    Hi MR. HAFEEZ MR.
    The requirement is not clear but you can print serial number in cross tab.
    Go in Cross tab and right click on a field where you want to insert serial number and go in Format Field -- common Tab--Disply String then write the following formula :
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Global Numbervar x;
    x:=x+1;
    totext(x,"##")"  "CurrentFieldValue;
    It will print serial number along with your field value.

    I have a cross tab in my report which displays no of tickets opened grouped by day, week or Month, grouping is done based on a parameter GroupBy, which has Day, Week, Month values
    Incident   Jun -99  Jul-99
    Priority1      10          20
    Priority2      45          23
    if user selects day or week, cross tab should display column in dd/mm/yy format, if its month, MMM-yy format.
    I have created formula which returns a date type
    GroupBy = Day then Opendate
    GroupBy = Week then opendate -dayofweek(opendate)+1
    GroupBy = date(year(opendate),month(opendate),1)
    and used this date formula as column in cross tab. I tried to format using custom date style...but its not working in cross tab.
    if I use totext to format the date formula, data will not be in sorted order...ex, its showing jul-99 before jun-99
    can anyone help?

    You can avoid multiple cross tabs by using the Display String expression under Field Formatting.  The expression that is entered in this field is what is displayed as the field value in the report.  Use the same logic as you are using for calculating the value, except return CStr(CurrentFieldValue, <format>), where <format> is the formatting code for the desired date format based on GroupBy.

  • Conditional highlighting on cross-tabs

    Does anyone know if it is possible to conditionally highlight a field in cross-tab based on another field in the table? The field we&#39;re using to condition is not in the cross-tab, nor do we want it to be in the cross-tab. We need to highlight a report field based on another field from each record reported. Highlight expert won&#39;t let you highlight the field unless the field is in the cross-tab.

    Select the field from Cross Tab which you want to Highlight Right Click Select the Format Field
    Select the Font TabÂ
    Select the formula button next to color
    Then enter the formula
    IF field not in cross tab = somevalue then
    mention the Color Code which you want....

    I need to develop a cross tab format in RTF using template builder. Can we get this in matrix report using the standard wizard given in template builder or else it should be done manual. If it can be done through wizard can u please explain the process.
    And one more think what is the latest version of template builder available. In few cases its given as pivot table and in few its given as cross tab. I confused by that.

    I am developing cross tab report with group in BI Publisher(i.e matrix with group above report in report builder).
    My req.is
    Country1
    region1 region2 region3 --- (level1 column)

    regions(level1 columns) and d1,d2,d3(level2 columns) are data depenent on XML data.
    d1,d2 d3 may change in number based on data.Also we have page break on country.
    We could able to achieve in report builder but in Bi Publisher we are unable to achieve the same.
    Wizard in BI Publisher gives only one level of measure(region) only.
    Currently we are using BI Publisher template builder version 10.1.3.2.1
    Need help in this regard ASAP.

    I  have multiple crosstabs reports in a single tab each running on a different query.
    1st cross tab
    I created a crosstab report which has Account names,in the left column, dates in the top row header and account data in the data cell. This reports runs for historical dates example 01/2008-10/2008.
    I have caculated the average for this report and named it hist avg.
                       months
    acct names  data for each month      hist avg
    2nd cross tab
    I am using a different query which has account names and a single value(Field Value) for each account name.   eg  acct names    Field Value    Field Value* Hist Avg  (Caculated)= target   histavg(forsort)

    3rd cross tab
    I created a crosstab report which has Account names,in the left column, dates in the top row header and account data in the data cell. This reports runs for current dates dates example 01/2009-04/2009.
    I have caculated the average for this report and named it Current Avg.

    ISSUE :
    I need to put alerters on 3rd cross tab based on target calculated in 2nd cross tab.
    All 3 cross tabs are mergered on acct names. and sorted according to desc hist avg
    But when I put alerters it is not working. Cross tab 1 and 3 has same query but different date prompts.
    I tried merging date dimensions. Now wht I have got is both cross tab displays histavg dates+ Current dates but data for only hist dates or current dates. I used hide empty coloums, So it doesn't show emplty coloums. and was able to bring hist avg in 3rd cross tab.
    BUT ALERTERS ARE NOT WORKING.
    Field value is a standalone derived table.
    Is there are way to use alerters on acct data from one cross tab into anothers when both are running on different dates.????

