Recording cd's for a band?

Hey guys.
we've just formed a band, and we gotta start recording ourselves for demo cd's and whatnot.
Any products we can use to record a singer, bassist, 2 guitarists, and a drummer?
or do we have to get a studio?
anyone have experience recording onto a computer?

There are lots of products out there -- I'm guessing you'd want
something in a 6-8 channel Firewire or USB audio interface box
with mic preamps and high-impedance instrument inputs. Here

    Hello...I have a Blue Snowball microphone, IMAC, and Garage Band 3.0.2.
    I would like to record phone interviews in Garage band and be able to keep the incoming call at a high enough and clear enough level. So I am not to loud and they are not to low.
    This wil be or a podcast.
    Please help, any ideas?

    There's cheap telephone interfaces at Radio Shack (you might do a search in this forum, they have been mentioned before) which plug into the Mac's line-in. Since the Snowball is USB, you can go to the Audio-Midi Utility and create an "Aggregate Device" that consists of your line-in and your Snowball - that way you can record the two sources to two separate tracks and adjust their levels independently.

  • Audio-In for Garage Band on new 13" MBP?

    The new 13" MBP's have a combined audio in/out port on the side, unlike the larger models which have separate input and output ports. Is it possible to configure Garage band to take input from a guitar connected to this port (with suitable adapter)? I have tried but got no result. Maybe there is something in the settings that I missed.

    I'm guessing that the adapter you've tried is a 'stereo' mini-plug with three contact bands instead of four.
    By observation, Apple earphones _with microphone_ designed for newer MacBook Pros (and iPods that allow recording) have a fourth contact band on the mini-plug.
    You may also need to go to system preferences and change sound preferences to select input.
    An alternative would be a USB audio device designed for input from your guitar.

    Through <b>FBL5N</b>, you have to select "<b>Cleared items</b>" with "from to date" and execute.
    You will get a list which can then be downloaded as excel by selecting "List" on top left followed by "export" and "spreadsheet".

    I'm using the Oracle Web ADI (11i) to upload journal entries form a spreedsheat to GL.
    When the request is finished, this message is shown on the out put :
    Journal Import finds no records in GL_INTERFACE for processing.
    Check SET_OF_BOOKS_ID, USER_JE_SOURCE_NAME, and GROUP_ID of import records.
    If no GROUP_ID is specified, then only data with no GROUP_ID will be retrieved.  Note that most data
    from the Oracle subledgers has a GROUP_ID, and will not be retrieved if no GROUP_ID is specified.
    Can you help me to reslove it.

    let me put it this way.
    1. An additional record is created in ar_payment_schedules_all whenever an invoice, CM, DM or receipt is created.
    2. when a receipt is applied to an invoice, the application records are created in ar_receivable_applications_all, linked to payment_schedule id of receipt record in ar_payment_schedules_all.
    what I want is:
    customer_id, site_id, and balance amount (i.e. customer collection data) for only those transactions(INV, PMT, CM, DM) that have been posted to GL. (transaction info is not needed.)
    but since the master tables for INV and PMT are different, I need to check in different tables whether the transactions is posted or not.
    so I used a union between two queries (one fetching INV, CM, DM's posted data and other fetching PMT's posted data).
    I think this is similar to your suggestion.

    i'm trying to create a recording in SHDB for transaction FPRW marking the checkbox "simulate background mode".  When i press the buttom "start recording" i recieve the error message >6 117  Mass activity type  does not exist.
    Does somebody know what can i do?

    The obvious way to resolve this on a computer would be to uninstall the app, then reinstall it, however on an iOS device that would cause all the data assoicated with the app to be thrown away.
    Make sure your iTunes library has the latest updates for all your apps, then backup and restore the device. This should pull back a fresh copy of the app from your iTunes library and then give it the data from your device backup.

  • Condition record not pulled for all material

    Hi,
    I have three materials in sales order. now, for each material , I am maintaining some condition record in VK11. the problem i face is, if in case I don't maintain condition recrod for condtion ZCD1 for the first material A in sales order, the condtion records that I have maintain for the same condtion ZCD1 for the following materials are also not getting pulled. that's true for all conditiond in my pricing procedure. only those conditions for which system could find records for the first material, it pulls it for all other materials that follow material A in sales order. otherwise, system gives the messgae " condition record has been found but not set "
    what could be the reason? this is certainly not the standard behavior.

