Record voice... HOW?

I want to use a headset to record my voice but I also seems to record the surroundingsound . What to do??

You could use the built in microphone of the laptop, but it will sound pretty crappy for the most part. If you really want to do this, I would suggest getting an external microphone you can set up in front of him instead.
As to recording, you could use Garage Band, iMovie, and probably some other free programs you can download like Audacity.
Good luck,
Patrick

  • How can I turn a recorded voice into multiple voices that sound like a group of singers?

I'm using Logic Pro 9. Could someone teach me how to turn a single recorded voice into multiple voices that sound like a group singing together
by mixing or other techniques ? I don't have the luxury of a group singing together with me when I do recording. Advices would be much appreciated!

By far the most natural way to achieve this is for the singer to perform multiple takes - even if you've only one singer. At it's simplest, you could just double track the vocal part, although I prefer 3 parts - panned centre, left & right. Then repeat this process for each harmony, & mix accordingly.
Melodyne & some of the above methods do work on am single voice, but phase cancellation can be an issue if your not careful with each part's timing & panning. If you can only get a couple of decent takes from the singer, far better to perform any harmony/pitching techniques on the second take to avoid any phase issues. It's not uncommon for a singer to perform each vocal part 5-10 times, then comp (edit) the best takes so that you end up with 3 decent takes.
If you've only only one voice to work with Antares Harmony EFX is a useful alternative.

  • How Do I Add A Pre-recorded Voice Over to an iMovie Project?

I have an audio file with the voice over I want to add to my movie project (which has an insturmental music track I want to duck during the voice over). How can I add this pre-recorded voice over track to my project?

You can drag in the voiceover file and drop it on top of the clip where you want it to start. It does not have to be perfectly placed, because you can fine tune it later by dragging.
I would suggest putting your voiceover file in iTunes and dragging in from the music browser, but it also works to drag in from the Finder. If you drag in from the Finder, you must take care not to move it later, or the iMovie Project will not be able to find it.

  • How to remove 'tik tik' sound while recording voice/vocal.

I'm trying to record voice/talk for a radio show using GB app. Everytime I hit record button is records fine but also record TIK TIK sound continuously through out the recording session. I don't know what this sound is. I'm just using headphone mic. I don't have any other mic to attach.
    Thanks!

I don't think we have these options here
I don't have the iPhone, but probably the iPod is similar:
Try to press the cogwheel at the upper right of the screen. Go to the "Song" settings, not the "track" settings.
The Metronome is the top most option.

  • Nokia 2125 - How to transfer a recorded voice?

Hi all, I didn't find by using the Nokia PC suite 6.86.9.3 a way to tranfer the recorded voices from my phone to my PC. Is there any way to do it?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your try, but I think your are not so "Mobile Guru" for this model 2125 and PC suite version I mentioned. Just kidding. Well, the PC Suite browser doesn't show any folder related to the recorded voices and all the other folders doesn't have any file related to a sound and the phone still has the voices recorded on it.

  • My iPhone 4S has stopped recording voice mail messages. How can I fix?

My iPhone 4S (sprint) has stopped recording voice mail messages. The phone is 2 months old and it stopped about a month ago, but it took me several weeks to realize that there was a problem as I initially thought that callers just weren't leaving a message. I have now tried to leave myself voice messages and confirmed that it's showing up as a voice mail but failing to record it. Has anyone ever encountered this problem and if so, what is the fix?

No iPhone records voicemail messages.  Visual voicemail is simply an interface to the carriers voicemail servers.
Contact the carrier to troubleshoot the issue with their voicemail.

  • Record Voice in Flex Using Red5

Can any1 post me the code for recording voice in flex using
red5 or else brief me the procedure how to record voice in flex
    using red5.....

I think a Flash media Server could handle this.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/
Flex does have controls for Microphone and Video capture, but
it doesn't have any way of handling/storing that data without a
media server as far as I know.
Maybe someone has an alternative solution.

  • I use Garageband 09 to record voice overs via podcasting, female narrator noisy, but keep getting an intermittent clicking sound. It's not the metronome. I have a good quality external USB mic plugged in. Any ideas?

