Record sound and manipulate playback

Hi there,
we try to make a mobile app in which the user should be able to record a sound and after that it should automatically play that sound.
This should be possible but we want to transform the sound so the voice is "sweeter" (higher).
Is this possible?
Has anyone already made some experience with this?
Best
omi

recording sound its simple project. but it transformation may require some math skills because sound its numbers from -1.0 to 1.0

  • Loss of sound and video playback on ENVY X2

    Every so often, more often than I would like, my HP Envy X2 loses sound and video playback capabilities; any ideas anybody? The concept of this machine is great and have had it for the past 9 months but this loss of sound and vision is so unpredictable and frustating...

    Hi Brumage,
    I saw your post regarding the sound and video issues and I will be happy to help. Do you get any error messages when this happens? Have noticed if it is a particular site like YouTube or program that you are using when the issue occurs or does it occur on all programs? When you restarted the Envy X2 does the issue go away?
    I would start by suggesting that you make sure all updates have been installed through HP Support Assistant and Windows Update.
    What operating system are you running? What is your product number?

  • How can i record sound and save it in a file..?

    Can someone plz provide me a simple code for recording sound and saving it in a file..

    Nope...all of the code to do that is complicated...and since you apparently can't figure out google, I'm afraid you're likely out of luck.

  • Can't hear recorded sound during video playback

    I take a lot of videos of my kids.  I have noticed lately that the volume is low or muffled...you can't hear what is being said even if they are screaming 6 inches away.  I thought maybe something had gotten into the microphone, etc.  I recorded a voice memo and on playback i could hear what was recorded just fine at a normal level. Now once I tried to record a video of my kids talking, it played back so low that i can't hear anything and that is with the volume turned wide open.  Not really sure what this issue could be but if the volume works fine on voice memo wouldn't it work the same on video playback?

    Hi there AmPriSi,
    It sounds like you may be experiencing a microphone issue with your iPhone. Use the following article to help you address this issue:

  • Recording beta question - seeking in recorded streams and syncing playback

    hi lccs, some initial questions for you as i get started on the beta..
    you say audio and video are saved in separate FLVs on the client server.  does LCCS ensure that audio/video sync is maintained during playback?
    how are the recorded streams delivered during playback?  can you seek into these streams? e.g. if i have a recording of a video chat, can i use a timeline to seek forward and back through that video?
    and finally - i will want to play back a recorded audio video chat between two users.  will LCCS take care of synchronization between these four streams? (two video, two audio) or do i need to build a synchronized buffering strategy to achieve this?

    To reiterate Raff's point - when you setup a ConnectSessionContainer with a
    PlaybackAuthenticator (essentially, a "playback application"), that
    ConnectSession does all the work of synchronizing streams for you. As Raff
    says, you can build a timeline and seek within it - ConnectSession's
    archiveManager exposes all aspects of the playback to you.
    In fact, here's a basic seek bar you could try :
    <s:HSlider width="800" maximum="{cSession.archiveManager.totalTime}"
    value="{cSession.archiveManager.currentTime}" id="slider"
    change="cSession.archiveManager.seek(slider.value)"/>
    lastly, as Raff also says, you're not restricted to playing back the exact
    application you recorded. If you had, say, audio/video chat plus text chat
    recorded, and all you wanted for playback was the A/V, remove the text chat
    from your playback application (and delete the chat FLV from the recording
    zip, to save on bandwidth), and your playback app should just work. You can
    also totally re-layout how your app looks for playback as compared to
    "live", or allow your users to manipulate the layout or contents of what's
    being played back as they watch the recording. We think this will allow for
    some really interesting, innovative applications.
      hope that helps,

  • Can you record sounds and save as a ringtone with the IPhone4?

    I'm new to the IPhone. All other phones I' ve used in the past I could save sounds and use them as a ringtone. I just can't seem to figure it out with the I4. Can it be done?

    You can record sounds with the Voice Memos app, then sync them to your computer by selecting "Include voice memos" on the Music tab of y0ur iTunes sync settings and syncing your phone.  Once synced to your computer they will appear in a Voice Memos playlist that iTunes creates on the left sidebar.  Then you have to convert it to a ringtone using iTunes as shown here: Create free ringtones with iTunes 10.  After this is done, you can check the ringtone in your iTunes library, then check Sync Tones on the Tones tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync.  Custom ringtones will appear in Settings>Sounds>Ringtone at the top of the list.