    Look at the Total Wizard. You should be able select the right options to have totals at different level of the data. Also give us an example what you want to achieve.

    right click on the top left of the cross-tab and choose Group Sort Expert and there will be a top n expert available for the cross-tab.

  • Cross tab - change column name

    Hi,
    I would like to change on my dashboard the name of the column in cross tab based on design studio.
    I know that it is possible to do that on back-end side and provide desired names in query selection but I will need to to that on Design Studio level.
    Does anyone tell me if it is possible ?

    I have a cross Tab. I display the items on the left column and the months horizontally, the items are grouped by category field. The values are the sum of quantities are displayed for each month. Like this:

    The problem, I want to add a page header for each page of the report.
    When Crystal reports first displays my cross-tab in the designer, CR displays the cross tab in the Report header section. I d like to add text or image for each page and not only at the begining of my Cross-Tab.
    If I just add an image or text at the top of the report designer, which is my report header, I get the image or text only on the begining of the 1st page of my report but never in the other following pages.
    If I try to work around the problem and move the cross Tab to a group section instead, and then put the Image in the group header, I get what I want, but the problem is that:
    The columns header: Jan, February....December are displayed for each group of my report and not only in the beginning of the report. I get something like this:

    Hi Divya,
    you could do for example in the wdDoInit() of the view
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setPicture("picture.gif");
    Now you assign this context variable to the Tab using the Tab_header's imageSource-Property. When you click on its value column, you see a button with three dots on it. If you click on this button, you will get all context nodes and attributes for this View. Usable variables are clearly marked, you now choose the one named Picture or what ever name you prefer to use. But it must correspond to the one set in the wdDoInit.
    I think setting a picture (not necessarily for the tab-page) is done in one of the excellent tutorials. If you are a newcomer I strongly recommend doing some of the tutorials.  I have learned tremendously from them.

    Following is the scenario with me.
    I have 2 fields and one formula.
    Fields are HostName and Username.
    Formula is status which categorizes the Authorized and Unauthorized events.
    And in the Summary Field, I am calculating the total number of events.
    In cross tab, Fields are marking the Rows of the cross tab and Formula is making the Columns(Authorized and Unauthorized ) of the cross tab.
    Since in cross tab data is grouped from left to right and sorted by default. I want to remove this default sorting and want to put sorting on the formula for Unauthorized events.
    Is there any way to fulfill this requirement?

    You can assign a number to each Unauthorised field e.g
    Rank   Unauthorised
    1         A
    2         BC
    3         DF
    5         TD
    6         GF
    Then add "Rank" to the crostab Columns before the Unauthorised  field. Then you can control the sorting order on your crosstab.

  • Energy Cross Tab Report

    I have a client who wants to monitor thier energy usage. In particular he wants to know the peak demand, energy usage among other energy parameters. He also wants to display the time when the value was read by the meter
    All of this information is stored in a csv file which I can connect to Crystal Reports. My problem is I want to do Cross Tab report which gives me the "Maximum Demand" and the time it occured. In Cross Tab Report I can have it report the "Maximum Demand" but how do I display the time that it occured.

    I Grouped using this formula.   {@GROUPIT}
    if {Sheet1_.Two} in 0 to 200 then 1 else
    if {Sheet1_.Two} in 201 to 500 then 2 else
    if {Sheet1_.Two} in 501 to 999 then 3 else 4
    So all values from 0 to 200 are in group 1, and 201 to 500 are in group 2 etc.
    I then created a summary, of  maximum value for each of the groups.
    Created a formula
    Maximum ({Sheet1_.One}, {@GROUPIT})
    I placed the formula in the cross tab, and put the cross tab, in the group,
    Not sure if that is what you really want, but It should give you some ideas to try.