I use GarageBand 09 to record voice overs via the Podcasting then Female Narrator Noisy utility. I have a good quality external mic plugged in. I keep getting an intermittent clicking sound on the audio track. It's not the metronome as that is turned off. I have to edit out the clicking after recording. I can see the spikes on the waveline. Any ideas how I can prevent this happening?

Hi again and thanks so much for replying.
The 'mic jack' on the old mic is both wide and large, measuring about an inch and a quarter from the base (where it comes out of the black encasing) to the edge of the tip (sort of cone shaped). As I can't plug this in directly to any port in the back of the Mac, I thought it might be possible to to buy some sort of adapter so that I could plug in the jack at one end, with a USB connector at the other end to go straight into the Mac. But I see from your comment that you are suggesting a smaller jack itself (i.e., large size jack to small size jack and then plug in to the small round port, instead of jack to USB port)?
At the Mac shop I bought a USB adapter to connect up a second monitor (screen). I've just dug out the package and it's called a mini display port to VGA adapter. But back to the mic issue, I don't want to use the old mic really, I'm just trying to eliminate whether or not my usual mic, or its USB cable, is at fault and causing the clicking.
I looked on Amazon for a suitable adapter but there was mention of these little gadgets having a sound card. As the Mac obviously has its own internal sound card, I couldn't see the point of another (exernal) one, unless it was actually required to convert the sound from input to output (playback) or something. One review said sound quality was lost but the person had a problem with his speakers, not a ticking sound while playing back recordings - which is obviously my problem.
I do have a headset that I used to use for Skype. It has a pink and a green jack. I could plug one into the "headphones symbol' port and try recording again with Garageband. At least the jack is the right size. Again, this is just for the purpose of eliminating whether my good mic on a stand with the anti-popping sheild is at fault.
While my Mac does have both inbuilt speakers (I don't need external ones) and an inbuilt microphone, the latter is not of a high enough quality for voice overs, hence buying an external mic etc. But whatever is causing the clicking or ticking is obviously affecting the quality of my recordings. As you can imagine, it is very time-consuming to edit out the ticking spikes and if the noise appears during speech, you can't edit it out at all.
Please keep the suggestions coming. I am determined to get to the bottom of this for my sake and everyone else who is suffering from the same problem!

  • Record voice over in 10.2.

How do I record voice over in iMovie 10.0.5? I cannot find the microphone icon!

Do you have an iPhone? IF so, use the Voice Memo app which comes default with all iPhones and record the narration. Tip: make multiple attempts as you'll need the find the balance of speaking tone/volume compared to how close you speak to your iPhone. Also, be sure to record your narration when there is no other background noise.
Then sync your iPhone to your iTunes; your voice memo clip should be stored in Voice Memo playlist within iTunes. Once the voice memo clip is in iTunes, go and import the voice audio narration clip into your iMovie project....presto.

  • Recording voice only

I want to record voice only files on Garageband using the microphone input on the back of my imac. This should be pretty basic - no metronome, no other background sounds. How do I do this? Some instruction will be helpful.

Can I record voice notes/memo with my ipod video and how ?

You need one of the iPod-compatible microphones, you'll get more information on this page: iPod: Recording voice memos

  • Recording Voice

I'm trying to record voice using Soundtrack. Two problems: 1. How do you control input level and monitor it before recording? 2. I'm using the iMac's built in microphone, and have a Buzz in the monitoring and recording...what's wrong?

I've answered my question myself. Forget using the built-in mic. Use an external mic. In the main imac preferences, set for "line-in" and set input gain level there. Then, when you're in Soundtrack, it automatically uses the external input.
The gain slider control is still grayed-out, but you've already set that. And, if you're using an external mixer, as I am, you can control input gain there too.

  • External microphone for recording voice memos on iPhone?

I have a video iPod and a plug in microphone to record voice memos. It's high quality and I love it. Is there one for the iPhone?

Not that I am aware of.

  • Video Apps record voice mumbled. Voice memos are fine.

    Hello.
I recently noticed that the microphone on my iPhone 4S is not working right. I can record voice just fine. Issue is only when I am using a Video recorder or an app such as Facetime. Sound sounds really mumbled and the audio can hardly be heard. iPhone is about 3 months old. Any ideas ?

The top mic is faulty. Blow out the pin hole next to the headphone jack hole. You have Warranty, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If you are adventurous, take a straightened small staple and clean the small hole out.
