Record Limit for a book

Hi experts,
from online help, it mentions that
"Any book can contain data, but for best performance, do the following:
Limit the record count to a maximum of 20,000 to 30,000."
Does that mean if we have more than 30,000 records in a book that SOD performance will be bad?
The problem is we have more than 100,000 records for each book....but we also do not want to compromise the performance.
Is there any solution to that?
Thanks,
Sab

Hi Bob,
Yes, I am using the search function on the left. I am searching for Home phone number *4491773.
But the system hang for about 5 minutes and then prompted this message:
Error: originating at /OnDemand/user/AccountList
This request was interrupted by another request by you. Please try your request again later. (RIP_WAIT_ERROR_CALCELLED).
I only did a single search at a time, not sure why it mentioned "another request".
Thanks,

  • Two billion record limit for non-partitioned HANA tables?

Is there a two billion record limit for non-partitioned HANA tables? I've seen discussion on SCN, but can't find any official SAP documentation.

    Hi John,
Yes there is a limit for non-partitioned tables in HANA. In the first page of this document says: SAP HANA Database – Partitioning and Distribution of Large Tables
A non - partitioned table cannot store more than 2 billion rows. By using partitioning, this
limit may overcome by distributing the rows to several partitions. Please note, each partition must not contain more than 2 billion rows.
    Cheers,
    Sarhan.

  • Unnecessary page limit for Blurb book in Lightroom Book module

I'm posting this per Julieanne Kost's request following an email exchange regarding this topic.  I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise.  I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom.  I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book.  I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book.  I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
My recommendation in the short term would be for Adobe to warn Lightroom Book Module users up front that Lightroom's page limits differ from those if going directly through the Blurb website.
My recommendation in the longer term would be for the Adobe engineers to make whatever changes are necessary in the Lightroom code to allow for 440 pages when standard paper is selected (and more specifically to make the page limits match the limits of Blurb's actual books).  If there is any way to impress upon Adobe management the importance of this, I believe it would be greatly appreciated by many Lightroom/Blurb users.

I agree with that (though a 330 page Blurb book would break the bank :-)
I would also like to see the LR book module allow at least all the same Cover Templates as Booksmart does - I feel really constrained with both of them but much more so with LR...At least let us Drop a Full bleed finished cover on to the front and back covers!
Lately, I do all the page making in PS, move to LR to manage the page numbering and then export to jpg and ingest to Blurb to make my books...pretty kludgy, isn't it?

  • Maximum record limit for internal table

    hello all,
can any one tell me what is the maximum limit of internal table. i would like to add all records from bseg to internal table. so i can improve processing time.
    thanks,
    raj

    hi,
Before Release 4.0A, ABAP stored the content of internal tables in a combination of main memory and file space. This means that the maximum size of all internal tables of all programs running on such an application server at one time is about 2 GB. With Release 4.0A or greater, this size decreases to about 500 MB. (Note that those values aren't fixed, but this is a good guide. This minimum of 500 MB is the lowest limit of the real value, which varies among different operating systems and even among different releases of the same operating system.)
It may sound strange that a newer release has a higher restriction on capacity. But it's a consequence of the fact that the contents of internal tables move from a reserved file to shared memory. When you process internal tables this way in Release 4.0A or greater, you pay for much better performance with a smaller potential size.

  • Max record limit for Batch delete

    Hi,
Is there a limit on the maximum number of records that can be deleted using the batch delete functionality?
If I select an Account list which has more than 200 records, so it covers more than one page of the list view. When I select batch delete, does that delete all the records or just the 100 records on the first page?
    Regards,

The batch delete will delete all the records in the list. There is no upper limit on batch delete.

  • BUG: Record Limit per Document doesn't work for PDF in CS4 - does it work in CS5?

Hey all - I'm attempting to export 100 data merged documents to pdf.  I know i can use "Record Limit per Document" set to 1 to create 100 InDesign files, which isn't what i want to do.  When you select "Export to PDF" in the data merge window, the "record limit per document" option exists, but no matter what, it will always create one giant pdf file - it will NOT separate into 100 different pdf files.  This is a bug in CS4.
I am wondering if the bug has been fixed in CS5 or if there is a workaround in CS4 to generate the pdfs.
All I found is this ancient thread in which people say the only workaround is to batch convert the pdf files later, and then degenerates into unrelated discussion:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1110826

    g'day there
has there been any follow-up to this or workarounds?
i constantly have VDP jobs which have tens of thousands of records, but the chaps printing it only want the PDFs in lots of 500 or so. being able to do ONE merge which splits the merge into bite-size PDFs for our printing section would be preferable to making them through the dialog box in the appropriate lots.

