Redirect to Tablet

Hey guys,
I have the following problem:
I have created a  Website with muse within a tablet, phone and desktop version.
Now i have the problem, that Mozilla Firefox 30.0 always redirect me to the tablet version.
So, every time I go to my website on a Apple Mac, muse redirect the tablet-version of the site.
Configurations:
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 30.0
System: Mac OS X 10.9.2
Muse CC-Version: 2014.0
Are there anyone with the same problem? Is there any solution to fix the problem?
Thanks for help!
Forgive me my bad english - I'm a german "Sauerkraut"!

Hi Fabian,
Since this is happening on only one browser on one computer, it indicates that there is some thing with that browser that is not working correctly. Since you have already cleared all the cookies, I will recommend that you create a temporary hyperlink on the home page of the tablet section which takes you to the home page of the desktop version.
Once after you make this change, upload the site live or where ever you are checking and then from the tablet view's home page click on the link to the desktop's home page and see if that fixes the issue.

  • Muse not redirecting to tablet site?

    Muse is not redirecting to my tablet site on tablets (tried both iPad and Galaxy tabs). http://walkerdesigntablet.businesscatalyst.com should lead to my tablet site, not my desktop site. It previews correctly within Muse with the tablet version....ideas for what's wrong?

    Hi Ed,
    We have seen this issue crop up from you and others, and we are always doing our best to get the problems resolved as quickly as we can. We on the Muse team, and at Adobe as a whole, take a lot of pride in our product, and as such spend a lot of time making sure to identify issues people are having and work to fix the problems as we identify solutions. We understand that your time is valuable, and that issues that prevent you from doing what you need to do with our tools can be costly.
    Most of the time, when we identify issues people are having, we work hard to spend our time, rather than yours, investigating the problem, coming up with a fix, and, if needed, coming up with a workaround solution to get you back up and working as quickly as possible. We want to get out of your way as much as possible and let you use the tools we provide as best you can to be creative and to do your work.
    Occasionally, however, there are times when we are unable to figure out an issue on our own, and have to come back and ask questions, get clarification, and have you help us narrow things down a bit so we can get the issue resolved. More often than not, this is because we aren't able to reproduce the issue you are seeing on our own, and need a bit more info about how you are hitting it so we can see the same thing, and make sure we are addressing your problem. When we do come back with questions or requests for clarifications, we usually do our best to minimize the amount of time you need to spend helping us, while making sure your issue can be resolved as quickly as possible. For example, the page I linked to above is a script I wrote that will gather the information used by our systems so that I can reproduce the problem on my own, and come up with a diagnosis and solution. The hope here is that the only effort needed would be simply to visit the page and copy/paste the contents here so I can take a look.
    As for the confusion regarding the BC vs non-BC difference in site version served, I posted in another thread recently, though that isn't something you'd have necessarily seen, so I'll summarize it here.
    When determining which site to serve up to your visitors, we have different logic between Business Catalyst and a non-Business Catalyst site. On BC, we take advantage of the fact that we have the ability to run code on the server, and that BC already had some of this functionality, to do the processing and redirection behind the scenes. When your visitor sends the request for the webpage, along with that, they send along information about the browser and device they are using to view this information. The information isn't a lot of information, but it is often enough to be able to identify a general type of device being used, and with that information, we look that up in a large database to determine what type of site fits best for that device. We then will redirect the visitor to the appropriate page, if necessary, so they get the right viewing experience.
    When using a non-BC server, however, we do not know what sort of server or resources you have, so we don't run server side code, nor hook into any database. This makes it nearly impossible to do the same thing, so we take a different strategy for deciding what the best viewing experience is so instead, we ask the browser what the dimensions and pixel density are for the monitor or device you are viewing on. From there, we do our best to calculate what type of device you are likely on, using some basic tiers, and redirect to the appropriate layout if necessary.
    Each of these approaches has pros and cons, and we do our best to tweak both of these methods to ensure your site visitors get the best experience they can. But, because we use different methods for determining which site to serve, it does mean that some devices, especially those on the edges of each of the device categories, can change behavior between these two approaches. This is where the difference is coming from.
    The link listed in my previous post is meant to provide us enough information about the device being used so that both approaches can be optimized to get the right experience, which is why I requested the information from it. In this particular case, sometimes it can be a balancing act in making sure that the tweaking for your device doesn't break others, but the more information we have on this matter, often times the more accurate we can be. We have a number of devices we test Muse sites on (I have about a dozen sitting on the desk behind me at the moment, and there are more in other peoples' offices), but sadly there are just too many devices in the world for us to have them all, so getting more information about things when we are serving the wrong page is important.
    I'm sorry you are having problems, and hopefully you can understand our request for a bit more info to help us come to a solution.

