Referrer report

I have a website and have captured all the user's referal
links. I would like to generate a report. However cgi_http_referrer
returns verlong strings. How can I have it show my top 20 referrer
and set everything else to other? All my Data is stored in a
Database.
Not sure what functions I can write or use to do this? Mainly
looking for something to pase the domain from the return string.

do you mean you only want the domain information from the
string and not anything that comes after the domain (ie the
query_string)? if so i suspect you might need to cfloop through the
string character by character (using the 'left' function i think)
perhaps looking for any "."s and then parsing anything to the right
of the "."

We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live on Tuesday, September 10th.

In this release, we're introducing the ability to set metadata for products, similar to the previous feature we've done for blogs.
To show the Products Meta description, change the HTML for the Individual Product Large Layout to include the corresponding tags in the <head> tag. You can use {tag_productmetatitle} and {tag_productmetadescription} to output the product title and meta description, and they can be used for other meta properties as well.
Here's a code snippet:

To populate the Meta description for your products, you can use the product import - we've updated the export and the import files with a Product Meta Description column, it's the last column in the import template file.

Hi Liam, I was using that new dropdown section but the Meta Description wasn't saving. I did 10 yesterday and today some were missing which I'd definitely done yesterday. (Maybe it's something to do with onesaas which exports and reimports the products to sync with our accounting and inventory system?)
To be on the safe side I'm now copying the data from meta description into a custom 1 field in case it vanished again i can recopy and paste it back and not loose hours of rewriting etc.
Plus I found the tag to show the more options-keywords on the pages too.
So what i've learnt (in case anyone else is as lost as me..)
Don't touch product page properties. (I'm going to go through and delete all mine)
On the product large layout page have:

Third Party reporting-referrer address

Hi,
We are running redundant CSS's in one armed mode, and we use the group command. We have one group of servers that has content from third parties (search Engines). Since putting the group command on (to correct one issue) the source address is now being changed by the CSS (which is correct) however when the link on the internal web servers is clicked the third party gets the report and the referrer address shows up as the VIP not the Internet user.
Is there anyway to get this original source address back or into the packet(s) that hits the web server soas to send to the third party?

no - there is no way if you use the group.
That's the problem with one-armed design.
We try a smuch as we can to recommend not to use one-armed design unless there is really no other way to do so.
In your case, you can get rid of the group command if you make sure the CSS sees the server response.
This can be done if the CSS is the default gateway of the server or if there is a device doing policy routing to redirect the response to the CSS.

On our existing MS CMS 2002 site, we use Google Analytics to track file views, e.g., PDF, DOC, etc. This is very important for us as we need to know who is looking at the files we provide, how often, referrer, from what location, etc. Google Analytics
provides this information when we add the proper GA code to every file anchor e.g.,

I downloaded and reapplyed the 10.4.8 update. Upon the restart, the blue screen with the Apple logo in the center came up, and that is it. I have tried all the methods of restarting as stated in the manual, but none have done anything. I ran the hardware test, it finished and said everything was OK. Now, the little spinning wheel is going round and round, AND there is a "NO" sign where the Apple shoud be (NO sign is a circle with a line diagonally through it). A thousand helper points to anyone that can help me get this thing going again.

if it won't boot even in "safe mode" - shift key held down right after restart, OS is probably messed up badly.
you could try booting from 10.4 disc and running "archive and install"

I did try to boot using the disc. However, when I select the disk in the Startup Manager (and the HD, startup disc and hardware test) all show up as options, I hi-light the disc, click the arrow, then go into infinite wait mode, first with the apple and spinning gear, later (on a couple of occasions) the apple turns into the prohibitory sign.
Boy, I am lost on this.....I couldn't even reload everything with this situation.

to boot from OS disc try holding down "c" on keyboard, do not hold "option" key
if it won't boot from original OS disc when "c" is pressed, could be some hardware issue

I couldn´t get anything done, however I read through some other posts and tried the command-option-P-R. This, after the second restart, allowed me to finally access the disk utilities. I did a "first aid repair", got a lot of library issues repaired by was left with a final message that said:
Invalid leaf record count
should be 12 instead of 730
AT the bottom, the final summary said:
1 HFS volume repaired
1 Volume could not be repaired
I tried again several other times to restart, however still no can do.
Ideas?