  • Calculations based on Summarized data in Cross Tab

    First off, I'm pretty experienced with Crystal.
    I've run accross something that seems like it should be realy easy to do, and the sort of thing you would expect to do  in a cross tab... so maybe I'm missing something totally obvious.
    I'm doing a year over year comparison of some financial data broken down by month and by quarter.
    So, my Rows are Quarter, and a field called 'YEARMONTH' (calculated field, YYYYMM, for ease of sorting)
    My column is Year, and for summarized fields, I have the data field I'm interested in which is a float. Let's call it 'Dollars' for sake of argument.
    What I want to do is create a summary field (next to the total field) called 'Difference' or 'Delta' that calculates for reach row the difference between my two years (2008, and 2009)
    The only solution I can come up with is to dummy in a record from the datasource with a year value of 'Difference' and some other dummy values so that it will show up as a column on the cross tab, and then somehow use the currentrowcolum function or some such creature to mask the output in the column. but now that I type it out here, I'm not sure it's going to work. I also don't think it's going to export the way I want it to either.
    I'd really prefer it to be in a cross tab, and not in some manually created cross-tab emulation using manual running totals, but I'll go there if I have to.

    I have a record  filtering problem. I tried many scenarios, and searched this forum but I cannot find an solution.
    I have a sub-report that contains a cross tab that provides a few summarized fields.
    I have two tables: a table with category of events : (field catID and Catname) and an event table with a CatID, a date field and others number field I use in the cross tab.
    I want my cross tab to show one row per category. The Catname and the summaries.
    Now all is working fine but for one issue. I need to select my event according to a time bracket.
    So I created two time parameters (start and end) and select the event dates between these two dates.
    Now, when selected, any category that does not have an event between these dates are not displayed. I would like them to be shown with "o" values.
    There must be a way of doing this. I just cannot find it.

    In order for Crystal to show data, it must be given data to show!
    You will need to base your subreport on an SQL Command.  In that command, put the current SQL used by the report.  To this, do a UNION to a select that selects the category name, and a zero for each field that you are summing in the crosstab.
    As a simplified example, suppose the original SQL was (MS SQL):
    select c.catname, sum(e.quantity) as Quantity
    from categories c, events e
    where c.catid = {?catid parm}
    and c.catid = e.catid
    and e.date between {?start} and {?end}
    This would be changed to
    select c.catname, sum(e.quantity) as Quantity
    from categories c, events e
    where c.catid = {?catid parm}
    and c.catid = e.catid
    and e.date between {?start} and {?end}
    UNION
    select c.catname, 0 as Quantity
    from categories c
    where c.catid = {?catid parm}
    This will return an additional zero record, regardless of what data the original query returns, thus giving Crystal the data needed to display.  Note that the zero value will not affect the results in any way, except causing a zero to be displayed if no data is returned from the original query.
    Just remember that the second SELECT in the UNION has to have the same number of fields, of the same data type, as the first SELECT.

  • Cross tab design : x position based on number of columns

    In my report, I have a group section for the country.
    For each country and in the group header, I have 2 cross tab.
    They have always the same number of columns (columns is period).
    But 2 country could have different number of periods.
    I need to have the 2d cross tab just near the 1st (right side) so I want to change x position of the 2d cross tab depending of the number of period.
    I have try to use GetNumColumns but it doesn't work (always not supported), this is the same for other grid value function.
    I'm not sure to understand why ...
    So I have tried to calculate the number of row , using another group (period), but I can't summarize in a header.
    I'm a little bit lost and need some new idea...
    For information, my reports are based on a simple mysql DB.

    hello, i see that no one has responded to your forum post...is this still an issue?
    in the Section Expert for the section where the cross-tabs are sitting, there is a Relative Positions checkbox wherein the cross-tabs will stay in a relative x postion to each other.
    e.g. if you are in design mode and the cross-tabs are 1/2 inch from each other, when previewed, the 2nd cross-tab will start 1/2 inch after the 1st one stops.