  • Using Chromes device emulator as iPhone does not redirect to /tablet/ or /phone/ content on BC website

    Anyone know how to get chromes device emulator to load the /tablet/ or /phone/ content?
    I published a Adobe Muse website to BC and i get my /tablet/ and /phone/ content when hitting the website with a physical iPhone or iPad, but the chrome device emulator does not.
    Thanks!

    It does send the user agent.  If you change the user agent it recommends refreshing the page.  When i refresh the page i am not taken to the /tablet/ or /phone/ content folders.
    This is what they send when you choose iPhone iOS 6
    Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10A5376e Safari/8536.25

  • Adobe Muse and Tablet

    I do not have a tablet version designed, don't need it but when viewed on tablet, it is showing http://www.golfsurvivalguide.com/moreparsmorefun/tablet/index.html and resulting in a page not found? How do I fix this?
    Thanks

    The problem with that post is that it only refers to active layouts. I do not have tablet activated, yet it is still doing a redirect to tablet version, whcih doesn't exist?

  • Getting Tablet site to display on all mobile devices?

    My desktop site is http://www.stevelamb.net and my tablet site is http://www.stevelamb.net/tablet/index.html .   The tablet site displays automatically on my Kindle Fire and I included this code in hopes that would direct all other mobile devices to the tablet version:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!-- if (screen.width <= 699){ document.location = "http://www.stevelamb.net/tablet/index.html"; }
    //--> </script>
    This worked for iPhone but not for Galaxy phones.  Galaxy just goes to the desktop version of the site.
    Is there any easier way to make all non desktop devices go to the tablet version?
    Thanks.

    Phone devices should redirect to Tablet layout if there is no Phone layout enabled for a Muse project. Refer to the following post for more details about how this works. You don't need to add any code - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4974630#4974630

  • How to deactivate Muses mobile redirect

    Hey guys,
    I implemented a redirect for tablets and phones right in the header of each master page myself. It redirects from desktop website to tablet/phone website AND it redirects you if you are on the wrong page. For instance a desktop user lands on the tablet version, so he is redirected to desktop. Therefor it works fine, but I noticed for the tablet that first it is redirected to the phone website and second goes to tablet website. Even more, if a mobile user selects in the browser desktop-version it ends up in loop.
    I figured out, that Muse uses its own redirect code and mess it all up, but I have no idea how to stop it. I have no checkbox in page properties as i have seen in many tutorials. Only possibility I see to put all Desktop/Tablet/Phone websites in Muses desktop screen and delet tablet and phone tab.

    omg I am embarrassed, usually I am kinda computer pro. I have always looked it up by right clicking on the website and choose "Seiteneigenschaften" thinking that it is site properties in english, but I have never considered that under file->site properties a total different menu is. Thank you very much for the fast response.

  • When using a tablet I'm getting phone view

    I put my site on business Catalyst and when I view it with a tablet I get the phone view. I contacted support and they said its a bug and the team are working on it. I was told I would need to subscribe to the forums to wait for a fix and once it was fixed it would be announced in the forums and then I can upload my site and it will work, but they had no idea when it would be fixed. So I took my site down from business catalyst to wait for muse to have the functionality that was promised, because it seemed useless if it shows a blurred phone view when seen on a tablet.
    At first I thought I'd just have to wait. Then I thought that can't be right a big global company like adobe. They can't have released software that's automatically supposed to redirect depending on your device but doesn't.  I have checked the boxes saying redirect in site properties so it redirects to tablet and phone.
    I felt unsure so I contacted support again and they said the bug was just with the business catalyst website and if I upload my site to third party hosting it will be right. I was wondering if someone from Adobe could clarify the issue for me. If I don't test in business catalyst because it doesn't work and instead just upload it to my site will the redirects really be ok then?
    I would rather have someone clarify the issue before I go live with my site.

