Redirection times out in FF v3.6

Redirection in Firefox version 3.6 times out, but previous versions of FF work fine. We have a captive portal on our wifi network that redirects users after authenticating. The automatic redirection doesnt work if you are using Firefox version 3.6, but works if you are using a previous version of Firefox, ie 3.5 (IE and Safari also work fine).
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== after upgrading to version 3.6

I may be wrong but I think that the "Use System Proxy Settings" makes sense only on Linux and generally speaking "other OSes". As far as I know there is no generic proxy settings in Windows operating system.
The one I know is in the registry part of Internet Explorer.
So in my understanding in Windows, Use System Proxy Settings = No Proxy

  • Session Time out - Relogin not redirecting

    Hi,
    If I am in a particular page of an application, and session times out, I get Page Expired window. On click of that, it takes me to login page. After I relogin, it is NOT redirecting me to the page where the time out happened. It just redirects to the Application Main page. Is there a way to let ADF redirect to the page where time out happened?
    Thanks,

    Hi Aluvala,
    Based on the current description, I understand that you would like to change the error message to custom message. The issue relates to Render Extension. Currently, the behavior which changes the error message to custom message is not supported. Therefore,
    I would suggest you submitting a wish at
    https://connect.microsoft.com/sql. Connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute
    to exciting projects.
    If you still want to make custom render message, you can try to create custom render extension while it is not easy.
    Hope this helps.

  • Time outs when redirected from RDS CB to RDSH

    Hi,
    I'm troubleshooting connectivity for the following setup:
    1x RD Gateway server
    1x RD Connection Broker Server also License server
    1x RD Web server
    1x RDSH server with multiple RemoteApps
    Gateway is configured to allow bypass for local connections.  Certificate has the correct name and is successfully installed. Certificate is from an internet CA.
    When users come in over the internet RemoteApps launch pretty quickly every time.  When users connect over the LAN RemoteApps launch successfully but much slower.  When users connect over some VPN connections the connection times out when launching
    a RemoteApp.
    Over VPN I can see a successfull CAP and RAP in the Gateway Event log.  I can also see a successful connection and successful redirection from the gateway to the connection broker over HTTP.  In the SessionBroker log I can see a successful connection, but
    then when the redirect to RDSH is attempted event 819 occurs "This connection request has timed out. User could not log on to the end point within the alloted time. Remote Desktop Connection Broker will stop monitoring this connection request."
    When you connect over the LAN it takes longer but successfully redirects, and when connecting over the internet (non VPN) it connects quickly and successfully.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
    What’s your server and client version you are using?
    Please uncheck the option “Bypass RD Gateway for local address” for gateway setting and verify whether there is any improvement in connections. Also as you have commented that you are receiving time out when you use VPN connection, please see whether there
    is any blockage from firewall side for not allowing VPN connection to make the connections.
    This might also occur due to antivirus or other 3rd party related software. Because as you can connect directly from internet without any issue but there is some problem with internal LAN and VPN connection, So seems issue with internal firewall\antivirus.
    Please check whether it is not blocked or any policy applied for not allowing connection.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Session Time Out For UNLOGGED IN USER During Search -pls help SIR!

    Hi,
    The problem lies in searchresultscontroller.java/searchcontroller.java file under search/web/handler of an application that supports educational note sharing.
    The problem is that -
    When I search with query strings in different fields(as you will find in the above mentioned java files)..the keywords in resourcedto and get some files as search results.
    Then I click on one of the file from within the search result and visit the file.
    Here if I m logged in as an user, and the session time out is set to 1 minute in the web.xml file of the web folder not the admin folder then when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button it easily goes back to the previous search result page along with the queries string that I had input previously.
    The problem is that when I m NOT LOGGED in as an user, and I've performed a search with queries and other dropdowns in the search panel, I get the search result page, I visit the file by clicking on one of them but when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button I don't see the previous search result page from where I had navigated to view the file.
    Please suggest on what changes shall I make in the code so that even if I m not logged in as an user, I get back to the search result page on hitting the BACK TO SEARCH button from the file view page.Sir I m herein pasting the code of the searchresultscontroller.java file, but please feel free to ask for anyother file whose code you might want to see.SEARCHRESULTSCONTROLLER.JAVA FILE CONTENT-

  • Session time out issue in Firefox 3.0 .

