Recording with multiple steps captures in 1 slide!

Hi,
I've been recording Captivate demos for the last few days with no issues. Today, I launch Captivate, preceed to record and when I hit "End", Captivate edit screen shows 1 single slide! It captures the last action, which is clearly not enough. Whats going on? I didn't change any settings...

Hi Friends,
I want to create a report(Ex: ZREP) that will run another program(Ex: ZPGM) in background. What I need to do is, when I execute the report ZREP it should run the ZPGM automatically in background. This background execution should happen through JOB with multiple steps.
Why i am mentioned steps is, i have 1000 records in ZTABLE and need to execute 100 records each in one step and need to proecess in ZPGM with selection parameters. So in my case my job should create with 10 steps and need to execute in sequential manner.
FYI, In the ZREP selection screen i need to enter the records count/ interval to derive the job steps.
Please guide how to go ahead? Thanks in advance for all the help.

Recording with multiple instances of audition 3.01

Hello again.
Recently I upgraded a few machines from windows xp and audition 1.5 to Vista and audition 3.01
The most glaring difference now seems to be when our users have multiple audition windows open in 1.5 all recording from the same audio source.
The board ops might have 3 instances running so they can capture "highlights" and while they are editing a particular piece of audio the other instances are still recording.
I have the setting unchecked that releases the asio driver when the window is not in focus.
But when you start the record button on a second instance both recordings stop
Is there a way to set up version 3.01 to do this or will I have to go back to using v1.5?

ATM I am using USB Creative Labs sound cards. These machines are used for simple "Highlight capture" for sporting events. No actual asio drivers just the standard WDM drivers that came with the sound device. (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Sound Card | Creative Labs Online Store)
Eventually I will be upgrading these to http://www.bswusa.com/USB-Interfaces-Henry-Engineering-USB-Matchbox-II-P2601.aspx for direct interface into our mixing boards.

Schedule Jobs with multiple steps via ABAP Program

Hi,
I need to schedule multiple programs via background jobs on a daily basis. Since all these jobs are to be run as a single job, the various programs have to be run as steps in a major job.
I am however not very clear on how this can be done via an ABAP program ( the idea of a program is that various parameters to be passed to each program in the step can be entered dynamically rather than via variants).
I am using the JOB_OPEN and JOB_CLOSE functions and submitting the programs with selection screen parameters dynamically passed to create a job. I need to do this for various programs as a job step (WITHOUT Variants being defined).
Can anyone suggest any ideas for this? I have tried out JOB_SUBMIT Function but am not very confident I know what exactly it is for as it asks for a variant.

Hi Preet,
just to be sure: you know, that variants can be dynamical, too?
It's quite usual to assign dynamical current date, but it's also possible to add / subtract value and even define own functionality.
Maybe it's easier to implement a dynamical selection and handle static jobs.
If you try to plan a job (online or with JOB_SUBMIT), you have to use variants - you can create (or change) them dynamical in beforehand. Only SE38, F8, F9 is creating a temporary variant, so that no saved variant is necessary.
But if you end up creating variants dynamical, you can change one existing variant, too. Then you can use a static job definition (with periodical starting rule).
So: have a look, if dynamic variants are enough, otherwise change variants per job.

LSMW Recording with multiple lines

I am creating a recording in LSMW for VA02 - Change Sales Order. My source file contains several lines from the same sales order, the sales order number is maintained in one of the columns. The order originates from an IDOC LSMW I will run ahead of the recording. When running batch input the recording only seem to apply to one line.
Is there any way to make the recording take the rows and item number into consideration and give me input for all line items?

A recording is static, if you record maintenance of 1 line, you get only one line per order.
If you record 2 lines then you get only 2 lines, and in case you have only 1 line in the source you even get a problem in loading.
For a flexible requirement you cannot use a static recording.
Use the SAP given methods to be flexible.
They provided a direct input, Object 0090 Method 0000 program RVINVB10
and there is also a IDoc with message type SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2
and a BAPI BUS2032

Info records with multiple vendors

I have some info records defined for multiple vendors for subcontracting material numbers. How do I tell SAP to use a specific vendor by default when it creates the Purchase Requisition?

Hi,
If you have maintained source list(ME01) and "info record"(ME11) for the desired vendor and material combination and MRP indicator as 1 . It will default as "fixed vendor" in PR when you run MRP. Of course when you copy PR into PO, it is going to copy the same.
if you want to create Subcontract PR ...you have to use special procurement key 30 for that material.