    Sites hosted on Business Catalyst and those hosted on other hosting providers use two completely different mechanisms for device detection. Sites hosted on BC refer to a "device database" to lookup whether a specific device is a phone or tablet. Sites hosted on other hosting use a snippet of JavaScript which looks at the dimensions of the screen and whether or not it's a touch screen.
    In theory the device database approach should be superior, since whoever populates the database has the opportunity to make a judgement call on tablet/laptop hybrids and "phablet" phones and the decision of what to serve is made on the server, whereas the JavaScript approach looks solely at screen size and touch screen support. However, in practice the device database has proven expensive and difficult to keep up-to-date and the JavaScript approach fits site visitors expectations remarkably well.
    My guess is the specific Samsung tablet and Kindle Fire devices you've checked are currently not in the device database and the nearest match is a phone.
    When you do "Preview Site in Browser" within Muse what URL is displayed in your browser? If it's something other than 127.0.0.0 or localhost, and if the devices are on the same wireless network as your computer, then you should be able to enter that URL into the browsers on your devices. The code generated for Preview Site in Browser uses the JavaScript redirect, so if my theory is correct (the out-of-date/incomplete BC device database is the problem) the tablet layout should load on your tablets (and phone layout on any phones you try).
    For the upcoming release of Muse, due out in a couple weeks (or less), there is an additional option in the Options section of the Publish dialog. The new option will enable you to choose whether to use the "Universal Redirect" (JavaScript) or the "Business Catalyst Redirect" (device database) when Publishing a site with more than one alternate layout to BC. I recommend you switch to the "Universal Redirect" and recheck your site on your devices.

  • Redirect Problem in Chrome

    Hi everyone,
    My site URL: www.ingeniodijital.com
    Muse Version: CC 2014
    Chome Version: 35.0.1916.153
    Chome redirect to tablet version when I try to display on my desktop.
    I read every post and I tried everything which were suggested and I have still same issue.
    Please help.

    Ahmic guy Yes, and at that time I replied with a link to a thread with more information and a link to the Chrome bug in Google's bug tracking system.
    Historically, Google's been very quick to address bugs reported against Chrome. In this case, they have not been. The same thread I referred you to previously includes one customer's workaround for this Chrome bug <Re: Tablet version of website is showing up instead of desktop version in Google Chrome>.
    Given how slow Google's been to address this bug, it's likely we'll make changes similar to that described by the customer in the referenced thread, though doing so will introduce the possibility that a small number of older tablet devices will suddenly start loading the desktop rather than the tablet version of sites.

  • Third Party Hosting Muse Site - 404 Error on Mobile

    Hi guys,
    I recently exported my Adobe Muse site files (pixelariumstudio.com), uploaded them into FileZilla, and then uploaded the site to GoDaddy hosting services using FileZilla.
    The site looks great on desktops but I receive a 404 error whenever I try to view the site on mobile devices (even tablets). I called GoDaddy thinking it was a problem on their end but after two opinions from two separate calls, I've been informed it's the code of the site itself that is the problem. The funny thing is, when the site was hosted through Adobe, it appeared fine on mobile devices but when the site was moved over to GoDaddy, the 404 error arose.
    I'm wondering if Muse writes specific code for displaying a site in mobile browsers that is not recognized by third party hosting services because GoDaddy is not redirecting the site to the mobile view and instead just coming up with a 404 error. If so, is there any way to change the code that Muse writes to display the site on mobile devices so that GoDaddy can recognize it? I've done some research online to see what basic code is used to redirect a site to the mobile view but all I came up with was:
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    Every guide I find says to place that tag right after the <head> and I do but still no luck getting the website to display on mobile devices. If anyone knows the proper coding to get GoDaddy to display a Muse site on mobile devices, I would forever be in your debt. I'm guessing it's just a couple lines I have to replace but I don't know what lines or with what to replace it. :/ Here is the entire <head> of the website in case this helps find any faulty code:
    <head>
      <script type="text/javascript">
       if(typeof Muse == "undefined") window.Muse = {}; window.Muse.assets = {"required":["jquery-1.8.3.min.js", "museutils.js", "jquery.musemenu.js", "webpro.js", "jquery.watch.js", "jquery.musepolyfill.bgsize.js", "musewpslideshow.js", "jquery.museoverlay.js", "touchswipe.js", "museredirect.js", "jquery.scrolleffects.js", "index.css"], "outOfDate":[]};

    Sounds like you haven't uploaded all the files exported by Muse.
    Specifically, it looks like you didn't upload the 'phone' folder.
    If you use Filezilla or another 3rd party FTP tool, you have to be sure to upload all the files exported by Muse for your site to work correctly.
    You can also use the 'Upload to FTP host...' menu item within Muse to upload all the files to your web hosting provider.

