Recover failing

After I wiped my disk and updated my OS, I reinstalled
Dreamweaver/Fireworks/Flash using recover files (Recover
Dreamweaver.exe, Recover Flash.exe, etc.) Everything worked except
for Flash, which does the download and then gives me the error
"2004 Validation error" and crashes out of the reinstall process.
I know the easy way out of this is to upgrade to CS3, and
that's my plan, but right now I have to finish a project and just
want to get the old version of Flash up and running. Anybody have
an ideas on why this is happening? It's Flash MX.
Thanks.
Jon

Is there any activity which is physically opening this file or some process that is reading this file in edit mode?

  • Issues trying to recover failed Exchange Server 2013 in a DAG

Having several issues attempting to recover a failed Exchange Server 2013. To start out, the failed server was mounted on a virtual server using hyper-v. The virtual server failed due to some hard drive partition issues and would no longer boot. As there
really was no purpose to having Exchange on a Virtual Server I decided to rename the host to the same name as the virtual server. I reset the name in AD and proceeded to rename the server. Then made sure all the necessary things were installed and proceeded
to do a recovery installation. I neglected to properly delete the old databases belonging to that server. I simply deleted the files off the hard drive instead of doing it properly. I should mention this is a two node plus witness server installation. Now,
it seems I cannot delete the former server in either ECP or command line. I have attempted to clean up the mess with the old databases but there is one that was mounted only on the failed server that I cannot remove. It seems until I can remove that, I cannot
remove the failed server from the DAG and do a recovery install. The steps shown in the tech net articles to remove a failed database have also failed. At this point I am wondering if I should just give up on the server name and do an install on a new server
name or if someone can give me some information on how to clean up the mess, that would be better I am sure. Here is a list of the things I have tried.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876880(v=exchg.150).aspx and in this article, the item mentioned is not in ADSIedit.

Thank you for your answer. Running that command results in the following:
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Remove-MailboxDatabase "Mailbox Database 0939719168"
This mailbox database contains one or more mailboxes, mailbox plans, archive mailboxes, public folder mailboxes or
arbitration mailboxes. To get a list of all mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database"Mailbox Database 0939719168". To get a list of all mailbox plans in this database, run the command Get-MailboxPlan. To get a list of
archive mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database 0939719168" -Archive. To get a list of all
public folder mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database 0939719168" -PublicFolder. To get a
list of all arbitration mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database 0939719168" -Arbitration.
To disable a non-arbitration mailbox so that you can delete the mailbox database, run the command Disable-Mailbox
<Mailbox ID>. To disable an archive mailbox so you can delete the mailbox database, run the command Disable-Mailbox
<Mailbox ID> -Archive. To disable a public folder mailbox so that you can delete the mailbox database, run the command
Disable-Mailbox <Mailbox ID> -PublicFolder. Arbitration mailboxes should be moved to another server; to do this, run
the command New-MoveRequest <parameters>. If this is the last server in the organization, run the command
Disable-Mailbox <Mailbox ID> -Arbitration -DisableLastArbitrationMailboxAllowed to disable the arbitration mailbox.
Mailbox plans should be moved to another server; to do this, run the command Set-MailboxPlan <MailboxPlan ID>
    -Database "Mailbox Database 0939719168".

  • Step to Recover Failed Database Move

    Hi All,

How do i recover if the move failed in the middle or verse case scenario? what is the basic steps.

    Hi,
You can restore mailbox database from backup, however, when restoring Exchange data, all backed up databases must be restored together. You can't restore a single database.
To restore the individual database, you can refer to the workaround provided in the following article.
You cannot restore an individual database by using Windows Server Backup in Exchange 2010 or in Exchange Server 2007

  • 3GS recovering fails shortly before end

My iphone worked fine without any problem. I didn't take care for a second and hit against the front side of the phone. The glass was still ok but the touch screen underneith showed some markings in the right lower edge of the display. All functions were ok, also the touch screen worked fine with the only problem that I could see the screen information in the area of the markings.
I had no time to give the phone to maintenance (for changing the screen) and continued to use it for some weeks. Suddenly the phone felt into maintenance mode (the mode with the apple logo in the middle and the information to recover is with itunes).
I connected it to itunes, the phone has been recognized and itunes informed my that the phone has to be reseted (recovered). I confirmed this and the normal process started without problem. At the very end of the recovering process (the with line is 99% complete) there is no more progress. It takes some time (the software seems to try to complete the recovering) and then there is a message that the recovering was not successful.
I tried this with several different computers, new itunes installation, XP, Vista, Windows 7. Everywhere the same result.
Are the any ideas how I can bring the phone back to life?

Hi David, I am not really sure what you meant by recovering your lost files, either before or after the Leopard upgrade. But I would advice, and anyone would do the same, is that before you perform a major OS upgrade, it is prudent and important, in fact, a MUST, that you back up all your current data to another disk... that is the "full assurance", if you can clone your entire drive to another, using utility like SuperDuper, so in the event when your upgrade/install fails, you can rely on your back up.
I guess that is one way of recovering your lost files.
After you have successfully install and run Leopard, I also encourage you to use Leopard's Time Machine, which requires another hard drive other than the internal to "act" as a back up drive, so if you have a "single drive" macs like the iMac, Mac mini and the portables, then you will need an external drive to be the designated Time Machine drive, by using Time Machine, you can also recover lost files in a much simpler and easy way. SuperDuper is currently not completely compatible with Leopard, so you should use Time Machine instead
    Cheers

I'm checking the sequences of the archivers, and seems that rman is asking for old archivers.