Defining Job with multiple steps

This is a general question on SM36.
I have 4 programs that need to run as part of a job. I do not want this as a periodic job because these 4 steps needs to be done by the user when needed.
I defined a job and created 4 steps and saved. system showed the job is scheduled and then I released it. All the 4 steps ran successfully.
Now if I want to run again the same job, system is prompting me to create the steps again. I do not want to do that every time i want to run the job. how can I save this 4 steps under a job and just call the job name to schedule immediately on demand/when needed?

Create the job, leave the job with a status of 'scheduled' (no start conditions).
When the user wishes to run the job: SM37 > select your job; then Job > repeat scheduling. The user will have to determine the trigger; presumably it will be 'Immediate'; however, any of the normal selections are possible.
This activity will start a copy of your scheduled job. Your job remains with a status of scheduled.
Since it is so easy for a user to make a mistake and inadvertently release your job, you might want to create a backup copy. SM37 > select your job; then Job > copy. This will give you a screen where you can create a copy of your job, but with a new name, such as <yourjobname>_BAK.

It would have been more helpful if you had shown me your existing code. However, this shows the basic principles.
First of all, the name of each input field in the form needs to end in an empty pair of square brackets like this:
<input type="text" name="field_name[]" . . .
This results in $_POST['field_name'] being treated as an array of the values in each input field. Change field_name to the actual name of the input field. Without the square brackets, only the last value is submitted by the form.
The Insert Record server behavior code looks like this:

Any ideas on a cleaner way to write this? - run through a function with multiple steps; if any step fails, restart the function from the begining

Basically there are 3 different functions for various "tests"; they each return "1" if the test passes and "0" on failure. A "master" function calls these 3 functions in the desired order and keeps a counter
of tests that pass. The counter has to be 1 to proceed to step 2, has to be 2 to proceed to step 3, and when it's 3 the loop closes.
This approach is giving the expected results, but I was wondering if anyone has ideas on a cleaner approach? What I really wanted to accomplish was to have the 3 tests past in succession and to provide an overall pass and proceed to the next step;
and also to exit the function if any step fails rather than running through each step before trying again. If the script were to for example loop through the 3 tests and wait until each one passes, tests 1 and 2 might pass, but then 3 might fail
a few times and finally pass before the script exits. I did not want to allow for that scenario to count as an overall pass.

i think you mean that you want to process first the 1st record of file1 with transaction 1 than 1st record of file 2 with transaction 2
This is possible using recordings(as you asked for).
First Maintain Object Attributes then mark batch input recordings and maintain recordings name.
On the right side are two buttons one for overviewing recordings and one for maintaining more recordings.
Here enter your additional recordings.
Now specify for each recording a own Source Structure and
maintain the Structure Relations and so on...
If you just want to do 1st transaction with all records of file1 than 2nd transaction use three different LSMWs.
You can automize the process by using Data Transfer Workbench(SXDA).

Captivate 5.5 Question: We seem to be having an issue with the screen capture piece not recording "everything".
We're running 5.5 as an administrator on Windows 7 and my co-worker is trying to capture a webinar (GoToMeeting) with Captivate and it is not recording anything in the GTM window, except the last slide. Anyone have this problem or know a fix? Not much is mentioned in the Adobe forums.

Captivate simply doesn't 'hear' some screen events on certain applications and you just need to resort to doing manual captures at these points.
I usually set up my manual capture button to be F2 so that I can hit it with my left hand while my right hand is on the mouse navigating through the task.

user to enter multiple P or M variations all at once, say 1 AB 2 P1 thru

using a dialog box where they enter the starting number, ending number
and step.
The problem comes in the AddRecordsToSave method.
This method correctly builds the array of BusinessClass needed to be
passed to the Save method, however, the Save method adds only the
initial record (the one from the original Express data entry screen)
to the database.
I have traced the problem to the BusinessClient.Update method called
from
Save. I believe I am missing some query information that should be
built into
AddRecordsToSave, but I am completely unsure of how to provide this.
As you can see in the attached code, we are using the LogAttr method to
post
changes. Apparently this is not enough. What am I missing here?
The InstanceStatus key of the added records is set to ST_EMPTY by
default....
I have tried forcing this to ST_UPDATE, only to receive an error that it

If attr is not specified in your LogAttr() call, the
BusinessClass
will be put in the update state but not attributes will
be logged.
That may be the reason why only the displayed record(
fetched from
the DB ) is getting logged, but not the new records.
I think you should use ATTR_SIMPLE with LogAttr. This
will cause
all the attributes to be logged and a proper query to
be built
to insert the newly created record. I am no Express
Guru,
but it works fine for me. Also, try not to modify
InstanceStatus directly.
Sometimes it might lead to inconsistencies. The online
help
The Add Records to Save example really helps.