  • Recording sounds garbled on playback

    I have a customer who is using QM to do their call recordings. Recordings are done at the desktop end, and transferred to the server nightly. The problem they are experiencing when the supervisor plays back a recording from the day before, about 1 in 10 recordings sound garbled. The problem with recording quality always happens after an internal transfer to another agent.
    For instance, an external caller talking to agent1 will sound perfectly fine. But when agent1 puts the caller on hold, and speak to agent2, the recording of both agent1 and agent2 degrades (similar to stuttering). When agent1 resumes call with caller again, the stuttering continues, with audio from caller being heard with a few seconds delay in response to agent1.
    They've had the QM installed abt 2-3 years ago, but issue only started happening 9 months ago. The issue is random, happens to some agents, and the time of recording is scattered throughout the day.
    Their LAN is very straight-forward, with separate vlans for voice and data. No SPAN/RSPAN is used. Agents are connected to various floor switches, which connects back to the core switch where the QM server, UCCX, CUCM, etc are connected to. All agents use IP handsets 7941 which is daisy-chained to their computers.
    Any ideas of where I can start looking into the issue?

    Hi Nisaar,
    No, I haven't found the cause for this recording quality issue yet. The problem happens not just on call transfers, it sometimes happens on calls from an external number, or internal calls. The IP phone makes a copy of the RTP and sends it on to the PC which is daisy-chained. The issue also happens when playback is direct from the PC on the day of recording, prior to transfer to the server. Therefore I can't see what can affect the recording other than the phone switchport, the ethernet cable between phone and PC, and the PC itself.
    I tried replicating the issue by making calls with high CPU usage and high network utilization, but was not able to replicate it. I've also checked phone settings, and it has audio packets marked with CS3 tags, and NIC has flow control enabled and priority&vlan enabled. I've gone through sqm logs and the recordings are marked for quality and archiving. I don't know where else to look.

  • Windows 8.1 Movie Maker Alone Does Not Record Sound (and never did)

    I am using Windows 8.1 and having audio problems with Windows Movie Maker.  The problem is that it will record visually but not audibly.  In other words, I record a video from my webcam, and my appearance is fine, but the audio is blank.
    Likewise, recording narration does not work either.
    I do not understand this, because I have used my webcam on skype, and youtube: the sound works fine.  I have checked the volume, I have checked recording devices, which all imply that recording is doing fine.  I checked video volume, everything
    was implied as fine.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Movie Maker.  I have had help from a computer friend and we looked at every avenue we could.  If someone could tell me what I need to do to make the audio work on Windows Movie
    Maker, I would appreciate it.  There may be some small thing we're missing.
    THERE A WEBCAM PROGRAM AS A DECENT ALTERNATIVE TO MOVIE MAKER THAT HAS THE OPTION OF RECORDING NARRATION AS WELL?  IS THERE SOMETHING I MISSED?  If someone could tell me something, I would appreciate it greatly.

    Hi,
    Go to sound Volume Mixer and see if Windows Movie Maker shows up and is not muted.

  • Glitches in recording, youtube and mp3 playback

    For two years now I've been struggling with this problem.  I record music with an RME Fireface to my Macbook Pro and very occasionally the recorded audio will have digital buzzes/glitches.  I've tried everything suggested on audio gear forums (larger buffer sizes, closing airport and open applications etc.).  It still does it, even on simple stereo recordings.  I've tried different DAW programmes and two different audio interfaces, updated/rolled back various drivers and firmware etc, etc.  The problem still persists.
    Another seemingly related problem is that Youtube videos very often play back with split seconds of silence every now and then, even when the video is fully loaded.  And more recently playing mp3s in iTunes *occasionally* glitches.
    From a process of elimination I can only assume the fault is in the Macbook's hard drive or RAM.  I took the Mac in a year ago because Techtool deluxe kept showing up a 'volume structure' error but they said don't worry about it.  However, now it seems like all this can't be coincidence!
    Has anyone else had this problem?  It's very frustrating given how smooth the Apple experience is meant to be...

    yeah you will have to cut it up, but you can run multiple playback instruments in the same patch so try layering them up that way.
    another workaround would be to have long gaps between sections, put markers in at the beginning of each section and then just use skip to next marker instead of triggering a new instrument.
    hope this helps

