Referencing error while linking
I am migrating our codes compiled in CC 4.2 to 6.2 and moving from Solaris 6 to 9
I am compiling with the following options
/apps/dev/sun5/lang6.2/SUNWspro/bin/CC -DCLASSIC_IOSTREAMS -library=rwtools7,iostream -staticlib=rwtools7,iostream -g -pto -DIT_EX_MACROS=1 -D_DEBUG=1
-DOPSYS_SOLARIS=1 -DOPSYS_UNIX=1 -I<Includes> -c TeknekronFunctions_u.cpp -o TeknekronFunctions_u.o
and linking with the following options
/apps/dev/sun5/lang6.2/SUNWspro/bin/CC -o mditibgateway_sv < all the objects > -nolib -Bstatic -library=rwtools7,iostream -staticlib=rwtools7,iostream < all the libraries>
-liostream -lCrun -lCstd -lrwtool -lm -lw -lcx -lsocket -lc -lsunmath -Bdynamic -lnsl -ldl
Compiling is done successfully.
But while linking , referencing errors occurs.
RWCString::RWCString(char) /src/optics/TIB_MIG/sol.cxx.620_new/alert/libalert.a(MDIServerName.o)
void(*set_terminate(void(*)()))() /src/optics/TIB_MIG/sol.cxx.620_new/alert/libalert.a(AlertExceptionHandlerRegistor.o)
Do you have any clue on this referencing errors.

Deepak
I am migrating our codes from CC4.2 to CC6.2
I have one executable broker which is running and another server which when starts up cotacts
the broker.
At this point I am getting the core dump, while debugging the fuction is CountedObject::AddRef.
This is the code, which increments the m_count using the obj.

ORA-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error while linking tables in Access
One of my app dev is encountering an interesting error message while linking Oracle tables from Access. I am not able to able to reproduce this in my desktop or anywhere else. Details enclosed. Can you guys point me to a solution? Thanks in advance!
ODBC: Oracle Client version 10.2.0.1
Desktop : Win XP ; Access 2003
=>Able to login to the Oracle database sucessfully using sqlplus.
=>Able to create an ODBC datasource to Oracle database.("Test Connection" works fine)
=>But encountering the TNS protocol adpater error while linking the table(Access->File->Get External Data-> Link tables).
=>Not able to link any table in any schema in any Oracle database. Hence this is not a data centric issue.
What did I do?
=> Uninstalled Oracle 8 client and installed Oracle 10 client. No luck. Encountering the same error.
=> Turned on the ODBC trace and reproduced the error. The log is enclosed:

Edited by: user5598619 on Feb 10, 2009 5:37 PMThanks a lot for your quick reply.
I've read all the posts mentioned (quite a few more) but I couldn't find any suggested solution to the "non-oracle10g"-problem other than using the global db name instead of the sid - which didn't help in our case:
However, in a last desperate attempt to solve the problem on my own before launching another cry-for-help-post I did try running the configuration assistant using the correct password for the SYS user 8-} and - strange but true - it did work :-)
Needless to say: I used the global db name of course, so I can't say what would have happened without it, but I trust your hint was a legitimate one.
Anyway - I gues that error Message concerning a "non-oracle10g database" was slightly misleading in this case.... grrrr.

Time Machine fails with "error while linking files on the backup volume"
One of my drives was nearly full. I moved some folders from that drive to one that had more space.
The next TM backup failed with "error while linking files on the backup volume". A full backup is about 620 GB, although this backup shouldn't have been a complete one. There was 570+ GB free on the drive.
A Disk Verify reported "Drive appears to be okay." Earlier TM backups appeared to be fine (at least accessible). I swapped the TM drive for another, initialized it, and TM used that drive with no complaints.
What does the message mean?
Thanks,

See #A1 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
Your user account may not have permission to see the logs.
The sentence beginning "If the message area is blank ..." shows how to figure out if that's the problem, and how to fix it.
Post back if it's not clear, or doesn't work.
The Tip had the answer. It was permissions.
What follow are the messages for the last unsuccessful TM backup (on v.3), followed by
the successful TM backup on the replacement drive (v.1). The line
"Copied 11 files (0 bytes) from volume Bay 3 HPFS+." was odd.

