Recurring Leave in Oracle Absence Management

Hi All,
I have requirement where employee will have recurring leave like every thursday he/she will be off for next 4 months lets say. This thursday can be any other day in next week. Basically 1 day per week. There is proper schedule for employee for his/her leave day in a week. Please let me know how this can be achieved using seeded Oracle absence management functionality.
Please let me know if more details are required.
Cheers,

Hi Vignesh,
We are capturing this data in schedule management system(Not Oracle CAC).
They want to create absence also for such leaves And they do not want employee to enter multiple times.
I am thinking of using EITs and Absence Attendance API to create multiple absences.
Other approach we are discussing is  create user friendly OAF page for only this type of leave entry.We have one .net based leave management system which internally calls oracle leave sshr page. So for this type of leave we will call either custom web page or EIT page.
Please let me know your views.
Cheer,

  • Absence Management-Annual Leave CarryOver

    Hi,
    I have a single BG with multiple companies, the requirement is, in absence Management- Annual Leave carryforward is different for different companies.
    For one of the companies the maximum carry over is 60 days and other company there is no limit for the carry overs.Employees can carry any number of leaves.
    Can i achieve the requirement. Appreciate your reply.
    Regards,

    For one accrual plan there is only one carry over formula.
    You have to handle multiple conditions to satisfy the different companies carryover policies in same Carry Over Formula.
    Thanks

  • OTL Absence Management Integration Issues

    We are planning to implement OTL integration with Absence Management. We want to capture unit as DAYS and would like to capture half day leave as well. We applied for half day leave (0.5) in Absence Management, when reviewing the information from OTL, it is appearing as 1 instead of 0.5. OTL does not support absences in half days, it supports only in FULL days.
    Has anyone come across this situation? Your inputs are really appreciated.

    Hello,
    There is an Enhancement Request that was  logged for that requirement:
    Bug 14042699 - NEEDS TO ENTER DECIMAL VALUES IN THE TIMECARD WHEN USING DAY INPUT VALUE
    This ER is logged, here in the Community.  Development is tracking all voting and customer comments related to this ER and will take your ideas and requests under consideration.
    By Voting for this ER your information will be tied to the ER, so there is no longer a need to be attached to a bug.  We understand this is a new way of working and capturing information,
    and we hope you will find it more beneficial to know what ERs are being logged by customers and how many customers in fact are seeking out the same improvements as you.
    This issue has been identified as an Enhancement Request. We are excited to share with you that we now have an Enhancement Request Community in Service. All customers can now
    log new Enhancement Requests via this channel and track the progress. This community will give visibility to current recommendations and allow others to collaborate, discuss, and vote
    on existing requests. This part of the community is owned and maintained by Oracle Development.
    We also encourage you in the future to log the ER directly as the thread will be tied to your 'My Oracle Support Username', which will allow development to communicate with you directly
    should they have any questions or need clarifications. Also, by creating the thread yourself you will automatically be notified by email on any replies to the discussion. This will allow you
    to track the progress of the recommendation.
    Please follow these steps:
        Navigate to the Service Community via the URL: https://community.oracle.com/community/support/oracle_e-business_suite/service
        Reference the Your Ideas Count!template to help ensure you log a complete idea. https://community.oracle.com/docs/DOC-892134
        Select "Create an Idea" at the right of the Community Screen
        Add the Subject for the Enhancement Request. It would be recommended to make this as generic as possible, but summarizing the issue in a one-liner at the same time
        Include in the content region the details of what you are requesting and why. It is best to give as much detail as you can to help others customers understand the request so they can vote
        on the ER if they also find it     desirable. This detail will also help development with their review and consideration.

    The Oracle VM Manager software will not import a server side created VM for management purposes. It is giving an index-out-of-range error when trying to retrieve the Memory Size from the jumpbox.xen file (I created a symbolic link to this file called vm.cfg).