    I am using intranet application developed in .net framework 3.5. Users are authenticated via Windows Authentication in application.
    Issues in following steps;
    1) I am browsing application in one Firefox 3.0 browser. Simultaneously I am browsing some different site say google.co.uk in different instance of Firefox. Please note I am browsing google.co.uk in other Firefox browser not in different tab of same browser instance in which I am browsing my intranet application.
    2) Session time out in intranet application .
    3) I am starting new Firefox instance and try to open intranet site. I am again getting Session time out message.
    4) I closed all of Firefox browsers (2 instances)
    5) Start again a new browser and try to open intranet application.
    6) It is successfully opend.
    Now the pain is why I need to close all other Firefox browsers in case of session time out in one browser .Similar issue I was getting in IE 8 but they have feature like Open site with a new session .
    It would be nice if you can help in getting rid of this issue

    Hi Rohit,
    If you want to increase Session time : increase time in web.xml in min
    <session-config>
            <session-timeout>30</session-timeout>
        </session-config>
    and after session time out if you want to re-login to webshop then
    do following settings in XCM.
    url : http://<host>:<port>/b2b/admin/xcm/init.do
    goto -> General Application settings -> b2b -> b2bconfig.
    For reloginurl.core: value : ../init.do
    note: after session expire if your application is redirecting to https:<port>:<host>/....
    Then
    set  SSLEnabled: as false
    Restart your application

  • Session Time out  and session_timeout.jsp

    We have Sun Java Identity Server 2005 Q1 installed as part of our Sun Java System Portal Server 2005 Q1 install.
    When the authentication session times out, it redirects the user back to the login page. I remember that in 6.2 it used to show up the session_timeout.jsp page? Is there any way to make it work that way in Q1 2005 ?

    To be more specific, find your top level desktop display profile (marked as Default Channel Name) container name. Then go to Portal desktop type (default, or sampleportal, or...) with above container directory. (ex: /etc/opt/SUNSWps/desktop/default/JSPTabContainer) Modify header.jsp and/or menubar.jsp (something ...?action=logout with goto=http:///.....) HTH, Jerry

  • Session time-out and password security

    Hi,
    I have a webservice utility, deployed on several platforms (as an EAR on weblogic and webspere, as a WAR on tomcat), they all exhibit the same feature: on first connection, a username/password box pops up, but after the session times out (after 20 minutes or so of inactivity) and the it receives a new page request, instead of re-asking for the username/password, the app just jumps back to its own start page, and then continues without asking.
    How can I make it to pop-up the username/password box again?
    The security is implemented through the web.xml file:
    <security-constraint>
        <web-resource-collection>
          <web-resource-name>Success</web-resource-name>
          <url-pattern>/Logparser</url-pattern>
          <http-method>GET</http-method>
          <http-method>POST</http-method>
        </web-resource-collection>
        <auth-constraint>
          <role-name>webuser</role-name>
        </auth-constraint>
      </security-constraint>
      <login-config>
        <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
        <realm-name>default</realm-name>
      </login-config>
      <security-role>
        <role-name>webuser</role-name>
      </security-role>I found that this in itself was not good enough security as you would be able to go directly to one of the sub-pages (if you know the url), and to prevent that I pass (and check) the session-id with each page request.
    (all java servlets).
    Obviously something is missing, but I don't know what
    thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    Your web application is currently configured to use BASIC authentication.
    Instead if you use FORM-based authentication, then any new request (after your web application session times out) will be redirected to the login page. The Servlet specification has more information about FORM-based login.
    If you have a Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 or a Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 installation you can find a sample that uses form-login in the following directory
    6.1: <install-directory>/plugins/java/samples/webapps/security/form-auth
    7.0: <install-directory>/samples/java/webapps/security/form-auth

  • Session time out and automatic log off

    hi,
    I have been using JSC for a while but I am not JSC guru.
    I want to implement automatic logoff when the session timesout. I know that I can set session time out in tomat web.xml file. but I cant understand how to check if the session time is out and logOff the user.
    When user logs in, username is stored in the database, so when the user logoff the username has to be deleted from the database and he should be redirected to the login page. I want all this to be done automatically when session times out(i.e if the user is inactive for specified amount of time).
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Please reply ASAP, i need to get this working by tommorow.