    I have checked this with creating new records for all material for all condtions. but, it is possible that a particular price condtion may not be maintained for the first material and which can very well be maintained for the folllowing materials. in that case, they are not pulled. the records are there for sure for other materials as 1) i could see them in VK13 and 2) the condition analysis tells me that condtion record is found but not set. no clue what it has got anything to do with first material..as soon as i maintain that condtion for first material (even zero value in Vk11), they start appearing for other materials as they are maintained.

    Please consider using a check table for the characteristic involved if you are working with large
    number of values assigned
    With a check table you have a possibility to work with a huge amount of values , also the performance should improve

    While Adding APInvoice got copied from GRPO shows NoMatching Records Found (OACT) GLAccounts -2028 for a user for a particular document series. For the same user, for different docseries, APInvoice(Copy from GRPO) can able to add. Also, the same document showing error can be added by user having FullAuthorization.
    Also Direct APInvoice without copy from GRPO can be add.
    What might be the problem?
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Records Management   -   Adapter for UCM

    Hi there,
    I am having troubles understanding how the Records Management Adapter for UCM works:
    1. I have installed URM on a separate instance and have defined retention categories there.
    2. I installed the Adapter on a UCM instance and pointed it to the URM instance.
    3. It copied the categories over BUT
    4. Only those categories that allow for non-record items show up in the LifeCycle field as the view of the field does filter out all other categories.
    So I have not figured out how I can make a content item a record. It that possible at all. Or does this set up of
    - one URM instance and
    - a second UCM + Adapter instance
    only support lifecycle management?

    I am having troubles with the Records Management Adapter for UCM too. Also i am having troubles to defined retention categories and configure the retention schedules too. The documentation is not helping in anything about this troubles. Does anyone knows some better documentations about that?? Thanks a lot!!

  • Records Management: Model for customer - project - records hierarchy

    starting with RM I just created a static structure for customer data. This works pretty well at the beginning level.
    Now I would like to add a hierarchy to the customer data. The next level in the structure should be projects with the project that are associated with the customer. The projects are managed with PS. So every time a PSP element is created on a special level will automatically create some model nodes with elements (offer, order, .. ). Under the level of the projects there should be records like offer, order, ..
    Could someone could give me some hints how to solve this, please? What is the best practice for something like that?

    Dear Vanessa,
    Unfortunately, we have not been able to get an exclusive forum for RM hence, a post anywhere with Records Management or Case Management will be good(I generally search for questions on these keywords).
    For your question - adding a new sub-structure to the same record or case everytime there is a project etc is created is technically not feasible. Even if you make this feasible by programming it will be very difficult to maintain. I would recommend to have an object(record or case) for every sub-structure that needs to be created with a separate record model for the sub-structure.
    For eg - if you need to create & add a new sub-project to a main project every time for an event, then instantiate an object(record/case) & then add it to the project record.
    Some points to consider - recommendation is to not to have more than 1000 objects linked to any one folder as after that time consumed to expand the folder becomes visibly high for the user.

  • How to get full sound library for Garage Band

    I recently purchased the upgrade for Garage Band on my 06 iMac.  I received a huge library of sounds with the upgrade.  However, two days later, we had a power spike and I lost that computer.  So - I bought a New MacBook Pro Retna with the latest version of Garage Band on it, however, it is missing what seems likes hundreds of real instrument sounds.  Any suggestions?  Can't seem to find a way to downlod all thode extra great sounds like strings and sound FX.

    What kind of upgrade did you buy? Jam Packs for GarageBand, like "Symphony Orchestra"? They are not included in the preinstalled version that comes with a new mac.

    Are loops missing or instruments? If loops are missing, do they appear to greyed out in the loop browser? If they are greyed out, have you pressed the little arrow to the right of the loop name, to download the additional content?
    To be able to download the additional content, you have to accept the preinstalled iLife to your AppleID at the AppStore. Sign into the AppStore, go to the "Purchased" tab - "Accept" section, and press the "Accept" button for your iLife apps.