  • Recover fails on Satellite A85

I'm using the disc provided with purchase and have run the recovery.  The process seems to go alright and the files are all copied.  i get a message to remove the disk from the cd drive and press any key.  Then all I get is a black screen with blinking cursor in the upper right corner.  Computer is stuck there and also returns to that screen when I try to restart.  can anyone help?

Does it ever progress past that screen, or is it permanently stuck there? Is this after POST(and the Toshiba splash screen), and can you get to advanced boot options(accessed by pressing F8 while booting).

  • Datafile was corrupted

    After accident and wrong operating,
a datafile in oracle database was corrupted and replaced
with older file, so this datafile's checkpoint_chang# number
was lower than other datafiles. Recover fail because database
run in NOARCHIVELOG mode, and this datafile' checkpoint_change#
is out of range of online redo log. There is NO backup file of
other datafiles, so other datafiles could not be restored with
    older files.
Is there any way that can simply change a datafile's
checkpoint_change# number, make it same as other datafile,
and take it online, then open the database?
(Data in this datafile has no reference relation
with data in other datafile, so I think taking it
online will not break reference consistency)
    null

As I believe as per my knowledge that checkpoint# cannot be amended by the user , this activity taken care of by oracle itself.
Since your database in NoArchivelog mode so recovery also not possible. I have one option (basically R & D) that if your database activity is not much high and your redolog files are large enough i.e. they have not overwriiten till now after the problem then bring your database open using archivelog mode and then apply the recovery using these log files. Although Task is critical , so make your backups completely before moving this.
Otherwise if you are ready to loose the data of datafile which is old one then you can create new datafile with the same name at the same location and startup your database.
Better if you do these two options in Temporary database then finally applied to production.
Kindly do let me know at my id if things work or U have some other option.

  • Batch File Commands

    Hi,
I have my oracle database with following details:
    OS- Windows 2003 R2 64-bit
    DB- Oracle 10g R2 Enterprise Editiion 10.2.0.1.0
I want to run a scheduler on OS Level such that it moves the archives log created one hour before the runtime to different location. For example:- If the batch file is scheduled to run at 5:00 pm, it must move all the archivelogs created uptil 4:00 pm to seperate location.
Please help me how to do it ? I m stuck at how to mention time of creation of all the files.
    Thanks
    Vinita

1º Sunday you do a backup.
2º Monday you move archive log.
3º Tuesday you move archive log.
4º Wednesday you move archive log.
    5º Thursday database crash.
1º Restore database from backup of sunday
2º Recover database... ops, you need all archive logs on his dest... recover fails...
3º You try to move all archive logs to original dest but you don't have space...
4º You find a dest with enough space to move all archivelog and recover database.
I don't know about your scenario but there is not a good backup polity move the archivelog with Os commands. I suggest:
1º Sunday you do a full RMAN backup.
2º Monday you do a incremental RMAN backup. With delete noprompt archivelog all backed up 1 times to device ....
3º Tuesday you do a incremental RMAN backup. With delete noprompt archivelog all backed up 1 times to device ....
4º Wednesday you do a incremental RMAN backup. With delete noprompt archivelog all backed up 1 times to device ....
    5º Thursday database crash. Use Rman Restore Database; Recover Database;
You also can use rman backup archivelog with delete noprompt archivelog all backed up 1 hourly.
. :-) Any help with my english will be welcome :-).

  • Trying to rebuild L350-10L

On startup the laptop goes to a 'disk read error', press ctrl-alt-del, so F8 has no effect. I can get to the Vista Recovery Environment using a Vista install disk from another machine, but system recover fails.
I have also looked at the drive in another machine and can see the HDDRecovery on the 'D' partition.
    1. Is there a way to start the HDD Recovery from a command prompt, after having booted in the Vista Recovery Environment?
    2. Failing that, is there a way to create the recovery disk from the HDDRecovery Folder while the HDD is in a new machine?
    Thank you,
    Martin

Two steps forward, one and half steps back....
Booting from a Vista DVD, I managed to get to the WinRE partition and change the partition to type 17, but it had no effect, I was still getting disk read errors and pressing 0 / F8 had no effect, so I returned to partition to type 27.
I then removed the HSR attributes from bootmgr renamed it bootmgr.old and copied across a new version from the HDDRecovery\ODDFiles directory  and reset the HSR attributes.
This time I could boot, but it took me directly into Startup Repair. I then ran Toshiba HDD Recovery. This seemed to run successfully, but on reboot it once again went into Startup Repair again and came up with Windows cannot repair this computer automatically. Looking at the diagnosis and repair details each individual test completed successfully and returned error code 0x0, with a summary
    Root cause found
    Failure while setup in progress
However if I then went onto advanced options and ran Startup Repair from there, it reports Startup Repair could not detect a problem. In addition the summary is
    Root cause found
Boot status indicates that the OS booted successfully.
Rebooting the machine just keeps returning me to the Startup Repair, even if I try safe mode (F8 is working again)
Where can I go from here?
    Thanks
    Martin

To recover from this I gave the following command:
    mpwrp> RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE FINISH;
    Media Recovery Completed
    mpwrp> Alter database commit to switchover to primary;
    Database Altered
But when I checked for archive log sequence, it gave max(sequence#) -63908,
But when I gave alter system switch logfile on mpwrp, it restarted the sequence from 1 ...
Why did it happened ? What implication may I face of this archive log sequence getting restarted ?

    Recreated the DG SETUP