  • IOS 4.x Upgrade breaks sound and video playback

    Been fighting this issue for a while and I've hit a brick wall.
    Apparently upgrading a 2nd generation Touch to IOS 4.2.1 has broken audio and video play back.  My Touch will not play any sounds, music files, or videos, and it locks up when an alarm goes off.
    Thinking I could downgrade, I went through the motions of downloading a 3.x version of IOS as well as a copy of Tiny Umbrella.  The problem I have is to downgrade you have to save the SHSH blob (a software hash that identifies your device by chipset).  Supposedly a service called Cydia has SHSH blobs for iPhones and some iPod Touch devices, but there is no SHSH blob for my touch.  The bottom line is, I'm stuck.  My Touch is BROKEN, and Apple did it.
    So now the question is, will Apple fix this, or are they going to kick older Touch users to the curb?  Personally I think a class action suit is in order.
    Apple....  Are you listening?  I sure hope so, but looking at their past performance in customer support, I seriously doubt they give a hoot.

    Sending a message via feedback was next on my list.  It really is a shame that Apple is so paranoid and arrogant they can't give users a way to go back to a known good OS.
    There may be a lot of MS bashing going on, but as a former MS employee, I can say that MS always gives users a way to clean up after a bad install.   I know this to be true because I worked in Desktop Systems as a Customer Support rep. and my area of concentration was Setup and Install.
    I've been building my own desktop PCs since the first IBM clones hit the streets, and this episode with IOS 4.x gives me one more reason stick with what works and leave Apple's stuff alone.....

  • Sound and video playback

    I just got final cut pro and i've been using imovie for the longest time and I am used to just being able to press the play button and you can hear the song you'd add and everything. Now when i press play i'll hear either beeping or the audio from the video from my camera.
    How do I get the playback including the video and the song so I can see if everything's edited on beat?
    Thanks

    If you captured video and audio from your camera (you don't have to--you can uncheck the audio box in the log and capture window), they will show up as separate tracks in FCP.
    Now, if you import music from, let's say, a CD, and you want to use that with your video instead of the original camera audio, you can delete the original audio track from the timeline (the audio and video will have to be un-linked, first--there is a button in the upper right of the timeline that will do this).
    Next, when you add your music track to the timeline, it will need to be rendered, since FCP uses 48K audio, and the CD will be 44.1. That's why you are hearing the beeping.
    Select the new audio track, and hit command/r; once it's rendered, your video and audio should be OK for playback.

  • How to listen to music and record sound at the same time

    I want to figure out a way to record sound and listen to my music at the same time. Most recording apps stop my music when it starts to record and I can't find an app that does both. Any ideas?

    Not possible since the iPod only has one audio processor.

  • Draw an audio waveform from recorded sound

    I have problem with draw static waveform from recorded sound. Here is an example of which I wanted to use: http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Draw_an_audio_waveform_from_an_MP3_file-16767.html
    Here is an excerpt of my code, where the recorded sound, and I play it:
        public function startRecording():void
                    stop.enabled=true;
                    soundClip = new ByteArray();
                    microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone();
                    microphone.rate = 44;
                    microphone.gain = 100;
                    microphone.addEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, microphone_sampleDataHandler);
                public function stopRecording():void
                    play.enabled=true;
                    microphone.removeEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, microphone_sampleDataHandler);
                    level.width = microphone.activityLevel * 0;
                    level.height = microphone.activityLevel * 0;
                protected function microphone_sampleDataHandler(event:SampleDataEvent):void
                    level.width = microphone.activityLevel * 1;
                    level.height = microphone.activityLevel * 1;
                    while (event.data.bytesAvailable)
                        var sample:Number = event.data.readFloat();
                        soundClip.writeFloat(sample);
                public function startPlaying(soundClip:ByteArray):void
                    this.soundClip = soundClip;
                    soundClip.position = 0;
                                    sound = new Sound();
                    sound.addEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, sound_sampleDataHandler);
                    channel = sound.play();
                protected function sound_sampleDataHandler(event:SampleDataEvent):void
                    if (!soundClip.bytesAvailable > 0)
                        return;
                    for (var i:int = 0; i < 8192; i++)
                        var sample:Number = 0;
                        if (soundClip.bytesAvailable > 0)
                            sample = soundClip.readFloat();
                        event.data.writeFloat(sample);
                        event.data.writeFloat(sample);
    Is there any other way than to save the recorded sound as mp3 (which will also be complicated), or can I use this example given and work on ByteArray? I tried to redo it a little, I'm sitting on this already a lot of time and unfortunately to no avail. Any ideas? Tips?
    I would like to compare the recorded sound with the original. Draw waveform will be the first step. Maybe you also have some tips of how to compare the two sounds?
    I would be very grateful for every answer,
    Lilly