  • Viewport issues with new Chrome update

    Hi All!
    I created 3 seperate layouts with Muse for phones, tablets and desktops.
    My computers resolution is 1280 x 800, and for some reason after a recent update to chrome, it redirects me to the tablet layout. None of my other browers have this problem.
    My layout widths (as defined in Muse) are:
    Phone: 699px
    Tablet: 1024px
    Desktop: 1200px
    Here is the script that muse inserted into the header that refers to screen resolution:
    <script type="text/javascript"> Muse.Redirect.redirect('desktop', 'tablet/index.html', 'phone/index.html', ''); </script>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
    <meta name="generator" content="6.0.751.219"/>
    <link media="only screen and (max-device-width: 370px)" rel="alternate" href="http://eriksumma.com/phone/index.html"/>
    <link media="only screen and (max-device-width: 960px)" rel="alternate" href="http://eriksumma.com/tablet/index.html"/>
    Any ideas? Larger resolutions don't seem to be effected.
    Thanks for your help!

    Update to the latest version of Muse. (See this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/6061251 ) In Muse 7.2 we made a revision to workaround this bug in the latest Chrome update. You'll need to open your .muse file and re-upload all files in order to take advantage of this fix.

  • Mobile index not redirecting to index for appropriate device (desktop or tablet)

    When a user shares my website from their phone browser and another user clicks the link from a tablet or desktop, it still shows the phone version.  For instance:
    My son shares the website using the share feature on his android phone.  No matter WHERE he is sharing through (messages, email, facebook, twitter, etc), the link shared is http://truehdfitness.com/phone/index.html.  Muse places all redirect scripts on the desktop version of the site, but I need to be able to redirect people who click that link from a tablet or a tablet.  I've already had to export the website to dreamweaver to tackle a few code issues, I just need to know what to add to my tablet and phone pages to get them to redirect according to device when shared links are clicked.
    As you can see, I've shared the page from both desktop and mobile to my facebook page.  I had hope that by changing the og url it would link to my desktop page, but that isn't the case.  It still links to the phone index, which means the only people that see the site like they should are those who click that link from a mobile phone.  This won't do!  Too many people share pages these days and statistics show that many people start viewing a page from one device and go back to it through a different device.  Mobile and tablet links HAVE to redirect to appropriate sites.
    If you'd like to see what I'm talking about, click the topmost post on my facebook timeline while you're on a desktop or tablet.  It's UGLY!  https://www.facebook.com/dedi.thorne
    So, is there code that I can add to my phone and tablet sites that will resolve this?
    Thanks!
    Dedi

    <script language="javascript">
    var mobile = (/iphone|ipad|ipod|android|blackberry|mini|windows\sce|palm/i.test(navigator.userAgent.to LowerCase()));
    if (!mobile) {
    var filename = location.pathname.substr(location.pathname.lastIndexOf("/")+1);
                  window.location.replace("http://ThorneHills.com/index.html");
    </script>
    This is what I tried on http://www.thornehills.com/phone/index.html
    Did I misunderstand how I was supposed to put the pagename in?  I wasn't sure what you were saying, so I looked at the javascript site and that's what I came up with.add that
    Edited to add that I had honestly tried it several times and finally gave up and came back to you for clarification.  The code I posted is just my most recent attempt.

  • Built my desktop and tablet site in Muse. Desktop works fine, tablet version does not redirect when viewed on iPad.

    Do I have to upload the tablet version separately or does Muse 'see' the new tablet version as changed content?
    Either way, I need help since my iPad version goes to the desktop version regardless.

    Hello,
    Please make sure "Redirect from desktop" is checked in site properties for tablet. you can find this from File > Site Properties > layout > Tablet.
    Please look at the screenshot as well.
    Once the option is checked re-upload the site and then check on iPad. Please share the site URL if the issue still persist.
    Regards
    Vivek
