Recover password method

Hi
I'm developing an application (Apex 3.1.2 / 11g) where I'm using a table based authentication with hashed password (+based on Apress Pro Application Express+)
I would like to add an option to recover password. I believe that the best way to do it, is having some kind of generator that send a new password to the user, and then the user have the change to change it.
Can some one give some idea how I can do it?

I've created the following procedure to recover password

Since I'm using 11g I need to grant privileges to localhost, so used the code in this link.To test this I've created a page in oracle with two text boxes ( :P50_MOME and :P50_EMAIL), one button and one process (linked to my button) that executes the procedure:
recover_password(:P50_NOME, :P50_EMAIL);I don't get any error when I try it, I've not received any mail.