    Hi Ravi,
    the error is due to the componet JAVA(TM) 7 which is not supported.
    Better to run JAVA 6, I'm running the update 33, you can download it from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre6-downloads-1637595.html
    Remeber to remove JAVA &
    Go to control panel --> add remove programs and remove JAVA (TM) 7.
    It will solve the problem.
    Ciao,

  • Automatically starting Oracle Enterprise Manager with chkconfig

    Folks,
    While Oracle Linux 6 is out (6.2 actually), Oracle has yet to get everything 'working out of the box' with 6.2. Right now (June 2012) you've got to download patches from Oracle, the new way to start services in Linux 6, upstart, doesn't work with all Oracle features yet, etc. Update: You can still use chkconfig with OL6.
    Because of the above, I've been using Oracle Linux 5.8. Linux 5 uses something called chkconfig to register services. You first need to put a script in the right directory: /etc/rc.d/init.d. Linux looks in this directory for scripts and runs those scripts with either a start or stop after them depending on if the system is coming up or going down. Technically this happens every time you change your runlevel (google Unix runlevels for more info), not just when the system goes up or down.
    Here's a script that you can put in /etc/rc.d/init.d. I named mine oracleEM:
    [root@localhost ~]# cd /etc/rc.d/init.d
    [root@localhost init.d]# vi oracleEM
    Enter i to enter insert mode and then enter the below (or just copy and paste it)
    *#!/bin/sh*
    *#chkconfig: 2345 80 05*
    *#description: Oracle Enterprise Manager*
    ORA_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
    ORA_OWNER=oracle
    ORA_SID=orcl
    *# We're checking to see if ps returns 1 or 2 results for pmon_orcl*
    *# If there are two, Oracle is running, one we are just seeing our grep*
    ORACLE_STATUS=$(ps -eaf | grep pmon_$ORA_SID | wc -l)
    *if [ ! -f $ORA_HOME/bin/emctl ]*
    then
    echo "Enterprise Manager startup: cannot start"
    exit
    fi
    case "$1" in
    *"start")*
    *if [ $ORACLE_STATUS -lt 2 ]*
    then
    echo "Waiting for Oracle instance $ORA_SID to start before starting Enterprise Manager"
    fi
    *while [ $ORACLE_STATUS -lt 2  ];do*
    echo "Waiting...."
    sleep 5
    ORACLE_STATUS=$(ps -eaf | grep pmon_$ORA_SID | wc -l)
    done
    su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole"
    *"stop")*
    su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl stop dbconsole"
    esac
    Press the Esc key to leave insert mode, then type *:wq* to write the file and quit.
    We'll need to make the script executable, so we need to run the following command:
    [root@localhost init.d]# *chmod +x oracleEM*
    Finally we need to register the oracleEM script with Linux using the chkconfig command:
    [root@localhost init.d]# *chkconfig --add oracleEM*
    Now Enterprise Manager will start up automatically when you start your system, but only after Oracle has started.

    The script you are using will not work for RHEL or Oracle Linux since it is incorrect and missing important coding.
    You can probably fix the script by removing the dash (-) from the su command and adding the lockfile that is required for RHEL to process the stop routine at system shutdown. The dash will reset the shell environment and the startup won't work. You should also start it in the background in order not to prolong the system startup more then necessary.
    lockfile=/var/lock/subsys/oracleEM
    start)
       su $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole &" &>/dev/null
       touch $lockfile
    stop)
       su $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl stop dbconsole"
       rm -rf $lockfile
    ...You do not need to start your Oracle instance before starting dbconsole. So there is no need for the "sleep" routine. You can start the Oracle Database control console even when the instance is down:
    For instance:
    <pre>
    [oracle@vm005 ~]$ ps -ef | grep pmon
    oracle 17749 10343 0 22:48 pts/3 00:00:00 grep pmon
    $ emctl start dbconsole

  • Creation of PO's from Oracle Order Management

    Required Business Scenario
    Customer orders are received via the internet and imported into Oracle Order Management via an open interface table. The customer orders are processed by Oracle OM and converted to Purchase Orders which are then sent to suppliers (as no stock is held at our site). Goods are then shipped directly to the customer by the supplier. We take a commission for the service offered.
    Problem
    As we take a commission for the service described above, the value of the Purchase Order will be different to the value of the original order received via Order Management, however Oracle Purchasing does not allow you to place a Purchase Order on a percentage basis terms. (we will take a small commission as a percentage of the value of the original order meaning the value of the Purchase Order will be slightly less than the value of the original order). The following scenario attempts to explain the situation:
    Order received via Oracle Order Management
    5 units @ $20 = $100
    Purchase Order created from above order (required scenario)
    5 units @ $19.70 = $ 98.5
    Our commission @ 1.5% = $ 1.5
    Has anyone encountered this scenario before? If so I would appreciate assistance in how to resolve this issue. How can we create a Purchase Order from the order received via Order Management which will have a different value and allows us to take a percentage as commission?
    Thanks