  • Time Out Functionality in APEX

    Currently I am working on APEX 3.1 and using OID (10.1.2) for LDAP Authentication.
    I want to implement time out functionality in my application.
    Ex: If users logs into to APEX Application and keeping the page ideal for 15 min. When user tries to access the application again. I need to redirect him to SSO page.
    Can anyone suggest me, How can I achieve this functionality.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Balaji S

    Hello Balaji,
    The easiest thing would be: Upgrade to version 3.2. Then session timeout is out-of-the-box....

  • I live in Thailand, for the past two weeks when I try to search any topic I get the message "conecting to w3.mict.go.th" and then it times out; this occurs whenever I try to search anything; weird.

    I think since I downloaded the latest version of Firefox the problem started; about 2 weeks ago, and I cannot make any search because I am redirected to " w3.mict.go.th" which then times out. So I have been using IE to search, and firefox seems to work fine other than the search function.

  • Ping time out, server connection is lost in visual administrator after java

    Dear all,
    Recently I have done system copy for XI system. I have imported the java import after importing  the abap stack into the target system as java add in abap.The import phase finished successfully and java engine is also working well.
    I have confirmed this by moving to the browser page  " http://hostname:50000/ and XI system  http://hostname:50000/rep ". Everything is working fine and in MMC console as well.
    But while trying to log in to visual administrator i am getting the error message as " ping time out,connection to server is lost "

    Hello vamshi,
    As you have suggeseted, I followed the notes and changed the following paramters.The system is 64bit and hence the values are adjusted according to the server.
    -Djco.jarm=1
    -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false
    -Djava.awt.headless=true
    -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=1
    -verbose:gc
    -XX:+PrintGCDetails
    -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps
    -Xss2m
    -Xms2048M
    -Xmx2048M
    -XX:MaxNewSize=320M
    -XX:NewSize=320M
    -XX:MaxPermSize=512M
    -XX:PermSize=512M
    -XX:SurvivorRatio=2
    -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90
    -XX:+UseParNewGC
    -XX:+UseTLAB
    -XX:+HeapDumpOnCtrlBreak
    The heap size for java is 2048
    But still i am getting the ping time out. Connection to server is lost.
    Kindly let me know,
    Regards

  • Redirecting System.out() output to a JTextArea control

    I want to be able to redirect System.out() and System.err() messages to a JTextArea control:
    I know how to redirect output to a file as follows:
    FileOutputStream fos =
    new FileOutputStream(filename, true);
    PrintStream ps = new PrintStream(fos, true);
    System.setOut(ps);
    System.setErr(ps);
    How can I set it up so that I can recognise when messages have been to System.out() with a view to displaying the message within the JTextArea?
    I guess I need to set it up so that the JTextArea control acts as an Observer. The bit I'm having difficulty with is figuring out how I can automatically determine when information has been written to System.out()?
    Hopefully I'm explaining my issue in enough detail and clarity.
    thanks
    - Garry

    I would suggest you set up a separate thread to monitor System.out. Use a PipedOutputStream and redirect System.out to that, then connect that to a PipedInputStream that your other thread is continually waiting to read. Each time that thread reads a line, it should append the line to the JTextArea, using SwingUtilities.invokeLater.
    This is just a rough outline of something that might work. Hope it helps.

  • Dump time out message in the portal

    Hi experts ,
    In my portal , the web dynpro  component "FPM_OIF_COMPONENT" is being used.
    when user logs in and then sit idle for 30 min. then after he press "save" button,
    he gets the dump message like
    "the URL http://...WebDynpro /sap/hap_main_document was not called due to an error
    User session (HTTP/SMTP /..) closed after time out."
    "the termination type was "ERROR_MESAGE_STATE"
    but the Service "WebDynpro /sap/hap_main_document" remains active.
    Timeout is set for 60 mins but it gets timeout after 30 mins.
    I have to show a normal alert message instead of the dump mesage. how can i achieve that..
    please help.

    Hi Tobias ,
    yes , !! time out for web dynpro is also set to 60 min .
    But as per the requirment , i have to show a page / pop up msg displaying "portal time out " instead of that dump mesage.
    in the meanwhile i have come across the t-code SICF , on executing it for services. then in the path
    "sap -> bc -> webdynpro -> namspace SAP - > HAP_MAIN_DUCUMENT  " i have found the setting to redirecting the user to a URL page when error occurs.for every type of error there is a option of "redirect to a URL".
    I have not tested it.But i think it might work.i am still working on it.
    your valuable feedback is welcome..
    thanks