Summary report w/over 90 summary elements

Using CR XI Professional edition ..... What would be the best approach to provide a summary report with over 90 different database element summaries from a SQL Server database? I've created one document with all of the categories to summarize and also have started creating subreports to summarize the related report sections.
Problem is, the data seems to get out of whack. When I change selection criteria (only slightly) it can change a summary count in a whole other section.
Any ideas?

There are 12 'sections' (A thru U ... obviously not including all letters) to the report
each section can have as few as 2 or as many as 25 summaries relating to that section's data/table source in the database. In other words, section 'A' gets data from one table; section 'B' gets data from one or more tables ... and that's where it goes whacky.
each of these sections has been already 'built' in the MS SQL Server database by the stored procedures and resides in temporary tables that, again, i can't access because of the error mentioned previously. And because of this restriction, I am trying to recreate the SQL process in Crystal ... and it's giving me fits!
Here's a crude text of what the report looks like (exported from CR). Each section's entries are labeled like 'B1', 'B2', etc. The values at the end of the line represent the calculated (Running Total) value when the report is presented.

Report data binding error unknown column name

Hi,
I am having a problem with the new 7.02 update of Report
Builder. The issue is it's not finding my SQL query.
I have wrote my query initally in the advance mode, and it
doesn't seem to reconize it. Is there an issue with this?
I did manage to fix one of my reports by using the basic mode
and selecting all my tables and seting my linkage and criteria.
I have other computers that i have not updated to 7.02 and
they do not have this issue. Below is the error:

This report works in 7.01. So all query variables match with
a variable in the SQL select statement.
Anyone have any Ideas??

Thank you very much for help.
The "Unknown column name " is a field still used in my
report, so I can't remove it.
After I clear the query in the report and reopen the report
and apply the same query back to it, I get different error message:
Element TASKNUM is undefined in QUERY.
The error occurred in : line 1
-1 : Unable to display error's location in a CFML template.
I know for sure this "Element TASKNUM is undefined in QUERY."
is defined in query. each time it complains something different. I
get really confused.

Crystal Reports not displaying all data

We have a simple report pulling from 3 tables on a sql server. For some reason, data from one table does not fully display. The table is called Referral, and we have some clients that have a Referral record tied to them. Out of a report of 20 records, we will have 3-4 that won't display the referral data (even though I can see it in the database), but the other 16 records will. If I go into the database, and change the data on one of the non-displaying referral records and save, it will start displaying. If I then change the data back to the original, it will also display. Being new to Crystal Reports, I don't know if this is a Crystal issue or a problem at the data source, but thought I would put it out here in case someone is familiar with this problem. Our Crystal Reports version is 2011.

This could be either table join problem in your crystal reports designer or when you are linking the tables it is unable to match the records.
-- Go in Crystal reports designer and refresh the report and go in Database Menu--Show SQL query and copy the SQL and run the same at database end and check.
Also you said you are able to see all records at database end, if you are extracting data through SQL you can very well copy that SQL in crystal reports under 'Add Command' option and create your report.
You will find Add command option under your Database connection while creating a report.

Please guide me for the possibility of creating a Z program which should call the T. Code, supply parameters for execution & sending output by email.I
need to execute 3 processes thru a single a program ..
1. get the distribution list
2. call the respective Tcode
3. running the background job for saving the variant & passing it.
Do I need to do recording thru BDC for each of them?
How can i do so in this manner..kindly guide me..

Hi,
If the transaction codes you are referrring are associated to report programs, do as below:
1. Submit required program with addition Exporting list to Memory.
2. Read the list to an internal table
3. Use the data to send as mail attachments.

Problem with a simple Crystal 10 report

Help please!!
I am writing what should be a simple report in Crystal 10 which is acting oddly.
The report is built on 3 tables which sit on a SQL database and are linked through ODBC views. The tables are property, referral and incident and the property table is the one that exists in all cases. All three have a Property ID and the other two tables are linked to the property table through two full outer join connections. A property can have a referral or an incident or both.
I just want to create a report which lists all the unique properties which have a referral or an incident which has been created within a particular timescale.
The filter I am using is:
{est_property.est_address_postalcode} = "AB12 5NX" and
(({est_referral.CreatedOn}>={?Start date}) and ({est_referral.CreatedOn}<={?End date}))
or
(({Incident.CreatedOn}>={?Start date})and ( {Incident.CreatedOn}<={?End date} ))
Note the 'AB12 5NX' bit is just to speed the testing process up as the databases that I am querying are large.
The version I am running is 10.0.0.533 although I am currently (very slowly) downloading SP6.