How do I send output using "cout" if STD C++

cout << "hello world" << endl;
return 0;
should work!!!HI
If I can have a look at your program, may be I can shed some

Crystal report XI error while Linking tables
We have just purchased Crystal Report XI license copy but as we going to create new report there is problem in linking tables
i.e while pressing LINK tab after selecting ODBC databse name application going shut down.Please suggest.Thanks in advanceI would make verify the database within Crystal report and then re publish it again. It seems it doesn't get the connection to the db.
Have you refreshed the database within Crystal Reports?
As Graham said, does it open in Crystal Viewer?
another thing would be to add the DSN (System DSN) onto your client machine as well. Maybe it is not getting a right connection.
Try it and let us know.
Kind Regards

Error while linking user defined table to user defined field using vb6.0
Hi,
I am creating a userdefined field on a SAPB1 table(PDN1) using vb 6.0
I am trying to link this field to a user defined table.
When i do that i get the following error:
"The field 'Related table' should consist of 8 alphanumeric chracters with no valid or default values"
When i try to do the same thing from SAPB1(not using code) there is no such problem.
My vb code is as follows:
Set oUserFieldsMD = oCmp.GetBusinessObject(oUserFields)
oUserFieldsMD.TableName = "PDN1"
oUserFieldsMD.Name = "OB_Locn"
oUserFieldsMD.Description = "WH Location"
oUserFieldsMD.Type = db_Alpha
oUserFieldsMD.EditSize = 30
lRetCode = oUserFieldsMD.Add
If lRetCode <> 0 Then
oCmp.GetLastError lErrCode, sErrMsg
MsgBox sErrMsg
GoTo Err_
End If
If Not oUserFieldsMD.GetByKey("PDN1", 0) Then
MsgBox "Error"
GoTo Err_
End If
oUserFieldsMD.LinkedTable = "OB_TEST"
lRetCode = oUserFieldsMD.Update
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.Great Sébastien!
Looks like we could not survive here one day without your contribution
Best regards,
Frank
PS: For readers of this thread who don't understand why
EditSize
must be "8":
This is the size of the
Code
field in the user-defined table to which the new field OB_Locn (in the DB it will be U_OB_Locn) is linked to...
So, it should be preferrably of the same size. -
Hi,
I have configured the trusted reconciliation for OID.
1. I have created the variables in RO and mapped them in the Process Definition.
2. Then I created the reconciliation rule "User Login Equals User ID" and mapped the User ID to uid in the recon lookup. I have made the rule active.
3. I clicked on the create reconciliation profile and restarted the server.
I am able to get the values in the OIM events but from there its not linking to the user. The user ID that I am receiving in the event is absolutely the same as that of the User Login in OIM. The error I am receiving in the logs are as below.

Please let me know how to get this resolved. Thanks a lot.It seems there is problem to get LOCK. In oracle we have DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT parameter to control this. You can verify similar parmeter in Weblogic console and increase the LOCK_TIMEOUT. restart all servers along with Database. Even if you don't find any parameter like that. just restart all servers including DB

Error while linked server is used to verify the existence of a table
Hi All,
Pls help me solve an issue related to linked Server..
Following is my query:
IF EXISTS (select 1 from [LinkedServerName].Sales.sys.tables where name = 'SalesTable')
BEGIN
DECLARE @LastSales varchar(25)
SET @LastSales = (select CONVERT(VARCHAR(25),max(LastSalesTime)) from [LinkedServerName].SalesDB.dbo.SalesTable)
END
What should happen is, it should check the existence of SalesTable on Linked Server (select 1 from [LinkedServer].Sales.sys.tables where name = 'SalesTable'), and only after the it returns 1, the variable @LastSales should be alloted a value.
But in my case, as soon as I run the code, it gives the error:
The OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "LinkedServerName" does not contain the table ""Sales"."dbo"."SalesTable"".
The table either does not exist or the current user does not have permissions on that table.
My question is that if the condition fails at the very outset returning null (as the table does not exist), then why it is entering BEGIN and throwing the error.
All your valuable inputs are appreciated !!Inconsistency is the hailmark of SQL Server.
If you say:
IF EXISTS (select 1 from Sales.sys.tables where name = 'SalesTable')
BEGIN
DECLARE @LastSales varchar(25)
SET @LastSales = (select CONVERT(VARCHAR(25),max(LastSalesTime)) from SalesDB.dbo.SalesTable)
END
This will work as you expect. That is, if the table does not exist, the batch will parse and produce no result. This is because SQL Server has deferred name resolution for tables. If a table is missing at compile time, SQL Server suppresses the error in
hope that the table will be there at run-time.
But there is an exception to this. For table sources on remote data sources, there is no deferred name resolution, but the table has to be there at compile time. This is quite ironic. Personally, I think deferred name resolution (which was introduced in
SQL 7) is a big misfeature, but I could buy if there was deferred name resolution for objects on linked server, since the server may be down, and you have coded for this like you have above. Well, if the server is down, the IF EXISTS will fail to compile to.
You will need to introduce a new scope somewhere to avoid the problem. For instance:
IF EXISTS (select 1 from [LinkedServerName].Sales.sys.tables where name = 'SalesTable')
BEGIN
DECLARE @LastSales varchar(25)
EXEC [Linkedservername].SalesDB.sys.sp_executesql
N'SET @LastSales = (select CONVERT(VARCHAR(25),max(LastSalesTime)) from SalesTable)',
N'@LastSales varchar(25) OUTPUT', @LastSales
END

