hours of non-use my Usage now reads 1h 15m. Anyone know what would be inflating the Usage stats or why it would be showing the wrong usage?

    Okay so I restored the phone to its factory settings about 21 hours ago. I have used the phone a bit for surfing, watching movies, you tube, and using the calandar as well as being on the phone for 1 hour and 22 minutes. Wifi was on most of that time and I kept the phone on standby while I was't using it and while I slept.
    I am happy to report that the usage is "somewhat" correct. It says that my total usage is 3 hrs 26 mins. However, even if you take the phone out of standby for a second it will record a minute or two of usage time. But it is not recording large amounts of usage while in standby and the battery is currently showing a 50 % charge. Which coincides with Apples battery specs.
    In conclusion, the full restore seemed to work like a charm and the battery and the phone are doing great...As Advertised.

  • QuickTime X - Screen recording - can't import into FCP 7.0

    Well, the title pretty much says it all.
    I upgraded to Snow Leopard on my MacBookPro 2.4GHzCore2Duo4GB RAM. No problems.
    I ran the new QuickTime X and made a short screen recording. Saved to desktop; I get a .mov file.
    Ran Final Cut Pro 7.0 after recently upgrading to FCS 3, tried to import the screen recording, get error message "File error: unknown file."
    What's up?
    The file can be read by iMovie '09, by the way - not that I would ever use that software.

    Man, I'm wishing it were THAT easy.
    I'm needing to do this exact workflow, and still can't find a way to make FCP happy.
    ATTEMPT #1:
    First, I used QT X to make a two-minute Screen Recording. It creates a file called "Screen Recording.mov" in the Movies folder, with the file's dimensions being the same as my 23" Cinema Display (1920x1200). As we already know -- even though "Get Info" describes this file as simply a "QuickTime movie" using Apple's H.264 codec, something YOU'D THINK would be perfectly compatible with APPLE's flagship professional editing program -- it's not.
    "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. OK"
    ATTEMPT #2:
    So I quit the new QuickTime, and open the "Screen Recording.mov" file in QT7. I select "Export...", and I go with the default "Movie to QuickTime movie" option (which seems redundant, but the other choices in the pull down list don't look all that appropriate). I give the about-to-be-created new file a revised name, and then QuickTime7 chugs away for several minutes, converting the QuickTime movie QuickTime X created into a QuickTime7 QuickTime movie which hopefully the QuickTime-based FinalCutPro editing program will be gracious enough to import.
    I really hope someone at Apple is taking note of how absurd this all sounds. And that would be okay, if when I then tried to Import this new QuickTime file into FinalCutPro 7, I didn't get the EXACT SAME (and typically unhelpful and uninformative) error message:
    "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. OK"
    ATTEMPT #3:
    Okay -- an "editable codec". So I once again open the "Screen Recording.mov" file in QT7. I select "Export...", but this time I click on "Options...", then "Settings...", and then for "Compression Type", I select Apple ProRes 422. Hey, that's gotta work, right? It's ProRes -- by Apple. The new codec in which everything's supposed to play together nicely. Why the Timeline I've currently got open is even ProRes422.
    So imagine my delight when I try to Import this latest version of the file (now inflated from 140MB to 1.2GB -- but hey, at least it's gonna work)...
    "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. OK"
    Well no, it's not OK. And when FCP finally gets the top-to-bottom, under-the-hood AND interface overhaul this one-foot-still-stuck-in-OS9 app so desperately needs, maybe it will at least provide HELPFUL error messages, something like: "Sorry -- this file can't be imported because xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. You can use xxxxxxxxxxxxxx to convert its xxxxxxxxx setting to the required xxxxxxx, or you can try xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in a new Timeline."
    (And yes, I am a regular contributor to "Apple Feedback".)
    Alright, venting finished. Would now be hugely grateful if someone could translate Apple's cryptic "-- 1 file(s) recognized --" error message into a real-world way to make what should be a straightforward process actually work: just save a simple screen recording, and then use that screen recording in a Final Cut project?

  • TM900-Should I record in iFrame?