  • Maximum time/size limit for Beehive Conference recording

Hi, What is the maximum time/size limit for Beehive Conference recording?
    Thanks
    Chinni

Looks like I found the probable location of this size limit.  Looking at the web.config file in the
ExchServer\ClientAccess\Sync folder there is an entry for "MaxDocumentDataSize".  THe value is currently set at 10240000:
    <add key="MaxDocumentDataSize" vaulue ="10240000">
So this is 9.75 MB or there about, which sounds about right.  I will try increasing this limit at some point to verify.
    Can anyone confirm this?

  • LSO: Duplicated Records Created For Each Person During Booking For Course

    Dear All,
Since 2 months ago, I've been hitting the following issue.
When I book an employee to a course through ESS, duplicated course participation records are created in the system.
The duplicated records are having different booking priorities.
And I aware that, this happened to the course which has workflow tagged to it.
Sometimes, instead of having duplicated records created, it hit dump with the following message:
"The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records."
Does anyone know what problem is this?
    Thanks.

Did you solve this problem, Im facing the same problem.
    My HRP1001 table is increasing.

    create table books
    book_id integer,
    title varchar2(100),
    etc...
    create table authors
    author_id integer,
    name varchar2(100),

    create table book_authors
    book_id integer,
    author_id integer
);You could also have only 2 tables book and authors (with authors table having a fk column to book_id).
It would depends if the author is supposed to remain unique throught different books.
    - The 3 tables model would allow a single update on author information to be automatically "propagated" to all book he participed in.
    - The 2 tables model would allow to have different information for each participation of the author to different books (but would certainly "duplicate" part of the data about the author)
One can also have even more tables to totally avoid data "duplication".

  • Max no of records in for all entries table

    Hello all,
Hi have used for all entries in a select statement in BW extractor. This extractor is working fine for the test data. When i moved this code to pre-production for testing, there this extractor has to deal with thousands of records. In pre-prod , this select statement is not picking up all the records available in DB. Can any one give any idea on behavior of for all entries for large number of records. and is the any max limit for for all entries table.
Thank you..correct answer will be rewarded.

  • Payment/Credit Limit for Vendors

    Hi SAP Gurus!
Is it possible to impose a maximum payment/credit limit for Vendors in SAP?
I saw in this forums that it can be done through Contracts but in the contracts, you have to enter a material. Is it possible that you don't have a material and the contract will encompass all the transactions of the vendor?\
Hope to hear from you soon!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can make use of following Features of Contract w/o materials;
    Item Categories in Contracts: -
Just as with purchase orders, you can enter an item category to define the item as an external service item, a consignment item, a subcontracting item or as a free-form text item.
    Item Category M (Material Unknown)
Item category M is for entering contract items without specifying the material number.
Item category M is recommended for similar materials with the same price but with differing material numbers.
    Example
Consider a contract item for different types of office paper. The various types of paper have the same weight, quality, and price. However, they differ in the following respects: One type is lined, another is unlined, and another has two holes on the left side for filing purposes.
How Do You Use Item Category M?
In the case of items of category M, you enter the short text (short description), target quantity, unit of measure, and price. As soon as a contract release order is created, the material number or a short text is entered (e.g. the exact type of paper, say, two-hole punched). The system determines the net price on the basis of the gross price entered, less any discounts.
    Item Category W (Material Group)
Item category W allows you to enter a material group without entering the value or quantity of the contract item. Item category W is for value contracts only.
    Example
Consider a contract for cable. The contract covers every type of cable on the vendor's price list. The exact type of cable is known only at the time a specific cable is ordered.
Instead of entering an item for every type of cable the vendor is able to supply, you could enter item category W and the material group (say, CABLE). The short text would indicate that the contract item covers all types of cable supplied by the vendor.
Each release order issued against this contract would then specify the actual type and quantity of cable (for example, double-shielded coax, 1 spool) as well as the price.
How Do You Use Item Category W?
When you create the contract item, enter the item category W, the short text, and the material group. You do not enter a price or conditions for the item. However, it is possible to specify conditions in the document header. For example, you can enter a discount in the header conditions if the vendor grants a discount on all Pos relating to the contract. The discount is automatically taken into account when the release order is created.
You can enter a material number in the contract release order. The corresponding material master record must be assigned to the same material group specified in the referenced contract item. If the release order does not have a material number, then it must contain a valid account assignment, such as a cost center.