Schema error while linking users in ISW
Hi
When i am linking user (idsync -k) i get following error in isw log
"LDAP modify operation of entry uid=jhenry,ou=people,ou=Faculty4,ou=Employee,o=aus.edu,o=ausedu failed at null. Error code: 65, reason: null" (Action ID=CNN101-1143923ED11-70281, SN=9
and in DS6.1 error log i see this
07/Aug/2007:14:05:10 +0400] - ERROR<5897> - Schema - conn=-1 op=-1 msgId=-1 - User error: Entry "uid=jhenry,ou=people,ou=Faculty4,ou=Employee,o=aus.edu,o=ausedu", attribute "mailUserStatus" is not allowed
same error also occurring for paburi and nsnswmExtendedUserPrefs. These users are acticve mail users and objectclass. inetMailuser and ipUser is assign to them
What could be the reason . Please help
ThanksHi,
the error 'attribute "mailUserStatus" is not allowed' means that none of the objectclasses assigned to that User allow to have the attribute "mailUserStatus".
Please check whether any of the objectclasses assigned to your Users allow this attribute. You can check this by looking at your schema. Im not quite sure how to examine the schema with dscc. There might be something under configuration.. Otherwise you could check the schema files in /var/opt/SUNWdsee/dsins1/config/schema/ to find out which objectclass provides the attribute mailUserStatus.
Have you executed /opt/SUNWcomds/sbin/comm_dssetup.pl to adapt your directory for the JES stuff? But be careful with that, because it might make significant changes to your directory entries and schema..

Error While Linking Formula field for Repetetive Area Header In PLD
Hi All,
I am having a problem in pld..Let me explain...!!!!
I have a drop down field called Billing Type....My requirement is if the billing type in Time based then it should become number of Hours,if my billing type is Trip based then my Quantity column should become no of trips .I got the logic but when i am linking the formula field with the header in the repetetive area it is not working,but when i paste it some where else it is working,Please tell me any solution for this...!!!my version is 8.81 PL20
Regards
CherryHi Cherry,
Any formula fields you use in your logic must be on the same area as the linked fields. In your case - as I understand you are trying to link row level fields to a formula based on a header level UDF. What you need to do is to move all your hidden fields used in the formula to the Repetitive Area - don't worry if the field used is actually header level, it still should be fine.
I would advise not to hide any fields used in a formula until you are 100% sure it's working - as you can then check if all of them show the results you expect. For instance in this case you could see that the header UDF displayed in the Repetitive Area is repeated in every line and so any formulas based on this field will work well.
I hope this helps.

"undefined symbol" error while using a custom instrument driver
Hello all, I'm facing a problem related to instrument driver creation.
I want to pack a part of my code to a .FP to be able to reuse it in other applications of mine. This part of code includes calls to Windows API and a third party dll. I have included both windows.h and the include for the dll in the header file for the instrument. I developed the source code and next a little application that simply calls one function to test the result of my work, but I get some 'undefined symbol' errores while linking the test application with the instrument. The instrument header file is included in program source file.
Situation is as follows:
I can run the test application if I include the source file for the instrument directly in the project (without loading the instrument)
I created a static library and can have the test program up and running if directly including the library in the project (again without the .fp file)
I get linker errors when trying to use the instrument I created based on the same code, both when including the instrument at source code level and when including at library level. Adding the .fp to the project makes no difference
Linker errors are all related to WinSDK and third-party dll functions.
Question is: where and how I have to declare the symbols apart including the appropriate .h files in the instrument header file?
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
My contributions to the Developer Zone Community
If I have helped you, why not giving me a kudos?Being waited on to log on... how flattering
I wish I had a simple and obvious solution, but I don't.
The problem in this case is that, whereas DLLs (via their import libraries) carry no additional build-time dependencies to their clients, that is not the case with object files and static libraries: any project that uses those .obj and .lib files must satisfy all of their dependencies when that project builds.
There is a mechanism, with .fp files, to advertise such dependencies to the clients of the .fp, and that is the auto-load list (Edit>>FP Auto-Load List, in the function tree editor). The caveat, however, is that these indirect dependencies must have a companion .fp that you can add to this list. And in your case, you don't have one. So the only solution I can think of is for you to create a very thin wrapper module where you would wrap all of the SDK functions that you need, then create a basic .fp for this wrapper -- you can do this semi-automatically, from the header file (Options>>Generate Function Tree) -- and then add this .fp to the auto-load list of your primary .fp. And then you'll probably have to create a second .fp wrapper for your other dependency (a non-SDK third-party DLL?).
Once you have declared the dependency chain for this .fp, you should then be able to use it on any test application and CVI should know to link in these additional static libraries whenever it builds the test application.
If you choose to go this route, you'll probably have to deal with a bunch of non-standard data types in the parameters of the SDK functions. I don't remember if these are automatically added to the .fp when you create it from the header file. If not, all you need to do is add them to the .fp later (Options>>Data Types, from the function panel editor). Don't worry about providing the definitions for these data types. They're not necessary. You just need to make sure that their names are in the list.