I have made some progress on this. I think the problem is because the filter fails when the tables it is querying have Nulls in them.
I have just tried building the filter again with an "if the 'created on' field in the referral table is NULL then just query on the incident table" type of query:

This seems to work but seems to be very heavy on the processing. It would also require a very complex bit of coding when I start building the proper query which actually requires four sub-tables to be queried rather than ust two!

ACS Report - User_Usage_Logon - not returing any data and the report never finishes

i'm trying to run the User Usage report, but not getting any data output.
i tried to open the report in the report builder to check the query,, but the query is in XML format and i'm not able to figure out the actual query that pulls out the data.
i need help on the below :
1. way to check , if the ACS database , does actually have any data.
2. to pull out the actual query from the XML data.

As we only have one report experienced this timeout issue. Given this situation, we can try the following steps to narrow down the issue:
1.Run the report directly through SSRS report manager URL to test if we still get this issue.
2.If yes, increase the timeout limitation for this single report.
3.As for further investigation, we can enable SSRS verbose logging by referring to the following steps:
Enabling verbose log in Reporting Services Instance :
To enable the verbose logging for the Reporting Services instance you have to follow below steps.
Go to location
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
Find the ReportingServicesService.exe.config
file, make a copy first, and then open it in editor and change the below configuration.

You have to restart the Reporting Services from Reporting Services configuration manager.
4.After enable the verbose logging, reproduce this issue again by running the report, record the timestamp when we start the report, when the error popped up.
5.Then check SSRS log files at the following path, in the file which contain the issue time, check if there is any error message.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles

Server Referral and dhcrelay

I am playing with the ZCM 10.3 RC1 build and am trying to get the Server Referral list working so that it will coexist with our existing ZEN7 server. So I put the IP of the ZEN7 server into the referral list, and when I PXE boot a machine it gets referred to the ZEN7 server as it should, but it fails to boot to the imaging menu as it fails to download files via TFTP:
"ProcessPXEMenu: TFTP Read File failed."
After running some network traces, I have found that it is trying to send the TFTP requests to the MAC address of the dhcrelay server that serviced the original DHCP requests, instead of the ZEN7 server.
In detail, the machine boots, it gets DHCP offers from our dhcrelay server (10.10.0.29) in our test environment. PXE works and the Novell PreBoot Execution (PXE) Agent (v10.3.0.0) downloads from the ZCM10 server (10.10.20.1) fine and runs. It gets referred to our ZEN7 server (10.0.2.12). Then when it tries to download the pxemenu.txt from the ZEN7 server, it does an ARP for the dhcrelay server, then sends TFTP packets to the MAC address of the dhcrelay server, but with the IP header showing the IP address of the ZEN7 server. So it seems it should be ARPing for 10.0.2.12, but it ARPs for 10.10.0.29, although the IP header is correct. Only the MAC address is incorrect. I have attached a .pcap file showing the ARP and the subsequent bad TFTP request.
I don't know if this is only an issue with this RC build, or whether it was the same in previous releases, but it looks clear to me that this is doing the wrong thing. Any thoughts would be appreciated before I submit a bug report.

After more investigation, there seems to be a similar problem even without the Server Referral involved. The PXE environment always seems to ARP the dhcrelay IP when it actually wants to send to the imaging host. I'm guessing this only works in our production environment because the dhcrelay host is on our router, so it ends up working out alright.

Re: Column is not getting displayed in the BI report

I have developed a BI report with more number of parameters.
Case 1:
When i run my report , I am able to see data for particular condition but one column doesn't show any thing. All the rows in the column are blank.
Case 2
I tried to put the blank column as parameter, The Program works with out displaying that column data.
I am not sure where it is going wrong. I tried running the code in toad and i am able to see the data.
I have checked the code, Parameter description, length, Template and data definition.

For that column did u changed any alias name in the query...
check ur template once by loading the xml data...
check that column form field that matches with the xml tag or not..