    I'm picking up a Panasonic TM900 camcorder in a few days to replace my current HDV cam.  I am looking forward to the file based workflow and to someday, shooting in 60p.
    The TM900 supports Apple's iFrame and I'm wondering if, for now, I should use that setting. 
    I'm on a 2.16GHz C2D iMac (last of the white ones).  I have 3GB RAM.  I will be editing in iMovie.  I'm thinking this machine will struggle--or not work at all--with 1080 60p. 
    My shooting is 70% family videos and 30% short films for fun.  Distribution will be YouTube/Vimeo, Apple TV 2 and some DVD.
    I just hate to "waste" all that resolution at record time by moving down to iFrame.  But, if that is all I will be consuming for the next few years, it may make sense.
    Just wondering what you all are thinking?  Does iFrame have a place?  Or should we always capture at highest and spend the time in post to down convert for editing? 

    I think this is very good idea, it's going to conserve disk space and it's going to play fast in iMovie too. I've purchased the HM-T1A (Flip style) from Panasonic for the very reason that it records direct to iFrame. The reason I did this was for the sake absolute flat out speed. I don't want to convert, transcode, or wait one second to import ANYTHING into iMovie. Similarly the issues presented by up and down conversion of 720p or 1080i footage means you're always expanding to the full rez, then down-rezzing to get it into the Apple AIC format to edit in iMovie. With iFrame it comes right in, never gets touched. And it actually captures more rez believe it or not. Hows that possible you ask? Well, the iFrame format compresses each frame a lot less than typical HD formats, and it doesn't cheat by skipping frames the way the HD formatted clips do. You will find the Data Rate for each size/rez tells it all. On my HM-T1A the data rate for iFrame = 25-26Mbits/sec. All the higher rez 1080i and 720p formats have much lower data rates 17-12Mbits. The reason is the H.264 encoding and MPEG-4 skip frames and use math to re-generate them when played back. When you import that footage, your Mac more or less is re-recording those reconstituted re-inflated video frames at the iFrame rez of 960x540. While others will argue with me, I would argue in return if you're compressing a single video frame a factor of 12:1 or 17:1 there's no free lunch, it's not really HD it's heavily compressed HD. The iFrame actually records each and EVERY frame of video at 30frames/sec. Compresses within those frames and that's what you get in iMovie. No re-generated, re-constituted, re-inflated mathematical algorithms giving you back all the pixels it estimated and threw away. For me iFrame is good enough, it's higher fidelity and FAST, FAST, FAST to get started editing as soon as I import it into an Event.

    Diagnosis
    Implementation of BADI /SAPCND/ROLLNAME or method FIELD_CHECK/DEFAULT_VALUE_SUGGESTION is missing for the filter characteristic ZIUSERSTATUS.

  • How do I use my web cam to record audio and video? I can get the video to work but no sound.

    I want to record both audio and video at the same time. The video works fine but not the audio. I do use Skype without any problems using both.

    You did not say what webcam software you are using...

    You can also buy (for $38 US) YouCam 5.0 from the Cyberlink.com website and it has audio/video and all sorts of other goodies, too.  (They have 3.x as well, but why buy what HP already gives you?)

  • CUBE Not getting All records from DSO

    Hi Experts ,
    We have a situation where we have to load data from a DSO to a Cube . The DSO contains only 9 records and while we r loading the data into cube , the cube is only getting 2 records . Thus 7 records are missing. Also The Cube contains more Fields  than DSO. in the transformations , for the extra fields we have written end routine and those extra fields will get data by reading master data .. Any pointers how to get the missing records or what is the error ...

  • Pension payment period record issue in Retiree Payroll

    Dear Experts,
    We are implementing Retiree payroll with new set of wagetypes and payroll area. Now requirement is that there needs to be a provision of recording the balance period of pension payment and further it should be displayed in the form of report. That means say employee has the eligibility of receiving pension from 01.12.1998 to 14.11.2015 and he has received it till  Oct, 2010, remaining balance period needs to be projected in month and days like 60.14/98.12 etc.
    Now please suggest how to achieve it, should we create a custom infotype for storing it or any other way is there.

    It is Indian payroll.
    Requirement is to store the balance period of pension payment, like if one employee is eligible to get pension ( as per our pension benefit scheme) for 10 years 3months 15 days since his retirement date and has already received for 36 months i.e. 3years, we need to store and display that he is eligible to get pension for another 7years 3months 15 days in 87.15 format (i.e. 7*12+3= 87months and 15days) on monthly basis.
    This will be also captured in a report later on.

    Yeah, I got the "200" because I'm transferring 300 training sessions from VHS to DVD. I use the RCA inputs (three wire plug type - white & red (sound) and yellow (video)). EyeTV200 does a fine job.
    I also use our Canon GL2 to pass the video through the camera via firewire into my Intel iMac. I find EyeTV 200 easier (and I can watch and record TV!) while at work! (WaaHOO!)
    This is for the analog signal. TEh EyeTV 500 is for
    digital cable.

    True! You can even schedule it to record like a VCR. I set it up to record "Amazing Race" before leaving work because the program comes on late and I wanted to see it. Got to work and there it was!

    It is a .cfm but only displays 15 records at a time, I was wondering if there is a tag or way to have it display all 300 something records at once?  My ultimate goal is to get just the full table into a excel spreadsheet while retaining the HTML formatting so the links still work.
    My thought is that the state has set it up this way to only display a set number of records at a time, the data is not private or protected, I am simply seeking a easier way to access it in aggregate.

    I think your best hope is to ask the author of the CFM whether they provide any web service that can get you that data when you call it.  like.

    There's a chance they may be regulating performance on the resultset, and don't want to return that many records at a time, pagination or not.

    Can anyone please help me with the SQL query. I Im having a table called People with columns names: personno., lastname, firstname and so on. The personno. is having duplicate records,so all the duplicate records i have written with "double" in
    the beginning of the numbers. I tried deleting these double records but they are linked to one or more than one tables. I have to find out, all the tables blocking the deleting of double person. And then create select statements which creates update statements
    in order to replace the current id of double person with substitute id. (The personno. is in the form of id's in the database)

    You should not append "double" in the personno. When we append it will not be able to join or relate to other table. Keep the id as it is and use another field(STATUS) to mark as duplicate. Also we will require another field(PRIMARYID) against
    those duplicate rows i.e the main or the primary personno.

    it is answered, here for my table there is no Table Maint.Generator.
    i just explained how i have done it.
    i just simply gone into Debug mode. there
    code = Dele.
    i have given. then i came out from debug mode to Table. there i just got Delete button on application tool bar.
    i selected the record then icliked on Delete button.
    it is got deleted.
    But it is not asking for any new Transport Request.

  • How to delete the records in BI for deleted reocrds in R/3

    We have a scenarion described below...
    We have a table in R/3 and updates happen to the table every week with a ZPROGRAM which deletes some of the records and recreates with some logic.
    Assuming :
    Initially, We did the load to BI and we got 200 records for last week (Initial Load)
    After R/3 prgram is ran, it deletes some of the reocrds in those table , say we only have 150.
    Now, Can BW somehow know , what are those records and delete those 50 records from the request which has already been loaded ?
    FYI, we just have an indicator marked with X on the R/3 table if the program in R/3 has run.
    I know, one solution is  "selective deletion".
    As we have to selectively delete every week, we do not want to take that approach.
    Second is "full load" but we do not want to do full load also as the data volume is huge.
    We would like to delete those 50 reocrds in BI dynamically with some ABAP code/some logic. Does anyone have any suggestions ???

    Hi Kumar,
    I will try to explain it, but at the moment I am unable to take a look at  the code.
    I have set up a generic function module which will do the trick for more than one specific datasource. This function module is placed in the startroutine and only executed for the first datapackage.
    Within the startroutine of the transformation, you have the possibility to use the p_r_request class. This class contains all necessary information about the current DTP load.
    I use the get_source and get_target methods to determine the correct database tables dynamically. The t_h_sel (or somthing) contains the current DTP selections. This will include the RequestID and all other selections like fiscal year for example.
    Because the write optimized DSO only has a technical key, we can use the RequestID to do the selection on the source table. After that you can compare the source selection with the active table of the second DSO and add all records from the second DSO that are not available in the source selection.
    Please note that the key of the second DSO should be the same as the semantic key of the first DSO in order to do the compare.