    I came across your email on Oracle AppsNet. My company has the
    exact same requirement. Did you ever receive any replys related
    to this issue? If so would you be so kind as to forward them to

  • Confusion with a current state of Oracle Identity Management

    I would like to know if anyone has successfully implemented the complete suite of IdM. If yes, please share this experience. I want to clarify the definition of "successful integration". It should include the following:
    - SSO for Partner applications
    - SSO for External (third parties) applications
    - Provisioning and Synchronization
    - Delegated Administration
    - WNA with Kerberos
    - SAML implementation (optional)
    I would appreciate all answers on this subject

    To restart from your initial question, it's quite strange because the components you mention are all included in the AS10g Enterprise Edition or in AS10g Portal, and are perfectly integrated. I know numerous customers which use Oracle Portal, for instance, and leverage on SSO (patner or external), Delegated Administration (DAS) , Synchro with AD server and Windows native authentication, without a single line of specific code. Provisioning is done automatically by DIP in the case of Portal with AD, as well, or with a Human resource system. Even the password synchro can be made betwwen AD and OID (Oracle LDAP)
    Now, it's a sligthy different discussion if we consider the recent acquisitions made by Oracle, and which are sold in the so call : Oracle Identity management 10g.
    OAM (previously Oblix) is a more ambitious product that Oracle SSO.
    OIM (provisioning and identity management) is far more sophisticated than Oracle DIP.
    The goal, for Oracle, is to unify the workflow engine and the Human interface (with ADF). This task is probably on the rails for the next year.
    OVD (previously OctetSting) is an architectural component which allow virtualisation of LDAP server.
    About Federation, OIF allow all existing Oracle Portal customer (using SSO) to rely on SAML tokens in order to trust partners site.
    So, in my opinion, acquisitions oblige to make a substantial effort to unify human interface and make arbitration between some concepts, but it's within the Oracle means.

  • Problem with console in Oracle VM Manager

    I have installed Oracle VM 3.0.3 and Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3 is install on Oracle LINUX 5.6. I cannot get the console to work from either the Oracle VM Manager server itself using firefox or remotely from Windows running IE or Chrome. After looking at version posts I have installed tightvnc-java-1.3.9 and ovm-console-1.0.0. The symptoms are different locally and remotely. First locally on the OVM Manager server with firefox. I click on console and a pop up asks if I want to run ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp click OK and things go crazy, multiple tabs open and keeps going until I kill firefox or the server runs out of resources. On the remote PC I click console and things just hang and nothing happens. Checked firewall settings, iptables is not running, I can telnet to port 15901.
    Any ideas
    Richard

    maybe this will help
    local ( oracle vm manager )
    ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp --> need open by javaws . search the javaws path . or maybe you can install sun java version 7 1st . remote pc
    need install realvnc and java jre ( try install java version 7 )
    version 3.0.3 - for IE need IE 9 and above.

  • How to configure Oracle Configuration Manager in R12.0.4

    Dear
    I need to configure oracle configuration manager for my running R12.0.4 instance on single node setup.Whenever i try update my metalink credentials in oracle application manager dashboard,it says userid or password is wrong. While installation i skip the OCM screen. How can i configure it now either using Universal installer or comand line? Need all steps for setup?
    Do i need to download & install OCM client or is it already shipped with software & needs just configuration setup?
    Help me!
    Regards

    Ateeq,
    Running AutoConfig should populate profile options with the correct values. However, you can check the values after running AutoConfig to verify it.
    According to metalink document id, this Applications Server-Side Proxy Host And Domain profile needs to changed. Document id, will mention later.I forgot.Below are the notes:
